First day on training/apprenticeship for my Metalworking job. Love my boss. Really great supportive guy. 50 years in work.

I don't like the other apprentices who think they're so cool working with things that, and I don't think they realize this, can kill a person in a dead instant. You get on the wrong side of an arc welding machine, and you are stone. Cold. Dead. In. Less. Than. A. Second.

And I was accepted because the company looked at my notes from the teacher at school. They noted the "makes sure safety is always on" and "always cleans up after a job". I'm the only one who even knows how to properly work a forge and foundry for crying out loud!

Was going to make a rant I've been wanting to make for a while, but then I clicked on a link and now it's all gone (good job me), and now I'm sort of tried of typing so this is a rant about that, woohoo.

You ever have those days where it seems like you wanna do somethin' but then you try to do it and then you look at yourself and you suddenly change you mind; Where there is almost nothing to do even though realistically you could be playing a lot of things you are playing through like a ROM or watching a video? I'm havin' one of those days. I just hate them. It leaves me to be so tired, lazy, lonely, and just a mess throughout the whole day without a clear thought in my head. It just seems that everybody else is off doing something and yet, they are still prevalent with their other chores and issues and you are just left out in the dust.

I guess this is what Summer feels like after it feels like it's been forever since you've been to school. Welcome to the dog days of summer.

So turns out that GIMP is absolute ass when it comes to sprite editing.

Resizing works fine... to a point. Then you start getting subtle variations in color every time you resize---even when you're using no interpolation. Before long, the sprites barely resemble what they initially were at the beginning. And having every Reborn sprite at 2x scale for some inane reason doesn't help either.

I had to put on my pirate hat and get Photoshop CS3 to clean up those sprites... sigh. At least work got done a hell of a lot faster when I stopped bothering with resizes and started abusing the Marquee/Duplicate tools.

Still, GIMP. You're supposed to be one of the children of the Internet. Get your act together.

I only ever used GIMP for gif-editing... before I had Photoshop. Which I use for everything now x_x

You know what sucks? Lack of consistent sleep. For several days straight. No matter what method I try from the old 'warm milk' to sleep aids. Headaches, lack of energy and wanting to kill everyone. Oh, and when I did get some sleep, a nightmare one night wakes me up early. And the other time, a certain person who I'd honestly rather forget somehow, beyond all reason, appears in a dream. So. I do something I assume to be good for me even after it was almost a whole year delayed. And when I finally do it, it doesn't really feel as relieving as I thought it would be; nothing's changed and my head's just a big mess of clusterf***s. And it's not helping me forget, either. anti-feminist blogs actually exist and when you send them a well-though-out ask where you’re trying to get them to explain their reasoning or look at something objectively rather than an angry “you’re an asshole” they ignore you because they can’t defend themselves from un-biased conversation BECAUSE THEY’RE WRONG.

Common anti-feminist defenses:

• deflecting with “oh no, the patriarchy strikes again” or something of the like.
  
• ad hominem.
  
• ignoring your points and blowing a fact up into the ridiculous fringe racialist phrasing of a similar issue
  

Like really I have NEVER in my ENTIRE LIFE seen an anti-feminist try to calmly explain their views using facts or without trying to offend another person/group and there have been COUNTLESS feminists that kindly inform me of pressing issues and underlying implications of a movement using logic, morality, and OBJECTIVE REASONING.

And that says a hell of a lot.
