  1. This is called a living dex. It's pretty much regular completion but you have to do half of it twice or three times lol. I don't currently have a save file that would be of too much help to you unfortunately... Good Luck, I would recommend asking in the Discord server if you can't find what you're looking for here.
  2. The REDACTED can only really be one of two places: Labradorra or the Pokémon League. We don’t really know what Labradorra looks like but I’m guessing it’s the Pokémon League because of the logo in the middle and the fact that the PokéMart is built in.
  3. Creating sprites and making sure they are compatible is a bit more complicated, but if you just want to replace a sprite with another then go into the Graphics folder and find whichever file, and replace it with a different file with an identical name.
  4. Gen 8 won't be added, thank fuck.
  5. Ok so a bit late to the party but the general idea is that Lin's objective is to free Arceus and remake the world, hence the world would be "Reborn". As for Lin's death itself, we see Lin die in Never After without actually dying. The main theory of this is that the Lin we see isn't actually a person, it's a sort of puppet. The child we hear in the Citae'd'astrae, Glitch World and Black Hole is actual child Lin (that Laura and Sigmund hint at) who, through whatever magic exists within the Citadel, hasn't aged since she went down there, similarly to Adrienn, and is using the adult Lin to pull strings to get the 4 keys and release Arceus. This would explain why adult Lin is so much older than the child from the orphanage, and why adult Lin doesn't quite seem "human". She falls asleep and wakes up at seemingly random intervals like some wierd narcolepsy, she doesn't die from being stabbed, and she seemingly doesn't have a soul, implied by the fact that Anna couldn't see anyone riding the Hydreigon above Tanzan Mountain. In the WTC, Shade tells us something along the lines of "Four screens foretold four souls' fortune forsaken. For, forsooth, from foreshadowed, only two will be taken". So pretty much, the screens predicted four deaths, but out of these only 2 die. Since Kiki and Corey already died, this feels like a fake out to tell us that Lin doesn't actually die as the screen forshadows. But, if Lin doesn't actually have a soul, then she might still die, and only two souls would be taken.
  6. Exactly. The opposite of a good Pokémon isn’t a bad Pokémon, it’s a niche Pokémon. Hence a bad or mediocre Pokémon can do exactly what a good Pokémon does, under specific enough circumstances. In early Gen 8 OU Meltan could PP Stall Ferrothorn. This didn’t make Meltan good, but it gave it a niche. Meltan no longer has this niche because of Magnezone though. So back to the original point, the fact that a “mediocre” Pokémon can sweep strong teams, assuming it has a good enough matchup, isn’t too surprising.
  7. That’s just what the move does, hence it isn’t learned by any other Pokémon with short necks. It’s even an egg move, so if Gamefreak wanted to give it to Tyranitar, they could’ve, but they didn’t, because it doesn’t make sense. Just because an aspect of a move isn’t specifically said in the name. Tyranitar can’t just use judgement because it can be judgemental, because that’s not what the move does. Dragon Hammer isn’t learned by any draconic Pokémon with the ability to hammer something, because Dragon Hammer isn’t a Dragon type equivalent of Ice Hammer. I'm just not a meta slave, duh. That is pretty much the opposite of what I said. People who refer to Pokémon as “mediocre” fail to see the potential in matchups. “Niche” would be a more fitting term.
  8. This was something i kept in mind a lot when designing the team, especially considering Rock-type moves are boosted and Ice type moves become boosted if you change the field to Snowy mountain. The new team I made for Heather isn't too weak to Rock and Ice types. While she has 3 Flying types, 2 of her Pokémon have Fire type moves and 3 of her Pokémon carry Rock Slide of their own to deal with Ice types, and 4 of her Pokémon have coverage for Rock types, only 3 of her Pokémon are actually weak to Rock, and one of them carries Charti Berry. And considering her 2 (buffed) Tailwind users, along with her very offensive team, even if a Rock or Ice type can get some kills, it takes some strategy to even get the attack off, let alone survive for more than a couple of turns. She also counters Snowy Mountain pretty well since both Togekiss and Talonflame can melt the field back with Heat Wave and Flare Blitz respectively, and even if you get it set up, you've just given Excadrill and Decidueye Ice type coverage, doubled Greninja's Icy Wind power. And even if all of this wasn't true, as you said, with Delta Stream up, these hits are halved if they are super effective. If you look at the lead matchup for example: Let's say you lead of with a Weavile as well as something that can kill Excadrill. Your Weavile can't OHKO Togekiss without Band, so you bring it down to ~10% with an Icicle Crash (with Life Orb), hit the Excadrill with something else to bring it down to it's Sash, after which Heather gets up Tailwind and kills your Weavile with Excadrill's Rock Slide. If you double target Togekiss, Excadrill kills your Weavile. If you double target the Excadrill, Togekiss gets up Tailwind, you can no longer hit it with your Weavile for Super Effective damage, you die to Dazzling Gleam the turn after and Decidueye comes in with a free +1 Attack, is faster than everything and clicks boosted Rock Slide. This is just one scenario, but I'm glad you brought it up because I spent way too long designing this offensive core to deal with any non-advanced counters. I did consider Jynx, but I ultimately came to the conclusion that Jynx fucking sucks, regardless of how much it benefits from terrain. It's not fast enough to outspeed offensive Pokémon, and not bulky enough to survive a hit (35 defense and 6 weaknesses is a notoriously good combo). This means that it will struggle to actually set up Veil without just being OHKO'd by something like a Lycanroc or a Talonflame. It's pretty much forced to have a Sash, and miss out either Magical Seed or Light Clay, so both it's damage and utility is limited. Ice/Fairy/Psychic also just doesn't hit Steel types making it easy to counter lead. I also didn't want to give Anna more than 3 Psychic types (I did this with all of the Elite Four), and the 3 I picked were either more interesting lore wise, better for her team, or both. It already gets the boost from it's seed, and it is too slow to actually sweep, especially considering the field boosts Dark type moves. Gothitelle is mostly here to trap and kill or weaken a threat for Jirachi and Clefable to sweep reliably, if it tried to sweep itself it would just do so worse than the other 2. Rocks don't cripple Jirachi, but Spikes do since it has no way to recover HP and relies on it's good defenses and typing to set up. Swift doesn't hit anything that the other moves don't. It is a lot weaker than Psychic, the same power as Scald (which offers the Burn chance), and only slightly stronger than Signal Beam. Since Normal doesn't hit anything Super Effectively, and the only Pokémon that resist Psychic/Water are either weak to Bug or resist Normal, there is not a single Pokémon that would take the most damage from Swift out of these 4 moves. The only thing it really does is counter Evasion, which seems way too niche. The only coverage move to consider would be Thunderbolt, which hits Empoleon, but it doesn't seem worth it to give up a moveslot to hit 1 Pokémon that can't damage you back. From a gameplay perspective perhaps, but aesthetically it's a pokémon I have a hard time seeing her using.
  9. This is most likely a nod to the fact that Amethyst likes Lopunny, not that her in-game counterpart has one. Or maybe Ame has one on rotation, but either way she wouldn't use it for her Champion battle. Dragon Hammer is a headbutt used by pokémon with long necks, hence it wouldn't make sense for Tyranitar to learn it. Regardless it would be a pretty bad move for a Tyranitar to use. The fields from vanilla aren't treated any differently than the other fields in the game if it was there from the start of the battle, so there is no reason why there couldn't be another field below Starlight Arena. Only one effect can be active at a time, but if that effect is removed there can be a different field underneath. If you use Fire Pledge+Grass Pledge in Ametrine Mountain you will stack a Burning Field on top of an Icy Field. If you then used Surf, it would remove the Burning Field, but instead of there being no field, it will return to an Icy Field. This is the same case in Ame's battle. There is a Starlight Arena on top of a Fairy Tale Field. If the Starlight Arena is removed by setting up weather, then the field would become a Fairy Tale Field. Any experienced player knows how to deal with every move in the game, it's not quite as simple as that. Not exactly. Blake's personality isn't particularly Mamoswine-like in any way, and there is no lore that would imply him having a Mamoswine. This could've just as well have been any strong-looking Ice type, but he has a Mamoswine because, you guessed it, it makes the game more difficult. If difficulty wasn't the main motivator, this could just as well have been a Glailie or a Beartic. All of the sources say "it is said", not that it's true. The games confirm it's not true since it is possible to lose with a Victini on your team. This is very often said by people who don't know how to rate Pokémon. It isn't said because it's an interaction of mechanics that were created separately, not a mechanic itself. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bug, it's just not a feature. I was referring to the team you made. The team I made isn't an easy mode by any means, but it doesn't qualify as a hard mode since it isn't much more difficult than other fights in Reborn, and is probably easier than Lin will be. If I was making a hard mode team, I would give Ame pokémon that fit her less well, but are more difficult to beat, such as a Dusk Mane Necrozma or Xerneas.
  10. I wanted to make the team in line with what could realistically happen in the game, and they are not creating any more field effects, so I wanted to fit a team into the context of the existing field system. Describing Absol as "decent" is way too generous, it doesn't do anything literally every decent Dark type does. Since Ame doesn't have a Lopunny in official lore, it is pretty pointless to put one on her team since her mega is pretty much decided anyways. The issue is that this is main series, and some of the weaker main series champions at that. And even then, Lance, Iris and Wallace are only type specialists because they converted from being Gym Leaders and Elite Four Members. Alder isn't actually a Bug type specialist, he just happens to have 3 Bug types, and if you look at his PWT team he only has 1. And Steven is also not specifically a Steel type trainer, he just likes studying caves and rocks, hence he would naturally have plenty of Steel and Rock types. None of the champions are type specialists just for the sake of being type specialists, it's either because they became League members first and forced into a single type or because it was in line with their character, neither of which is true for Ame. Illegal movesets in Pokémon are typically due to accidents like a coding error or minor inconsistencies like moves being mutually exclusive or unobtainable at a certain level, or moves that are available in a different generation. When a completely illegal move is taught, it is still typically a move that the Pokémon should reasonably be able to learn, such as Water Gun Alomomola. This is something that Reborn also does, and I don't mind it, but when you start to give Pokémon completely different movesets it starts to stray far away from what could reasonably happen in the game. I am aware, I put it as her field in my Elite Four predictions, but it would still only be used for one (1) battle before post-game, which I think fits the description "underused". Exactly this already happens during Adrienn's gym battle. One field effect is in place but another one takes over in case the initial one is removed. Contrary to Adrienn, Ame doesn't actually have a strategy revolving around this, but it is simply put in place to even out the difficulty. No, Encore is a better move than Taunt in almost every situation, and if more Pokémon could learn it Taunt would see a lot less use. I'll create a scenario for you: Imagine you lead off with a bulky sweeper that resists Ice and Fairy, like Swords Dance Mega Mawile. You set up Swords Dance as Ninetales sets up Aurora Veil. If Ninetales uses Taunt, you just kill it and you keep your +2 Mega. Worst case scenario is you got too greedy and it forces you to take a hit, but that's it. If Ninetales uses Encore, you're forced to use Swords Dance 3 more times or switch, and you get 3HKO'd by 182 Base Power Moonblast before you get to even move. Taunt prevents you from setting up, Encore punishes you for setting up. There is a clear distinction, and any experienced player will tell you that the latter is a lot better. Again, giving Ame PULSE2's or other illegal EV's isn't in line with what happens in the rest of the game, and is frankly a really boring way to create difficulty. Anyone who had the unluck of facing that combo in the Gym Battle against Samson, or Gen V Ubers, knows how effective it is. But if the AI is dumb, that can be easily exploitable by - for example - using Trick/Switcheroo with Choice Specs I've grown quite fond of this combination during BDSP OU myself. But for Specs Trick to work you would need to 1. play on switch mode, which is boring, and 2. prepare for the fight in advance. Rejuvenation isn't canon to the Reborn world, so there isn't any reason to draw parallells between the two. There are also several of the Eon duo, as with a lot of legendaries, so there is no reason why they can't both use one. In post-game, several characters will have multiple legendaries, so there is no reason why any of them should be exclusive to any one trainer. That's anime shit, it's obviously not true in the games. It is also *said* to always bring victory, it is a piece of folklore, not a fact about the Pokémon itself. Solaris' Excadrill is just there to make the battle more difficult. Blake's Mamoswine is just there to make the battle more difficult. Fern's Haxorus is just there to make the battle more difficult. They could've had lots of different Pokémon that vaguely fits their character, but these in particular were chosen because, you guessed it, it makes the battle more difficult. That is literally the point of balancing a game, and that is how almost every Pokémon for every trainer is chosen. There doesn't have to be a reason why a trainer has a certain Pokémon, as long as there isn't a reason why they shouldn't have it. It is never stated that legendaries aren't allowed within the Reborn League, or that Ame doesn't have any legendaries, or that Lunala is out somewhere in the wild. There aren't that many guidelines to making teams for trainers other than making sure the fight is difficult enough, and that bar is a lot higher in Reborn than in vanilla. If it was this simple, competitive would be really easy. Once again, this requires you to already have the check out before she sets up, which is unlikely (unless you play on switch mode, but again, ew). And even if you get rid of the boosts with Roar or Haze, you still haven't, you know, beaten the Pokémon. You use 2 turns to switch in, and Haze/Roar, to counter her 1 turn of set up, and likely taking a hit in the process. If you can find a Pokémon that doesn't get 2HKO'd by a set up move into a regular move, let me know, because there is exactly 1 available Pokémon that resists Fire, Psychic and Fairy, and Delphox is not very bulky. The best option for taking neutral hits is Chansey, and even max SpDef Chansey gets 2HKO'D by Stored Power, and has no way to reset Victini's stat boosts. The best defensive check would be SpDef Mandibuzz, which survives 2 Dazzling Gleams and Whirlwinds it out. But even then, you've lost 85% of your Mandibuzz, haven't even damaged the Victini, and you'll just get revenge killed. Extra effects from abilites in field effects are ignored by Mold Breaker. So even though Shadow Shield's regular effect would still be in play, the halfed damage from the Starlight Arena would be ignored. This may or may not be a bug, but it is still worth considering. I don't know if I agree. Considering the point in the game, this fight isn't the highest difficulty peak in Reborn by any means. Giving trainers Legendaries isn't unprecedented, and even happens on several occasions in vanilla. In addition, legendaries=/=difficulty. I am still a lot more scared of Lin's Hydreigon than Ame's Lunala, and Ame also has no reason to use PULSE2's or the most broken field effects etc. If this was insane mode I would have given her better Pokémon, even if they didn't really fit her character quite as well. Maybe a Dusk Mane Necrozma and an Unbound Hoopa. Insane mode is typically just that: the logic is thinner, but the game is harder. The team you made is quite close to vanilla difficulty, but that would be quite the easy mode for Reborn. This is a fairly normal mode, and lots of trainers will have legendaries in Reborn to fit the difficulty requirements.
  11. A few months ago I posted my predictions for the Episode 19 Elite Four run. While I am still pretty happy with most of the teams, looking back, Anna's team is both improbable and pretty dumb. If you haven't seen that post, this was the team I gave her. There were 4 main changes I wanted to make to the team: 1. Ash-Greninja will not be in Episode 19. I knew this before I made the team, but I still put it in out of wishful thinking. However, I've decided that it doesn't really qualify as a "prediction" if I know something isn't going to happen, so I have elected to remove it. 2. The same is true for Victini. While I think it would be cool for her to have one, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense in terms of lore, and hence I am removing it. 3. I wanted either all, half, or none of the Elite Four to be in Double Battles. I still agree with this, as it would feel out of place if just one of the members used a different format than the others. I still believe El is a lot better in Singles, but in my original predictions I made Anna and Laura the two double battles. Looking back, I think Heather's team would be a better fit for a double battle than Anna, since she could make better use of Tailwind, Earthquake and Rock Slide in that case. Her team would need to be changed slightly, but not enough to warrant making another one so I made one anyways. I have hence decided to make Anna a singles battle. 4. Anna will most likely be battled in Starlight Arena, which can be destroyed by setting up any weather. This is a bit too easy for an Elite Four battle, so I have decided to add a secondary Psychic Terrain underneath the Starlight Arena, similarily to how Adrienn has a Fairy Tale Field in case his mist got blown away. With those guidelines in place, here is Anna's new team! PokéPaste Link Starmie @ Magical Seed Ability: Illuminate Level: 102 EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Psychic - Scald - Signal Beam - Rapid Spin This is a Pokémon that a lot of people thought should have been on the team last time, and with good reason. I makes very good use of Starlight Arena, getting +2 Special Attack upon switch-in alone through Illuminate and Magical Seed.I originally intended to run Cosmic Power and Recover to deal with defensive checks such as Ferrothorn and Slowking, but I settled on a more offensive variant since the combination of Psychic, Water and Bug hits everything besides Empoleon for at least neutral damage, and with +2 Special Attack, neutral damage proved to be more than enough. This also left room for Rapid Spin as a lead, which is nice to prevent Whimsicott and Jirachi from getting crippled. Whimsicott @ Focus Sash Ability: Prankster Level: 100 EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold Nature - Nature Power - Leech Seed - Substitute - Encore This set ended up being identical to the previous one, which I didn't notice until I compared the teams. But it makes sense, Whimsicott benefits from not having to run Speed EV's since Nature Power calls Moonblast, which have also been almost doubled in power. SubSeed is always fun for one of the people involved, and Encore is very useful since AI is often easy to set up on. Zoroark @ Magical Seed Ability: Illusion Level: 100 EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Dark Pulse - Flamethrower - Sludge Bomb - Nasty Plot Zoroark will copy Anna's Jirachi, which is very useful to draw out any Ghost and Steel types which would otherwise threaten her team. This team desperately needed a Dark type, and Zoroark was the best option, as well as one of the only ones which wasn't too evil for someone like Anna. The Illusion strategy will unfortunately not work against players who are not playing blind due to the different level and Magical Seed, but it is still sure to catch some people off guard. Gothitelle @ Magical Seed Ability: Shadow Tag Level: 102 EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA Modest Nature - Psychic - Dark Pulse - Signal Beam - Thunder Wave Gothitelle is an interesting Pokémon for Anna to have. A few people, including me, have theorised that the previous Librarian in Beryl Ward, and the owner of the Gothitelle there, is Anna and Noel's mother. I won't get into too much detail about that theory, but it would be very cool to see Anna use that Gothitelle here. It also synergises with her team very well, being able to revenge kill Poison and Ghost types that could threaten her last two team members. Clefable @ Babiri Berry Ability: Magic Guard Level: 102 EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold Nature - Moonblast - Stored Power - Cosmic Power - Moonlight Anna having a Clefable is a neat nod to Noel's Clefable, and some people have even gone as far as to predict that Noel will die in E19, in which case Anna might use his Clefable when battling you. But even without the neat in-universe explanations, Clefable is an absolute monster on Starlight Arena. Moonblast is doubled in power, Stored Power gets a 50% boost along with the doubled boosts from Cosmic Power, and Moonlight heals Clefable for 75%, making this thing perhaps the only thing more obnoxious than Noel's Clefable. Nostra (Jirachi) @ Normalium Z Ability: Serene Grace EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe Naughty Nature - Meteor Mash - Zen Headbutt - Moonblast - Happy Hour This is the one entry that is staying no matter what. I decided to change up the moveset a little bit, however. While that 4x boosted Doom Desire is very tempting, the additional Fire typing means it is 4x resisted by any Water and Fire types, making it lose some of it's potential. I found that a mixed Z-Happy Hour set is the hardest set to take out without suffering heavy losses, especially considering all of it's moves got a sizeable power boost. So that is my updated team for Anna. It's definetely a lot more realistic than the last one, and I'm happier with how it turned out. Any feedback on improvments is obviously appreciated, and thank you all for reading.
  12. So a couple weeks back, Oscarus made this post, with his take on Ame's team if we were to fight her in the game. His team was Absol, Lopunny, Alolan Ninetales, Bisharp, Krookodile and Keldeo. I think this is an interesting team, and I really like the idea of her having a Lopunny and Keldeo. However, I do have a couple of issues with it. First of all, Oscar prioritizes lore over gameplay, which makes sense, since he writes fanfiction. That is perfectly fine, but it isn't the way I personally prefer, and it isn't really what the game does either. For a champion battle in a game like Reborn, this team is way too weak and uncoordinated. Only Absol OR Lopunny can mega evolve, and both of them are very weak without it. She was also made into a Dark type specialist, but her team currently has no resistance to Fighting and Fairy types. Being restricted to having most of your team of one type isn't good for a champion, and even in vanilla Champions typically use a variety of types, with the exceptions of gens 2, 3 and 5. This team also doesn't play off of Reborn's main source of difficulty; Field Effects. But instead of just leaving a comment on why I don't think this team is ideal, I decided to see if I could make my own team. I won't be ignoring lore, but it won't be the main focus of the team, as is a trend with a lot of battles in Reborn. For example, it doesn't make sense for e.g. Corey to have a team of NFE's, but the gameplay requires it. I would also like to mention that while Ame will have a dev battle, as confirmed by Marcello, those are most likely separate from canon lore, so I will just assume that this is an alternate timeline where we battle Ame in as the champion in the main story. There will also be some changes to some field effects in Episode 19, but I'm not taking those into account because I don't know them :). Overall, my idea would be to give Ame the 2 pokémon she is confirmed to have, choose the most appropriate Field Effect, both in terms of gameplay and lore, and then figure out the rest of her team. First off, she is confirmed to have Absol and Alolan Ninetales. The Absol should most definitely be her mega, even though Luna already uses one, because regular absol is kinda sorta fucking terrible. As for a field effect, there is a decent amount of overlap for field effects that benefit both of these pokémon, with those fields being: Dark Crystal Cavern, Mirror Arena, New World Field, Short-Circuit Field, Starlight Arena and Fairy Tale Field. New World Field, although it would be interesting, doesn't fit in terms of lore, Mirror Arena is a bit too, with lack of a better word, vain considering Ame's humble personality. Short-Circuit Field is too common around the game, and also doesn't fit. Dark Crystal Cavern is a bit too niche, like it would never really appear naturally in lore outside of Iolia Valley, and it also sucks about as much as Luna does. That leaves us with Starlight Arena and Fairy Tale Field. That leaves us with Starlight Arena and Fairy Tale Field, both of which fit Ame relatively well and are very strong field effects. I had originally chose Fairy Tale Field, since it benefits Absol a lot more and allows Ninetales to keep Snow Warning, which would destroy Starlight Arena. However, Starlight Arena allows Ninetales to set up Aurora Veil without hail, allowed for some other interesting options for teammates, and isn't as abusable by the player. It also has a fabulous battle background that is criminally underused, and I think it fits Ame a little better. I would like to mention that Starlight Arena can be destroyed by simply setting up weather, and Reborn players fucking love weather teams, and completely cheesing a champion fight that easily is a big no-no. So I took a leaf out of Adrienn's book and decided to just stack a Fairy Tale field underneath this one. It is a bit boring to use the exact same secondary field as Adrienn, but as I said, Fairy Tale field was the second best fit, and it can conveniently not be altered by any mean, which further cheese-proofs the team. So, I believe Ame should be fought on the Starlight Arena. I chose to design the team for singles for the sake of simplicty, but you could go either way with the format. So, with a focus on creating a stronger and more balanced team suitable for a Champion, here is my take on Ame's Champion Team: (It is assumed that all of her pokémon have perfect IV's with benefitial EV's and Natures, so I excluded them for the most par for the sake of shortening the post) Alolan Ninetales Item: Light Clay Ability: Snow Cloak Moves: - Moonblast - Aurora Beam - Aurora Veil - Encore The first obvious entry. This is a fairly regular supportive Aurora Veil Ninetales set, which is incredibly helpful considering the rest of Ame's team is full of set-up sweepers. The only irregular thing is that it is forced to run Snow Cloak in order to not destroy the field effect, but it doesn't hinder it much considering the fact that it can set up Aurora Veil without hail on Starlight Arena. It also gets a slight boost to it's ice type STAB, but more importantly a whopping 1.95x boost to Moonblast. Encore rounds out the set nicely, by preventing something that resists its attacks from setting up too much. Mega Absol Item: Absolite Ability: Justified Moves: - Knock Off - Sucker Punch - Superpower - Swords Dance Mega Absol appreciates the boost to it's Dark type moves. They also become part Fairy type, which comes with both benefits and restrictions. It can no longer be checked defensively by Dark and Fighting types, but in turn it means that Absol has no means of hitting Poison and Fairy types for neutral damage. With the 1.5x boost and Mega Absol's naturally high attack though, even a resisted hit will not be taken too well. Lucario Item: Focus Sash Ability: Steadfast Moves: - Meteor Mash - Close Combat - Extreme Speed - Swords Dance At first glance this Pokémon is not very strong compared to the rest of Ame's team. However, not only does it put some pressure on Dark and Fairy types, which are otherwise very strong on this field, but Meteor Mash is doubled in power on Starlight Arena. It is guaranteed to survive a hit due to it's Focus Sash, and 180 Base Power Meteor Mash is pretty difficult to switch into. Besides that, it has some decent sweeping potential with Swords Dance and Extreme Speed. Latias Item: Magical Seed Ability: Levitate Moves: - Draco Meteor - Psyshock - Calm Mind - Healing Wish Yes, I gave her legendaries, this is a champion fight, it's fine. The Eon duo are among the Pokémon that benefit the most from the Starlight Arena, with the boost 1.5x Boost to Psychic type moves and 2x Boost to Draco Meteor making you think you're playing Gen 5 OU again. The magical seed also offers a free +1 Special Attack, and Latias is bulky enough to even set up. The main weakness for Latias is it's newly aquired 4x weakness to Dark, so I gave it Healing Wish as an escape button since it boosts up it's teammates on this field. I also predicted Lin to have a Latios on her team, so it is fitting that Ame would have its more defensive counterpart. Victini Item: Normalium Z Ability: Victory Star Moves: - Searing Shot - Stored Power - Dazzling Gleam - Celebrate This entry shouldn't be surprising to anyone who knows of the effects of Starlight Arena. Victory Star boosts all of Victini's moves by 50%, on top of the 50% boost to Psychic type moves. Searing Shot is a reliable, 100 base power Fire type STAB, and Dazzling Gleam provides coverage for Dark types, a type which Victini is also no longer weak to. The main danger of this set however is the omni-boost from Z-Celebrate. In combination with the omni-boost, the boost to Psychic type moves and the boost from Victory Star, Stored Power reaches an effective Base Power of 405 with only 1 turn of setup. Lunala Item: Lum Berry Ability: Shadow Shield Moves: - Moongeist Beam - Moonblast - Calm Mind - Moonlight I wasn't sure on whether or not this was one step too deep into the broken shit rabbit holeTM, but I realised that this is still probably easier than the fly swatter that is Lin's Arc-PULSE anyways so I decided to include it. Shadow Shield halves all incoming damage on Starlight Arena IN ADDITION to it's regular effect. Both Moonblast and Moongeist Beam effectively double in power due to the field effect, and Moonlight provides 75% healing, meaning Shadow Shield will almost always be active. I was very conflicted on whether or not this should have Calm Mind or the doubled Cosmic Power. The more offensive variant leaves Lunala more vulnerable to terrain boosted Dark and Ghost type moves, but the more defensive variant could most likely just get stalled out by a Specially Defensive pokémon, especially due to Moongeist Beam's low HP. I decided to settle for the more offensive variant, since with the boosted Shadow Shield and potentially Aurora Veil being set up Lunala could likely survive even a 6x effective move and fire back with an OHKO. This set could a lot of different EV spreads to survive certain hits or be fast enoug to outrun certain threats. It could run 56 Speed EV's to outspeed Pokémon like Tyranitar and Incineroar, 144 Speed to outspeed Mega Tyranitar, Honchkrow, Bisharp and Decidueye, 228 Speed to outspeed Chandelure and Mega Gyarados (which is especially scary due to Mold Breaker), or simply run max speed to outspeed Mimikyu, Drapion and Krookodile. What I'm trying to say is this Pokémon has way too many options and is way too broken. So anyways, that's my take on if we fought Ame as the champion. I wanted to try and choose Pokémon that were not just strong, but either kind or serene to suit Ame's personality, and I think I struck a solid balance. It's hard to tell what level of difficulty is suitable since Episode 19 isn't out, so I sort of had to guess the level. Thank you all for reading, and lmk what could be improved about this team!
  13. While this is something I can totally see Ame doing because she wants us all to suffer it would create some issues since the people who continued E18 would still have it.
  14. Well that applies to every Ice Type move in the game regardless of whether we have Ice Beam or not. I’m more so surprised that they gave us Icium Z at this point.
  15. I mean Ice Beam isn't even that good against Saphira right? Since both Dragon's Den and Multiscale cuts it in half, it's only super effective against like Garchomp, since I doubt she will have a Salamence or Mega Sceptile.
  16. Bennet gets a decent glow up in the Glass Factory, and drops out of Meteor. He also sorts out his hair and his new trainer sprite looks fine as hell. I would imagine he will be a lot more likeable in E19. I also hope we don’t fight these 2 in the Elite Four, but I would like to see it as a post game battle. Edit: Here is the new Bennett Sprite, Ame revealed it on stream a few weeks ago.
  17. So I made this because it's useful for a thing I'm looking into (don't ask), thought I'd post it in case anyone else could find some use for it. 18. Good take, I have considered all of them before. Both Alakazam and Starmie were actually part of previous drafts of Anna’s team, but rejected the ideas for the following reasons: I know there won’t be an Ash Gren, I partially put it there to protest that fact. Anna also desperately needed a Dark type, and this one fit her the best by far. Starmie was mostly rejected because Heather needed it more compositionally, and because Anna had plenty of water type options. Alakazam was originally on Anna’s team, but I decided that I wanted each member to have a Z-Move OR a Mega to keep them consistent with each other and the rest of the game, and Z-Hold Hands was just more interesting. Also, Gothitelle is one of the best doubles Pokémon out there, if you played Gen 7 VGC you will know this all too well. And it might line up with the librarian lore depending on the story, and I didn’t want to run too many psychic types, since they share a lot of weaknesses. Victini is indeed pretty out there, but that Victory Star was just too juicy to pass on. Skarmory is a decent option, however suicide lead Skarmory doesn’t fill quite the same role as Lead Excadrill does. Skarmory is designed to get up as much hazards as possible, typically through Sturdy+Custap or similar. It doesn’t typically keep hazards off though, since it would need to Defog it’s own hazards to do so. Excadrill can spin while keeping its own hazards up, which is more important for a team as rock weak as Heather’s. Excadrill also isn’t setup fodder for Electric and Rock types, so it covers her team better overall. Skarmory is a flying type, yes, but she already has 3 of those, all of which benefit the team more in my opinion.
  19. I agree. While pretty much all trainers have a type they specialise in, they aren't really restricted to that type, even though they have a few of them (with the exception of gym leaders). Mono type Elite 4 members would be really boring. Have you finished playing E18? Most of the LauraBennett stuff comes from there. If you haven't, massive spoliers below:
  20. Well as you can see in the post above, the El team I suggested is by no means slow. And we can’t really assume that he will only use Normal types, since there are like 4 options that actually fit him in-universe. If we make him mono-normal we are effectively ignoring the fact that it has to make sense for El to own these Pokémon, with the Normal typing being the only criteria, and in that case he could also use faster Pokémon like Mega Kangaskhan and Staraptor.
  21. The only Mega that would fit the terrain well is Venusaur, and Mega Venusaur is unfortunately just worse than regular Venusaur due to the fact that it loses Overgrow or Chlorophyll. And it loses the broken Elemental Seed. BennetLaura wouldn’t be fought on Grassy Terrain, they would be fought on Flower Garden, which doesn’t affect Earthquake. Earthquake is also helpful against Steel and Fire types.
  22. Well the only Trainers we have seen that have mono-types teams are the gym leaders. The rivals are supposed to be Grass, Poison and Fighting type trainers, yet all of them have 2 or 3 Pokémon of that type. We haven’t seen anyone really restricted to their types besides the gym leaders, because there is specifically a gym leader if each type. There aren’t 18 Elite Four members, so there isn’t a reason for them to be Mono-typed. All characters in this game have primary typings to give them more of a character, but they aren’t limited to it. As for your example with Radomus, the differences you are missing are that Radomus is fought at level 60, relatively early on in the game when the player still has limited options. And this fight is still one of the most cheesable in the game. Second, Chess Arena boosts Trick Room to 8 turns, Holy Field doesn’t. And most of the Normal types such as Snorlax and Porygon2 don’t fit El’s religious theme whatsoever. And Pangoro isn’t a Normal Type. And Physical attackers don’t really benefit from the field whatsoever. As for Ash-Greninja, I’m just hoping Ame changes her mind :/. It could just be a different Water type like Milotic or Starmie otherwise.
  23. Yeah, I made my initial predictions quite a long time ago as well. I've made quite a lot of changes since then, until it reached a point where I just calced things to figure out whether offesive or defensive investment would be more worth it for any given Pokémon.
  24. With Episode 19 around the corner, the part of it that we are able to predict with relative accuracy is everything up until the Champion, at least gameplay wise. I think it's fair to assume that we will battle Saphira, some Team Meteor Admins, the 2 (or 3, or like 15 if we count PULSE-2s) remaining PULSEs, the Elite Four and Lin. So I wanted to create a hypothetical teams for E19 because I'm impatient and have nothing better to do for fun. I'll be adding some explanations to my Pokémon and Moveset Changes, both in and out of universe, as well as some other options I considered. First off, some clarifications: 1. We already know 2/4 Elite Four members for certain; El and Heather. The third one is going to be Laura, although some people (including me) have thought that we might fight Laura and Bennet as a 12v6. While this could definitely happen story wise, for the sake of consistency I'll only be doing Laura for the sake of consistency with the rest of the members. If anyone is curious, this is what I think a battle against them both would look like. However, I do find this unlikely because, according to Marcello, Laura has a 97.2% win rate. This would be quite a bit higher if we fought a 12v6, assuming the statistic would count them both, and quite a bit lower if it only counts Laura's team that is designed to only fight half the battle. 1.1. I, as well as most people who have theorized for Episode 19, believe that the last Elite Four member will be Anna. I won't go into too much detail as to why, but it is implied that she has gotten some important position thanks to Shade, and she has one of the 4 keys, which all the other E4 members do as well. 2. I do not believe the Elite Four members will be mono-typed. That is simply too limiting for trainers this late into the game, especially since some of them use fairly weak typings. I still wanted them to have 1 primary type, so exactly half of their teams will be of their main type (Flying, Grass, Psychic and Normal). 3. The members are in no particular order. I don't really have a theory on what order we will fight these guys in, except maybe the order of the keys they're holding. 4. I used Pokémon Showdown to make these teams, hence the Pokémon that would be holding Magical and Synthetic Seeds are holding Psychic and Grassy Seeds instead to not fuck with PokéPaste. I also gave the the trainers 1 shiny each that I thought looked cool in game. 5. These are all made under the assumption that the player will be capped to level 100. We know that Reborn will go past the level 100 limit post-game, but since the cap is currently 95, it will probably be 100 once we defeat Saphira. I will, however, allow the Elite 4 members to have a combined 6 levels above the cap, and their aces will all be level 105 as well (with 1 exception). Because fuck you, this is Reborn, multiple Gym Leaders already did this. With way too much explaining out of the way, here go the actual teams: Heather: Laura: Anna: El: So that's the Elite Four. I don't really know how to sum this up. The league looks like hell. Unless you use Steel types. Like always. I'll probably do separate posts with Saphira, Lin and Meteor Admins sometime soon.
  25. Cherrim is definitely good on her field, but it just doesn’t do anything that Lilligant, Venusaur and Roserade doesn’t do better. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had one, she would just be better off if she had other Pokémon.
