Yeah, but while he knows from his viewers that this point of no return exists, he doesn't know where exactly it is, only that it is close to where he is in terms of story progression.

He at least knows how to recognize it if he read my comment on the previous episode (episode 16).

I explained vaguely as not to spoil that it's marked by Cain questioning the player about moving on because "we might not be able to go back for a while" and warned him that some of the quests and encounters he still hasn't done (i.e The Mystery Egg) will be gone forever after the point of no return.
Buuuuut the likelihood that he read it is admittedly pretty slim.

As he finished the Sanctum in one episode, if he continues at that pace, he'll probably be there in the next two or three.

Yes, but the lockout won't happen until after he beat Luna, which of course he doesn't know yet. But the game is nice enough to tell you that you can't go back if you are trying to pass Agate checkpoint, so i'm sure even he can't miss the fact that this is the point of no return once he makes it that far. Although he still has to make his way through the Subseven Sanctum, and that one not only is a Labyrinth where you must avoid to be seen by El's cultists, but also you must solve puzzles regarding the "Arcues bible".

So he's got his work cut out for him. Unless the next episode is a long one he might need 2 episodes for the Subseven Sanctum alone XD

And after that he still needs to make his way through Iolia Valley and beat Luna before he reaches the point of no return.

Of course, but he's already been considering it which is smart.

This man is in for a surprise if he really thinks 8 badges is even CLOSE to the end. He should know that at least Amaria, Charlotte, Luna, Hardy, Adrienn and Saphira are gym leaders of Reborn that he hasn't faced off against yet. So what makes him think he's "in the end game" now? And he has not met Titania, Ciel, Samson and T3RR4WWWW yet, who would be the remaning leaders for a complete set of 18.

Well with the exception of Gen two, 8 badges is the mainstream but I concur.

As he's met at least 6 characters he still hasn't battled but have bluntly identified themselves or been bluntly identified by another as gym leaders (Amaria, Luna, Charlotte, Hardy, Adrienn and Saphira, not to mention he's got his Fury Badge to supplement and I believe Victoria had mentioned Samson by name when she said she'd notify Ame to get him set up after Kiki's death), to call 8 badges an "end game" it's rather obvious that he's still under halfway albeit just barely.

Unless he was talking about the arc beyond the Agate checkpoint. He did briefly talk about it here with a 'new saga' type of reference and he seems to understand that it will lock him out of his current area range.

Well, Rejuvenation currently has 14 badges, and is 12/16 in terms of version releases, so it's got a bit further to go but there's plenty there.

I'm definitely going to recommend he play Rejuvenation eventually, but I'll make sure he understands both the scope and current completeness of the game, along with the different difficulties.
And who knows, I might lose the connection I do have when Reborn finishes anyway.

I appreciate those details. I've not played Rejuv yet, though I just downloaded it a bit ago.
I definitely would love to see him play Rejuv, just under the right circumstances.

You can spent those points on some nice rewards, like the so-called "golden items" which can be used to do HM things like Cut or Surf without teaching the HM to any of your Pokémon.

I'm ever so grateful that even the official games have gotten rid of the HMs.

This one sounds similar to that which Insurgence uses.
Ex. There is an 'Instant Lapras', a Sun/Moon-esque ride to function as Surf, a Pika Taxi to function as Fly which can later be upgraded to function as the Lati Soar in ORAS and Scuba Gear to function as Dive.
The Strength and Rock Smash over world functions are actually fulfilled by common moves naturally learned such as Bulk Up or Bulldoze functioning as Strength and Double Kick functioning as Rock Smash.

I appreciate Reborn's system that allows one to overwrite the HM moves by downgrading them to an in-between category instead of the HM category just as well.

As long as I'm not stuck with them in my Pokemon movesets I'm happy.

It also features "Shadow Pokémon", something you might remember if you ever played the two Pokémon Colosseum games on the Game Cube.

Unfortunately, I never even owned a Game Cube. I wanted one badly but couldn't manage to badger it out my mom as I did my PS2 and N64.
I was able to play Game Cube games at my best friend's house but she never had the Colosseums, the games we played were the Mario Parties and Smash Bros Melee.

I've heard of the Shadow Pokemon though, and a Youtuber called PokeTips includes shadow sprites in his randomizes. They're so badass!

I've also read that the relationship points in Rejuvenation are a lot more important than in Reborn because they actually represent how much the characters trust you which if true would make things a lot more interesting.

That's a really big commitment and I'm not entirely sure we should push a massive project on a guy after dealing with this behemoth because it has to be so tiring doing all these edits per video. I think I might bug dream to give him a couple one off videos or projects people might like seeing. Rejuv is another huge commitment so doing stuff to avoid burnout might be more important.

A little late here but there have been like 5 new responses to this thread since I started composing this.
    I concur with this concern.
Personally, I sometimes need stop and take time to relax after just one gym or boss battle in Reborn alone, that's how stressful this game is even without rules or an audience, hence the level of pressure we'd be putting on him to go from one entire intense game to another would be borderline abusive.

That aside, in addition, from what I'm reading here, apparently Rejuv isn't even half as complete as Reborn and we wouldn't want any more hiatuses than necessary in between development updates. Not to mention the time that would allow for him to forget about the game.

I believe you can also have Rockruff by this point

Yes you can. They're available on route 2, albeit they are a 4% encounter.
I used a Lyconroc to set up Stealth Rocks against Charlotte.

The easiest way to find your last save file is to look for a file named Game.rxdata, located in a folder referencing Pokémon Reborn, which is the one read by the game itself when you start it. If you don't find it, you can still search for older saves, which will have the same ending (.rxdata) and iirc a name consisting in your PC name, the badges your PC had when saved, and the time played, I think.

Keep in mind that other games may also use Game.rxdata savefiles (e.g. I know Rejuvenation does, and probably any game made with RPG Maker) so make sure the file you found is in the Pokémon Reborn Folder.

Here is a visual of what is described in the above IF you're playing on Windows 10:

To see TTar win Radomus in one try makes me seethe. I love the playthrough, but this was one of my hardest gym battles. He gets off a Sing and Slowking threw that battle and it's all over. It's not supposed to be like that! 😓

    I feel you bro.
Radomus was among my hardest as well, I had to spend time and multiple trips back and forth to Reborn City on not one but TWO happiness evolutions for that battle and I loath happiness evolution.

Slowking throwing that battle was just unreal!

I wonder if we can get him to play Rejuvenation next, after he finishes Reborn (as far as EP18 goes that is). And of course we need him to go back to Reborn once EP19 is released, and back to Rejuvenation once there are new releases of that one as well XD.

    I certainly hope so.
I still need to play Rejuvenation myself. Does one need to complete through ep 18 of Reborn to understand it? It's a sequel is it not?

Although i guess it is not a matter of patience, but rather a matter of sloth XD I often get that feeling that a lot of people don't want to use their brains in the first place. And why should they? With the convenience of guides and walkthroughs available only a few days after a game releases, why bother trying to figure out what to do by yourself?

Not to mention folks just want to get on with the game/plot, not spend hours "beating around the bush" so to speak with a puzzle.
Admittedly, I'm speaking here as someone who does make an honest attempt at them but frustrates easily.

The Vanhanen Castle one is the one exception, not to just for me but to the entire perception that using a guide is lazy since for one without any knowledge/understanding of chess, the option to figure it out oneself does not exist.
I even attempted to get an explanation from Elias but still didn't understand.
Ttar was able to do it regardless of how long it took him because he seemed to have at least a basic understanding of chess.

Now taking bets on how long it takes him to figure out that he needs to talk to Archer to access 7th Street and then what to do to on 7th Street to trigger the event not counting leisure exploration (I actually had to Google the latter myself). 😏

  10. Was that battle for real?
Was that a strategy he used right there?! O_O

Frick, the length of time it took for Slowking to use Trick Room, I'm telling you The Peeko rigs these games for him!

As for the puzzle, I had to use a YT video for this one. I've never played chess in my life, I don't know a thing about it.

That's the second time he pulled of a fight that most people would just accept a forced lose or win by using Prankster Perish Song Murkrow......

Or Quick Claw Perish Song Kriketune.

That Sand Attack had to be ridiculous luck, remember when he tried to Sand Attack spam ZEL's Umbreon, I believe it was in the PULSE Muk battle, with no successful accuracy loss and shouting "WHY ARE YOU STILL HITTING!"
Still this dude does tend to have luck with Sand Attack that is usually exclusive to the AI in my experience. He made it work with Garchomp as well.

My theory is that The Peeko rigs the games for him.

I'm looking quite forward to how he's gonna handle the Radomus battle no doubt without stopping Trick Room. Slowking in particular is pretty damn nasty with Trick Room active.
I foiled it with a Fake Out and Taunt Alolan Persian. Yes this is a gamble with his load of fighting moves but perhaps some of Ttar's luck rubbed off on me as he preferred to spam Strength on me and my Alolan Persian was able to survive one enabling it to be able to Taunt Slowking before going down.

  12. So the roulette now only occurs when he blacks out?
That's a lot better because it doesn't kill off Pokemon consistently and inevitably but what is this "weakest link" bit? That seems rather subjective to me.

I was glad that he checked out the dialogue produced when siding with El, I was never even leaning towards him but was curious.
Man I wonder if he would have considered sticking with El if he knew winning the Ditteus battle would've been optional?

To make it short, Nostradamus was a man who lived in the 16th century who was, among other things, famous for beeing a seer who made a lot of prophecies about the future. These prophecies could be interpreted in many ways becuase they are very metaphoric. His prophecies cover a lot of things that are going to happen all the way up to the year 3797, as he himself once said. He was famous as a seer to a degree that the name Nostradamus is associated to everything about seeing the future to this day.

He could see from the 16th century all the way to the 22nd? Wow.
That would make this man the most powerful seer there's ever been. It's no wonder he's so famous.

Sidenote: the description says "the rules are changing next episode" or something to that effect, so the roulette might be dead

Ah, I hadn't caught that but there are several complaints in the comments that he's still basically Nuzlocking because the only Nuzlocke rule he's eliminated is that losing a battle means game over and that he's actually doing himself more damage with the roulette because it kills off Pokemon inevitably and steadily.

He really does need to allow himself more freedom if he's going to survive the more difficult arcs he'll be facing in the near future (ie: Charlotte, Blake, Glitch World and the raid on Amaria's and Titania's house, just finished the latter myself and that chain of double battles is a bit of a nightmare).

I know that Radomus is supposed to be a reference to Nostradamus, but with the hat that he wears when you actually fight him i think he looks more like the Mad Hatter

I don't know what Nostradamus is but I thought Mad Hatter as well. Indeed he fits well with Luna's Alice in Wonderland theme.
As does Gossip Gardevior, she's very Cheshire Cat like.

  15. 3 hours ago, DreamblitzX said:

Seems like he's got the little 'mystery' mostly sussed. Assuming gardevoir is being manipulated by El is pretty normal and not far off.

Agreed, that El was the true brain washing master and had brain washed Gardevior was my original theory.
I never trusted Dittovior's Radmous trash talking.

...Even if he has some trouble actually identifying people. I think that's the first time I've seen someone think radomus was a woman

It's a bit understandable considering the hat he's wearing when first encountered. It sorta looks like long hair.

That difference is currently the biggest game changer of the game, and it would boil down to your character valuing more ideals (I think, battling Taka to maintain his idea and his position in team meteor, which would allow another character to still believe in ideas which could be beautiful but fake) or truth (not battling Taka to make him face reality, that's when you end up finding him later, while making another character tragically face cold and harsh truth.

I very much like the way you've put it.
Now my choice is 100% clear. I am a woman of truth. Reshiram it is.

But I didn't get the rain dance tm, what nearby can learn it?

I didn't get the TM either so it was fortunate I caught a Quagsire on Azurine Island desperate for water types for the Aster/Eclipse battle.
Unfortunately the pond on route 4 outside Calcenon City doesn't allow fishing though supposedly it once did and Finneon/Lumineon could be captured but you might have had to go all the way back to the circus to get Rain Dance on them from the move relearner.

If you can't use Rain Dance, then I'm not sure where to steer you. Sorry.

Do you lose points with heather for saying no?

Yes, if you don't battle Connal at Yureyu it's:
    -1 Cain, -1 Heather +1 Connal

There is a relationship points list here:

I am now a bit torn at the choice of whether or not to battle Taka at the Water Plant.
I'm not actually there quite yet, I still have to solve a puzzle or two after defeating PULSE Swalot but have been researching the choice throughout the entire event.

    Spoiler

    Spoiler

I'm leaning more towards the Reshiram route because while he did free us from the Nuzleaf cage IF you don't beg Fern so part of me wants to help him, refusing apparently gives the choice of having him as a partner in a later event which in turn produces more backstory on the Meteor characters and a darker but arguably better outcome for Titania and Amaria.
The one downfall is that Taka is killed down the line by Titania in a tragic case of mistaken identity (She thinks he's Lin).

Plus you're not really getting out of a boss battle. You battle him either way, it's just later in Reshiram.

I've also read that in Zekrom, where you DO battle him at the Water Plant enables him to run away and hide from Solaris rather than stand up for his beliefs and if that's the case I don't want to help him be a coward.

Btw.....WHY does he call Amaria "Ametwo" all the time? What is that? Every time he calls her Ametwo there is this image plopping into my head.....

*shrug*, why does he call Solaris Samuel-aloris?
    Dude's just on something I think. 😂

That image is great BTW, ironic for me since I just beat Terra yesterday, so had to battle Gen One Mewtwo which I never knew was so damn hard without the Dark type because I always used the Master Ball so really smart experience right there.
