I think Solaris fight shouldn't count under the BS clause, since it was supposed to be an impossible fight that people managed to cheese out with very specific strats)

Yes, he's used the impossible battle clause for the Hau battles in his Extreme Sun Randomizer Nuzlocke.

he could either cancel the Nuzlocke right then and there (which, in all honesty, would probably just be because he isn't enjoying it much anymore anyway)

Agreed, if he quits the Nuzlocke, it's gonna be on his own terms, when he reaches his limit because the viewers have been advising him to since the beginning so he should know that no one would judge him, which on some level I have to respect even though this is positive peer pressure.

I must wonder as well if he continues the Nuzlocke, how much farther he'll be able to get with just one of his three pillars left (Kiki).
I'm in the same place he is so I know little of what's to come but I do know there is a Solaris battle upcoming and if he's a dragon user as I suspect, Ttar might be in serious trouble.

    UPDATE:
Oh shit. I just read the 411 on the first Solaris battle. It's an impossible battle that you're expected to lose but knowing Ttar he's not gonna get that right away and freak.
Anyone who's watched his other series knows what I'm talking about.

I think generally when you hear stuff like "I hate this" or "I don't want to do this anymore" it's an in-the-moment emotional statement rather than actual overall opinion, but I am a little worried about a sort of slow buildup of fatigue that nuzlockeing reborn on video seems to create (mostly from grinding and losing pokemon)

I concur. I don't know how he's managed it thus far.

While most such negative comments are generally in-the-moment, considering from personal experience how stressful the boss battles in this game are even when NOT nuzlocking, this could be more serious.

I vaguely considered quitting after losing to Shelly at least 4 times but the story is so well developed and compelling that proceeding to get it from a third-party source wasn't gonna cut it for me.
For Ttar, however, particularly since losing Tiki, it seems to be just the viewers that keep him going.

In fact, some of his choices in this game such as the stat war with Hitmonlee in this last episode, are so blatantly stupid that I'm suddenly wondering if he does stuff like that intentionally for entertainment or dramatization.
That's the thing, in his case he's obligated to not only figure out what works but what's entertaining since he's playing for an audience.

Yeah that stat war against Hitmonlee was probably the height of T3's stupidity so far. At least we won't be seeing that again -_-.

Indeed, the end of the Stockpile stall is a benefit to losing Belly.
It also makes me cringe every time he spams Kiki's sand attack and then gets pissed when the opponent continues to hit.
Accuracy lowering moves might be a beast on the AI's side but have been ass on the player's side since the beginning of Pokemon games.

  5. *sigh*
Why didn't he just sweep with Karen and Wanja remained forgotten even though he actually went into his box to withdraw a new team member and scrolled over it! He didn't need a damn fodder Pokemon!

He also wasted a lot of turns Stockpiling against Hitmonlee, he invited the thing to spam Meditate.

Another death in vain as Tiki's was.
Welp at least the timing was convenient, now KIki is his Yawn Pokemon.

BTW, this made me wanna watch his Insurgence series now and play it.

So, does anyone want to bet that Hitmonlee is going to kill himself with HJK?

Or he'll have my experience and Hitmonlee won't EVER use HJK.

After leading with Fake Out it would opt for Knock Off probably because I used my Swanna so if he uses Jacques rather than Kiki--

I don't know how you feel about mods, but there's one that produces and hatches eggs immediately - without hours of running. For some - me included - that kinda feels like cheating though. I'd rather "earn" my shinies.

I've not attempted to breed in Reborn yet but I am among those that consider this cheating. Even if I had any idea how to use mods for this game I wouldn't.
Now, I'm not gonna lie (I never do), I am NOT above using cheat devices but after my first experience with Gamesharking 1st and 2nd gen, I've adopted a policy of never doing it on the first playthrough.

Running doesn't take hours, it's pretty fast actually. I hatched my Swanna in 1 or 2 minutes just running.
Once you get to the Lapis Ward though you can get a bike from the old woman gang sidequest.

  8. I'm all caught up.
I've just beaten Kiki and now am looking forward to Ttar's Kiki battle.
For only the second time in the game I'm probably gonna have to start using Common Candies because my Swanna is about to over level from having been my Cal broom.

I think we might get a Kiki vs Kiki where Kiki will beat Kiki 😜

That might take a miracle since Mightyena is weak to fighting but knowing Ttar's luck, it might just happen. It would certainly be symbolic especially since Kiki the gym leader collapses after the battle.
Right now Karen and Jacques are his strongest players against Kiki, hopefully, he gets Karen evolved and leveled up.
Shame he seems to have forgotten about Wanja, a Swoobat was my Kiki broom.

  9. Update:
    I got him.
Mightyena and Klang did the job, albeit barely. Neither was able to outspeed him and I had to use a super potion and a hyper potion to keep Klang in the game through Mimikyu which interestingly just spammed Discharge the whole time, it didn't even bother with Swords Dance.

He also changed up his order on me, he sent out Rotom second, Mimikyu third and Banette last.

  10. I'm afraid to ask how old you think I am 😅, but no, most certainly not.
I'd never taken a liking to either line. This isn't the first time that has happened though.
I have a Shiny Mudsdale in Moon that I had not expected to use much but he ended up being a key member of my team and is amongst my hall of famers.

Right you don’t have the move discharge amongst your pokemon.

I assumed you had an ampharos to change the field between short circuit into factory field

Ah. I did with Pikachu but I've now swapped it out for Klink.

  12. 9 hours ago, Metadeth said:

I recall you mentioning having a Klink. An option would be to evolve it, set it up, and Gear Grind the damn thing.

You can also work in a Mightyena with Intimidate or a Moxie sweeper set, whichever you prefer.

I do have a Kilnk. I had to box it in favor of Ampharos for Shelly.
My Mightyena has Moxie which definitely would boost my sweeping power if it can resist his electricity.  Currently, her strongest Dark move is Assurance.
So Mightyena and Klang it is.

    6 hours ago, Anti-loser said:

‘The nature power move in the factory field should actually be gear grind

So anyone of your mon with nature power and the right investment can easily swoop in and deletus that Mimikyu

This isn't the Factory Field it's the Short-Circuit Field which is similar but has a darkness aspect that boosts ghost moves and the Nature Power is Discharge.

For those who are curious the rest of the team I was going in with was:
    Swanna
    Pikachu
    Garbodor

Garbodor's Aftermath has done some sweet damage to Mimikyu but then it uses a damn Sitrus Berry.

  13. Me again. Sorry.

I'm battling Shade now and he's actually pretty easy for the most part.

He starts with Gengar. I lead with Beware.
Gengar uses Thunderbolt and Beware sweeps it with Payback.

    Next is Banette.
I swap out for my own Banette and One-Hit KO it with a field-powered Shadow Ball.

    Third is Rotom.
I keep Banette in and get it down to about a quarter of it's HP with Sucker Punch. Unfortunately, Banette then goes down with a Shadow Ball.
I send Beware out again and finish Rotom with two or three Paypacks as Shade Hyper Potions Rotom and the damn thing has leftovers.

    This is where he varies.
His 4th Pokemon is sometimes Dhelmise, sometimes Mimikyu.
Dhelmise is any easy sweep with two Flame Bursts from my Charizard and I expect the same for Dublade though I've not battled it yet as his 4th Pokemon has always been one of the two.

That damn Mimikyu with Swords Dance is where I run into trouble!
How do I get rid of that thing?

Ability capsule shifts from one ability to another, as you have noticed when changing from gluttony to quick feet. Using another ability capsule would change quick feet to pickup. The ability shuffling order is always the same.

Yeah I figured, just wanted to be sure.
Well guess I'm outta luck. No biggie, it was hard choosing between Zigzagoon and Stuffle and now this makes it easy.

  15. I know I've been creating a lot of question threads rather frequently, I hope this isn't annoying anyone.

Remember that Zigzagoon that you rescue from those punks on the Opal Bridge?
Well now that I've evolved Pichu, I'm hoping to finally train that Zigzagoon up as my pickup Pokemon in place of my Meowth since Linoone hangs on to it so I don't have to worry about frequently having to stop it from evolving.

However, right now the Zigzagoon has Gluttony.
I've made a save and used my only ability capsule on it (the one from the mother who lost her son in the Obsitia Ward, unfortunately, I ignorantly missed the one in front of the factory) but it shuffles the ability to Quick Feet.
I reset the game 3 times and tried it again but each time it shuffled to Quick Feet.

To be honest, I've never used an ability capsule before, hell, I've never owned one before, not even in the canon games. I actually didn't know of their existence until I watched Ttar's Alpha Sapphire Randomizer. XD
Is this happening because the shuffle order is always the same, meaning I'd have to use two ability capsules to get pickup? Or can I continue to reset and eventually it'll shuffle to pickup?

Common candies only lower the level of the mons you don't want to over level from the level cap you are at. Also, Pikachu learns thunderbolt at level 42, not 25. Pokemon Reborn uses the USUM moveset for it.

Sweet, that's very helpful to know.
Although I haven't looked at Pikachu I've been using Serebii's BW dex since it's the base game design-wise and thus far what I've referred to it for has been mostly accurate so I would not have thought to check another gen.

  17. I've thought of that but wouldn't common candies reduce happiness considering it forcibly weakens them?

Plus I only have 2, so not enough to get it back down below level 25.

  18. I'm training the Pichu from the Onix Ward Rooftop Garden.
I loath happiness evolution but I love me some Pikachu and even more so some Raichu and so far this static Pichu seems to be the only access.

I've taken it to both Salon ladies, given it the Soothe Belle, used two Oran Berries and Lemonade to heal it instead of the Pokemon center and haven't allowed it to faint though that has required a lot of saving and resetting the game due to Pursuit and the amount of recoil damage received from Volt Tackle.

Yet it's still "just starting to get comfortable with me".

It's at level 28 now and I'm worried about leveling up anymore because I'm pretty sure I lost Thunder Bolt (that's at level 25 right?) and am afraid of losing Pikechu's other good moves.
If not for the Charge Beam TM from the first gym, I'd still be stuck with Thundershock which is particularly horrible in this game and Volt Tackle which as I've mentioned is hard on the whole 'not letting it faint' requirement due to the recoil damage.

I'd rather avoid using the happiness barries since stats need to be sacrificed but might it be necessary?
Is there any way to speed up the process besides the Salon ladies who are quite painful to my wallet?

Did I mention I loath happiness evolution?!

Hahahaha! Yeah, i said to let Espurr go down in order to bring out Ampharos. But hey, in the end my strategy worked for you, just like i promised^^

Yes, it did and I greatly appreciate it.

    6 hours ago, ShogokiX said:

Well, your Charizard did go down, but that tends to happen when facing a Yanmega using Ancient Power if you have a dual weakness. On the other hand, since you did have Ampharos and 3 other mons that was no problem. Charizards main objective in my strategy was to get rid of Illumise, set the field on fire, and after that take down as many mons as possible. Ampharos was the main sweeper though, since it has no weakness in this gym and Power Gem is strong. Your other Mons were there to support Ampharos and pop healing items if needed.

    Exactly.

Yeah that is what Strong Wind looks like, too be fair, not generally a weather that one runs into too often, in main series games it's exclusive to Mega Ray's ability Delta Stream, if i am not forgetting anything

Oh yeah, I've seen Delta Stream in Ttar's Sun/Moon Randomizer Nuzlocke. That looks like fog too, a weird green fog.

Firstly, Electric was never super-effective on Bug, like ever.

Oh, I could have sworn it was. My bad. 😓

    3 hours ago, Scyl said:

Secondly, it's possible you played during the Strong Winds weather condition, which removes all weaknesses that a Flying-Type would normally have, i.e. Electric-Type moves.

There was a weather condition but it looked like fog to me.

Welp, this was a derp on me then. I apologize.

  22. I didn't come across this while scanning the known bugs box, I apologize if I missed it and I hope it's alright that I'm going to report two separate bugs in one thread.

    1. Game Crashing

Ever since I started the game, whenever I have put it in the background (behind other open programs such as Google Chrome) and left it there for an extended period of time, it gets stuck there. I don't know if it's classified as a crash or freeze but when I press the icon in my taskbar it doesn't front the game again.
I have to solve this via Control + Alt + Deleting and then ending the process and restarting the game.

I've made a habit of saving every time I have to background the game just for security after this caused me to lose some minor progress at the beginning.

The reason I'm only reporting this now is that the issue seems to have escalated and until this point, it wasn't bothering me.
Now, that I've JUST beat Shelly, suddenly, the last few times I've backgrounded the game to respond to posts here, it gets stuck/crashes/freezes every single time.

    2. Electricity isn't always super effective against Flying and Bug types.

Whilst training a Klink outside the Jasper ward Pokemon Center for the Corey battle, I noticed that while battling wild Pidgey, Pigeotto and Scatterbug, Thundershock and Charge Beam were NOT being treated as super effective but as neutral and this threw me off of even bothering to try electricity on Corey's Crobat.

I thought since this is a fan game, perhaps that was an intentional change.
For example, Snakewood is a Ruby-based ROM hack in which some Pokemon have secondary types added to them such as dark to Kantonian Meowth and fighting to Banette.

However, when I battled a woman with a Murkrow upon my first arrival in the Lapis Ward and someone with I think a Spearow, something nagged at me to give it a try and lo and behold THEN electricity was super effective.
I found the inconsistency to be strange and decided that the Pidgey/Pigeotto/Scatterbug thing was not supposed to have happened.

    Am I wrong?

  23. 6 minutes ago, Anti-loser said:

You do realise that trubbish evolves at level 36 ?

Actually I think you get Swanna at lv 35...

    I did not, well shit.
I had just enough common candies to cover them as well, I had 3 and used one on Charizard.
    Ah well.

I realized that allowing Espurr to be KOed was something ShogoKix had said to do that I was neglecting. I didn't think it would make much of a difference.

If letting Espurr get KOed hadn't worked then I would have tried your rainbow field tactic.

  24. WOOT!
    At last, I beat her!

I believe what made something of a difference was that the first several times I used the fake out tactic, Espurr would be left with 1HP after struggle bug and then taking a hit from the burning field created by my Charizard's Flame Burst and I'd switch it out for Ampharos.

This time, Espurr was knocked out before I had a chance to switch it out. So when I send out Ampharos, I was able to take out Araquanid before it could rain dance with Charizard's wing attack and Ampharos's Power Gem.
Heather's Ancient Power KOed Charizard but Ampharos was able to continue the sweep with support from Trubbish and Ducklett and the burning field which remained intact for the entire battle did a lot of residual damage to Volbeat.

Big thanx to everyone in this thread for all the help.

"I'm still not good enough, I guess I'll never live up to his [her brother Bugsy's] expectations."

Shit girl, you make Bugsy look like a bug catcher!

Man after this I am NOT looking forward to the Elite 4!

    16 hours ago, Metadeth said:

    - You can also find an Emolga in Jasper Ward as an event on windy or clear days IIRC. Give it a seed and let it have fun with Acrobatics (Lv. 30). It should be able to outspeed most of her mons, but take care of Anorith as soon as it comes out.

I noticed that Emolga but how do you get to it?

Also, I found all the Police officers as well but still have to claim the Growlithe. I'll do that as I make my way back to the Beryl Cemetary now.

I've been watching Ttar's Nuzlocke at pace with my playthrough and am very interested so to see how he manages this battle!
