  1. Hariyama is an ideal Fighting-type to use, and I believe Mr Mime has access to Dual Screens.
  2. For those who celebrate the day, happy 4th of July 😀

  3. If I'm being honest, the trailer went...above expectation. "Go big or go home" is what I said to myself after finding Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu to be underwhelming. Seeing the new Pokemon, I am pleased to see that Game Freak have not lost their touch; the new Pokemon and their designs are quite appealing and neat (especially Corvinight). The only Pokemon whom I found uninspiring are the new legendary Pokemon, Zecian and Zamazenta; their aesthetics are fine, although I wish they weren't quadruped Pokemon since that holds them back from being appealing. As for the new mechanic of Dynamaxing...I found it funny that Game Freak delivered my thoughts quite literally. I suppose the appeal of this generation's new gimmick is to be awestruck by the Pokemon becoming huge all of a sudden. At the same time, it doesn't appear it will have the interesting lore of Mega Evolutions. Its good to see that the open-world Wild Areas, with Pokemon appearing in the overworld (the one thing I enjoyed about the Let's Go game) are returning, and as always, the visuals look great, It's strange that the new Pokemon were the ones I found to be interesting rather than the new mechanics this time around (and that is saying quite a lot, as someone who is quite interested in the lore and history of the Pokemon world). Wasn't a bad trailer at all, although Dynamaxing will have to earn its knighthood with its lore, if it wants me to be invested in it. I look forward to seeing the rest of the Galar Pokedex.
  4. At long last, the examined beasts have been bested by my mighty pen, and I have been released from the dreaded castle called college...for now.

As for my initial impressions of the new Pokemon Sword and Shield trailer, all I'll say is:

    DYNAMAX WAILORD X SKITTY!

  5. You can find Roggenrolas in Ixora Cavern and you can find its evolution, Boldore, in Hokkaido Mountains.
  6. Live-action film adaptations of video games/anime and manga, are often met with scorn and backlash because they are not able to properly translate their physics into real-world physics...but after witnessing Pokemon Detective Pikachu today, this is not the case.

Pokemon fans have no need to fear this film; the Pokemon are wonderfully renditioned and faithfully replicated into the real world and look fantastic. The Pokemon are visually crafted so carefully that at times, you will feel that they can actually live in our world. I was never a Psyduck fan nor did I like the species to begin with, but Lucy's Psyduck has made me appreciate the species a teeny-weeny bit more; I wouldn't mind hanging out with a Psyduck on the beach in real life.

I enjoyed seeing the Pokemon on the live-screen and marveled at the love and care that went into bringing them into reality. Any Pokemon fan will definitely enjoy seeing the Pokemon in this film. Although the film will be looked down upon when the Pokemon Cinematic Universe comes into existence, let us appreciate the fact that:

Live-action film adaptations of video games/anime and manga, now have a standard. Pokemon Detective Pikachu, has cracked the case.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

it's definitly a film that deserves the Greato Daze over the Yare Yare Daze

  7. RIP Peter Mayhew/Chewbacca, May the 04 be with you.

  8. Growlithe will give you the upper hand; if you train it one more level to 34, it will learn Flamethrower and, if it has decent Special Attack and Speed IVs, it could knock out Illumise in one hit which will prevent it from setting up Rain Dance and make the battle much easier. Grimer is also another decent option to use, since it should have Sludge Wave to inflict Poison onto Shelly's Pokemon; pairing it up with Driftblim's Hex can deal major damage to her Pokemon. However, this Driftblim/Grimer tactic depends on whether Shelly's Pokemon become poisoned; its not a bad tactic, but its risky. Noibat's Air Cutter is super-effective against five of Shelly's Pokemon except Anorith. However, all of Shelly's Pokemon have coverage against Noibat, so it should not be used at the beginning of the battle; instead, it should be used at the end of the battle to clean up Shelly's remaining Pokemon. Floatzel can be used to knock out Anorith with one Aqua Jet.
  9. Unfortunately, yes, but only if you want to use this shortcut to defeat Florinia ASAP. Of course, Koffings and Klinks can be caught at around Levels 15-18 if you don't want to grind unnecessarily for one Gym battle. There is also the option of obtaining Slugma for 800 coins in Onyx Ward.
  10. Although your current team will be much better on later in the game, they lack the firepower to deal with Florinia's Pokemon. Koffing and Klink are ideal Pokemon whose typings will help sponge many moves from Florinia's Pokemon; you can catch Koffing in Obsidia Ward's Alley and Klink can be caught in Obsidia Ward's Underground Railnet. If you want a shortcut to beat Florinia, capturing a Kricketot and evolving it into a Kricketune which will learn Fury Cutter, will rip apart Florinia's team. Kricketot can be caught in Lower Peridot Ward at an Apartment building near an alleyway.
  11. For me, it all started with Generation I's Pokemon Red as well as after watching the original Pokemon anime. Why do I still continue to support Pokemon...its my beer, but in a good way.
  12. It's true that the naming convention of Pokemon games isn't limited solely to color, and the names have expanded to objects throughout the years and Generations. However, the naming convention did have the consistency of the objects that the Pokemon games are named after, evoke the feeling or image of a color. I suppose my gripe with the names of the new core games is that they don't evoke any feeling or image of a color; they're literally just objects, which breaks this consistency. You could say this consistency was broken with Pokemon X and Y, but they evoked some form of color in the form of life and destruction. Pokemon Sun and Moon evoke colors relating to their respective celestial bodies. The names of the new core games don't follow suit. I don't dislike the names Pokemon Sword and Shield; I will probably accept the names in the future. Regardless, these new names don't evoke any form of color or emotion, which is why I find them weird and out of place.
  13. So a region inspired by England and the UK...interesting. Regarding the names of the new core games...I know for a fact that the third version of these games will be called Pokemon Aegislash.
  14. Your team choice is nicely balanced. As stated above, Arcanine is a very good choice with its Flash Fire ability since it covers for both Weavile and Ferrothorn. For your 6th slot, you could try out Weezing for early on in the game since its high defense stat eats up Fighting-type moves and covers for Primarina who is weak against Poison-type moves. Most of your team choice has average speed besides Weavile, so later on, you could replace M-Meowstic for Bronzong which can learn Trick Room to make your team faster; Arcanine can learn Extreme Speed and Weavile has many priority moves, so Bronzong's Trick Room won't affect them.
  15. I know this is late, but happy holidays to everyone! May you all have a restful, festive season!

  16. Personally, I nominate...no one, because every user here is an award winner. But since nominating every user here for every award defeats the purpose of this, I'll nominate: For The Terra Pierce Award - @Nyaagisa The Maid For The Sugarpop Sunbeam Award - @Candy For The Auspicious Auth Award - @DreamblitzX For The Carmen Sandiego Award - @Caz For the Most Likely to Have a Philosophical Debate With Themselves and The Fern Sevilla Award - @ShadeStrider
  17. I haven't exactly encountered many "toxic people" in real life, so I have little experience with this topic and apologize if I sound naive. Based on my experience, I say that you should trust your gut feeling; if you don't feel comfortable with someone based on first impressions, then you shouldn't pursuit any sort of friendship or relationship.
  18. The answer to your secondary question is simple; Goku is the main character and only he is allowed to dye his hair the latest color, thanks to his premium membership called Plot Armour. So yes, you are correct in saying that Ultra Instinct is a lazy excuse to make Goku more powerful. As for Ultra Instinct ruining DBS, broken power scaling took care of that long before Ultra Instinct showed up.
  19. RIP Stan Lee; your legendary stories and contributions will always be fondly remembered.

Here is a small tribute to the man who pioneered the Western comic book world (taken from the Epic Rap Battles of History Jim Henson vs Stan Lee):

Aw, Stan, don't be sad. We all have a time to go.

Most of the internet thought that you died 12 years ago,

But the Four will always be Fantastic. The Hulk will always be Incredible.

The words you wove within the hearts of heroes are indelible.

There is no beef between us. We're two minds of the same kind,

And there is no man who could ever muck with what we've left behind.

    Excelsior!

  20. Meltan. I don't mind Melmetal since its swole design is growing on me, but I prefer if Meltan was a Pokemon that didn't evolve. As for another Pokemon that I didn't want to evolve that comes to mind this very moment...Pikachu, because, honestly, its such a powerhouse popularity wise that it eclipses its evolved form.
  21. My wild guess would be...Final Fantasy VII?
