  1. Save the shards too. They are probably more important long-term.
  2. Specifically for the right after the Shelly battle, go back under the Grand Staircase and use Rock Smash to explore the area some more until you get the Mining Kit. I really can't overstate just how important getting that item is. It makes your life much, much less difficult. Otherwise, as others have said have a diverse team and be prepared to swap out Pokemon as better ones become available or they are at a disadvantage in new areas. If you don't want to look up key battles be prepared to lose the first time and come back. Use the first battle to scout out as many Pokemon as possible to learn moves and items.
  3. Huh. That would be because for some reason the forum seems to have eaten my corrected file. Don't know why. Let's see if it works this time: Game.rxdata
  4. Just put that file where the original was.
  5. Upload your save and someone can move you.
  6. Uh, other? My favorite thing are the Pokemon events. Little tasks or other things you have to do to get Pokemon. It makes each of them feel far more special than just throwing a Pokeball at the first stupid thing you see to get it out of the way. One of the problems I have with the main games is that despite each Pokemon supposedly being its own thing with a personality and all that, none of it every comes across and they all just end up being more or less identical. With Reborn I actually give a damn about the Pokemon simply because I actually remember how I got them beyond "a wild x appeared. WCV threw a quick ball. X was caught."
  7. I don't trade online, but if you are open to modding the game and are willing to restart you can use this wonderful little mod-set: to change your starter. If you pick one that isn't available it will make it so you can't play online, but Gastly shouldn't mess with that.
  8. Use an item called Apophyll Pancakes (think you can buy them on Route 3) on Pikachu. http://www.rebornevo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/26647-pokemon-rejuvenation-shadow-beldum/
  9. Z-Ring is gotten through a quest for DJ Arclight that requires you to have bought the stolen Pokemon from 7th Street and have beaten the either Titania or Amaria, the 15th and 16 gym leaders (can't remember which). Alola Raichu's Z-Crystal can be found in a cave at Azurine Lake. You will need Blizzard inside IIRC. And with the HMs required it can't be done until you have Fly, which is the 13th gym leader.
  10. I personally like this one the best, but have played various other fangames. Zeta/Omicron, Rejuvenation, Insurgence, etc. Now some of the reasons I like Reborn the best are: 1. The locations. Not to be mean to the others, but Reborn locations always fit together really well, and you can see bits of later areas even early in the game, giving you a sense of accomplishment when you finally arrive. For example, in the Peridot War you can get a Budew which falls of of a wall above you. Later in the game you end up where it fell off, and you look from the other direction, atop that wall to see how far you've come since the game started. An even more extreme example of this is the desert, which you can see in the intro, but get a real glimpse of from atop a bridge in the first quarter of the game. You don't get to GO there until near the end of the current content. But you can look at the scenery and know that this is the place you saw earlier but couldn't get. Much later in the game you get to see the massive difference you and your allies have managed to create in the world around you. 2. The Pokemon events. This is also true of Rejuvenation. I kinda find it boring to just go and grab a Pokemon out of tall grass and train it. Its just like every other Pokemon you can find. But when you catch or find event Pokemon it feels special. Like you've earned it. Whether that be the Espurr/Mincinno I always grab right away which has been stolen from its owner and you take with you to save it from the thieves, the Zigzagoon/Pachirisu you save from being tossed off a bridge, the Budew mentioned earlier which you catch when it falls off the Lapis Ward, or the Ralts who would have died due to damage to its Pokeball if you hadn't dragged it around for what was probably weeks or months (in-game) it feels special when you get Pokemon from an event. 3. Fields. Again, also true of Rejuvenation. The fields add an extra layer of depth to the battles, requiring you to figure out specific tactics to take advantage of conditions there. For instance using Earthquake to render Serra's field completely useless to her, changing the pitch-black cave into a normal one in order to double the stealth rock damage, etc. It makes the terrain you are battling on matter. Now there are some points against of course. Reborn is kinda notoriously difficult. Like a lot of difficult games though mostly what it requires of you is patience and planning, with maybe a bit of luck. You might want an easier time, but if you've been playing since Gen. I it should be manageable, so long as you have a solid grasp on the underlying mechanics of Pokemon. The biggest strike against is just that the game is unifinished, and will before at minimum another year, possibly longer. So you'll have to wait and come back when Ame finishes the next episode, and then the one after. Remembering where everything was while also working out the new content could be a hassle. Something like Zeta/Omicron is completely done, so you can play it all the way through without that pause. Overall though I'd say its a solid starting point.
  11. Depends, what is its health?

    Easy Mode

Oh yeah that one. Hit it with rock or flying moves quick, and if you grab the Prankster Murkrow from the Aqua alley (which I think is available), and teach it Sunny Day from the Magma Gang questline you should be able to shut it down. And also set up better weather for fire type attacks. Edit: Nevermind I just played through that section again and I was wrong. Sunny Day comes later in the game. Regardless however a flying type should be able to deal with Araquanid fairly fast. If you still need to get rid of the rain though you can try Castform, which learns Sunny Day at level 20.
  13. What problems is he having with Terra? I found her to be one of the easiest gym leaders, with only that f*****g Quagsire presenting a problem. No.

    Easy Mode

It shows up next the train station, but only when its raining. If you train it up to level 30 or better and have it learn lava plume. Pair that with a fake out user (technician meowth, meowstic, lombre, makuhita, glameow, etc will do the job nicely), fake out the Illumise immediately, then set the field on fire with lava plume. It will make the battle DRASTICALLY easier.

    Hopes For E18

Just a personal thing, but I'd like to be able to return more Pokemon to their original owners. Like the Mareep from Jasper Ward since the guy disappears once you find it, the Skitty from Coral since the rebuilt city means the kid who owned it would be able to play with it safely now, the Kricketot from Peridot for the same reason, etc. I feel like it really reinforces how far the city's come to be able to return Pokemon you took for safe-keeping.
  16. When you get to 7th Street look for the Pokemon Psychologist. He'll change Chimchar's nature for a heart scale.
  17. Not sure they count as games either really... What's not fun about watching your opponent set up +6 in every stat use an Espeon to attack once for each Pokemon? For the opponent I mean.

I've been lurking on and off since Episode 16 released or so, but only joined up when Episode 17 went into community access. I tend not to be very sociable, so I put off actually commenting on everything until recently. I've been playing Pokemon since the first generation and have played pretty much every game since (minus most of the spinoffs). I'm also a filthy Baton Passer at heart, and have built a team along those lines at least once every generation. What can I say, it plays into my love of combo in tabletop card games and is just plain fun. You know, for me. I've played through both Reborn and Rejuvenation a few times, and have a bit (very small bit) of skill with RPGMaker as well from when I was trying to build a game in it years back. Never went anywhere, but twas fun to try. Anyway, I hope to be a good community member.
  19. You can grab a Phanpy in the grass near the cemetary, which will evolve into Donphan quickly, and learn Magnitude at level 30.
  20. The trainers inside scale as you progress.
  21. Of the ones listed: I don't think Lin has enough fully established information for a final judgement yet. Fern is an irritating dick, but frankly he's not important enough for me to actually hate. He's irritating, but that just goes with that personality. And the fact it has to be eating away at him inside just how much better the PC is than him is a positive. Solaris I think has an interesting backstory and as a villian is fairly solid overall. No hate there. Blake though, honestly I don't think he has any redeeming qualities. So he wins. Of others people have mentioned. I don't mind Titania and Sapphira's willingness to kill. Its not like the Meteor's didn't bring it on themselves. To be frank, maybe if the PC and other allies hadn't let them walk off after losing a battle every single time we wouldn't have half the problems currently happening. Victoria I can sympathize with as someone who's trying to do good, but just can't see the big picture. Bennett is a creepy little shit who also has no redeeming qualities. Sirius is a villain and therefore its fine to despise him. And unlike Blake he's a fairly solid threat. I sympathize too much with Heather to dislike her. So, Blake is the worst with Bennett following.
  22. Its in the forest with the teleporting trees. When you leave Spinel town there will be a house with a Hiker inside who will trade a Trapinch for a Mothim.
  23. I'm not sure there are any characters I personally dislike, outside the villains. Cain irritates me, but that's just because being hit on is something I find annoying in general. I have to disagree with people who dislike Titania or Saphira for killing though. Frankly they are the only ones actually doing something to stop Team Meteor. The other heroes have a Pokemon battle, and then let the Meteor people walk off to attack again. No capture, no imprisonment. Just let them all go. Is Titania and Saphira's kill them attitude necessarily correct? Maybe not, but its better than do nothing.
