Round 1: Jun activates her temporary flight, gaining 10 Dex for two rounds. Toshiro activate his Dash Tech increasing his own Dex to 15 for one round, then slashes the monster for 19 damage. This proves to be a foolish decision as several stray arcs of lightning catch him during that act and inflict 7 damage. Rivers fires a small needle of air at the monster, dealing 3 damage. The Nimbus opens its “mouth” and out pour tendrils of lightning that arc into Jun, Az, and Leo. Jun takes 5 damage and loses 1 Syn and 1 Dex until the end of combat. Az takes 7 damage and loses 1 Dex and 1 Str until the end of combat. Leo takes 4 damage and loses 2 Syn until the end of combat. Jun leaps up and stabs the Cloud for 36 damage, lightning surges and she takes 7 retaliation damage. Leo conjures up an icy wind that deals 13 damage to the Nimbus due to its size. Stoneheart Lacerates the cloud(somehow) dealing 2 damage. Az wildly fires Dakka at the thing, dealing 7 damage to the storm. Init: Status: Side Note: You may enter the WeatherLight(leave combat) as an action on your turn, once there you may return next round without a bonus, after one round with +10 HP, or at full HP after spending two rounds away. While in the WeatherLight you may spend actions on yourself or others in the WeatherLight(such as swapping equipment or support actions).

After stepping into the Firebrand and seeing that Harry was already tending to the wounded Frigus pulled out his notebook and tried to write a report of the conflict. However due to some less than timely writing combined with combat maneuvers the report ended up below average quality. So he decided to cut his loses on that for now and try something else, a new Keychain maybe? Using one of the alien crystals from before? Sounded like a good plan, so he pulled it and a few other materials out of his pocket and got to work. By the time he was done they were nearly back to base and he had shiny new crystal wrapped in dull greyish wire and chain. He would have to test the effects later in a more controlled environment. Thinking of, he was definitely ready for whatever debrief they had waiting back at the base and something more productive to do afterward. As much fun as almost dying in a crashed ship was they really needed to get down to actually helping these people in a meaningful way.

Flight check: 20 vs 11, Leo manages to bring the WeatherLight up and into the sky without mishap, he looks around for a moment and sees an oddly moving cloud formation and turns the ship towards it. Random Encounter: 3,(on a d100) After a short while of sailing Leo thinks to himself that something isn't quite right here, and sure enough with a closer look he finds that the village is the other way....so what's that strange cloud? It was at that moment he knew...he fucked up. The cloud(almost as large as the WeatherLight itself) turned towards the ship revealing a large face twisted in anger and rage, eyes and mouth arcing with electricity. Two long arms(also made of cloud and arcing with electricity) burst from the surrounding clouds to grab hold of the WeatherLight on either end and draw itself closer to loom over the side. You swear you see a smile flash over its crackling face. Init: Status: Round Two: Fight!

Over the years, the humans have learned that while magic can be a powerful tool, it also has more destructive potential than any other force in their universe. From this harsh realization a disciplined and orderly society has developed, one where every citizen knows his place and where the vast majority of common men are held in thrall to a few ruthless, powerful leaders. Wielding magical powers and arcane artifacts, these men overshadow every other human force on Cronos, suppressing individual thought and action in the name of the greater good. Within this strict order, three organizations maintain the fabric of human society: the Legion, the Arcanum, and the Church. In an uneasy balance often threatened by petty squabbles and escalating power struggles, these three organizations share absolute dominion over all humanity. The Legion represents human military strength, using brute force backed by magical weapons to impose a strict and inflexible order upon the populace. The Arcanum is the center of learning for all magical studies, and as such it determines who will or will not have access to its wealth of arcane secrets. The Church acts as a bridge and buffer between the Legion and Arcanum, using a mixture of magic and military training to maintain the balance of power while secretly furthering its own interests. Together or separately, these three groups control every aspect of human life. Each organization is led by a single man. Zedek, Marshal of the Legion; Traductus, Grand Patriarch of the Church; and Menelkir, Arch-Mage of the Arcanum. These men are the ultimate embodiment of power on Cronos. Cold, calculating, and devoid of concern for anything but the advancement of their own status, these leaders were the first to fall under the sway of Korax, the second of the three Serpent Riders. In return for their allegiance, Zedek, Traductus, and Menelkir were rewarded by Korax with the dark gift of Unlife. Using the powers granted them by Korax as well as the relics already in their possession, all of humanity quickly fell under their spell. Few humans escaped the aegis of the leaders new powers, many are twisted and corrupted into something monstrous and inhuman. These few survivors must destroy the leaders they once followed and anything else that gets in the way as they execute their task: to find Korax's stronghold, defeat his legions of grotesque minions, and finally kill the Serpent Rider himself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello and welcome. I'm going to be running a D&D 5E game based in the world of Hexen, a 90s first person shooter that was basically the dark fantasy version of the original Doom. The short version of the setting is take a standard dark fantasy setting, hit it with a dystopian society where the few brutally rule over and dominate the many, then put a flesh-horror apocalypse over that and fill it with cultists and demons. This will be a low RP/high combat campaign with lots of traps and deadly puzzles. The party is a group of survivors from various backgrounds that have banded together and journeyed to The Winnowing Hall where their quest to defeat Korax begins, or at least that's the idea. If you guys would rather screw around, loot, pillage, and burn until the Serpent Rider nukes the place be my guest. I'm planning on a 4-6 PC party, if I end up with overwhelming interest(haha, fat chance) I'll think about upping the size, but as it stands I'll pair down the party once everyone has their sheet together. Also while I'm not barring evil alignments, if you're a dick I'm not obligated to let you continue playing. Discord server(mandatory): https://discord.gg/QCyHYQu More information is available on Discord, if you've got questions feel free to PM me or ask on the server.

Friedhold turned to look back at Mira and answer her question. "ADAM is a chemical substance which allows me to create serums that modify the genetic structure of whatever subject takes them, usually through injection." He pauses to think for a second, realizing she might not have understood all of what he just said, she was using a sword after all, and he had no way of knowing how backwater her world might be. "That would mean I could make someone taller, shorter, stronger--" He raised his hand up and generated the same greenish glow from before, "make you heal faster, or almost anything else."

Tim whistles as he picks up the chunk of scrap and has a look at it's actual value. He didn't know what it was made out of, but it was more rare and valuable than gold or any gemstone. He looked over to Law and listened to what he(?) had to say, then nodded and started to move back to his circle before watching the little creature produce its alloy printer and start making circuits, only to have Lucine ask for it a moment later. "Here, take these." Law would turn around to see Tim having produced about ten circuit boards similar to those from the last world and a large bundle of insulated wire. "Look, I don't have enough energy to produce much of that metal from before, but I can clear this faster than anyone with shovels." With that he deposited the materials and stood looking around some and digging into a cloak pocket. "Take a step back and I'll have this cleared in a second, just wouldn't want anyone to get hurt." The last part seemed to be tacked on as an afterthought, this was reinforced by the fact that he didn't really wait very long for anyone to actually step back. He pulled out a dull grey gem and held it out in front of himself, with sudden force the dirt and debris from around the structure ripped themselves from the ground and flew towards the gem where they promptly disappeared into nothingness. Within a minute or two he would've cleared any dirt or stone surrounding the structure and given the others time to clear out any trees or larger debris he couldn't manage. He immediately tucked the gem back into one of his pockets.

Tim wasn't exactly "Skilled" or "Experienced" when it came to more advance tech and mechanical constructs, his skills lay in Transmutation and the related schools of magic instead. So when they came upon the massive machine he was....interested, confused, but over all a bit lost for what to do. That is until the man-rat-weasel-thing Law? Mentioned needing raw materials. "I may actually be able to help there. What sort of materials does it need?" Even as he spoke Tim took a step to the side and summoned up a larger version of his Transmutation circle in a clear area on the ground. If there was any loose scrap from the great machine laying around he'd also pick a piece of that up.

Spicy HG glances over to Solomon after she finished picking up a few trace chunks of gold from the creation of the ring. "Yeah...are you sure you know how this whole enchanting thing works?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Friedhold pulled away and turned to look at Mira just as the rim of the jar he was using caught fire and scorched his hand some. He sighed, winced, and looked at the wound quickly before it started glowing with a soft green light and the burn disappeared. "I am-- was feeding them a ADAM based solution that rewrites their genetic code and splices in the capability to both withstand great temperatures and produce flames from their body. Now, it seems. I am going to need to locate another container to keep them in." He looked back and watched the flames slowly burning away the ring of grease around the top of the jar.

"I think I can do that, if he's willing to listen." The Dryad replied to Snow before turning to answer Toshiro. "I wouldn't trust visions granted by a strange and dark sword if I were you, I doubt anything good will come of it." With that the Dryad turned away and started walking towards the village center. "I've got some other business to attend to, I'll be around later if anyone needs me."
-
The Dryad goes a little wide eyed at Leo's follow up, she was hesitating to answer when Satomi asks her question. The Dryad took the opportunity of the distraction. "The energy is there, but the energy isn't what spreads the Taints. They spread by exploiting the natural order of life, grow, death, and decay. I can't speak on the magic of other worlds, though if you're worried about it take this." She pulls out a small pale blue sack full of silvery white powder. "It cleanses the Corruption and Crimson from anything recently converted. So if I'm wrong somehow this ever does spread you can undo the damage." Leo spoke up again and the Dryad turned back to him. "Look. I con't stop you from meddling with the Corruption and Crimson, but at least have the decency to build a containment area or do it outside of the village and keep the purification powder I gave you nearby in case anything goes wrong.
-
The Dryad listened to Leo's explanation, occasionally sighing or glancing over to the frothing rage that was Satomi. "Well despite your foolishness in meddling with such things you're very lucky. Metals from the Corruption and Crimson rarely have the capacity to spread their taint. Instead they act like reservoirs for dark energy. There have been a couple instances of things made from Crimtane or Demonite that spread taint, but those things were very deliberately made for that purpose." She looks at the blade for a second longer. "For everything I know it won't bring about the destruction of the world by spreading the Corruption or Crimson. If you can bear actually using it on anything." She turns to Leo and Toshiro with a disappointed look. "You got lucky. But for all our sakes be a little more careful next time, or even better just don't do it again."
-
At just that moment the Dryad rounds the corner of the Blacksmith's shop and almost walks into Leo. She has a slightly concerned look on her face, but is mostly just surprised. "Oh sorry. I'm glad you're still here though, I had to step away for a second to deal with something. I heard screaming on my way back, is everything alright?"
-
The Dryad lists fairly intently only stopping about half way through to pinch the bridge of her nose and shake her head. "If you wanted to kill it why didn't you just set it on fire? and the purification powder probably won't work on it, that stuff is made for dealing with the Corruption and Crimson, not whatever this is." She sighed and stood there in thought for a minute. "You said it ate only organic matter and heat right? If you make a box out of metal or rock and lock it up I'll find some kind of digestive enzyme to pour on it later."
-
"That's an interesting slime you've got there, I hope it isn't the only thing you wanted to talk to me about though." She walked a little closer to get a better look at it. "Very interesting. I'm not sure I've ever seen a slime like this before, it looks like a Pinky, but...it's frozen." She glanced over to the side, noticing the wilted plants and coloration changes, then looks at Leo, then back to the slime. "Alright what's going on here?"

Frigus stood up from his cover as the gas around him cleared, he heard the call to evacuate and saw people starting to run. With a shout he mustered up another healing spell, targeting the two who looked the most wounded, Rachel and Nader. This was getting exhausting, he really needed to improve his spells. With that he started trying to push towards the front of the group in case ADVENT decided to lock the bulkheads in an effort to keep them from escaping.

"Ah yes. My name is 'Tim', and I do agree with the box's last point. Not that we can say much better having been out in a desert badlands." When the other person spoke up and shouted about Lucine being a Witch Tim shot them a silent, disgusted, sneer before looking back down to continue his conversation with Lucine. "I was about to go see if I could trade this salt, and perhaps several other instances of it, to one of the 'Wizards' here selling scrolls if you'd like to come along. If you see something you want say something and I'll try to haggle it for you, it's not exactly like it costs me much." With that Tim started slowly making his way back to one of the scroll merchants.

The night presses on with little worth note and soon enough the early morning comes and the birds start singing. Breakfast at the tavern is similar to what it was yesterday, though over all the place seems a little bit cleaner and nicer. During breakfast several people note on a strange chattering sound that can be heard from the rafters, no one seems to be able to locate the source. The weather outside is clear and cool, almost no clouds in the sky. Characters get +1 to their first roll today due to better sleeping conditions.
-
After looking around and quickly realizing that no one here used any sort of currency, he figured that salt was probably a good alternative to money, considering that everyone needed it and it lasted long enough most people were willing to buy a large amount. He found the appropriate vendor and arguing for several minutes over the fact that he was in fact trying to sell real wheat, not illusionary wheat. He collected the salt after an irritated Sorcerer confirmed the Wheat was real and left him with a label that read "Bag of holding". It was around that time he noticed the small child following him around, taking a step back the vendor he turned to address her. "Hello, umm just curious how long you've been following me? and what was your name again? I'm afraid I've forgotten it."

"I'm not entirely sure what drove them to it, I was young and didn't pay the advances of mortal men any mind. In the years since I've come to the conclusion it was most likely a play for power. The ruling class of the old age was addicted to wealth and power, they lived to amass as much as they could, they even had competitions to see who could conceive the most complicated, impressive, and ultimately wasteful spells and contraptions. I believe whatever being wanted to break through couldn't without their help and offered them power in exchange for summoning them. Clearly not everyone was in favor, a significant portion of the populace fled the second they caught wind of it." She turned back at Leo's interjection. "I'll be around." Then she returned to her conversation with Lucille. "As for how their magic worked, most of them didn't have much innate magical ability so they augmented themselves by either wearing or consuming something called 'Mana Crystals' they made from the essence of fallen stars. The crystals draw in the magical energy floating free in the air and allow the user to channel it into spells or artifacts. Magical tomes and gemstone set metal staffs were both common choices. They also left a multitude of small baubles around that are enchanted to work passively, if you happen across a bottle full of clouds or a pair of green boots grab them, they're both very useful. If you trying to find them, there is an old castle to the north which I'm sure you're familiar with if you've already faced the Strider, exploring the underground portions of it may prove fruitful, there are also countless small safeholds and hideaways underground all over the island. Additionally there are the remains of a ruined city drifting into the ocean to the south where the river meet the ocean, and an abandoned village bordering the Jungle and Desert. The village is newer, but may still hold something." She paused to think for a second. "There are also small floating islands above the larger island. They move around occasionally, but if you see a strange cloud well...I've never been to one myself but there are relics from before the old age up there."
-
The Dryad looked surprised at Lucille's comment. "You seriously managed to kneel it? Impressive. The goblin Beastmasters seem to by riding some sort of large hound-like creature, I don't recognize it at first glance so I'm not sure what it's capable of." She looked to answer Arminius's question. "Camouflage shouldn't be a problem, I should be able to make something convincing in a few minutes worth of work." She nodded along with Leo's statement before answering Jun's question. "Yes, I'll plot the predicted path on the map in the Guide's office later for anyone who wants to look at it." She listened intently to Satomi's plans and the brief following conversation before replying to Jun again. "I don't think there is anyone else missing in particular, though there is a nomad who lives in the desert you might be able to recruit and I'm told of a friendly skeleton that lives underground and sells whatever he comes across down there, some of the villagers say they occasionally see him at the outskirts of the mine." She looked around, waiting for a minute for any more questions to come flying her way. "Well since it seems we've got a plan and if no one has any more questions everyone is free to go about their business and we'll get to work in the morning." She turned back and took a step towards Lucille. "You had several questions about the history of the island, correct?"
-
Tim wandered over towards the market area. Quietly looking at the various goods and trying to figure a few things out. First what kind of currency did they use? Copper, silver, or gold coins? Paper money? Gem stones? Something else entirely? Once he had the currency more or less figured out he kept an eye out for high value and/or high demand items, was there anything that was flying off the shelves? Any kind of item these people seem to prize more than others? Over all he stayed pretty quiet, maybe asking or answering a question or two.

"The Corruption and Crimson are relics of tainted power from this world's last age. When I was young the men and women that ruled the kingdom on this island summoned forth powers other-worldly powers they had no hope of controlling, the mere presence of these powers twisted the land to the Corruption and Crimson, an effort was made to try and revert the effects. It failed, resulting in the existence of a similar taint on the land known as the Hallow. Eventually various nature spirits and other powerful entities banded together to seal the sources of the Hallow, Corruption, and Crimson. What remains is a weakened shell of their true power. I suggest you avoid fooling with its power, but in the case you decide to ignore me take this." The Dryad hands Leo a small blue bag of sparking white powder. "It cleans the taint in small quantities." She looked curiously at Snow's projection for a second before answering her. "Obviously I've got powers over nature, but no one knows the history of this land better than me, except for maybe a few very old demons. I also know more than a few wards and can help identify any relics you happen across." She looked down at the small stone golem. "Many people call me Tania." She turns to answer Jun's question. "Well I made the prophecy so....As for the goblins, they weren't exactly expected, but they were definitely a considered possibility. I've actually just finished transplanting some Maneaters and Hornet colonies from the jungle into their path, it should slow them down a bit." Tania looked at Lucille with some interest, glancing at her now rather extensive horde of creatures. "My, you seem to be quite the adept summoner. I will of course answer as many questions as I can about the history of the island when we're done here, if you don't mind waiting a moment." She tore her gaze away to talk to Jun again. "A Blood Moon isn't good news. The monsters always come out at night in greater numbers and with greater force during a Blood Moon. A meteor shower is a good thing though, there are some powerful relics fueled by meteorite technology." Again she turned her attention to answer Satomi's question. "I'm actually not entirely sure what causes so many things to rise from the dead, nor where exactly all the bodies keep coming from. My best guess is some lingering effects of long gone Necromancers from the old age. Like I said before, I just got back from transplanting some Maneaters and Hornet colonies into the path of the army and I could probably do some of that work here." Kusuke spoke up and caught her attention with a relatively odd question. "Shifty...man...in a mask? No I don't think so, and I think that's what we're here to figure out, or at least make something resembling a plan." She thought for a second at Toshiro's question. "Well, there's a massive vulture wandering around in the desert, a particularly large and aggressive slime somewhere in the forest, there may be creatures of extreme power hiding in the Corruption or Crimson, there's a giant crab that keeps scaring people off the beach to the south, and there is an ancient spider wandering around in the snowy mountains and forests." She finally took a step back, looking at the group as a whole. "Now I don't know what plans you may have already made, but I've taken the liberty of watching the goblin's invasion force as they arrived on the island. By my count they had four siege Ogres, two Shadowflame Mage batteries, two siege Engineer batteries, four Archer battalions, six Warrior battalions, and two Beastmaster Battalions. My traps should thin out the infantry somewhat, but we're going to have to find a way to deal with as many Ogres and Mages as possible before the siege."
-
Tim stepped through the portal and after drawing his cloak a little closer to himself spoke up. "Well this is an improvement. Certainly feels more like home." He glanced back at Vitor shivering in the cold. He reached into his pocket to pull out his Philosopher's stone and summoned up several rough black stones about the size of a fist. He handed one to Vitor and anyone else who asked. "They're pieces of hot obsidian, obviously not hot enough to burn you, but it should help to keep you a little warmer."
