  1. Lenore, a look of irritation and disappointment on her face from having to fight again, strolls up to the party, her eyes looking for (and finding) Kane. She looks over at Shin, Arthur and Baldur. "Nice job, you three. You got the boss back intact and didn't mess this up. Especially you, Ficus. I knew you had it in you."
  2. "A real fight, it's nothing like sparring. The man who goes down first isn't the loser, because he can always get up for more. It's the man who can't tough it out to the end, who just gives up and rolls over, who's the loser."
  3. "You know, for a wannabe Poirot, you're heavy on the obfuscating hilarity and light on the help," Empi grumbles at Masako, before continuing to examine the stone (and Marisa). "So....by gap hag, you're meaning that blonde Yukari chick? I figured she set this whole thing up. You know how it is with those mysterious types; they're either the bad guy and we're playing into her hands, or they're one of those 'can't interfere because I could fart a hole in the ozone layer if I do' types. I'm guessing she's the latter. D'you find anything else about this thing? Anyone in particular looking outta place where you found it? I know you were talking about them youkai or whatever, but..."
  4. Empi's eyes follow Walmond, Rory and Chen. She wasn't a soldier (she wasn't a doctor either but at least she knew first aid, she wasn't some animal), but she knew something was up. Something was always up in the movies when one guy from the group started looking off into the horizon, and Empi was betting fifty-fifty either Chen was about to whip out a Glock and light up the group or one of those Xenomorphs was going to burst out the bush and stuff its alien wing-wong down someone's throat. "When you were "minding your business" and picking up whatever the hell that stone was," Empi states with air quotes to emphasise the fact she wasn't quite convinced by this complete kleptomaniac. "You didn't see anyone or anything else around, did you? No eldritch beings right outta Lovecraft, nothing outta some shitty wannabe horror director's wet dreams?"
  5. Empi looks almost dumbfounded that they were being accused of kidnapping the girl who, not long ago, had almost railed Empi in a way she wasn't down for. "Kidnap you? You almost turned the whole damn forest into the second worst light show I've ever seen trying to kill us! Where'd you even get that thing anyway, some abandoned temple with like a million skeletons and a warning telling you to go away outside the door?"
  6. Gabriel has the most exasperated look on his face. He really, really missed Malachi right now."Ay, 'tang ina....wait for me!" Transition towards Colorful Blocks.
  7. Empi floats over to the group, looking at Marisa, before looking back at the rest of the group. She looks more than a little unimpressed by Rory. "You walk out of a Marvel movie or something? Well, nice job, anyway. Can't complain too much, considering you saved our asses, so I'll give that a six out of ten. As for her..." Her gaze sets back on Marisa, suspicious, just in case she stood back up and started attacking again. "The hell's her deal? We figure out why Sabrina the Monochrome Witch was trying to rail us like a freight train?"
  8. "Argos! Fear not, friend, I am coming!" A torrent of flame whips past Naomi as Michi strides forward, armor clanking with each movement. What they lacked in power by comparison, they would make up for functionality, or so Michi hoped. S26, burn the other cav
  9. Noble-on-noble violence. Maybe there was some conspiracy here. Maybe this was a set-up. Or maybe Stella wasn't lying. Lenore didn't have time to consider all those possibilities as, yet again, she was tossed right into the middle of a fight; the last palce she wanted to be anywhere near. "I don't get paid near enough to deal with this." "Orchid, Crimson, you two better keep the boss safe. Ficus, I'm definitely counting on you; I know you've got this. " Going right into the fray was, again, exactly the last thing Lenore wanted to do. But then again, when had Lenore, in her time working for Virtuous, ever had the opportunity for a meticulously planned, well-timed, clean heist? O-7
  10. Gabriel finally speaks up, after studying the situation (and still trying to catch his breath after that last fight)."Maybe we could divide and conquer? We have the numbers between ourselves and the evacuation team. We can't let this Trick....thing screw them up but we can't just let the civilians go without help. Maybe. I'm just spitballing here, I'm not some tactical genius."
  11. Lenore has been deep in thought about the marks for a while, her eyes focusing on the Queen's mark, She sighs, after hearing Liza and Baldur speak. "On one hand, this....still doesn't quite convince me. I respect what you did for us. Operating out of the castle of the Cedan monarchy'll make us look like your stooges, and that's arguably worse than being seen as criminals, for you and us. However, Orchid's got a point. We're here for everyone, and to reform the whole edifice. If we cared about our image, we wouldn't BE criminals. We're not exactly flush on resources, either. We need Phoenix to weigh in. I'll trust whatever decision he makes."
  12. Lenore doesn't rise to the provocation. Lizaveta wasn't a fight worth fighting; she had her heart in the right place, and Lenore could respect what she wanted, but she needed to temper herself before she do something incredibly stupid (they both did). She raises her hands and concedes, stepping back from Stella and from the group, her focus back on Lizaveta. "You're right, Scarlet. I'm sorry. I'm overreaching and you're right; we all need to say our piece. But....we need to stay calm. I'm trying to figure out if what we're being offered is worth the risk. I'm not trying to represent everyone here, but you all deserve to know what it is that we're being offered. I'm not going to reject her out of hand, but I'm not placing my head in her lap either. There's no point making a decision based on her word alone or what we feel about her or her promises about something we haven't seen; we need proof that it's worth our time or isn't, as the case may be, and then we can make our decision, as a group, based on everything we know. Whatever axe you're grinding, whatever feelings you have towards her office, that's your business and I respect you for it, I sincerely do. But put it aside until we know what we're looking at, and then we can make that decision as a group. Are you okay with that?"
  13. Lenore's tone of voice remained calm even as she was internally irritated with Lizaveta. She was okay with casting her lot in with criminals, but noblemen were beyond the pale? Not that Lenore particularly liked either group, being as she was a member of one and a predator of another. Still, alienating a potential ally was something Lenore wasn't going to be happy with. Even if Lenore herself didn't quite trust this one. "Drop the rock, Scarlet. That's not your call. You want change, you're not going to get it by yelling at the first member of royalty you find. Otherwise we wouldn't be here trying to do it ourselves. You want the big win? You're going to have to take a few dives first. And Orchid, back off of Ficus. He's not stupid. He can handle himself." Lenore refocuses on the Queen. "My comrade here does have a point, however. You're going to have to give us something concrete, a reason to believe what you have is worth taking. Why should we believe you? You could easily chuck us into prison and throw away the key the moment we get out of here and away from our safe location. And we're not exactly inclined to trust the monarchy on word alone."
  14. "That's a....tempting offer, milady, but how do we know this isn't some sort of ruse? Are you willing to offer us any proof that what you're offering isn't a trap? I'm sure you understand our concerns; we're not exactly popular among most of the ruling class of the continent."
