  1. God bless the majestic soul that wonder traded me a 6IV shiny Gardevoir a few weeks back. As an IV breeder and trainer, that was a wonderful sight to see.
  2. Forum Username: KuroCovers In-Game Trainer Name: Kuro Online Username: Allen Not sure why I chose this name, honestly... I don't know anybody named Allen, and my name isn't even Allen. Oh, well. Message me if you want to trade for something!
  3. Sadly, there is no trick for this. You can't manipulate genders like you can abilities or natures. You're playing into luck's hands. That said, I do wish you the best of luck, and I hope that you end up with your Head Smash Archen soon!
  4. This. Not much else you can really do. Just keep breeding, and pray that luck is on your side.
  5. Ok, I'll try to explain this as best I can. I'm sorry if anything comes off as unclear; I'll be happy to explain further if you need me to. So, when you put two Pokemon in the Day Care to breed, the Old Man outside the Day Care will say 1 of 4 phrases, which indicates the chance of an egg appearing after every cycle of 256 steps (steps are basically just the term for your character's movement. When your character moves from one tile on the map to another, that is one step). When the Old Man says "Those two don't really seem to like each other very much" (which is what appears to be the case in your scenario), that does not mean that an egg cannot be generated. It simply means you have about a 20% chance to generate an egg with the two Pokemon you currently have in the Day Care; for example, your Ditto and Archen may not "like each other very much," but they still have a 20% chance to produce an egg after every cycle of 256 steps. In your scenario, you need a female Archen and a Male Corsola with Head Smash. So, your best bet would just be to breed Corsola with Ditto in order to obtain a male Corsola with Head Smash (ever since Generation 6, both parents can pass on egg moves, meaning this should be possible). Afterwards, breed Ditto with Archen in order to obtain a female Archen. Then, breed your Female Archen and male Corsola with Head Smash to get an Archen with Head Smash. As for genders, you've just been unlucky. Every Pokemon has a gender ratio, which is the chance of a Pokemon being male versus the chance of it being female. Essentially, it's how often you'll encounter either a male or female version of a Pokemon. Corsola has gender ratio of 25%-75%, meaning that 25% of the time, it will be male, and 75% of the time, it will be female. Archen, on the other hand, has an 87.5%-12.5% gender ratio, meaning that 87.5% of the time, it will be male, and 12.5% of the time, it will be female. Really, there isn't much you can do to circumvent this other than just breeding a lot. Just keep hatching eggs until one of the offspring is the gender you need (and in Corsola's case, has Head Smash). You can also check out this link for more info on breeding mechanics: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_breeding It has a lot of information that you might find useful, and it should answer most of your questions. Hope this helped!
  6. I figured Natural Cure would be the better ability of Roserade. I've got some capsules to spare, so I'll take you up on that. As for Fake Out vs. Drain Punch, I was considering that, but I figured Fake Out was just a more versatile move. If I needed to heal, I could U-Turn out and heal with Regenerator (assuming that mechanic still works like I think it does). I'll try both sets out and see which works best. Thank you! Ah, Earthquake. The move that eludes me so in Pokémon Reborn. I've considered using Flygon over Noivern, as it is a pretty good physical attacker, but if the next gym leader is either then Flygon might not do me well at all. I was not lucky with the mystery egg, and I'd rather not revert episodes to get old Pokémon, so no Excadrill. I have about 70 or so different Pokémon ready to breed for my team if I ever get bored, and Mamoswine and Krookodile are both on that list, so no worries there. I know the value of having more than six Pokémon Thank you very much! EDIT: I spoiler tagged some stuff, because I'm not 100% clear on the rules of that. Better safe than sorry.
  7. If you do end up going Typhlosion, you could rock Eruption/Flamethrower/Extrasensory/Hidden Power Ice. This move set might be a bit wacky, since I just came up with it on the fly, and you'll probably have to do a bit of breeding for it, but it hits 9 types super-effectively, and it might be one of your best options for coverage. There might be better move options, but I'm just spitballing. Also, magnet powder can be found in the Flash section at the bottom of Blacksteam Factory, if I'm not mistaken. You go through that way before 7th street.
  8. Wow, I need to work on creating shorter titles. Anyways, I wanted to ask the Reborn Community to look over my in-game team and just offer constructive criticism. Break apart the team as much as possible, and look at it from all possible angles. Sadly, I'm currently away from home, so I can't offer screenshots, but I'll detail my team to the best of my ability. Also, I haven't decided on items yet, so any suggestions on those would be greatly appreciated. Without further ado: Greninja - Timid, Protean 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP -Surf -Dark Pulse -Extrasensory -Grass Knot Delphox - Timid, Blaze 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 Def -Flamethrower -Psychic/Psyshock -Will-O-Wisp -Grass Knot (Will be Shadow Ball when that bug is fixed) Mienshao - Jolly, Regenerator 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP -High Jump Kick -Fake Out -U-Turn -Knock Off Magnezone - Quiet, Analytic -252 Sp. Atk, 84 Def, 168 Sp. Def, 4 HP -Discharge -Flash Cannon -Hidden Power Fire -Thunder Wave/Substitute (I had this guy ready before I found out the Yureyu Key event was getting pushed back. I'm sorry...) Roserade - Timid, Poison Point 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP -Leaf Storm -Extrasendory -Venoshock -Toxic Spikes Noivern - Timid, Frisk 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 Sp.Def -Dragon Pulse -Hurricane -Boomburst -Air Slash/Roost I do realize my team is heavily oriented towards special offense, so any replacements would be great. If the next gym leader is who I think it is, I'll replace Noivern, but for now, she'll stay. Have fun. guys and gals. I leave it to you.
  9. Congratulations, Nadrel! I don't really know what to say, other than massive props to you for actually completing this challenge! I'm glad I was able to help, even if it was just a little bit. I look forward to seeing this continue in episode 16!
  10. This is a pretty cool combo! I like the idea you have here. For Ninetales, I would go with Will-o-Wisp, just because of the utility that it has. Espeon has you covered on Psychic STAB, so there's no need for Extrasensory, and Foul Play can be somewhat situational. On espeon, I think Dazzling Gleam might be a better option over Shadow Ball, since without it, Dark and Dragon types give your duo problems. Aside from that, it looks good! I'll post any more suggestions if I think of them. Good luck!
  11. Honestly, I agree with ICE. Rain is your best friend in this gym. Honestly, if you have a pokemon with Surf and another with Telepathy and Rain Dance, this gym battle can be over in about three minutes. With your team, you have a few options. Aside from Rain Dance, spread moves are your best friend. A few options include: teaching Rain Dance to Driflblim and leading with it. Set up Rain Dance, then proceed to attack. You could use Torterra and Earthquake, which hits five out of her six Pokemon for super-effective damage, or switch in Seismitoad and spam Surf. Alternatively, send in Piloswine and Blizzard the field away. Nearby Pokemon... Well, on Route 3, you can find Golett and Golurk during the daytime and nighttime, both of which learn Earthquake naturally and have good attack and decent bulk. Golurk even gets Phantom Force, which puts you in a practically invulnerable state for a turn, allowing you to use surf or another spread attack like that. Alternatively, you could combo this with Galvantula and Air Balloon, having Galvantula use Discharge and Golurk use Earthquake. If you have the Good Rod, you can fish for Claunchers in Citrine and Celestinine Mountain, which you can use as a glass cannon of sorts. It hits like a tank, but it doesn't have the best bulk or speed, so be careful. You can also find Starly and Staravia on Route 3, which, as a Staraptor, can hit quite hard with Reckless Brave Bird (I would say Double-Edge as well, but as far as I'm aware, that can only be obtained by breeding with either Togetic or Togekiss, which are only available from the Police Mystery Egg as of E15). If you have a Noibat or even Ducklett, try evolving them. Both Noivern and Swanna get Hurricane, which hits hard and has a 30% confusion chance. Swanna can also spam Surf and can set up Rain Dance, if needed. One of the best Pokemon I can recommend for this is Walrein, which can be found in Ametrine Mountain as a Spheal. Not only is quite bulky (bulkier than Piloswine and Mamoswine), but it also has access to Blizzard by level-up, Rest for recovery, the ever-loved Surf and Rain Dance, Swagger, and Thick Fat, further increasing its bulk. Seriously, give Walrein a try. If I recall correctly, the level cap before beating Charlotte is 70, is it not? As much as I hate to say it, grinding up to about 67 or 68 on all of your Pokemon may help a lot. If you want to go the extra mile and get to 69 or even 70, feel free. Keep in mind that Ninetales, her ace, is at level 72, so she can turn the battle around once she sends it out. Also, if you still want to use Piloswine, it might help to go back to Agate Circus and reteach Piloswine Ancient Power just to evolve it, as Mamoswine is just a hair bulkier, faster, and stronger than Piloswine, which could make a difference in battle. As for Magneton, you need the Yureyu Key to open the back generator room of the Abandoned Power Plant. It can be found via a giant strength puzzle in the Byxbysion Wasteland, but I don't believe you can go back and get it at this point, sadly. You'd either have to wait until the end of E15, where they give you access to Reborn City again as a courtesy, or wait until you can use Waterfall and use the strength glitch to get back into Reborn, which is kinda... well, to each their own, I guess. You can also get Rotom from that generator room, which is a very useful Pokemon. Once you get access to Reborn City again, this video should help out with that: (Credit goes to Lostelle, a wonderful member of the forums here). That's all I've got. If i think of anything else, I'll edit this post. Hope this helped!

    Hi!

Welcome to Reborn, my good sir!
  13. I have about 120 pages of economics to read and three quizzes to take by midnight tonight. I also have to read Act IV of Hamlet before tomorrow. I still think the forums are a better use of my time...
  14. I'm pretty sure that Nidoking gets Surf as well, so perhaps that could be the fourth coverage move? In that case, I need to find out if we can currently obtain Wise Glasses. If not, I'll just use the one Life Orb I have. As for Barbaracle, I looked at its moveset, and I think what you suggested works best. I'll try out White Herb Barbaracle, especially if the gym leader for E16 is who I think it is... Finally, Chesnaught. I got the Chespin egg from the Oddishweed quest, but I have no idea what to run on it. I guess I'll spend some time looking at its movepool and building sets. As far as I know, we can currently get Abomasite, Banettite, Heracronite, and Pinsirite. I was planning of breeding for a Pinsir and Heracross, but I guess I'll go for Snover and Shuppet as well, now that I think about it. As for Metagross, you can bet that I did the Beldum event as soon as possible. I think I've done every event in the game so far except for Darumaka... I keep forgetting that one. Thank you both for the suggestions!
  15. Granbull, huh? I remember falling in love with Granbull in the Emerald Battle Frontier way back when. This could be useful as a physical fairy-type, since I wasn't lucky enough to get Azurill from the mystery egg and Mawile doesn't have it's mega yet. I'll give it a shot! As for the fourth move for your granbull, perhaps try one of the elemental fangs? Also, if you have a full team you'd like to suggest, by all means, do so! Alright, I think I'll do this as a list...Gardevoir - I already have one on my team, and she's put in quite a bit of work. I have a specially-offensive set with destiny bond for taking out crucial Pokémon. *CoughTerra'sGarchompCough* Nidoking - I can see where you're coming from with this. Sheer force Nidoking could be powerful. Would you recommend a physical or special set? Steelix - I could definitely see lead Steelix being viable. I could maybe Sub/SR with EQ and Ice Fang, or roar for a goofy phasing set. I like this suggestion. Rotom - I was planning to use Rotom-Wash (it was the first Pokémon I was going to breed for), but I guess I can make one Rotom for each form. I was gonna use a weird dual screen set with light clay, but I'll play around and see what works. Also, if you wanted to change Rotom's forms, there's a house in Ametrine city that will let you do it. Machamp - Used on in my Sapphire playthrough, and it put in work. I'm assuming it got better in later gens, so I'd definitely be down to use this. Barbaracle - I've never used this Pokémon before, but I remember some hype in early X and Y over shell smash Barbaracle. I'll try Shell Smash and white herb. I like this one, as well. Emolga, huh? I thought it's usefulness declined after early game. That set actually seems pretty cool, though. I was going to breed Dedenne because of nuzzle, but I think Emolga might make better use of it. Thanks, St3ffo!
  16. Well, as the title says, I finally caught up to current events in Reborn, and now comes the wait for E16. As such, I'm going to start training up some new team members in my spare time. However, since this is Reborn, I figured I'd try something different. I'd like some suggestions on Pokemon and sets that may not be the everyday standard 'mon or set, but still get the job done. Bonus points for Pokemon that almost nobody uses; the "diamonds in the rough," so to speak. I'm interested in seeing what sets have worked for people, and I'm excited to try some Pokemon that I've never used before!
  17. This photo is somewhat old, but it's the coolest one I have... I was performing "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World at a concert. I'm the guy shredding the air guitar. I think I was 15 or 16 at that time... Wow, my hair was weird back then.
  18. Let's give this a shot. Name: Kuro. My real name is too long to put on here... Age: 17. Birthday: October 30th. Location: Some small town in Texas. Height: 6.0" even. Hair Color: Brown, although there are a few blonde spots here and there. Eye Color: Blue. Lives With: Father, mother, brother, and two border collies. Pets? ...Two border collies, River and Wendy. It feels weird saying that right after i mentioned them in the "Lives with" section. Relationships? Life's hard enough already. If she's out there, I haven't found her yet. Crushes lately? No, sir. Dream job? Musician/Recording Artist. Music's done a lot for me throughout my life. If I can use it to make people smile, then I can truly say I've accomplished something with my life. Currently playing: Pokémon Reborn. Waiting for the games of Fall 2016 to come out. Favorite food: Arroz y Pollo con caraotas negras, yuca frita, y vegetales. Rice and chicken with black beans, fried yuca, and vegetables. Favorite drink: Water... It's boring, I know. Favorite color: Blue. Favorite kind of music: Almost anything in D♭. Favorite band: Too many. I can't pick just one. Favorite album: Same as the above answer. Favorite game: Man, I'm so indecisive. Dragon Quest IX was pretty fun. Favorite genre of games: Either RPGs or First-Person Shooters. Favorite hobbies: Creating music, reading, swimming, gaming, or sleeping. Favorite movies: Deadpool was pretty good. Absolutely hilarious, although I understand that it isn't for everybody. Favorite shows: I don't watch a whole lot of TV, sadly. When I do, I guess I go for either Hawaii Five-O or Masterchef. I guess I could also go for anime, in which case I'd say... 91 Days. That show has been quite a ride, especially considering recent developments.
  19. Sorry for the late response! I didn't believe it at first when I saw that you posted on my thread, but I am honored that you took the time to suggest so many songs, Arkhi! Let's do this.4 AM - Really cool song. I don't mind transcribing lyrics; I've had to do it for some Japanese songs before, and that was... Interesting, to say the least. Anyways, this one is a yes. Midnight Moon - I could probably hit both parts on this song, but I'll try both solo and duet to see which works best. Another yes. XO - I can see what you mean by "twinge of sadness". His vocal range sits comfortably within mine, and the song itself evokes quite a bit of emotion. I can see quite a few people relating to it. Yet another yes. No More - While I do like this song, I can't say I like it as much as some of your other suggestions. I'm not quite sure what it is about the song, but I just wasn't immediately hooked like your other suggestions. I will still consider it, though. Chosen One - This song was beautiful. It's the same deal as Midnight Moon in regards to vocals. I'd be down to cover this. Cut to Black - I loved the vibe this song presented. I'd love to cover this, as well. Magenta - I never thought I'd find another nano fan on here! Yes, her notes are a bit high, but I can still attempt to work toward it. I was planning on covering Sable, Exist, Born to Be, and Now or Never at some point, so I can add this to the mix, as well. Thrive - I'd either have to do acoustic with this, or find an instrumental, because I'm not the best at recreating this type of music. However, this song gives me a feel-good vibe, and I would love to cover it. Don't worry about bombarding me with suggestions. I'm going to create a list of all the songs I plan to cover, and I will get to all of the songs eventually. I should hopefully still be doing this in college, so I'll have about five years to get to all the songs people want. So, there's no need for modesty! Thank you very much for your suggestions! Oh, man. My father and little brother are both obsessed with this song. If I eventually do this one, I'll have to do it when they aren't home, or else I'll never get it done! This suggestion made my day.
  20. I appreciate the advice! I've always had trouble putting my own spin on things, as the perfectionist inside of me always tells me "that's not good enough", and that original artist sang it best. It's just a habit I need to break for myself, and I'll have to work on it as I practice the songs you guys suggested. It's a wonderful bit of advice. Thank you! Also, don't worry about the genres. I used to be very closed off, listening only to a few kinds of music. As I grew up, I realized that the wider the range of music I could perform, the better I would end up in the future. I suppose it's just a part of growing up. I'm glad to see other singers with diverse preferences! Thank you for the kind words! Even the smallest things keep me going forward, so this means a lot! I believe this falls just within my range, so I'll definitely consider it.
  21. Round 3! Trees - This sounds like something I'd sing. It's a yes from me. Me Voy Enamorando - I might have to do this one just because the guys who sing it are Venezuelan, like me. Cool song, but I'd need to find someone else to do it with. The Glory - Maybe. Rap has never been my most loved genre, but it may be time to step out of my comfort zone a bit. Shiki no Uta - I don't even believe I can do this song justice. I can give it a shot, but I'm not quite sure where I'd go with it. We'll see. If I do end up doing it, the result may be very interesting. I'll look at any further responses tomorrow. Thanks so much! I've found 10+ new songs to listen to and perform in one day!
  22. Thanks for the suggestions! Ok...Por Ti Volaré - This was actually quite pleasant to listen to. I'm not sure if I can produce as beautiful a sound as the person singing it manages to do, but I will challenge myself with this song. I'd love to do it. Fotografía - This would definitely be cool as a duet! I may perform this one in concert, as well. If so, same deal as the above post - I'll see what I can do about the live recording of that. Time After Time - I didn't really connect with this song as much as the others. I may do it, but I'd much rather do one of these other songs. A male acoustic version might not be bad, though... Towa ni tomo ni - Another great pick. I have a friend, who also happens to be named Kuro (complete coincidence; and yes, he is a different person), that I will have to talk into performing this song. Wonderwall - The one by Oasis, right? This sounds the most like "me", or at least what I sound like according to the people who've heard me sing. It's a cool song; I'd love to perform it. Chrono Trigger the Musical - This was extremely funny. If I am ever bored one day, I might do this. Excuse me while I go play this on repeat until I'm in tears. Good stuff! You, my friend, have excellent taste in music. I like these songs!
  23. Praise the sun! I didn't expect a response this quickly. I took the time to listen to these songs, and here are my thoughts:Faded - I'd actually heard this song before, but I didn't realize it until you pointed out the name. A male acoustic version would be pretty cool, actually. It's a yes from me. If it means a lot - Cool song. I might be able to cover this in concert, actually. If I do, I'll see what I can do about recording the live footage. It'll be a long while, though; at least the beginning of next year. Little Lion Man - Heard this one, too. It's not as huge a fan of this one, but that doesn't mean I won't cover it. I'll give this one some thought. R.I.P Bon - I know there's screaming, but the singing itself is pretty good. I mean, it's kinda like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas a little bit. If I can find someone who can scream, I'd sing it, no problem. Even acoustic would be cool, but I figure it would detract from the song somewhat. Sunrise - This one hit a little too close to home. It really resonated with me on an emotional level, as it reminds me a bit of my past. Definite yes on this one. Thank you so much for the suggestions! Let's keep them coming!
  24. Let's see... 1) I can't handle social situations. I either end up saying next to nothing, or I make unintentionally drive the conversation to awkward silence, which never ends well for the parties involved. It's a bad cycle. 2) Procrastination. It causes me so much stress and drains my sleep (I absolutely crack under pressure), but some of the best work I've ever done has been the day before or even ON a due date. 3) Tying in to procrastination, I have a serious case of laziness. It's borderline lethargy, really. If I don't enjoy doing something, or if I don't have the desire to work, I will waste so much time in bed doing nothing or doing meaningless tasks just to get out of doing other work. This is the problem I'm most worried about, to be honest. I hate my flaws, but I can't say I hate myself because of these flaws, as I still manage to live a (somewhat) normal life despite them. Anyways, cool topic. It actually brightnes my day up a bit and got my thinking after the absolute boredom that is school. Props to you, Lagspike. Awesome name, by the way.
  25. So, I'm sure we've all had a moment or two where we've been sitting around in our rooms with nothing to do, bored out of our minds. We all have something we prefer to do during these times. In my case, I turn to music. Ever since I was little, I've loved singing (not always to my family's pleasure. I sing a bit too much.), and I turn to it when I'm bored. Now that I'm older and have a source of income, I've been working towards starting a cover channel on YouTube; I'm saving up to buy a mic for recording vocals. But, there's one thing I need - songs to cover. That's where I'd like the assistance of you wonderful guys and gals. If you have any songs you'd like to hear me cover, please leave them down below. I'll take almost all suggestions into consideration, but there's a few things I won't do. First off, I'm a guy in high school. I can't hit really high soprano notes with the power needed to make them shine. Please, try to limit suggestions to songs with male vocals. Songs with male/female duets are ok; I've got some female friends who wouldn't mind singing with me. English, Spanish, and Japanese songs are preferred, but I don't really mind other languages. Lastly, please no death metal, screamo, or anything of the sort. If it's... what's the word? Harder? If it's harder than... Linkin Park, please don't suggest it. I terribly apologize if anything I said came off as rude or impertinent, or if this is the wrong place to post this; I can assure you, it was not my intention to offend anybody or break the forum rules. I'll gladly change anything that needs to be changed. And with that, I pass the baton to the forum! I look forward to seeing what you guys suggest!
