@Wolfox Could you please stop with you Zexal hate >_< Yugi created new cards on the fly that were never featured again. Jaden literally created a whole deck. Yusei upgraded Stardust Dragon every time he was in a pinch, and Yuya altered his deck radically between every duel. And Yusaku has created a card once per duel so far. 

Shining draw was a fun mechanic overall, and more justified than in other series.

You easily won despite being down a player, which while impressive, doesn't show much competence on the side of your opponents. 

The ones where you dominate without giving the opponents a chance to do anything?

That's probably among the worst types of games, just behind being dominated oneself. The best games are the close ones where both teams have a chance at victory, and everyone is forced to give it their all.

Not like Respawn has done anything of note though... I doubt anyone would miss them

Overall I enjoyed the anime, but I would in no way called it a great one, not even good. Perhaps straddling the line between mediocre and passable. But claiming it's the spawn of satan like many people do is an exaggeration.

Funny thing is, Yuma at the end became the strongest Duelist across all of Yugioh. It's a shame it had such a mediocre first season and overall poor supporting cast, since people didn't get to see the stellar duels later on.

Read pop-history books, original historical sources are boring like that. Or even better Podcasts like Hardcore History or the Youtube series ExtraHistory are a great gateways into history.

Your best course of action would probably have been to let her speak her mind, and accept her words with decency and a mild temper. It would probably have soured the overall discussion less.

Why am I getting the impression, that you waited all night for kids to arrive, with a bowl of candy by your side, trying your hardest to refrain from eating it, while gets increasingly distraught as no one arrived?

You would pretty quickly get a reputation as the grumpy  old man of your town, and kids would start avoiding you. I think it'd be more fun to run it as a long con, every 10th group orso you pull this, while treating  every single other group very generously. You have some kids bragging about how much candy they got from you, while other groups get crushed by utter appointment. 

You get the pleasure of building up expectations, then crushing them while at the same time not feeling super sick. I'd say it's a win-win.
