  1. I thought the dungeon master was there as a joke (?) Ali is the dungeon master. Also I doubt mafia will be after Aldo if that's all his role does. He has already given out all the info he had and unless alignment isnt revealed upon death then that's all his ability will ever be useful for unless he gets a level up.
  2. I'm getting a bad vibe from nicki too, but Ali is the one I suspect the most. His suspicion against me is not warranted at all, at least from my point of view but I guess that knowing my own role gives me some insight that others might lack when reading me. I kinda understand the reasons he might have suspected me at first but I don't think those hold up anymore. Hell, I could see Ali being arsonist himself and abstaining N1 just to be able to say that he was doused instead. Might look like a waste of a night, but it makes him a lower priority for the several other killing roles and even the lynches. He's contributing, sure, but even then his contributions lack substance. He seems more interested in promoting random lynches than in making any significant attempt at bringing new ideas to the table, especially telling at this point of the game. [Eliminate] Ali
  3. I see kiet's logic but I doubt he's right. It might be the level up ability of the Vanilla NPC but surely not the base one.
  4. I agree with what has been said, I won't bother repeating it. [Reveal] Vanilla NPC So let's make some guesses. Barbarian: Maybe resistance to the wounded status (making it last for longer) or the ability to become wounded instead of insta dying. A berserker kind of ability that kills when killed would be a good fit too. Bard: Could be anything, but the description points towards an ability that would alter investigation results. I dont know what else, I guess a case could be made for a penguin style ability but the description doesnt match a lot. Cleric: If this isn't the doctor then I will be surprised. I'm at a loss for a secondary ability tho. Druid: The description makes me think of a trapper/granny style of role, but I'm not very convinced. Fighter: Starts with a weapon or armor maybe (?) or they are a vigilante style role but I'm not sure if there will be too much of that in this game since items are a thing and it's not like many of the other classes have less of an ability to kill. Monk: Idk first level ability, but the second might be a powerful one if this description is anything to go off of. Maybe the ability to withstand an attack or lynch that would normally kill the monk (?) Paladin: Maybe an alignment-based ability? It could be cop or even a variant vigilante. Ranger: Tracker/watcher is a perfect fit. They might start with a bow. The sharing game part makes me think there's a support ability being hinted but I don't know what that would be. Rogue: Thief is a perfect fit, I'll be surprised if they don't have the ability to steal items in some way. Maybe they are hard to track or investigate? There's also a strong case for a vigilante ability (again, which is why i doubt it a little, but who knows) Sorcerer: A rng based ability? Doesn't sound like itll be too reliable but who knows. Casters have the opposite problem martial classes have, instead of all of them fitting into a single role (ahem vigilante) I feel like they could all go in a lot of different ways. Warlock: Could go a lot of ways, but I'm thinking cool ability but strange wincon. Wizard: Once again this could go in a lot of ways, and the description is a bit vague. Less powerful sorcerer but with more control? Blood Hunter: This is the one that sounds the most like a vigilante, but I'm still not sure. Maybe they just wound people. Artificer: This one is obvious, the description says it all. I don't think they can hand out bows tho.
  5. When someone dies of haunting don't complain,,,, If we all agree newt is likely to be the jester we should be voting someone else and letting the vigilante kill him tonight.
  6. I'm not a fan of giving the coyote endless guns and more options to pick them from, with three deaths on our side and four killing roles in total this game will have ended in two phases if we arent careful. Not only that, if you actually corner a monster they are likely to claim an important role, and if they do thats a death sentence for the person that has to counterclaim. That's fair, but you all will get used to it after a few games This is probably not going to be a super popular move but my reasons should be obvious. [Eliminate] Kiet
  7. I just dont have a lot to act on, as I said I'm still thinking about how we should approach scumhunting in this game. I don't think we can do the usual thing because it's way too easy for evil roles to take the reins and shield themselves, since they don't have anything to lose from hunting other scum. And even though we are aware of that I know that if someone is the head figure leading the scum hunt we are not likely to lynch them. Besides, it's not a secret that I'm a bit tired of being always a suspect, so I have been trying to tone down my presence in the last few games. I get why you're voting me and I'm not surprised in the slightest, I'll be surprised if I dont end up lynched or having to roleclaim at some point. Here's a question, though: what will you do if you manage to put the pressure you want on any of the people you mentioned? Will you push for a roleclaim? Or will you be satisfied with being told "I'm not one of the evil guys"? Because I don't know where you stand, but from my point of view none is particularly practical.
  8. Thanks coyote for stopping the clown in his tracks lol. I wouldn't have guessed Bok had an evil role, as I said yesterday it's incredibly easy for the baddies to pass as townies in this setup. I guess I should share my reads, although I don't have much to say. All of the regular players seem genuinely involved in scumhunting like they would in any other game, and while in other circumstances I'd have a strong townlean on most (if not all) of them I don't think that's enough in this game. As for the newer players I have a townlean on Aldo, he seems quite involved and confident and I'd expect a newer player to not be so confident with an evil role even in a setup like this (although I don't think this should let him off the hook). Falirion seems a bit more awkward and nervous, but this could be because it's his first game. I'm personally going to still keep an eye on everyone except Kiet. The only other person I'd single out is Amber, I like his response to the smol bandwagon on him and it feels townie to me even in this context (but again not enough to really let him off the hook).
  9. Well, I don't have a lot to say. I dont have a strong read on anyone as of right now, and the fact that there's not a mafia faction makes the baddies a bit more difficult to spot. They simply have no reason to not genuinely join the scum hunt, making themselves look townie while still working towards their final goal. As much as I was for the random lynch last day phase I honestly don't know how to go about it now other than wait for more information to be revealed.
  10. Oh, well, since Sopheria was mafia and she died I'm going to assume town did that and that the person I saw visit Kiet was mafia. [Eliminate] Alistair
  11. I'm still not a super fan of how knightly refuses to roleclaim, I don't see the worth of keeping his role a secret. I think Vanilla might mean Candy. If the vowel posts are anything to go off of I'd say Sopheria is my main suspect for the first and the second could go either way.
  12. Candy was a fairly safe town read tbh, there was no reason to suspect her. I find it interesting that you focused on her and not on anyone else in that list. Most of it feel like grounded honest reads but there's an outlier. It's a harsh read, way too harsh. If Jelly was mafia I don't think he'd go this far with it, he would be a bit more on the fence about it (which he would have plenty of reasons to be). Based on the fact that Kiet flipped mafia my assumption is that Jelly is town. I don't know how to explain the dissonance between what Knightly claimed and what Jelly did. Even if what knightly said was a ruse to make himself and the people who he protected look towny that'd be a bad strategy because once one of them falls the rest do. Since he also soft-roleclaimed without naming his role I think I'm going to place my vote on him until he clears that out. [Unvote] Sopheria [Eliminate] Knightly
  13. I guess it could be the briber. Since mafia was a bit underpowered last time maybe Alaris decided to buff them. [Unvote] Newt [Eliminate] Sopheria
  14. I don't know how to explain this night otherwise. There are two undisclosed mafia roles left: briber and piercer. Neither of them sounds like the kind to redirect a lynch (if a townie did it please reveal yourself and your role). If the ancient being is one of the roles in the list then its probably the vanilla villager imo. Also I'm not really buying what newt said. I don't think any of the two unrevealed mafia roles would have that ability either (again, if a townie did it then reveal yourself), but I do agree with his vote. [Reveal] Vanilla Villager [Eliminate] Newt
  15. I don't see why that would be the case, though. We now know that the puppetmaster is required to put an emoji at the end of each post, which isnt a thing bean normally does. The best use of Bean is creating a situation like this were we don't really know if it's just him being him or if something else is going on.
  16. Gather round, children. Once upon a time there was a mafia game very similar to this one, its name was "What Lies Below". One of the main attractions of the game was that all the roles were either brand new or modified, with an extra special ability that would be unlocked after a specific course of events happened. Despite the variety, though, there was a third party role that managed to stand out: ?!!?!!. The holder of the role was killed early into the game, Night 1 to be precise, and revealed as town. The following days passed as normal, a couple of deaths here and there and all that stuff, but unknown to us a power greater that we could fathom had started to shift and twist, lurking beneath the surface. It wasn't until day 6 (page 15) that it emerged, spreading its corruption everywhere. Its identity was revealed, the boy who we once thought to be one of us showed his true nature: a mere vessel that an eldritch abomination had used to infiltrate the townsfolk and make sure we would free it. The very same day it awakened it took two innocent lifes. The humans, however, were too preoccupied fighting each other and didn't act until it was way too late. There were no survivors. No one knows what happened with the ancient being, and now we stand where it all happened.
