  1. Hoenn. Was the first region I travelled through and despite all the water I loved it. Starter would be treecko and my endgame team would be Sceptile- on my first run I chose this guy and i still love him for the badass he is. Manectric- my faithful companion. Milotic- I like its elegant and mystic design. Exploud- it looks stupid but it looks cool too. Plus it looks like the type that enjoys heavy metal! Flygon- it's a different take on the whole dragon thing and frankly I like it a lot. Absol- dark is my favorite type and absolutely just looks so badass and awesome. I also like how it's hero with bad publicity. It really adds to its character.
  2. The lucario evo line of course. I used it in all of my in game teams when it was available and was regularly my ace and highest leveled Pokemon. Also...... I just loved his movie.
  3. Hope this doesn't come out as rude. I like my ability to remain detached from stuff. Don't get me wrong, I'm not heartless. I don't show emotion and I think it allows me take everything objectively. This really helps me in life and not something everyone can do easily. In addition, I'm proud of my ability to hold steadfast to my beliefs. I see a lot of people who tend to change themselves and their opinions to fit better but I feel disgusted by that notion. I will be me. I am the only me. I have my bad sides and I also have my good sides. I'm not changing myself to fit someone else's views. I want people to like me for being myself.
  4. While reborn is indeed a great game there are some things I just didn't like. For one, it's when Cain just delays giving the key to the wasteland. I mean just give me the key and you go to apophyll and get the HM. I mean I'm surprised the orphans were alive for so long considering how much we had to go through at that part of the game with the reserve gym leader plot. While that part of the game had it's cool moments it was unnecessarily long. Second of all is something that has been stated many times before. I hate having to read that diary. Finally I hate how some npcs just do whatever they want while the player character just stands still like an idiot. It just irks me at times considering that these player characters are much more badass than the canon player characters in the main games.
  5. Well I'm at my last year at school. A few more days and life will turn into hell for me with university and stuff. All this time I've personally thought I drifted through life. Study, eat, sleep and repeat ya know. Although I still have stuff ahead of me I'm not really looking forward to it. I'm kind of the guy who takes one thing at a time and hardly cares what may come his way. I personally don't have some important goal in mind. I guess I could settle for mechanical engineering but my sights are set on being a writer although I have been discouraged from that path many times saying that it won't lead to a successful life and other stuff. But I still hope that I can make a name as a writer. Writing makes me feel alive.
  6. Well I suck badly at team building so I decided to post this team to get some opinions on it. It revolves around mega altaria and lucario. Lucario is my favorite mon and so I decided to make a team featuring him. I was looking for a suitable sweeping partner for him when I changed upon mega altaria who has recently started growing on me so without further ado. Tyranitar @ Black Glasses Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpD Relaxed Nature - Stealth Rock - Stone Edge - Pursuit - Ice Beam My usual lead and rock setter. Ice Beam for landorus. Initially the hippopotamus was in Godzilla's place but I eventually replaced it. Tyranitar, despite having a worse typing, accomplished a lot more than hippowdon. Pursuit trapping stuff is awesome and tar's s defense boost from sandstorm is very helpful along with the chip damage. Tar is a good counter to talonflame but u turn poses a bit of a problem. Serperior @ Leftovers Ability: Contrary EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe - Leaf Storm - Dragon Pulse - Hidden Power [Fire] - Glare Leaf storm spam and occasional paralysis. Serperior's speed and ability allows it to clear some of my opponent's Pokemons paving the way for lucario and altaria to clean up. I had chosen leftovers over life orb as the boost doesn't matter much after a leaf storm or so and I don't have a reliable way of getting serperior into battle. Dragon pulse handle charizard x after a leaf storm. Glare is there to paralyze faster threats that lucario can later handle. Volcanion @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD Calm Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Steam Eruption - Fire Blast - Sludge Wave - Will-O-Wisp Counter to fairy types and some other Pokemon. Volcanion was indeed an odd choice on my part. I had never used it before but it's typing and ability make tuna good mon. Volcanion stops most fairies cold in their tracks. Azumarill which otherwise wrecks the team is quickly hardly does much to him. It's fire typing allows it to handle scizor and ferrothern, two otherwise problematic Pokemon. It also takes care of Lando from time to time. I'm a bit confused about the evs hence the strange spread. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Altaria @ Altarianite Ability: Cloud Nine EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe Lonely Nature - Return - Earthquake - Roost - Dragon Dance While im not a fan of normal altaria, I have a soft spot for her mega. The balanced stat spread and it's amazing typing makes it the most versatile mon in this team. The ev spread is simple allowing it to 2hko unaware clefable with return. Early in the game, altaria serves as a wallbreaker of sorts making a good partner for lucario. Roost is to heal of chip damage of sorts. Cloud nine was chosen by because it proved more beneficial than natural cure. Lucario @ Life Orb Ability: Inner Focus EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Aura Sphere - Flash Cannon - Vacuum Wave - Nasty Plot The jackal of power. Lucario might not seem threatening at first glance but it packs a punch. Originally the roles of physical and special sweeper were rever but I found that special lucario works wonders. Lucario gains more opportunities to set up and nets many surprise kos. It's speed hampers it a bit though. Mandibuzz @ Leftovers Ability: Overcoat EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 108 SpD / 16 Spe Bold Nature - Foul Play - Roost - Taunt - Defog My defogger and wall. Mandibuzz has worked wonders for this team. She is a very cool bird and can counter things like mega metagross and gengar making it very invaluable to the team. It has surprising bulk and can also give other walls a run for their money by using taunt. Overcoat allows it to work well with tyranitar. If you have any suggestions feel free to state them. Thank you in advance.
  7. Legendaries in real life?? Sure let some dumb chap anger yveltal and bye bye cruel world. I would choose latios cause it seems friendly and wouldn't flood the world everytime it had a tantrum(looking at you kyogre). Plus I would love to fly on latios.
  8. I think a very similar topic was done. Might want to refer to that one.
  9. I tend to think of a personality based on a player character's appearance so I thought hard about this. Vero-charmander: Vero looks like a street kid but is also a cut above the rest. He has street smarts and knows his stuff but all that goes out the window when he shows his aggressive side. He favours power and has a penchant for getting into fights. The fire lizard that evolves into the battle loving dragon fits. Alice-fennekin:Alice looks like the reserved and graceful type but even then maintains a strong presence. Mystic Pokemon fit her. So delphox it is. Kuro-treecko: the guy is as cool as a cucumber. Nothing fazes him. He needs an equally cool and collected partner. Kuro also looks like a guy who is quite good at thinking things on the fly. So treecko it is. Lucia- totodile: Lucia looks like the typical energetic Genki girl. She also needs equally energetic partners. Totodile fits the bill and water types in general are known to be restless. Decibel-piplup:classy, refined and confident, decibel would easily get along with piplup. Ari-froakie:expect a rough start but these two are birds of a feather. Greninja and Ari both give the same vibes. Better not mess with them.
  10. Always wanted something like this. I would be a dark gym leader. Name:Ein Title :Dark Knight Team: Sableye(Gluttony) Houndoom(Cerberus) Bisharp(Reaper) Drapion(Greed) Tyranitar(Wrath) Mega Absol(Pride) The gym puzzle involves 5 rooms where 5 dark type Pokemon reside. Each of them holds an item which you must steal from them. Once all 5 are stolen you are allowed to challenge the gym leader. The gym is modelled after an abandoned castle. The interior is badly lit and snarls and roars are heard from time to time. Successfully brave The Darkness and you might be able to beat the gym leader himself.
  11. Meganium.... Without a shadow of a doubt. Terrible learnset, awful typing and horrible design. I wouldn't have hated meganium that much if cyndaquil and totodile weren't so awesome....

  13. Many think that its fun to go with 6 members and others think rotation mons are cool. At the end that's your opinion and the reason why your experience was amazing. I used alot of Pokemon and I have a box full of them as a way to immortalise them. They helped me along this grand adventure and for that I'm thankful to each and every one. I admit there were sometimes where I wanted to punch the computer but at the end we pulled through. The reason I was interested in reborn was the challenge. No not just the difficulty. The game just says to you "do you have what it takes to be the most badass trainer yet. Do your pokemon pals have the guts? Then bring it on!"
  14. Beating the fern and Blake battle partnered with florinia. Honestly I was quite ecstatic once I beat the two most annoying people in the game. Though the happiness was short lived since I found out I had to battle Solaris. I beat him though and the feeling of beating the guy that utterly humiliated me before was equally if not more greater than winning the battle against fern and Blake.
  15. Favourite would be the battle dome. It was really cool to view your opponent's team and then devise a strategy. Also a bit of luck involved. Plus it was stylish. Battle factory is a close second being a true test of skills and knowledge. Least favourite would be either the battle palace or battle pike. I came here to test my skills not my luck.
  16. If a sadistic teacher starts torturing his students while I'm laughing at it, does that make me a sadist, too?

    1. TimTim

      TimTim

That makes you masochist, 'cause your laugh invites the teacher's attention, you're next on his/her/xer torture list

  17. I think its been mentioned before but sturdy. I also hate not being able to run away when you are in a hurry. I hate sturdy. Protect spam is as annoying as sturdy. Also I'm beginning to think that if a move doesn't have 100% accuracy its not worth teaching my pokemon. Its annoying as heck. Also, did I mention that I find sturdy annoying? I find sturdy annoying.
  18. Either snow point city cause of the snow(even though it never snows where I live) or verdanturf town cause of the lack of pollution.
  19. Colress. Badass theme and very neat team. He also seems like a true scientist in how he would do anything to further his research. Sycamore. Cause he's French.
  20. Gengar. I... Just don't see the appeal. I mean its good competitive wise but other than it just feels too lackluster.
  21. Ah.... Grass type starters. Looked down upon many, favoured by few. I'm quite fond of them reminding me never to try and train only one pokemon but a team. As many people have said before turtwig is a very good starter. Wood hammer, earthquake, crunch and curse, all learned by level up are all that you need. Its quite bulky and good offenses will lead you to rely on it a lot. You can't go wrong with turtwig. Bulbasaur is more of a team player. Good typing and modest offenses. It won't maul teams alone. No. Don't use him like that. Sleep powder with chlorophyll is good for utility. It lacks a bit of coverage so be wary. Just don't expect him to do everything. Use him correctly and you will be rewarded. Sceptile, while having great speed, has only modest offenses. Having a higher special attack sceptile suffers from a lack of reliable moves. Leaf storm is one time use only unlike serperior. It has a great physical movepool but without swords dance the damage is quite underwhelming. Don't be discouraged. That speed stat is quite valuable and access to leaf storm around the 5th badge is quite a selling point and that physical move pool is great. Chikorita is.... Don't use it. Its horrible beyond redemption. Chespin starts of a bit shaky but chesnaught is quite good regarding offensive power along with spiky shield. Make sure bulletproof is its ability. And now my favourite... Snivy. Snivy as u have heard is the epitome of grass offense with contrary leaf storm. It can maul through entire teams with ease. Now you may think "he's only good in late game". Take my advice. Level up snivy to lvl 42,and then evolve it. Now you may think its crazy but its possible. I did it. You can manage it before fighting kiki. Fact is service and serperior are quite sub par so having snivy for so long won't be a bother as long as you're other members are good. Believe me its worth it. I destroyed kiki, half of aya's team beat arceus and so many others that its ridiculous. Teach it wring out and nature power along with giga drain or a support move and you're good. Eh... Sorry if it was too long and boring. That's all I got to say
  22. Started playing this and..... Oh my god that rayquaza.... Er.. Enough of that. Yeah this is much HARDER than reborn so good job on that. Thought as I play through the game I'll see how each leader functions and I'll see if I can provide any criticism on my part. Hope u won't mind. I just beat Julia and man she was tough. Good job on that, I salute you. The first battle I had ended in a draw with my grovyle critical hitting that darn electrode with a quick attack. Electrode fainted and took my grovyle with it using aftermath. And I lose..... Eh well. I eventually manage to win by abusing toxic spikes and fury cutter with some luck. By far the biggest threat in her team is that emolga. Acrobatics at this stage is crazy. Only evolved pokemon could take a few hits and a lack of one had me suffer against that squirrel. Electrode is nothing spectacular though. The main trouble is its speed and the fact that its an auto lose for you if you don't have anything to deal reasonable damage to it by the end of this battle of attrition. My only complaint would be heliolisk and voltorb. Heliolisk suffers from the problem of A.I is a crapshoot. It spams electrify and takes hits until it faints. While no fault of the developer I would think that a different move set is in order since otherwise this poke becomes nothing more than a sitting duck that(although rain dance does make it annoying to take it out). Voltorb is men. An inferior electrode. You are better off giving her an elekid. Voltorb is more of an annoyance than anything. It might take some time to complete this herculean task of beating all the gyms especially with tests around the corner but I'll try to give my two cents about the other gym leaders. Julia was a heck of a battle.
  23. Welcome to reborn. Would like to read some of your fanfics someday. Enjoy your stay.
