  1. I actually use Ditto as a pinch-hitter on my team occasionally... It's level 65 and it mortally wounded Terra's Garchomp and killed Ciel's Gliscor. (My team lacks a good water type, so ground types are kinda my weakness...)
  2. Or do what I did para hax him into earthquake ceiling colapse He wants to avoid the one-shot "cheat" type strategies.
  3. My strategy(In three stages): Step 1: Sturdy Onix used Rock Tomb, lowing the speed of Arceus. Arceus missed his first focus blast, so Onix lowered his speed twice. Step 2: Jolteon spammed T-wave until El used all of his full heals. Had another electric type in case Arceus wasn't parahaxed on Jolteon's first turn Step 3: Gallade's Close Combat was a 2HKO. Also had Heracross and Blaziken on standby. EDIT: Remember, in boss battles, Sturdy is your friend.
  4. Really? Using a celebrity's name on a pokemon? Who does that? An Electrode named Dynamite
  5. Anyone can go and name a pokemon after an overused entity that bears slight resemblance to it. Try harder. A Gallade named Apollo and a Gardevoir named Artemis.
  6. The prize is the extremely useful and time-saving Exp Share.
  7. Welcome person who has been here 6 times longer than me and who I am only qualified to welcome because I made my intro thread yesterday!
  8. Some that I thought of: Disciples of Helix: Duo Water/Rock run Patience and Fury: Duo Fire/Psychic run Chromatic Run: May only have one Pokemon of each type on the team at a time. (example: Heracross, Gallade and Infernape can not be on your team at the same time.) I'm new to restriction runs, so I don't know how viable these are...
  9. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I look forward to being a part of this community!
  10. So I've been playing Reborn and reading/posting on the forums for about a month now, and I just realized there was an area for new members to introduce themselves. So to start, I come from Canada, my favorite generation is Gen 3, favorite starter is Torchic (even without Speed Boost), and I'm a complete noob when it comes to making a competitive team. I came to Reborn looking for a new storyline and a game that employed both Pokemon I know well (Gen 1-3) and Pokemon I know next to nothing about (Gen 5&6). Reborn exceeded my expectations, helping me understand the value of certain evolutionary lines like the Zubat and the Pineco lines. It also met the desire for a darker and more intense storyline I didn't know I had until I started playing this game. Not to mention, I actually needed to make a plan to combat certain leaders and their counters to their weaknesses, rather than sending in one or two supereffective powerhouses and sweeping the gym. Ame has obviously put a ton of effort into this game, and I am excited to see how it ends.
  11. I found Ciel kinda hard, but I did rush in with an underleveled team, seeing as half of my aces had been fighting or grass. My only electric type at a reasonable level was Jolteon, which was level 65. Also had a level 60 Metagross, level 75 Gardevoir(My new favorite and dramatically overused pokemon), level 74 Crobat, level 64 Arcanine and level 67 Flygon. Then I grinded and used my 5 rare candies to level Jolteon to 74 and all was good... until Gliscor. Then Ditto happened. Idk why Gliscor runs Acrobatics when it's holding an item, but Ditto sure appreciated the move. Her ace, Mega Altaria, was 2HKO by Crobat's Cross Poison, which kinda disappointed me.
  12. Emolga was a staple on my team, but was dropped before Serra in favour of Jolteon, then got edged out of the flying position by Crobat. Not saying Emolga is bad, just got underleveled because of a weakness and switched out.
  13. YES! FINALLY BEAT THE LAST LEADER WITHOUT HAVING TO GRIND A FIFTH AND SIXTH MEMBER UP TO 70+!

  14. Meh, I used a group effort tactic. Tesla (Jolteon) used T-Wave, survived because paralysis, and died after one Discharge. Artemis (Gardevoir) used Psychic once and died. Apollo (Gallade) used Psycho-Cut twice and died. Nyx (Crobat) spammed Acrobatics because Swalot was in the red but kept healing slightly less than the damage. Paralysis kept Crobat around long enough to finish Swalot.
  15. I'd like to point out that the Avalugg that blocks the path is PULSE-02. (PS: Can someone tell me how to put images into posts directly from my computer? The button isn't working, no matter how many times I enter the URL)
  16. Hey can someone please tell me where I chan change my Rotom's form?

  17. I'm new, started in Episode 14...
  18. Bulbasaur, Totodile and Treeko are all viable starters that don't have in-game events to unlock them later on.
  19. I would have to choose either fire or psychic. Fire team would include Charizard, Blaziken, and Arcanine. Psychic team would include Gallade, Gardevoir, and Metagross. I'd probably be a pretty early leader since I've never done a monorun before and may have some difficulties covering the weaknesses of my team... EDIT: Maybe, just to mess with people, I'd run a team of 6 Imposter Dittos, all at the level cap, holding Brightpowders.
  20. Well... I was actually thought Ditto-Arceus would be harder... Sturdy Onix, Jolteon's Thunder Wave and Gallade's Close Combat destroyed it...

It could be that it's getting easier because we're all getting used to the amped up difficulty. We're evolving past the casual gamer of pokemon and learning how to come up with better strategies.

Well we get better, sure- but only to a point. It is obvious that Episode 15 Charolette is far easier than Episode 13 Charolette due to waaaaaaay less people making threads regarding them being stuck. The game is grttigg easier because of a combo of nerfs and an increase in player skill.

or it can just be close combat... this is what makes things like infernape and staraptor strong

  21. Episode 14.5: Julia: 1 (Combustkin + Speed Boost = Broken Starter. Also, Pachirisu's Volt Absorb worked nicely) Florinia: 1 (Combustkin is the worst nightmare of Cradily) Corey: 2 (Re-did my team for the second run, plowed through with Vibrava, Forterress, and Emolga, who were unaffected by the field. Vibrava is now called "Salvation".) Shelly: 2 (I underestimated the forest field. Second time, Growlithe burned it to the ground) Shade: 2 (Gave Emolga charge beam to take away his field advantage.) Kiki: 1 (Emolga earned the nickname "Hope") Aya: 1 (Sludge wave was evil, but Flygon's Earth Power one-shotted everything it hit, and Arcanine's Heatwave was pretty nice too. Rest of the team was fodder for healing Flygon.) Serra: 1 (Drought Vulpix. 'Nuff said.) Episode 15: Noel: 2 (Silly me, sent in a team of only fighting types. Jolteon and Crobat rounded out the team in round 2) Radomus: 1 try. Metagross, Tangrowth, Gallade, Gardevoir, Flygon and Arcanine all had their share of battle. Flygon and Arcanine didn't last long... Luna: 1 try. Earthquake to end the field. My twins (Gallade and Gardevoir) swept the gym afterwards, with Jolteon's help with the Jubjub Bird, Samson: 2 (First try my team was underleveled. Second try Gardevoir traced Blaziken's Speed Boost and swept the second half of his team)
  22. I've only played up to before Randomus's gym, but I can always count on my Tangrowth and my Arcanine to pull through. Honorable mentions for my aces include Blaziken, Flygon, and Crobat. EDIT: After Radomus, Gardevoir started destroying literally everything. I can see why Ame moved her back to post-poison gym.
  23. If you are running mono-dark, it makes sense that it wouldn't spam a dark-type move against you. Just sayin'...
