You know there already is a "Desert Field" - so far it's used only in Flobot's gym. I can't remember any other place. I figured Titania will probably use either Flobot's Desert or Shade's Factory field (since she uses steel type). As for Adrienn my prediction is Misty terrain.

Does shadow ball got replaced with shadow claw on shade gym ?
enu replied to Trixi's topic in Reborn City
No. Only by hacking your save file or switching back to E14 when battling Shade. -
With this list of achievements it seems like we pulled Fern to the dark side.
-
Probably not (aside from the part visible between Corey's and Shade's gyms). I mean Ame had to re-map all of the city and many other areas as well for E16. And it's very likely that the next Gym leader is Adrienn. The desert probably won't be accessible until we're about to face Guardian Titania. Also we're getting close to 90% - which means the next field should be revealed soon! Hype?
-
Dive can't be used there because story-wise you would not be able to reach this place normally yet. Not after gaining access to dive at least. The spot will be diveable in E16.

Well it's about time! On the other hand you still have way too many bad mega stones. ;-) First destination is Tanzan Cove and Peridot to finish that side-quest. Then finally Coral - I want to look if there is a Togepi + you got me hyped for the "underwater ward" or whatever that is.

The game should create backups automatically. You just need to find your corrupted savefile and replace it with some working backup file.
-
Anyone have a save file just before the gym leader Samson?

Here, have fun with my precious eeveelutions! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7224702/Game.rxdata -
I don't really mind if you cut insanity mode. IntSys said quite clearly that it's a question of sweeping and in some cases X-items. I prefer strategy over sweeping so normal Hardcore is probably enough. No-Items mod is a different story though. When I asked you to implement it I specifically said I'm planning to play it once E16 Hardcore is released (I want to enjoy the new move animations and other E16 changes). Getting it implemented early and then cut again in E16... please don't do that to me? :-)
-
Any chance to see the animations originally planned for E17 in E16 instead? Great work with the animations!
-
Or you can feed it some common candies to get it right below the level where it learns the move and then just level it up again.
-
First I'll go through the new E16 content with all side-quests and dive locations etc. Then I want to enjoy all the new move animations and other stuff in the game so I'll definitely start a new run. Most probably CoM Hardcore No-Items run this time. After three runs regular Reborn feels too easy. Maybe I'll even record some videos from the Gym battles.

I have a laptop with Ubuntu now. Installed wine and tried running Reborn. At first it started fine but the music only worked for first two seconds or so, the game was mute after that. So I closed to see if it would work better on second try. Now the game won't start at all with some long and unclear wine error message. :-(

Nice glitch. Unfortunately you won't be able to get very far without HM moves. You'll get stuck before Obsidia PULSE battle.

That reminds me that most megas don't have shiny sprites. But maybe they were added since E15.

Hmm I guess it's beating the Solochomp during my Eeveelutions run. I had a lot of fun coming up with a strategy to beat him - I refused to use healing items and I was restricted to only 7 pokemon speecies: Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Umbreon, Espeon and Sylveon. Ice and Moss Rocks are later in the game so I couldn't use a Glaceon or Leafeon. Well it would have been too easy with a Glaceon anyway. The first strategy I tried was this: - 3 lvl 1 Eevees with Baby-Doll Eyes - priority move to cut attack one stage. - 1 lvl 1 Eevee with Baby-Doll Eyes and Charm - cuts attack by two stages but required the only one Focus Sash in the game to survive a hit. - Together the Eevees were able to cut Solochomp's attack to -6 (which is the minimum). - Sylveon was able to survive one hit and set up Misty Terrain changing the field. - Vaporeon tried to kill Solochomp with Aurora Beam - it is Ice type so x4 effectiveness against Garchomp and Sylveons Misty Terrain removed the Super-heated field which would normally halve ice attacks. - Result: Failed because Aurora Beam still was not able to do any serious damage to Solochomp (less than 1/4 of max HP part of which was healed by Leftovers). So I came up with a new strategy that required a brand new Vaporeon with a very carefully selected moveset. Training this Vaporeon was a pain in the ass because I had to level Eevee all the way to level 33 and then Common Candy it all the way back to level 25 to finally evolve it and train it to level 40. With this my second strategy was possible: - 4 kamikaze Eevees to cut Solochomp's attack to -6 (same as the first strategy). - After that it was time for the Vaporeon to shine. - Use Acid Armor 3 times boosting defense by +6 (maximum). - Use Aqua Ring for HP regeneration. - Use Covet to steal Leftovers. (Yes, Covet was Vaporeon's only attacking move.) - Baton Pass the Acid Armor and Aqua Ring to Sylveon. - At this point it was all up to Sylveon. - Use Misty Terrain to set up misty field boosting both Moonblast and Aqua Ring. - Aqua Ring was boosted even further by Sylveon's Big Root - effectively healing any damage right away. - Use the field-boosted super-effective STAB Moonblast to attack - each Moonblast inflicted damage equal to almost a half of Solochomp's max HP. - Result: Succeeded after several tries - the weak point was that critical hit ignores stat changes so Solochomp could OHKO the Vaporeon or the Sylveon when lucky. - Comment: The Big Root was not really necessary in the end, maybe not even the Aqua Ring. Instead if I gave Sylveon a Metronome it could probably finish it with two hits leavining Solaris no time to use his full restores. My second proud moment was OHKOing Dittoceus with Sylveon's Pixilated Trump Card. :-P

This looks awesome. Btw, I think I've seen a topic somewhere with an ongoing project of overworld shiny sprites. That might be a nice addition too. Can't find the topic now though. Also would it be possible to put this into the original Reborn in the future? EDIT: Found the topic with shinies but unfortunately the project seems dead. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20440

TM 04 - Calm mind.. I Think I should have it, but I don't see it.. Help.
enu replied to Aloha's question in On the Hunt
Sadly Light Screen TM is not available either. Espeon is good but yeah without these moves it's movepool kind of sucks. On the other hand it gave me the opportunity to have Vaporeon use Acid Armor 3 time, Baton Pass it to Espeon and then have Espeon use Stored Power... Totally overwhelming. For Light Screen I'm using Sylveon who learns it by level - usually with Light Clay. Works really good against most Gym Leaders - especially Charlotte's AI was totally confused. She used Heat wave... twice... against two Vaporeons... behing Light Screen... when raining... -
Thanks for the update Commander! :-) I think you should make it clear that the No Item Run has no effect on held items - only disables non-held items like potions and revives. Or at least I hope that's the case...
-
Very nice field effect! You might want to boost some of these abilities as well: Symbiosis, Flower Veil, Magic Guard So... since you no longer have an Absol to spoil a death you had to do it yourself huh? I just hope it isn't Amaria or Titania. Can't have those two dying until I challenge them!
-
Yeah. DerogatoryTrainer actually used Absol's Life Orb in his Nuzlocke and gave it to his Sheer Force Druddigon. ... Of course with the nasty trick I shared here recently it's possible to get dozen of Life Orbs - not easy but doable.

Hax queen? You mean Serra? Wait Serra is doubles in hardcore? :-O In regular reborn I crushed her with Magneton's Mirror Shot (Froslass was the only thing capaple of doing something about it). I'll have to try that again in hardcore. :-P
-
I've always played reborn without using potions and with battle-style set. And I'm planning to play hardcore the same way - I'll just wait for E16. What I never liked was that even though I don't use healing items (save held berries) the NPCs still do. First it is a bit unfair and second the AI is so stupid about using them that there was a ton of cases when they actually lost because they used a potion when they shouldn't have - giving me time for important status move or OHKO. Therefore I'd like to play hardcore without NPCs using potions (including status heals, restores,...) either - would it be possible to make a mod like that or integrate it into the game (optional of course)? If yes feel free to disable potions for the player during battles as well while you're at it - I won't use them either way.
-
I'm not! And I'm really curious to see how Reborn looked back then and how much it has improved since. Any chance you could post it somewhere? Please? :-) Good job with eventing!
