  1. There's something simply majestic about my Anatomy teacher taking his 2-foot l9ng baby alligator out of it's tank and watching it piss on him in a frenzy.

      Tickets to that please

  2. One Piece, despite how much it gets bashed, actually has some pretty deep philisophical points and thought-out plotlines. Not sure why it gets railed at all other than the occasional dumb nature of our favorite rubber boy.

Because those plot points are surrounded by a lot of other negatives. Like the contrasting portions of comedy and drama, goofy character designs and the host of issues people can have with the long shounens

Don't even know where to begin zim. There's racism on other species, oppression by governments and pirates, revolutionaries, world-rending weapons, etc. And just about no 2 people are the same on all those matters, even though Shonen Jump may gloss over it.

The thing that makes One Piece great is that despite Oda being batshit insane, he never forgets about a character. They're all unique with their smile, their laugh, and you never know when someone who wasn't important before suddenly pops back up with major plot involvement like Bellamy.

  3. Honestly man, this is a hard one for everyone. Everyone's always different in terms of coping with the death of a loved one, also depending on who it was and how you felt about them, and maybe how they died, etc. I could sugarcoat it, but death is not something you can exactly mask the rot over. You are smart right now, distracting yourself with other things. It will shelf away the grief you possess for the right moments, until you can appropriately express it (like at the funeral) because harshly negative feelings (e.g - depression) can cloud your true judgment on certain things, and you could end up dragging yourself down. Like Drayker says, your family and maybe friends are your best chance at solace, because we are merely strangers on the net, although we at least care enough to express our opinions on how to advise you in the waters you tread. Learning to accept the inevitable is the best way for you to come to terms with this in due time, because everyone dies at one point, and suffering is merely part of the great treasure of human existence. I'm sorry for your loss, and I do hope you can rationally come to terms with what has come. Steel yourself, like Drayker says, because wallowing in pity only worsens the feeling. You'll eventually move on in due time, because it's all life man.
  4. Would anyone be interested in trying out a One Piece style RP?

  5. If my main man were in there not Ross thank God it'd depend on how much you could tolerate a young man with a bigger thirst for battle than Achilles. If you could, maybe a little something could have been worked out.
  6. *chuckles* despite ALL the crap anime may put us through, there are some hefty lessons you can happily hang your hat on.

Personally, I am fine with the crap part too. Well, depending on how crappy it is of course.

  7. Having spirit week at my school. Tomorrow we have to dress up as a character. It hinges on whether or not I could bring an empty, not full, novelty-sized beer bottle. Pondering intensifies

  8. Ladies and gentlemen. Start your engines. Tbh I might be busy with the new Redemption League, but by all means keep me posted if there's an opening

  10. *Patiently waits for Chim to review the replacement, but finds understanding in writing chapter 1 comes first* Prolly should follow along, just in case someone makes the unfortunate drop, if the reserve list isn't too large.
  11. Ew my dreams from napping. Dreamed I smoked an ungodly fat joint of weed, and then sprouted some wings. Let's just say I was reeaaallllyyy high after that...

  12. Like Commander said. We've pretty much worn out most of our considerably good ideas, from what I and others have seen, without us going in another loop. This is stemming a tad too far from the original question and statement that was presented to us, instead talking about changing the subforum rather than RPs themselves 'round here. Please shaddap people. That and I'm tired of seeing these walls of text that all allude to about the same point and counter point.
  13. Y'know that is probably the greatest irony I'm still trying to understand on this forum. I'm one of the "newer" guys in these parts (if you'd wanna call me that), but I've seen this problem on Reddit before when I was RP'ing there, particularly when our groups had to move around in the Walking Dead one I was in. People would get pissed off because the host had intentions to keep the story moving on, without most a care for the RP'ers which was ultimately why I quit RP'ing on Reddit. I took a stab at the player independence idea literally with my first ever brainchild - Project Eternal, which was a resoundingly putrid flop for I don't know whatever reason. I literally just slapped together bits and pieces of the world together, like safe havens and enemies, and even a "randomizer" of my own creation called Shit Happens, to add some cynical realism to the whole thing. I set out to make it SPECIFICALLY a sandbox RP. Yet, I still can't figure out why there were no takers to the deal. Everyone's covered mostly what I might have touched upon, but there's some two cents for you.
  14. The feels when you gimp an air attack with Little Mac and net a win.

  15. Seems like there's a fine ambiguous line between being noble and foolish. Still need to figure it out.

  16. Don't you just hate those absolute dicks that blow the 2 and a half minutes on the battle timer EVERY SINGLE TURN?

No, I mean every...single...turn.... Particularly when they're stalling the inevitable.

I can relate to this. They think if they take away your life's time, you'll go away and they'll win.

Welp, too bad annoying arses. Too bad.

I just do something else while I'm waiting. PO and Showdown both have ways to tell you when it's your turn to make a move.

  17. 1. Working on it. Hammering out the final details on personality now. We will indeed be varying our battle styles no doubt, the style for each leader is up to their discretion. Don't NEED someone to be skilled in mono, but is preferred. 2. Not sure yet. Most likely still looking, although should consult Dash about that. 3. We have that system kinda already in place. 4. Been in the woodworks for about 2 weeks. We started hammering it this actual thing around Monday. 5. Oh yes we will.
  18. Come one come all. Prepare yourselves for the challenge of a lifetime. 18 of the greatest new age leaders, all ready for you. Go big or go home. It's yer hoice.

Well my dad was chocking on some food at a stop light and my mom was pounding on his back to get it out. The guy on the outside dropped his phone (probably due to the angle he thought my mom was trying to kill my dad).

  21. A great teacher once taught me some eye-opening things. I never told my teacher this, but part of being a good student was the ability to self-sustain from those lessons, and learn to walk the perlious road few may travel.

  22. It will be...redemption...for something desired.
  23. Wonder how carcissistic one can get away with when writing an "About Me" while still being courteous. Because it's all about you though.

Just brag. If someone's reading it, it's because they WANT to know about you, after all.
