You're confusing the episodes and version. While it's true that V13 is coming out soon, it will contain episode 14 of the story.

    It's V13 and chapter 15, actually 👀 Chapter 14 was in V12.

Testing is usually the hardest work, especially when you test games, usually has shit ton of events,  and countless more combinations of those said events. but i'm curious how you guys test this though. Did you guys just play through the game and check everything manually or have some software to test the events automatically?

All the testing is done manually by simply playing through the game, and we'll know when we run into an error bc either an actual error pops up, the game crashes, you get stuck or you just kinda... walk into something that you can just kinda tell isn't right. The testers share screenshots and reports collected in a handful of channels, after which someone (usually Azery or Cass at this point) shares a hotfix download with the files in it that need to be replaced in order for the fix to take effect.

It's not the most efficient method to collect all the reports though, so for V13's public release we plan to have a bug tracking system in place (put together by yours truly after wrestling with google sheets for 23489273 hours) that makes it easier for us to track the tons of reports we'll likely be getting. It automatically sorts them into different categories/sheets, and we'll be making the sheet with all the bugs reported publicly visible so people can immediately see what's been reported, being worked on, fixed for a later patch or fixed in the current build. As for the hotfixes, like with previous releases we'll be releasing one or two patches for the base game of V13 to fix a bunch of problems at once people will inevitably run into that hadn't been caught during testing.

So everything is coming along nicely, but QQ what does the (tm) in that "soon(tm)" mean? I have a theory but I gotta be sure

Don't read into it too deep LOL, it's just a running gag that's been happening a lot this dev cycle since we can't promise any release windows. We made that mistake a couple of times before and then ended up not being able to meet that expectation due to a lot of stuff suddenly coming up.

The hype is real now. V13 is finished when it is finished and I hope the Rejuv team  don't get any pressure to work on the game when you don't have the time or motivation.

I have one question: What gamemaking program are you using to create pokemon Rejuv? Is RPG maker XP or something else?

We're using RPG Maker XP for the game, as Pokémon Essentials was made for that particular engine as well!

Quick question: with the migration to gen 8, will all pokemon learnsets also be updated, along with the new TM and TRs? Like for example Growlithe used to get Close Combat via egg move but in gen 8 it's TR only.

We're not removing any moves from learnpools, only adding moves that have been added to theirs in gen 8.

Hello, it will be the full V13 or just part of it that it will be released?

V13 will contain all of the main story content for this version, along with a pair of sidequests. V13.5 is a separate patch that will get released later down the line that will contain a bunch of additional sidequests that have been pushed back due to the workload for the main release simply becoming too much otherwise.

I will admit, I am gonna miss the old black and red too for most of Xen, but it fits where it is given (like Geara, Cassandra, etc).  Even the grunts look really great!  Are the Death Wings going to get a similar overhaul (Like with the gray and red), or are they going to stay the same?

The designs for the deathwings will likely also get a slight overhaul, but likely will be a simple color scheme adjustment + a few other small changes as their designs are already relatively unique as is. It's likely being kept for V13.5 though, due to that they don't really appear as often in the story in comparison to the grunts and admins, plus the workload is high enough as is.

Will the new release change any of the existing game? Or is it entirely new content?

Yes, there's updates to older areas both graphically and storywise to improve overall story flow and tying up loose ends that were previously unaddressed.

I don't wanna be rude but, why even add Gen 8 ?

I'm trying to understand what the goal is, if it's fixing / finishing the current game then it would not make sense.

If Gen 8 is added, I hope the new mons are worth the wait because, lets be honest, there are already enough mons and encounters start repeating a lot.

"Reworking old content" Why? Just finish the game and then do a bigger update fixing major problems.

Sorry for being straight to the point.

    1) Because... we want to? Gen 8 adds a lot of new mons that ppl from the dev team like a lot, so it's not like we're doing it because we have to. We want Gen 8 to be in, so we're adding in Gen 8. There doesn't need a better reason than that.

    2) Older content gets reworked and other QoL updates to keep the quality of the game consistent across the board, and not just have the quality get better further into the game. We still get a lot of new players even now, meaning that these players also have to go through the older content, and since we want the game to be as enjoyable as possible for any and all players, we want to make sure that new players don't have to worry about early game being a slog.

This really kind of sounds like you're being impatient in regards to the new version, but we're really just trying to make the game as enjoyable of an experience as possible. If we know something could use some work and there's time to fix it, then there's really no reason not to. We have no set deadlines for ourselves and we're not going to rush things in order to get the version pushed out sooner.

I just have one teensy tiny little question.

With gen 8's roster coming up, plus that wild area route plan you've got going on, are the early-to-mid game pokemon encounters gonna be changed/expanded significantly?

Thing is, a few of my favourite mons (and I'm a person who absolutely loves using their favourites) are locked until rather late in the game (Lapras, Aggron and Gardevoir are the three big ones), and given that I've already played V12 long and hard, I was thinking of hacking in my team of favourites for a challenge run (intense diff, set mode itemless), and 100% completion when V13 came out.

But seeing these news I'm having second thoughts; perhaps I should do it now in V12 and play V13 normally, or just forfeit it altogether? If I'll get a better available roster the choice will be easier.

There are quite a good couple of changes throughout the whole game in terms of encounters and event pokemon, though it's mostly additions of Gen 8 in various places. However, as far as I'm aware, Lapras/Aggron/Gardevoir have not changed obtaining methods, and will remain in the same place as they've been obtainable before.

The only pokemon that currently are publicly known to be moved are Rockruff, A-Grimer and Eevee, which will no longer be the reward for the Sheridan help center quest. I don't think I can disclose any further information though, but I wouldn't worry *too* much about drastic changes to encounters!

Given that it's a direct continuation of the previous Version's story, and past Versions did little to recap what came before on release, probably not. The Devs have highly recommended replaying the game to see all of what's been changed earlier on in previous updates though, so that's probably our best bet for getting back in the groove.

We do recommend starting a new file, but when V13 is out we plan to host a public project to get the Rejuv wiki fully up to date, including adding a story summary. The reason we are waiting for this is due to a lot of QoL changes in older content, which makes it so that writing a summary now would be wasted effort.

    i have a question tho

I was thinking about starting over to keep me occupied

Are there any changes made to old routes and Pokémon encounters

I just wanna know if it would be worth it to start over or nothing much has changed and you guys are solely focusing on going forward with the game and not making any changes

A good amount of routes and locations have received overhauls either graphically, storywise or both -- particularly the ones earlier on in the game (but there's some newer content that got revisions as well). With the addition of Gen 8 mons becoming obtainable (through encounters or sidequests), the map updates and some ~*~*Other Neat Stuff That Is Still A Surprise(TM)*~*~ I would personally suggest starting a new file once V13 is out so you get the full experience!
