  1. The victoria hate seems way overblown to me. I can't understand it and she's one of the more empathetic and down to earth characters in a cast full of loonies. She's more of a friend than rival,(think Bianca) but that doesn't make her "shit" or "useless." She provides a nice balance to some of the other personalities and is probably the most morally good character in the game. That might be partly why people don't take to her though.

The only hero character I'm not crazy about is Aya, who complains way too much and comes off as needlessly bitchy. I do enjoy the beef between her and Fern though. Oh and Heather too lol. You feel sorry for her but at the same time she's so abrasive it's maddening. Noel is kind of bland personality wise but that makes sense for an aspies normal type leader. Laura is my least favorite of the 3 sisters but she's alright.

And corey I found the hardest gym leader thus far in ep 17. Screw crobat sweeps lol.

Also Lin showed why she's boss in ep 16. Won't spoil but she was screwing around in that episode.

Personally I think Luna is actually a bad guy. Dark type specialist, loves to play pretend, goes around starting trouble and putting others in danger. We're not really sure what she's even doing at the moment.

  2. Incineroar is great as is.  Honestly I find the many 4 legged fan interpretations rather boring compared to the villain wrestler Tiger Mask homage we ended up getting.

Gen 4 is probably  my top due to Infernape and the other 2 having unique typings.  Gen 7 would be 2nd place.

    4 > 7 > 1 >3  > 2 > 5 > 6

3 has the better megas than 1 but megas don't factor much for me personally and gen 1's starters have better designs,  Swampert's line iMO is the ugliest water starter line.

6 is mainly as low as it is for having chestanught and quilladin, easily the worst designs to come out of starter families.

  3. My only gripe with bronzong is having to grind up bronzor for quite a while. Bronzor isn't bad for early game(he can tank just about anything really) but he takes a long time to KO stuff  so it's a bit of a slog. Not as bad as glameow's at least, level 33 isn't  bad. Payoff is better too.

  4. While I can't say I struggled with her every playthrough, there were a couple of times in previous episodes where she required some planning and tactics to score a win on. It's possible I was just REALLY well equipped this time(admittedly I was, had Nidoqueen, palossand, emolga,  grumpig along with Incineroar and sandslash) but even her levels seemed lower compared to what I remembered. Also while toxapex is a PITA usually, here it wasn't too bad and I felt like it was actually less of a threat than Tentacruel was before, oddly enough.  Maybe I just didn't give it enough time to take advantage of merciless but with its relatively low level you can take it out before it can do too much.

I'm not sure if her team changes benefit from her  doubles format. She was one of the easiest gyms so far.

  5. Sirius = keith silverstein

heather - Kath Soucie(I picture her sounding exactly like cooke from Lost Odyssey...fits her personality too).

    samson - Patrick seitz

    Solaris - troy baker

Radomus - liam o brien, he can nail rado's prose with ease.

  6. Rampardos and bastiodon are actually based off a figurative spear and shield respectively, reflected by their extreme stat distribution.

I don't know if a castle counts, but palossand has you covered there.

    Also klink line. and Magnemite.

  7. I thought that dual type pokemon got a smaller STAB boost for each type compared to mono-type ones, being only 25% instead of 50%, to balance out dual types getting STAB for an additional type. Turns out this was never the case.

I thought scraggy was a cosplayer at first.

Thought blacephalon was going to be fairy typing. OOH HOW WRONG I WAS.

  8. I always liked it. Ever since I first saw it in diamond version I thought was was super cool. It has an interesting type, design, and awesome basis as well(Japanese folk tale). And it's cry. I love its cry. TBH I kind of liked it as Lucien's ace more than Gallade. I know that's weird but now even moreso since Bronzong is like no one's ace and Lucien doesn't stand out too much otherwise.

Contrary to many I actually find a lot of objectmon appealing so Bronzong is right up my alley.

  9. So far fire in general has fared better than the other two typings, since we've gotten numerous fields to take advantage of such

Intimidate is a great ability, and litten has nice bulk. You can also breed it fake out relatively early  if you're willing to settle with a female since meowth is found early in the game. To me it seems best suited for the numerous doubles matches in the game.

  10. Salazzle might be be even better in reborn since she can utilize both poison and fire fields.

and yeah rimbombee is awesome, but something tells me shelly is going to use it. It looks like a shelly mon, that and araquanid.

  11. Kommo-o's learnset wasn't originally too impressive(nor will it be in ep 17), but USM looks to be buffing it pretty nicely as it gets a nice selection of new moves,

    Spoiler

like finally close combat which it oddly lacked.

I imagine we'll get a 17.2 or  something down the way which will update the movesets to USM's.

  12. Protip: take off the nostalgia goggles, the "newer pokemon are trash/worse than the classics" is in your head and bias wrought by your attachment to older ones. Liking newer pokemon isn't going to de-legitimatize your love for older ones or anything, so having such a negative attitude towards them only cheats you out of discovering some great pokemon. I had this attitude initially back when 4th gen first hit but then I started to like more and more of the pokemon as I played through diamond and now 4th gen is probably my 2nd  favorite generation.

Bewear is a great example. He's quite good and reliable, but you're so busy judging a book by its cover and attaching it to trite memes you'd never realize this because you didn't give it a chance.

Also your "newer pokemon get little thought in concept" is pure nonsense. How is rowlett's line "little thought?" Little thought went into the UBs or tapus? I know opinions and all but that complaint in particular seems unfounded and reeks of unfair bias.

  13. The lycanroc slam hurts. shame on you guys, he's rad. And he's only gonna get radder.

I realized i never picked my least favorites.

    5. golbat - annoying, ugly, all over the place, and just completely off putting. Only reason to put up with it is for the awesome crobat.

    Spr_6x_688.png

4 binacle - blegh, there is nothing appealing about this horrid little thing. It's really forgettable too.

    Spr_6x_310M.png

    3. mega-manetric - easily the worst-designed pokemon visually. It looks like a glitch and feels like GF had no idea where to take Manetric's design in building off it so they just went, make it look like "lightning hur' resulting in a clumsy abomination and embodying the worst design quirks of mega evolutions.

    Spr_5b_339.png

    2. barboach - the most boring pokemon of all time. It's amazing just how dull this thing is. Fish pokemon usually tend to be hit or miss but this guy is easily the least interesting one. The animal it's based off is sort of interesting but barboach himself sucks any charm off it and just becomes the duke of dullsville. Ugly is one thing, weak is another, but boring is worse than both. And man is barboach boring.

1: Diggersby - OMG. I hate this thing. So much. It looks like it just ate out of mudsdale's ass. Its nasty colors, its stupid buck teeth, it's dumb expression, it's disgusting cry...everything about this pokemon just makes me irrationally angry. The fact it evolves from the moderately cute bunnelby makes it such a slap in the face to get. I cannot stand Diggersby, no doubt my most disliked pokemon EVER.

  14. Sheryl looks good, but I have a weakness for red haired characters.

I really got to start getting in on these leagues but I'm SO indecisive on what to use. Hmm Usually with these I like to use pokemon I don't typically use. I'll try and have a team ready by next week, for this and redemption.
