  2. "Well, that escalated fast." Glenn told particularly no one when he saw Alunda and Zentilin effectively dealing with the Hero. He felt that certainly those two were something different from the rest of the group; they seemed particularly stronger and more experienced than the others. He remembered how Zentilin and Alunda dealt a lot of damage to the other bandits earlier, and he especially remembered how Alunda just vaporized that tree when attacking that enemy hiding in the trees. Glenn became inspired at their skill. "I hope to surpass them someday as I improve myself for the better." Glenn decided to take a chance and deal with one of those blasted archers looming at the front. Maybe one of the ways for him to become stronger was to conquer his fear of arrows, little by little, but for now, he decided that it would be best for him to not get hurt just yet. He approached the archer with determination, carrying his Elwind to deal with his opponent. Glenn moves to M7 and attacks the archer.

  4. Was wondering, why are there two birthday threads and why is this thread in Gaming General? Anyway, I've greeted you Baz on Discord and on the other thread, but Happy Birthday once more.
  5. Sorry for doubleposting, but I'd like to make some clarifications: - You can claim a role, but you must not show the PM I sent you to anyone. - If there is a tie in votes, the kill will be randomized between the ones tied. - A minimum of 2 posts is required per Day Phase.
  6. You're allowed to share it, but only on this thread, of course. That is, if you want to get targeted by the criminals though ~
  7. Well, if it's gonna be random, you'll have a 2/9 chance of getting a criminal.
  8. Day One The sun rose up in the sky and most, if not all of them, awoke from their sleep. Surprisingly, they had all gathered near the beach side, some of them probably hoping for an escape of the island. They checked their numbers and they realized one of them was missing. Just then, one of them screamed, as he pointed to a body sticking out of a bush, "Is that the one missing?" One of them immediately checked the body and told everyone that the person was dead. Checking the person's belongings yielded the knowledge that this person was named Twin Aero. Apparently, he was slit in the throat and died from blood loss. One of them cried, "What is happening here?" Another of the group told them, "I heard that there were criminals being transported in the cruise ship." "What?!" "Are you saying some of them slipped in here?" "What the?!" "Get me out of here!" People became hysterical after hearing that fact, and of course, as absurd as it was, it did sound true. "Unfortunately, we can't escape from this island just yet. There are strong currents surrounding this island at the moment. It may take a long while befroe the current changes." A rational one among the group told them. "Besides, if we do intend to escape, there are criminals among us. They can kill us on the trip. They probably haven't acted on the way here since it was unsafe yesterday." "Oh no!!!" "What do we do then?" "Who can we trust?" People became hysterical once more. "Calm down everyone!" The rational person answered the people. "We must find out who is a criminal and who is not amongst us. We must vote for a person and whoever gets the most votes will be eliminated. There's a high chance we'll accidentally eliminate someone totally innocent, but collateral damage is necessary if we want to survive." Everyone silently agreed. The criminals grinned at the back of the group; they wouldn't just get caught. Twin Aero is dead. He was an innocent Vigilante. [Day One has begun. It will end 48 hours from now or until most of you has voted. Discuss on who could be a criminal and cast your vote for the day or abstain if you don't want to vote yet. For ye innocent people, don't worry about messing up the vote on Day 1; it is pretty luck-based for Day One after all to catch a criminal.] For this Day, I will be requiring 5 out of the 9 of you left to cast a vote. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Players of Stranded: A Mafia Game - S. 9. "A miss? How come? Wind magic is supposed to be the most accurate, right?" Glenn muttered to himself. He was a bit disappointed in missing that hit that would seal the fighter's fate. "I suppose I need to improve this accuracy of mine if I am really intending to pursue becoming one of the esteemed Archsages in the future." Glenn was delighted when Sheena, the dancer, approached him and gave him a dance to rejuvenate his spirits. He gave her a warm thanks as she had given him a chance for redemption. "This time, I shall not miss. I will victor over the enemy." Glenn told himself, his expression hopeful and determined. Glenn stays in the same spot and uses Elwind to attack the fighter once more.
  10. Er... the game has started already. You'll have to wait for the next round. Thanks.

  14. Night Zero Year 1986, Atlantic Ocean The Cruise Ship Blackwater sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, carrying 500 passengers in its vast expanses. It was on the midpoint of its journey from England to New York. Its journey was greatly ordinary; there were no storms in its route nor were there any threats such as pirates which might threaten the ship. It was on the 3rd night of its journey, its passengers were enjoying the trip very well; some were gambling in the casino while others danced in the ballroom. The entire crew of the ship was also lazing about, believing that it wouldn't be that bad to leave their work stations for a bit of time. That was when disaster happened. Without anyone to watch its course, the ship bumped smack into a drifting iceberg, shaking the ship tremendously. The crew immediately checked the bottom of the ship for any damages, and there they saw large holes created by the collision, which allowed water to seep in large levels. Knowing that this was irreparable, the crew and staff immediately announced to the ship that the people should head to the lifeboat area and escape the ship before it sinks into the deep blue. With the immediate action, all of the passengers were able to board on the lifeboats, and most of these lifeboats were found easily by the rescue party. Two lifeboats, carrying 10 people in total, were led astray, however. They were brought into an uninhabited island at the dead of night. They docked into the island and most began to seek some place of shelter as they all decided that it was best to stay there for a bit of time before taking another course of action. The group separated as each selected a spot for himself/herself. Two of the passengers went away together and when they were away from earshot, one of them snickered and whispered to the companion, "These people are in for a big surprise. They don't know that there are criminals that slipped among them. We shall begin enacting the elimination of these fools, picking them off one by one, a person per night until they are outnumbered.. We do need better chances of survival after all." The partner of the criminal took the gun stashed in his pocket, while his partner took the bullets they had stored. The innocent people were gonna be in a load of pain. [Night Zero has begun. It will end 24 hours from now or until everybody sends their action. 15. Sign-ups for Stranded: A Mafia Game are still open. For more details, check this thread out:

It's not hard to play at all even if you have no experience. I'll be guiding you along the way. It will be fun ~

  16. Happy Birthday, Hongaar! Hope you have a great day! Thank you also for the times when you've given me help such as with the Shiny Charm and of course, Wet Moat. I'm truly grateful!
  17. 5 ;_; I'll be waiting a bit more. If no one comes in like 12 hours, I'll just lower the limit to 10 and begin the game. It's not that hard to play actually. I'll be guiding the players along the way with what they must do.
  18. Finished Danganronpa's Anime version earlier. It was quite enjoyable with its rather twisted plot, but it was still quite sad though with all those deaths and I especially got sad for Maizono, Fujisaki, and Ishimaru. Still it was real fun and I'm interested in trying out the game sometime.

So, at that time, 2:30 AM, it was already sunrise? How early....

Well, the honor roll system used to be full academics for most of the year levels while it only was split to the deportment/extracurricular/academics grouping for the final 2 years of elementary and final year of high school. For the record, high school in the Philippines used to be strictly 4 years (no middle school/ junior high school and senior high school for that matter). Our country only added 11th Grade and 12th Grade last school year (shocking, I know), but it's still different from other countries since junior high is 7th Grade to 10th Grade while senior high is 11th Grade to 12th Grade.

Aside from that drastic chance to the school system, the honor roll system became like I told you, as mandated by the Department of Education, 70% academics/grades, 20% extracurricular activities, and 10% deportment/behavior. This means that even if you're the one who has the highest grade in the year, you won't be the Top 1 if you don't have enough extracurricular points (points are assigned for every extracurricular activity you participate in, decided by each school's board) and if your behavior/deportment in school isn't good as well. This now goes for all years in high school, but I'm not updated on whether this is present in elementary or in other schools, however.

Academic Ranking is important for various matters. First and foremost, the Top Three in every level in our school gets a discount from tuition. The Top 1 gets 100% free tuition, the Top 2 gets 50%, and the Top 3 gets 25%, and considering that tuition in my school is now at 50,000 pesos (it used to be around 25,000 years ago, however, inflation every year causes this tuition to rise). Second, ranking is often times helpful for jobs since companies often give higher priorities to those who had higher grades in school (sad reality, I know). As for the other reasons, they're mostly personal, such as respect from peers, satisfaction of parent's expectations, and other reasons you can think off.

And connecting it to myself, I had to participate in Debate and Scrabble for the sake of getting points for extracurricular activities. Sure, I enjoy both as I've been playing Scrabble for 10 years, I think, while I've only joined Debate this summer, but it's kind of fun. Still, I need to participate in both and other activities on campus such as quiz bowls for the sake of keeping my rank. Believe it or not, I've managed to pull off getting the Top 1 rank since 1st grade, and despite me not exactly 'wanting' it, I had to keep it up for a lot of reasons (I'll tell you if you ask). Now, that I'm entering 10th grade in 12 days, I have to do well since 10th grade is the official last year for junior high and I can't just break my record, can I? So, even if it's exhausting, I try to balance academics and personal entertainment, at least until I graduate from school.

No, sunrise is still around 4:30 in summer. But civil twilight (ie. when sun is just bellow the horizon and it's no longer pitch black outside) is around 3 'o' clock. Birds get up around this time.

And 50k Pesos is certainly a lot if the average income is 264k. It imagine it must be be difficult for most families to afford education, since the average family has 3 kids?

And it's certainly a fascinating system you have. You make it sound as if everyone knows their personal ranking in the school? Over here we don't really have academic rankings, as grades are private. It's generally inappropriate to ask others about their grades, unless you're close friends with them, but even then, people seldom ask. Your final average through which you apply to university is purely based on your grades. We naturally get grades for both exams and how well we do in class, but a lot of people don't actually bother to participate much in class since if they are good at a subject, and just tend to play games or surf the internet, though it's generally required to participate actively in class to get a top grade, I've seen people get the highest grade with minimal participation in class since the teacher knows the student knows the subject and could answer any given question if asked, were they to participate in class and they do well on assignments.

Also due to regular and higher education being free, children aren't normally expected to get high grades by their parents, since most people know what they want to do in the future, and just strive to get a good enough grade to enter said education. Whether this is good or bad I'm not entirely certain. Though I do certainly admire how dedicated students are in China and Japan, from what I've read despite how strict their system is.

And you say that there was another reason besides the monetary incentive for you to do well in school? I'd love to know, if you're comfortable with sharing it.

I will PM it due to its length and I'd prefer to keep it private between us two.

  19. The criminal kill visit is not included in what the tracker sees. Only who they visit for their specific role.
  20. Okay..... Another one of this party falls to some lowly bandit. Glenn sighs as he sees Kayde, seemingly the most reckless of the group fall down. This makes it the third time someone fell, right? Now, I'm wondering if these people are brave or simply idiots. There is a fine line after all between the two. I just hope they wouldn't be the reason for this whole mission to fail. Glenn observes the other members of the group. He glances at Karlos, the knight and remarks, "You seem to be one good at leading people as you have been encouraging this party from the beginning. Do you have some experience being a leader of a troop or something?" He also looks at Gaillardia and Luther. He believes that the former is someone responsible enough while the latter seems to be non-tolerant to pain as he has been asking for someone to remove the arrow. None of us here are healers except for you. We can't remove the arrow, you know, lest you want to risk being harmed... Glenn decides to follow the knight's lead. He moves to the knight's former position, preparing his Elwind for an attack to one of those bandits hidden in the trees. Glenn equips Elwind and moves to L10. He attacks the enemy at N10.
  21. Since we still lack 5 people, I will be extending Sign-ups for another 48 hours. I hope to see more applicants in this time period.
  22. Quick update: Some changes have been applied to the roles and player naximum of Stranded: A Mafia Game. 5 more players to go. Check it out at

Roles may potentially be assigned around 12 hours from now and Night Zero will begin soon afterwards.

      When it will be held?

I can participate in it if it helds on after some days....

It will begin once the roster of 15 is accomplished and roles are distributed by me. It will last for at least a week until a side wins (refer to win conditions). Don't worry; you don't need to be active for long hours. As long as you do your role in both Day and Night phase, you'll be fine. Each phase lasts at least 24 hours with Day Phase having 48 hours and Night having 24 (extensions may be given however), so you can pop in any time to accomplish your role.
