If I had a choice? Probably Dragonair, actually. Dragonair are beautiful and awesome, and I just really like the idea of being a dragon-type since dragons were totally my thing when I was little. I grew up playing the old Spyro games and when I first played Pokemon, half my team was Dragon I spent a ton of time drawing dragons, too. So that's definitely a concept that appeals to me. Another good thing about it is that I would be rare enough so that nobody could just come along and catch me whenever they feel like it, but also that if I did decide to pursue a lifetime of battling I could evolve into the badass Dragonite and wreck everybody. :3

You can make it so we all reproduce by spores? Sounds awesome, but I'm not sure how comfortable I am with an exact genetic clone of myself running around, being an asshole to everyone.

You can buy Cyndaquil later though. I guess it really all depends on whether you're willing to wait.

There's a house in the Peridot Ward, if you go in it a fisherman will ask you if you're looking for something. Say yes, and you'll battle. Beat him and he'll let you use his reserve of fresh water in the back, which can be fished in for Goldeen.

I read it, relatively recently. Still haven't finished it though, I think I'm still only on like Act 2 or something, where Terezi and Dave are my favorite characters <3 They're totally awesome and funny, unlike sad-sack me who would totally break apart if the fate of the universe depended on how well I played the game while simultaneously getting pestered by a bunch of egotistical aliens. John and Nepeta are both really cool too.
