Forgetting that Freeze-Dry can OHKO a Gyarados - Pretty Funny

    For everything else, there's masterball.

  2. 3/4 she'll flip appearing town. (1/4 she flips appearing Loudmouth, which I would find funny) We'll know tomorrow for sure, if that's indeed the case.
  3. That seems a bit harsh. Imagine ending the game so early because of such a technicality. it's a joke not a dick don't take it so hard
  4. Everyone is placing a temporary vote on someone else. Drak has already voted on 4 different people. I have no idea what everyone is thinking, and am not sure I want to know. Newsflash: 2 votes = risk. What a time to be alive
  5. That's because Normal never wins.
  6. You're all going to be put into the Ice / Rock / Electric Nation.
  7. I would love to see an alignment-identifying reaction from Bean @Psychic Bean Sheep have you nothing touche in your defense?
  8. @Mr. Knightly It's typical of @Lord Drakyle to post walls of text when he's emotionally charged. As for the aggressive approach, it's odd that he went for Bean, but I can understand it if he's just annoyed Bean's behavior never changes in the series of games he's played. I would like to remind both of you, that in each game you're playing a character. Do not let a quarrel inside a game follow you in other games or interactions. That said, If information like this appears "Two people tried to visit PersonX", the most likely interpretation is that at least one of them was prohibited from completing their action. Therefore, roleblocking and jail are equally likely. It seems you, Drak, were roleblocked, since Candy managed to visit Corso. Therefore we could check the role-list for characters resembling a jailor, a paranoid doctor, or a drunk, as they all have roleblocking abilities. If you have info about those characters from outside sources, it's cool to bring it here, yet that is no guarantee of what DA has in store for the game. As for the roles, I am pretty sure there are some 3rd parties. We could have a Cthulhu (given how crazy the setup is on the first place), an Old Maid (as there seem to be some specific female-names on the list), and Gamblers (given we have characters from the lore that do gamble). What I don't expect from a closed setup is mafia roles that appear town in investigative results and vice versa. At this point, all possible information provided is a plus. We have no idea what Numbered Mafia members do, and no other way to deduce them.
  9. @Mr. Knightly No pun intended. I was trying to keep the post serious in order for nobody to be offended because we were discussing about important matters. Quoting L'Host from p8 "The only roles who dont visit are Sayaka, Byakuya, Yasuhiro, Hifumi, Makoto, Kiyotaka, Leon, Mukuro and Chihiro." So we do have 9 visiting roles, meaning 8 alive, meaning all 5 (Jace, Lykos, Nick, Cass, Nicki) can be town. Thus the allegation that at least 1 is mafia based on their ability to visit, seems to be incorrect.
  10. @Mr. Knightly We bearly introduced ourselves to each other, and we're already fighting. I must remember my manners. @andracass "A logical fallacy would be considering my statement to be a direct accusation" It is turning the focal point towards 3 specific people, me included. However, the focus of the answer was more on the errors considering the numbers of the suspects, and the fact that we cannot take for granted your role is town. "I don't think you understand exactly how this trap works" Anyone not receiving a message that hinted towards that would assume they were not targeted for a roleblock, thus defeating the purpose of the trap. As a person who's been actively asking about such things in every single game, I think I could get around it even with a non-visiting role (like here) "How do you know it's a fake claim? You're certainly correct that this isn't proven, but nothing that you're saying is proven either." Never said it is 100% a fake claim. I said it's probable that it's a fake claim. If you wish for me to elaborate on that, I'd have to repeat all that's been discussed about it (how it is that specific power-role claim, how she did take her time about it, some meta information about how she usually behaves etc). On the contrary, you took it at face value that her claim is genuine, thus jumping at the conclusion that at least 1/3 of the people you mentioned are mafia. I could simply retort with "what if Nicki is mafia and all of this was a waste?" or with "what if you are mafia, and are trying to project on one of us?" "I mean, I know if my role is town or not. You're free to debate it. It doesn't change the fact that at least one of us (I'll add a bit of personal risk by throwing myself into this too) is mafia." and "What I'm doing is proposing a system that's a little bit more rational." As you must have noticed, I didn't exclude myself from the list of the 5 people (suspects to you). Neither did I make a statement about whether this improves or decreases my chances of survival. It was all about the numbers being right. So, if Alter Ego is a visiting role, it's not necessary that 1 of us 5 is mafia. I understand your point about establishing a more solid scumhunting system, but this one seemed to rush towards a conclusion that needed a lot of assumptions to be correct beforehand. Granted, my initial reason on voting for Nicki is not the most reasonable (and I've already commented on that on the very same post) yet her behavior seems scummier than what I've noticed of the others. edit: Adding colours because a lot of monocolour text is tiring for the eyes. I hope you like pastel(?) blue. Also added a final sentence, in case you missed it.
  11. "So far, three people (Jace, Lykos, and Nick) have all stated whether or not they were roleblocked, but merely by answering the question they've revealed that they have a role that is blockable. There are a total of 8 such roles: Kyoko, Mondo, Sakura, Aoi, Toko, Junko, Mono, and Celestia. Aoi is Alistair; Mondo is Nicki; I'm one of the others. That leaves five roles for the other three people- but only two of the remaining roles are Town. One of the three people who weren't roleblocked are definitely mafia." That's a logical fallacy. Any role could be attempted to be roleblocked. However, even going by your logic, your role is not necessarily town. You just claim it is. Nicki claims to be Mondo (vigilante). It's not proven. And it's most probably a fake claim. So it would be 5 people (Jace, Lykos, Nick, Andracass and Nicki) who would claim to have roleblock-able roles. The roles that can visit, and thus can be roleblocked are 9, not 8 (according to L'Belle Alter Ego's choice counts as a visit) So we have 8 roles alive. 3 visiting roles are mafia, so statistically speaking, all 5 of us could be town. Yet, the rush to accuse makes me think that's not really the case now. There's probably another one in that list, yet it's too early to tell. @Walpurgis I would like your thoughts on the matter.
  12. Just to clarify this. When I first asked Venus if he has no problems with being lynched, I was just asking whether he'd claim jester or not. I wasn't offering to hang him.
  13. People who have yet to vote: Lykos, Corso, Andra, Caimie, Eviora, Choke Boy, Paul, Lia, Hupurr @Venus make huuhu genka, not war.
  14. The difference is in information. If we lynch Nicki, we will instantly know what she is, and thus we can select our night actions with better confidence in what's going on, as we'll know (or at least have a good idea) of what the alignment of each person voting for her or for Knightly is. Theoretically speaking, an ultra-instinct Vig doesn't even need to shoot Knightly during the night and try to get another maf, even if eliminating the jester would be their safer bet. I'll second @andracass's question. I wasn't roleblocked, meaning the doctor-roleblocker wasn't on me. It's good to know who was, since now we don't know if it was Alistair or the Monokuma the one on Jace. Judging by Alistair's usual playstyle, he wouldn't protect the [protagonist], given mafia already expect that, but would try to find out the next most probable target and go for them. If I can make a statistical guess, one of the following should have been roleblocked/protected: @LykosHand, @Walpurgis or he really went for Jace, and someone else was blocked by Monokuma.
  15. @Caimie Not sure about that. Statistically speaking, mafia enter in the middle of bandwagons. As you said, the appear suspicious when they start one. We're still waiting on 10 people to vote. Maybe after half of the remaining ones have voted, we'll be able to make a more informed opinion on the matter. What's confusing me howerver is that @Eviora claims to find Nicki's behavior scummy but she doesn't yet vote for her. Are you waiting for more solid evidence, Evi? As for compiled info, here's the voting total thus far.
  16. There isn't much new to add. Venus and her are having their personal back-and-forth almost seeming like spam, but I believe she is the one to fuel the fire for Venus's claims, in other words manipulating him on the grounds of their relationship to seem like she's getting town cred from her contributions, whilst not actually providing anything. She didn't award the vote to Knightly straight away, but ultimately seemed to be convinced by his plea to be given the win. I am not sure how to interpret that, but on it's own it's not indicative of anything. Normally that would not be enough for me to vote-for-lynch, but she appears to be actively trying to change her playstyle, which raises some (if not red) yellow flags. In previous games in which she was mafia or 3rd-party, she kept interaction to a minimum. She was posting just as much as what would avoid a warning, and giving votes seemingly randomly. When she was town, she was posting a bit more, yet again not too much, because as a person she is not confident on her abilities to read others's minds and thus alignment. Only when she's absolutely convinced someone is scum does she push. Here, she is going for the ultra-active approach, which in my opinion is an active effort to convince she's town, thus warranting my vote on grounds of suspicion. tl;dr the spam itself is not suspicious, but when it's coming from a person that usually barely says anything, it deserves more attention As for the statement about earning the win and receiving it on a silver platter, I'll refer everyone to my previous post regarding the vigilante. Had I been the Jester, I would try to make it seem as if I was scum and "accidentally" slipped. I would make town feel like they've caught me. I would probably have focused on Eviora who seems to be on my throat since D1, and thus got a win this way. Maybe wait till D2 before I make my move.
  17. Let's check the previous pages once more. We might have missed something. @Caimie ToS is way too fast paced compared to here. The only way you'd soft-claim as jester would be as mafia to make town avoid dealing with you, and that in the case of a vig not being able to shoot you or jailor wasting a night on you. Here, I don't know why Knightly did it. He was trying to appeal to emotion to get an easy win, but that's Lykos's strategy and we've been fooled one too many times by that in the past. Losing someone whose role is essentially to be Sosobean is not bad per se. @Paul25 Knightly will use everything possible to protect his alignment when mafia. He will fake-claim about his role, the number of people alive in his alignment, and everything else he can think of. He's been the sacrificial goat before. However here, it makes no sense to do so on D1. It's more likely he is indeed the Jester, yet he gambled that we'd be complacent and let him have his way so easily, since later on it will become harder to have town co-operate on such a goal. As Dive has said, we shouldn't be complacent. Let the Vig load their gun. Venus tends to switch his vote around quite often. So his early vote on Knightly doesn't really mean anything to me. 18. @Eviora There's no contradiction in my comment. I was explaining the situation, which happens to have two sides. In simpler terms I said "We don't need to lynch him. The Vigilante will kill him anyway". --> Meaning, Knightly will never see D2 either way. If nothing else, I reminded the vigilante that they can kill Knightly during the night, without any drawback. However it appears that @andracass @Mr. Knightly and @Mazino Divergent decided to interpret that comment as pure support for the Jester lynch. Yet, I never casted a vote. As for the comment on "In the later stages, the Jester is more likely to side with mafia". As townfolk diminish, the need to lynch mafia (not 3rd party) becomes progressively greater. So, in case of a LyLo, all mafia members will vote for the Jester, the jester himself will notice and help them in their cause. It's simple.
  19. @Eviora if we don't lynch Knightly today, the vigilante has no reason not to kill him during the night, as it's more probable he'll side with mafia when the game reaches the later stages. Their ability is to take the attention away from scum, focus it on himself and get lynched. Since there is no drawback for town from lynching him, I say we keep our options open. Not everyone has posted yet, but it's unlikely we have something solid. If we do, we follow that. If not, then it's safer to remove the jester than mindlessly lynch someone who could have been town, and thus useful in the future.
  20. @Mr. Knightly thanks to you I got to notice the phase was changed. This is a terrible start. Alistair is a great player and he also happened to be a power role. For now we'll have to wait. Everyone will have to post at least twice, so we'll have material to work with. If the first day passes without significant progress, we can push specific people, based on their comments. @Venus do you happen to be the Jester? Would you mind being lynched during the day?
  21. I disagree with Drakyle. It's a text roleplaying game. If you're not committed to reading a lot and trying to read between the lines, then you won't really enjoy your time here. As with many other games, when it's your first time playing it will appear like a lot of work to learn the rules and common methods used, in order to adapt to the playstyle. As with any other RPG, the beginning might seem hard. You don't need to read everything straight away, anyway. It's good to have such articles as a place where people can return and possibly get new ideas on how to play their roles or how to read others better. tl;dr it's a great start
  22. I do die early a lot these days, be it N1 or N2. Yet, I don't think people are under such a false impression. They just don't like dealing with me. @Eviora I believe my mention of the office is obvious to be flavor. As you said, all the mayor gets is a double vote. As for your question "the mayor should be someone who is especially equipped to discern truth from lies. Do you feel you fit that description, and, if so, why?" I have no obligation to answer it. It matters not what I think of myself. If others believe me to be fit for the job, then I'll try to prove them right, at the best of my capabilities. If you wish to imply that you are superior in reading people, then by all means best of luck in your campaign. Even if you don't get the position of mayor, you can still assist town with your findings and deductions, given of course that is your alignment.
  23. @EvioraIs it not too early to make accusations based on wordplay? It would indeed be impossible at this stage for me to provide a surefire plan to eliminate our (I hope common) opponent. Yet, as every mayor knows, once you receive the office, things are different than what you expected. Thus you are tasked first with organization and then with execution. If what you try to ask is whether I can make the best use of my people's abilities in pursuit of a town-win, I can only promise I will try.
