  1. The kill on Bazaro looks like a frame. There is absolutely no reason to eliminate him, unless the vamp wanted to shift suspicion onto the ones who voted (or actively pushed) against him. In other news, I got merchant'd. I suppose they thought I wouldn't be targeted, or that I would be protected, so they wanted to steal that from moi. The good news is that we know all 3 dead people's roles. We know 2/3's alignment as well. If the Gravedigger saw Nano's faction, they could inform us if he were a wolf or a vampikaze.
  2. Perhaps I worded it poorly. Let me rephraze what I said: I was quick to explain that a "self-vote" or a "random unsubstantiated vote" is an indirect vote against the already highest-voted person, because all it does is increase the total, meet the minimum, and facilitate a lynch. A direct vote (like mine) carries the burden of the results. If I mess up, I am responsible. An indirect vote claims innocence, and no such burden. Yet, it provides the same results. I still believe that a lynch is the town's biggest weapon. There are still cases in which your bluff could be used by an evil faction to gain credibility. And the way you responded right after Nano revealed he was an idiot the assassin, seemed rushed. You used circumstantial data to convince people of your town-alignment, following an obvious bluff. It was needless, and to me, it looked like a rushed attempt to salvage a failed effort to appear towny, by covering it with a 2nd one. You excluded many possibilities and kept the one that fits the best, which is a common modicum for evil roles. For these reasons, I put a vote on you, and am keeping it still. If you feel "used" because I'm pressuring other people (and subsequently suspecting them) based on your situation, I apologise. Right now, the vote tally is at 9 votes in total. So you won't die anyway. In a lighter tone... B-Baka! To be frank, if anyone's being mean here, that's probably me.
  3. @Bazaro How else do I get to steal the spotlight by unvoting you minutes before the phase change? There is a difference. The game requires an absolute minimum of votes for a lynch to happen. By voting you directly, I am "signing" with my vote, so to speak. I am increasing the total vote count, and I target my vote. If I were to vote for myself, or randomly, I would be enabling the lynch, as no difference is made for the highest voted person. The total vote count increases, but I appear not to blame. In other words, it's an indirect vote towards the highest voted, here You. That's what I want to make clear to everyone, especially the 2 that voted for themselves.
  4. Wait. The current votes are: ~ VOTES ~ Amber (1) : Quillish Bazaro (4) : Newt, (Astra), (Yahen1), (Crimson1), (Lykos1), Alaris, Nick, Jace Lykos (1) : Alistair Nicki (1) : Crimson2 Seal (1) : Seal Jason (1) : Jason Right now, 9 people want to lynch someone. If 1 more votes, then the most voted person gets killed. If they don't, then nobody gets lynched. Seal and Jason voted for themselves. That doesn't change anything against others, but it almost ensures that a lynch will happen. This means that they are content with the Bazaro lynch, as they are indirectly supporting it. Care to elaborate more on your actions @Jason Grace and @Seal ?
  5. To avoid going in circles here, let's wait for the remaining players to voice their opinion. ~10 people haven't said a word yet.
  6. 6 people have voted against Baz. Are they all werewolves? Is Baz somehow confirmed to be a Silver Knight? Your suggestions make a lot of assumptions, and I'm leaning towards a hard scumread on you. That, adding the fact you're the only person Baz claimed he "townreads 100%" In absence of a better target, I am content with reducing the number of possible threats. If it's not for tonight, it can be for the consecutive ones. There are roles that can protect us from the singular kill this night. (Healer, Courtesan, Town Watch (kinda), random Drunkard, the real Slim Shady Vampire Slayer) Btw, please avoid multiposting when you can fit all of your points in a single comment. That's for those who have shitty internet, like moi Nano does have a reputation of being trigger-happy, doesn't he? The Gravedigger can help us identify his alignment, if they so much wish to do so. Are roles not randomly distributed? The issue here is why you immediately jumped into the conclusion that Nano is a WW. You are no threat to them. Or at least, your initial role-claim wasn't. So, why would Nano attack someone who poses no threat to them? One scenario is that you are a WW, and want to avoid the Vamp attacks, which is reasonable, and possible.
  7. @Yahen I do not understand your reasoning. If Bazaro's a wolf, then he's a threat to town and thus ought to be eliminated. If we do not have a better lead, this is our best choice. You were "convinced" very easily. Whom do you suggest we vote instead?
  8. Nano, this was a waste. IF1: Bazaro is town, then their bluff would deter the vamps from attacking, ensuring that they live through N1. The wolves would have no reason to mess with him, so he'd be safe. His real role would become useful, if applicable. It just ensures (as a bluff) that he can't kill via visits by the evil teams. Now, all factions know he lied, and thus appears the scummiest. By extention, his reads on townlean/scumlean become similar to his own. He'd better have a plausible excuse, but I doubt it will save him. It's D1, town needs to lynch to get rid of the two opposing factions, and we have no other target. IF2: Bazaro is vampire, then claiming vampire slayer makes no sense. IF3: Bazaro is a wolf, then his claims and reasoning is similar to the 1st case. Although with 1 faction fewer to worry about. @Bazaro Nano does NOT need to be a wolf. His role dictates that a false guess kills him. He guessed wrong. So he died. This sudden appeal to have helped town paints you (in my eyes) more as wolf than before. [Eliminate] Bazaro
  9. Had Cass been a vamp, they'd share a chat. The highlighted part also means that the vamp-kill does not exclude 2 vamps from already working together, because NA are independent of the vamp-kill.
  10. @sailboat@Hypurr Does the Assassin post their guess in the thread, or do they send it to you via DM / PM?
  11. True. Bok could have been randomly blocked. Just in case they haven't, by revealing who else was witched, we might be showing to the scums some of our good weapons. In other words, painting targets over them. We don't need people roleclaiming just yet, unless of course someone has some good evidence.
  12. They can guess someone's role. If they get it right, the person dies. If they get it wrong, the coyote dies. Here it's called "Assassin", but we usually refer to it as a coyote. @Nano4 Dudeyo, see "Coyote" above.
  13. They must be. If the witch didn't know they found a roleblocker, now they do. I'll advise against revealing themselves now, because there's a Coyote role in the game, and we don't know their faction. @Nano4 What do you mean "my own info"? Do you claim to have visited Bok?
  14. Cass was definitely attacked twice. This means that the day-post might be a little more informative. It shows us that the wolves have higher priority than the vampires, as she was finished by a vampire.
  15. @wcv Ah, I've heard of "Pikablu" but I always thought they were referring to a glitch in GS. The kid whose "uncle's best friend who works in Nintendo" was apparently everywhere. @Maqqy @J-Awesome_One I'd like to remind you that Nintendo has been trademarking many things since RBY. Another trademark doesn't mean anything regarding to spoilers for future games. They won't be using all of them. Most of the time it's about protecting their product. If nothing else, they can be using those to create more hype for their games.
  16. I have never seen that argument about Marill. It's nonesense to think Marill is an evolution of Pikachu, and that's beside the point. It's also nonesense to claim antiquity equals validity. "Pikaclones" is a term dubbed by the fanbase because of similarities, in games and anime. Not the creators. Anything that resembles or reminds people of Pikachu, may be dubbed as one. Mimikyu cannot be for similar reason(S) because nobody would ever think of it as part of Pikachu's evolutionary line. The connection "in a meaningful way" could be found in Mimikyu's pokedex entries. Since there have been more connections presented both here and elsewhere, at least let's avoid the strawmanning. The only sensible argument against those two being pika-clones is that they aren't Electric-type. /debate From the titles of the new games, one could speculate that they'd research Offense and Defense, but that seems odd. In previous generations not all professors were contributing to gameplay, so it's not necessary that the new one(s) do. Secondly, we've already searched Attacks in the very previous gen, with Z-moves being the centre of attention. Were the new ones targeted at BOTH attack and defense, there would be serious changes in the gameplay. So far we've seen Gen1: Pokemon Gen2: Eggs / Natures Gen3: Habitats Gen4: Evolution Gen5: Origins Gen6: Evolution Gen7: Attacks Let's hope they have something more substantial than that. The bug in the "leak trailer" looks horrendous. It's a good design, pointing towards being official. The wings don't bother me. Let's just hope it's not a basic design taken from another game, and tweaked to look like a pokemon.
  17. @Swampellow Azu has been considered an equivalent to the pikachu line (or "pikaclone") first because of its status as the pokemon the prof presents to the player in the starting sequence, secondly because of the relationship in the anime (although I don't remember that accurately). Besides that, I don't see any reason not to inlcude Mimikyu to the list, since pikaclones are supposedly there to fill the gap the lack of a pikachu leaves. The concept of the pokemon is to resemble Pikachu in order to be loved. The rest are simply electric rodents. The lack of an electric type is the only plausible excuse for the 2 above not to be considered part of the group, albeit having much closer ties to Pikachu than the rest. As for the starting town, I'm well aware of the trailer However, I have noticed 2 towns with such characteristics. One in the southernmost part and another northwest of poke-London. That's why I award the possibility of that not being the starting town, although I do believe it's very improbable. For the most part I agree with you on the eeveelutions. Usually they come in pairs, excluding the 1st generation in which we received the first 3. And then Sylveon was alone. Sure it was along with the introduction of the Fairy type, but we could have received another one. Now, I'm actually expecting a Steel or Dragon one, not to "balance" the eevees. That hasn't been an objective ever since the first ones were introduced. At least it has never been circular. As I said above, if the lore allows it, I'd welcome a Dragon and/or Steel type eevee. I don't see the Poison one coming, but sth like 'Toxeon' would be fun if done properly.
  18. I'm not sure that the southest part of the map is actually the starting town. There are other places it can be. Of course it would be silly for the whole journey to be a simple linear path to the north. And side-tracking to various villages left and right doesn't deviate from that. I'm expecting a route similar to what J-Alright-One said, although a lot more non-linear with backtracking and travelling to Ireland, the Isle of Man, or the Fearow Islands. IF the actual battle is about machines VS local [celtic] lore THEN the Steel and Dragon Eeveelutions might make sense Otherwise a Scottish Fighting Eevee will do just fine.
  19. @Candy I have to challenge the second definition's authenticity, because "theory" is a scientific term. No matter what the common usage may be, it's not right, yet it's still included in dictionaries, usually as a 2nd or complementary definition. ...and Imperialism. Meaning Sobble is going to... gobble 25% of the pokemon world. And then be sad about it. Sherlock! I think I've cracked the case. Tea's on me! ~ ~ ~ I'd like to cast more attention towards what the game titles promise us. There has been word of "armor" and "attacks". How would such be implemented? Would special pokemon receive them, similarly to how megas were distributed? What's going to become of alolan forms? How does one get them in the UK? Will there be imported pokemon, or should all possible ones hold specific items? What happens if I want an A-Vulpix? Do I make a K-Vulpix, then evolve it magically, then breed it? Will Ash-Greninja be a thing? Can we kill it? Please? Do we get a new pika-clone? What do you expect of the new pika-clone? Will it be powerful like Azumarill and Mimikyu, situational like Togedemaru or crappy like Minun? If we indeed walk the path of pokemon-football... ... which kind of pokemon will be the new Voltorb that we accidentally kick and enter a wild battle with? Surprisingly, I've heard this multiple times during my recent exams, albeit with much more apparent frustration and hidden tears.
  20. It looks like a stretch to fit a narrative, if I'm being honest. If this was an actual joke by a company that's aiming its games at 10-year-old, I'd be frightened. It's the same people who never showed Jynx again because of possible relation to blackface. No you didn't, but it's one thing that seems to be a correct link among them. So I saw fit to add it. Completely agree. As I said, saying it's prehistoric (or hinting at a close relative) is making it quite vast a category, but it's certainly not breaking the rules there. As for each gen having a theme with the starters, I suppose you mean from gen4 onwards. That's probably when they started the connections. Alola seems to be adding to the Kalos's RPG them with Guardian (Chesnaught), Mage (Delphox), Ninja (Greninja), Bard (Primarina), Archer (Decidueye), Warrior/Wrestler (Incineroar). I like your idea of different positions in the same team. I'm eager to wait and see what they'll come up with. Too many. I didn't say the new horse would be the same as Ponyta. I said that it will be quite hard to eliminate all possible links between them, so that it won't look like a rehash of the same idea. They already deviated with Fennekin (which is close enough, as you correctly observed, and which I applaud them for doing), and they've messed up with Cyndaquil (which we both pointed out that it's far away from target, so shame on them). So I believe they will do so again, yet, based on the number of cats, dogs, foxes, frogs, generic birds, ultra generic fish, pokeclones and whatnot, I am uncertain of whether it will be done well enough. (btw I remember Breloom, Parasect and Shiinotic. are there more shroomz?) My only problem (or projection of future artist's block) with the new Horse-fire-type-starter, is that there aren't many ways to bypass it. We already have a zebra, and gen7 gave us a donkey. What could it be? Fortunately, even with the vast number of rabbits, Scorbunny manages to stand out this far. The reason I initially despise the idea of a Grass-type-monkey-starter is the existence of the elemental monkeys which look like fakemon. Sobble is cool. I'll wait and see how it evolves. BTW (and that's for everyone involved in this thread) Can we please stop calling every new idea, a "theory"? For something to be considered a theory, it must have evidence backing it up, and pretty much be foolproof on paper. So yeah. Please refer to them as ideas of hypotheses. They aren't theories.
  21. The issue is not with an immunity to Rock itself, but the added bonus of absorbing the SR. You are creating an unbalanced ability, and that's my main issue with it. It's an immunity + heal absorption + hazard removal Now onto Poison being an example. I don't think it works because of the following Every type has a gimmick. Electrics cannot be paralyzed, Fire cannot be burnt, Ice cannot be frozen. So Poison cannot be... Poisoned. Or can it? Given Corrosion is a thing, now Poison types CAN be poisoned (under very specific circumstances, to be fair) Poison type pokemon absorb the Toxic Spikes but don't heal from them. Neither do they have an ability that absorbs Poison type attacks and turns them into HP. It's a good thing they do because the effect of Toxic Spikes can stack and may completely destroy defensive playstyles. SR and Spikes may be powerful against specific pokemon, but at least they don't punish the pokemon for every consecutive turn. Here you're not proposing buffing Rock-types up, by making them absorb SR. You're giving that luxury to an ability. For me, custom overpowered abilities to useless pokemon seem a cheap way to improve them, as they disregard all precedent both in terms of what an ability is meant to do, and what a type is supposed to represent. Apart from that, giving up on certain pokemon is sometimes the only way to deal with the situation.
  22. In general Gen2 pokemon have received the short end of the stick. They have been outdone in multiple areas and their roles are constantly being restricted. They could definitely use a little buff here and there. I personally would have started with things like Ledian, Ariados, Xatu, Octillery, Lanturn, or Delibird, but Magcargo is also one forgotten mon. The issue with Magcargo is that it doesn't have a role to play. It can't be fully defensive because of its abysmal stats and terrible typing, it can't be supportive because of typing and lackluster movepool, it can't go on the offensive. It's a snail that's meant to now be forgotten, given how the power creep increases with each added generation. Were I to fix it, I would consider a new ability that would be OP in other pokemon. However, the idea of Molten Rock is way too strong imo. Either have it be a semi-immunity to Rock, disregarding SR as well, OR have it absorb SR without being immune to Rock attacks in general. Storm Drain is again overkill. It's not only an immunity to Water, but also a boost in SpA. It's safe to always assume the pokedex entries to be made by the 10yo that caught the pokemon, thus making them biased and certainly not scientific. Don't pay them any serious attention. As for the stats, I can't say I disagree with the changes. Maybe tinker them a bit more. HP: 60 --> 75 ATK: 50 --> 40 DEF: 120 --> 130 SPA: 90 --> 95 SPD: 80 --> 100 SPE: 30 --> 20 BST: 430 --> 460
  23. There's a lot to reply to here. @ty_taurus While the Fire starters do follow the Zodiacs, meaning we can always speculate what the next ones will be (or not be, given we've already got a Fire Horse in Gen1), the company has already realised that they'd need to deviate in order not to be obligated to ruin the pattern in their later games. A fennec fox is not a dog, and a badger is not a mouse. They both are big stretches to meet the criteria. For the other 2, it seems you've based your reasoning on an online picture which wants Water starters to be an amphibian with a weapon, and Grass types to be extinct or prehistoric pokemon. I'm afraid that's only partially correct. Water starters are indeed amphibians, or at least in relation to part of real-life animal's lives being amphibious. I do not however see the link with the weaponry. Blastoise, Samurott and Greninja all include Canons, Swords and Shurikens respectively. It is notable here how Greninja's Shuriken is not part of the design but a signature move. The others don't. Feraligatr certainly doesn't have brass knucles. Primarina doesn't have a spiked club on her body, nor does its fighting style relate to physical attacks of the sort. It's a bard, and it's sound based. Swampert's fan-like tail is not a weapon. It's more likely an exaggeration to how the real axolotl's tails look like they're sharp, similar to how Sceptile's tail being a tree is an exaggeration of possible extra characteristics on real animals. Empoleon sits in the middle. While one can see the trident, it's on its head, alluding to a crown, more than horns or an imbedded weapon. Adding to that how Empoleon is based on real-life emperor of France, Napoleon, and how the pokemon does not learn a single "horn" move to link to the weapon in question, I'd say it doesn't meet the criteria. As for the Grass types, I'd have to admit they are the most diverse of the sort, as their "pattern" keeps becoming a lot more diverse and vague the more generations we receive. Almost looks like they weren't expecting the franchise to go this well in order to plan that much ahead. While I agree that the first 5 were Reptiles, and that was concise, the introduction of Chespin and then Rowlet changed things. Being prehistoric works for Venusaur and Meganium which resemble dinosaurs. I guess Sceptile is a gecko and thus a reptile and thus has a link to dinos as well. Torterra is based on the myth that the earth is supported by a huge tortoise (and it's also flat). Serperior is a snake-like vine or a vine-like snek that lost it's legs. And we do have those sneks today. Although with less toupet. Decidueye is supposedly the animal manifestation of deciduous trees, which die during winter, giving it the Ghost status. Pretty neat. I have no idea what Chesnaught is based on. I just know I like it. /reply With all that out of the way, it's important how Scorbunny assumes the role of the energetic "football" player and hints towards the secondary typing. Most people right now predict Electric, and frankly there's little reason not to. The 5 remaining fire starter pokemon are a Rabbit (got it in Gen8), Horse (hard to see how they deviate from Rapidash there), Snake (managable), Ox and Sheep (which probably shouldn't be back-to-back to avoid fanbase retaliation, and one of them better be Fire/Steel). Scorbunny is rightfully accused of being too cartoony, but since it's only a 1st-stage we can cut it some slack and wait for the final forms. Sobble for me is the most interesting one, because it encapsulates all the characteristics a staple water starter must have, while also being hinted at its personality from the very first direct, meaning that we could speculate on its evolution, playstyle, moves, and possible types. I would certainly enjoy a Water/Poison starter, although I'm not sure that Acid Armor is what's used there, but rather a hint at an ability. Given all starters have an exclusive (to each other) hidden ability, it won't have protean, and certainly not a washed-down similar ability, like Colour-change. If we ignore the fact that with each new generation new abilities enter the game, and limit ourselves to what's already given, Clear Body is a possibility, but that's already done with Tentacruel, an already good fast defensive spinner with Water/Poison typing. There's always the possibility that I'm forgetting something, but at first glance it seems like it's going to receive an evasion-based ability that works under watery conditions (rain, soak, water sport etc), which we don't have yet. Grooky is a monkey that stimulates grass to grow by playing the song of its people. That has urged people to speculate a sound-based starter, and frankly, we've already been going towards establishing sound moves as an actual part of the meta, with the introduction of both Liquid Voice for Primarina and Throat Chop for many Dark types. It's never going to actually become a separate typing because lots of different creatures employ Sound-based moves, and they already have their own niche by being unblockable by subtitute. Yet, it's fun to see more pokemon use it as their main modicum of attack or support. For this reason, I don't really see either the Psychic or Rock subtypes. Psychic because there's already precedent with Meloetta and Oranguru, being sound/music entusiast and supportive tutor-like pokemon respectively. That of course doesn't instantly excude it; but it's a copy of sorts. Rock is just not there. Okay it hit a rock. So what? We don't have enough clues to assume that just yet.
