  2. Hi there. Portuguese, right? I'd like to go there someday. We have similar interests because I like science too. Out of curiosity, why do you think studying is similar to grinding? Just curious.

Vinny was joking. ... I think.

Banned for being vague. Losers in what? Chess, go, battleship? Be a little more specific. Edit: Oh, dang... K_H, banned for being a ninja.

Banned for being kind-hearted and sympathetic, with a natural desire to help others in need. *trollface*
  6. Please. A blue moon was supposed to be a term for a rare event before it lost all meaning because everyone and their moms started naming their Empoleon that. A Kricketot named Jiminy.

Banned for always talking about cats, rather than puppies. That's discrimination. Discrimination, I say.
  8. Hey there, I'm not sure if I can suggest something "as good as" Reborn", but I can suggest some hacks/games. Also keep in mind, it's a matter of subjective judgement. Right now I'm playing Emerald Omega. It's basically Emerald with Physical/Special split and some later gen moves/abilities. It's a nice challenge, because there's no ridiculous level curve, but the bosses have good movesets and teams. I think the latest version has Fairy type as well (I have the slightly older version so I'm not sure.) I've always loved Emerald so I was really excited about this. Liquid Crystal has a lot to do. There's Kanto, Johto, and then Orange Islands and diving and dismembering criminal organizations and stuff. Arguably, the more interesting part starts after the Elite Four is beaten. You have a bunch of rivals, and some of them and even worse, It's fun. If you want a more difficult version, there's Shiny Gold X, but it doesn't have Physical/Special split. Also, I personally loved Blaze Black 2/Volt White 2, as well as Sacred Gold/Storm Silver. These are nds games. It's been a while since I played them so I can't really give a very good description but I remember being hooked to them for a time.

  11. I'm really impressed by the work that has been put into these. They're obviously well-thought and they add a whole other dimension into the game. That said... dat Rocky Field. Just reading about it makes me nervous. Am I the only one? Yes? Okay then.
  12. Hi, new guy. I'm new as well. Welcome. Nice sig
  13. I have both Noivern and Flygon. Firstly: I suck at slots too. I got Flygon with help from this site: http://www.voltorbflip.com/ It's not 100% accurate. You'll still need lots and lots of patience. (Put some music on and be prepared to spend hours on it.) Also, if you're really stringent about doing things on your own, don't use it. It's just a suggestion. Secondly: I didn't train Noibat from the beginning. I had reached a point where I had six or so badges. I caught a bunch of Noibats, picked the best and speed-trained it. It was easier at this point because the wild Pokemon were higher-leveled and I had wider choice of spots (and hence, EVs). Haven't used Tyrantrum, but I might based on the comments. Edit: ninja'd by the magical abilities of Chimchain.
  14. I was wondering about your Arcanine and Manectric, basically, because if they're more on the physical side, I'd suggest a special attacker, whereas if they're more on the special side, I'd suggest a physical attacker. You know, to complement what you are missing. In general terms: Azumarill has never disappointed me, nice power (Huge Power obviously), nice bulk, versatile movepool (you can get Azurill level 23 for Bounce, then common-candy Marill down for Aqua Tail.) Gardevoir has Calm Mind and Psychic by level up. She's reasonably fast and very strong on the special side. I'd just avoid putting her up against physical attackers who are faster than her. OK, these are the only two I've used. Whatever you pick, good luck.
  15. I loved the chess part! I wished there were more puzzles. One of the worst parts for me was that labyrinth with the cultists... I was like "come on, game. I have beaten grunts in large numbers before. This is what I do." But nope, I must sneak past them. It was extremely frustrating. Not to mention I didn't read the books, because I did not know they were there. (Also, I was too preoccupied with not hearing "there is no escape from the eyes of God" for the millionth time." Geez, cultist guy, you're not God.) So anyway, I reach the next room...puzzle. Insert number here. What number? Oh, right, that guy who let me out said something about books. Where are these books? Check Reborn forum... they're in this labyrinth I just passed. Ugh. +1 to training Noibat, as well.
  16. @Dobby, Mockingbird: Thanks. I'll... keep that in mind. Although I've never actually played against people. Seems like a fun place, though, so I might check it out.
  17. My name is Amber. I started playing Pokemon in primary school. My sister and I shared a Game Boy, because my parents wanted to promote filial spirit. (That went extremely well.) We had Pokemon Blue, but when Yellow came out, I went crazy. I explained to my father that we had to get it. He asked why. he said it sounded about the same as Blue. I said it wasn't the same at all, that Pikachu followed you around and made cute faces and that you could get Charmander and Bulbasaur and Squirtle. That did not persuade my father. There was this group of girls in my class. They used to gang up on me: take my bag and throw the contents all over the classroom, push me in trashbins. One day, the leader of the group brought her Game Boy to school and started playing Pokemon Yellow. She had trouble with Misty’s Starmie. I could tell on her for bringing a Game boy to school. Instead, I helped her beat the Starmie. From that day, the bullying magically stopped and I got to play Pokemon Yellow in breaks. I rediscovered Pokemon in adulthood because of nostalgia, but the original series were too easy. I have played some good hacks, but Reborn... blew my mind. It may be the only fan-made Pokemon game I have played that places real restrictions and does not rely on artificial difficulty. Well, except for some of the puzzles; gosh, who is the troubled, sadistic mind who conceived these things ahem, yep, anyway. The universe is deliciously dark, and I love the idea that P. are scarce because of human-caused environmental problems. I love the fact that you get to decide who to side with, rather than having the game hammer it to you. (I kind of hope that Ame turns out to be a antagonist of some sort.) I’m currently in Agate circus, and I’m very excited about what comes next. Sided with Randomus because Elias was obv lunatic. Alright, granted: Luna might be slightly off the rocker herself, but not in the fanatic way that harms others. Also, Fern is perfect. Congratulations. The kind of guy who waits until you get out of a gym, all exhausted, and jumps at you with a team specifically designed to counter the team that counters the gym’s type. (Now don’t get any ideas, Ame.) And then boasts. And if you win, he says it was by luck. I mean... gosh. His Roserade. I remember his Roserade when it was just a Roselia. Surviving my Monferno’s fire attacks with a sliver of health. And then hitting back with Extrasensory. Which caused flinching. Or KO’d. And you know what? That’s a good thing. In almost any other game, a fire-type starter would have been enough to lolsweep a rival with a grass team. But not here. To which I say: FINALLY. Thank you. Bring it on, give me more. Alright, thanks for listening, hope I fit in. Edit: Sorry about the initial formatting! I copy-pasted directly from Office (facepalm). Thanks for the welcomes!
