According to the field effect page all ground moves should fail though -
There's a one tile patch of grass in the room where you get solosis, but you can't actually get into it.

Just keep soft reseting, you'll find it eventually.

For some reason earth power doesn't fail on the field. -
You need to put honey on that tree on the other side of the web. I don't remember exactly how to do this one but I think you need to clear out some other webs and ride a tauros in there and jump that ledge.

Check just inside bennett's room, to the left for the cabinet. If you find everything your reward is an experience share. The whole behind the tree leads to a small cave with a lake in it and an item I think. You should be able to get in by just walking into the tree. Route 4 isn't for another 4 badges.
