The theories of him joining to survive or to annoy the protagonist are more Fern-ish and believable, but still, who goes through all the trouble of joining a terrorist group just to annoy another person, specially someone like Fern who is always "to cool for everybody"?

It's especially hypocritical after the factory scene, where he should be well aware they were going to use explosives. And one of the comments he makes if you talk to him while you're teamed up is "Just who do these people think they are, anyway?"

My work habit is somewhat worse. It goes something like "do work early so you can play games late at night, feel tired the next morning and turn up late to class everyday"

First year of college for me was like a transition period. So it felt like a review of high school stuff while adding some real college work. The real fun begins when you need to take those classes for your major/minor. A word of advice: Don't cram for exams, it doesn't work anymore.
