After the explosion, the heat seemed to die down immensely. Yuzuki could have sworn that she heard a scream somewhere behind all of the flames but she had something else to focus on. Natsuki was injured. She had taken the brunt of the explosion and had even prevented Yuzuki from getting anything more than her clothes singed. With flames having died down, she turned her attention to the direction of the four fighting the unknown beast who had already unleashed a Hyper Beam into the sky. From the looks of it, the beast was probably on its last ropes and the other four were given an opportunity to take control of the situation on the other end. Besides, Yuzuki did not want to push Natsuki any further. "Natsuki, get some rest." She said to the injured Gardevoir as she returned it back to its Pokeball. With that, she moved in the direction of what she saw to be the captain standing over someone's body in the distance. In the first moment of emotion she had shown since getting on the boat, she put her palm on her forehead, making absolute certain not to knock the glasses and muttered, "Just what the hell is going on here?"

Well, seeing as I've gathered enough interest, I should have an OOC/Sign-up Thread up either by the end of the week or some time next week. Until then, look forward to it and please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.

Esper hit men but yay~ Go right ahead. It would definitely be interesting to see that. You might need to be more detailed about it but that definitely sounds like a viable power. There was something similar to that in the actual canon called Trick Art so it should work. Yeah, the universe is very complicated. Heck, there is a point where science can seem indistinguishable from magic and vice-versa but we'll be sticking to the science side (as much as I do love the series's magic side).

As for important events, I will be putting a list of any important events that you need to be aware of in a Background section in the OOC. But, there should not be much for you to worry about. Aside from the fact that there is a war going on in the background in which the City is one of the parties, the main plot will not be affecting the RP. I actually made sure to pick a time in which none of the main protagonists would be able to intervene as they are all in...other places... That being said, some characters from the canon will show up but you do not need to worry about any of their backgrounds unless I provide them. That and some plot elements from the canon will show up but again, you will not need to worry about background knowledge for that. As for a Subway...I don't think so, but we do have not-Denny's (aka Joseph's). Would that suffice? That being said, I think I have a yes from Dobby, a conditional yes from KosherKitten, and a possible yes (I can't really tell) from Murdoc... I kinda would like to have 4 definite yes before I make an OOC/Sign-up, though... As that would be the necessary minimum...

This does happen. For example, Log Horizon went from AIC to Studio DEEN for its second season. Persona went from AIC to A-1 for Golden. Nanoha went from Seven Arcs to A-1 for Vivid. So, yeah. Studio changes do happen. On another note, so hyped for Heavy Object tomorrow~

Beat me to the punch on that one, Huk. XD Hmm…the idea is that 1/3 of Tokyo was cordoned off and made into its own independent city-state called Academy City. As indicated by the name, it is a city where the majority (80% iirc) of the population is students. Within this city, a large amount of scientific research is done to the point where the technology and knowledge in the city is about thirty years ahead of the remainder of the world. One of the things that is being researched is the development of Esper abilities through what is known as the Power Curriculum Program. A majority of students in AC go through this program and gain Esper abilities of varying strength. That's the basics of the setting. I am planning to give more of a background on the OOC if I get enough interest in the RP, though. That is also a good way to put it, though a bit simplified.

I do want to stick within that age range as much as possible. The main problem is that, at least in the verse, we have not seen any adults who are Espers. All of the Espers which we have seen are students, which is the main reason why I made the highest age 21 (or 22 would be fine too). There are plenty of adults in the Dark Side, but I would have to be more careful when approving character sheets for adult characters and there is a lot more in-verse knowledge that does need to go into them. At least, as this is my first time hosting an RP, I kinda don't want to go too wide with this.

At this point, I have fleshed it out enough to be ready to warrant an Interest Check. Let me introduce myself so I can finally get straight down to business. I am Kihara Yuiitsu, your employer. Ahh, does that name, Kihara, sound familiar? That's good. Seeing as you're part of the dark side, I'm sure you've heard the name dropped a couple of times in your line of work. That should help us to get straight to the point. As you have seen from your own experiences in the Dark Side of Academy City, scientific progress is not something that Academy City attains through what one would call ethical methodology. In fact, we tend to find that ethics and morality restrain the human pursuit of knowledge. But that's where the term Kihara comes in. Kihara is the name given to people like me who forgo all pretenses of ethics and humanity for the sake of acquiring knowledge through experimentation. In a sense, though, we are like a family. Even if most Kiharas share a bloodline, though, it's hard to say that there is a sense of camaraderie between us. In the end, the only real tie between the Kiharas is the desire to pursue science. As a result, all of the Kiharas reside here in Academy City where the technology and knowledge gap between here and the rest of the world is…about thirty years. We don't like to talk to the outside world about that. So, here is where the problem lies. As a result of the tension between Academy City and Russia that escalated into the start of World War III two days ago, the illusion that the Academy City's monopoly on scientific development may not last has begun to ripple throughout. As such, we have Kiharas making preparations for exodus from the city. The job is quite simple in concept. You are to eliminate these rogue Kiharas before they can complete their flights from Academy City. Will you take this job? Sign-up Template:

Given Natsuki's injuries, I don't think Yuzuki can do much for now aside from sit and observe, or perhaps point out that the others have a window to attack. Not really much she can do at the moment.

Nagi put a hand to her chest and sighed. Hikaru seemed to have finally believed her intentions so she realized that her job may go off without a hitch. "That's fine. It's understandable for you to be hostile. After all, some random mage came into your residence without warning." She put her arms back down to the armrests of the chair and spoke again. "As for a neutral zone, all that is needed is for a location that is not in the territory of any faction. Somewhere like the middle-class residential district is the first thing that comes to mind."
