The standard plural in English of octopus is octopuses. However, the word octopus comes from Greek, and the Greek plural form octopodes is still occasionally used. I mean, octopuses in captivity need to go through daily therapy to keep their minds sharp, and often times the rehabilitators touch their suction cups, so they might be feeling an emotion close to a laugh.
