  1. Oh, whoops, I see. Yes, your reputation will certainly affect what other clubs think of you. As it increases other trainers will begin to look at you differently. That's all I can really say without giving too much away.
  2. It's more of a grind procedure. I'd like to make it win/loss based, but that's too easy to exploit as players can just (and will) reset upon losing. When you win you will gain some reputation points towards fight clubs. The higher the rank of battle, the greater the amount of reputation points.
  3. A little more on the Fight Club thing I mentioned a couple days ago, it will be split into sections, Standard and High Roller. Once you gain entry into the club, you won't be able to just jump into the well paying stuff straight away, you'll have to build up some reputation first doing standard battles. After you've gained enough Fight Club reputation you can advance into High Roller battles, where you earn Credits. Also, not all Fight Clubs will be easily available. Fight Clubs in the future may require you to have preexisting Fight Club reputation to enter. You're gonna have to start at the bottom. Episode 3 is almost ready!
  4. Maybe not too soon. Can't have the player having items that are too broken at the start. We'll see.
  5. Tfw when you're sleeping and your curtain detaches from the window and the bar hits you in the head ._.

But can your dog change your avatar every few days?

  6. ~Announcement~ So one feature I'm adding into Episode 3 is the beginning of Fight Clubs. Fight Clubs are exactly what they sound like in Desolation. Let me explain: Imagine yourself walking down a dark alleyway in the cold rain, the glistening of water on the brick pathway and the light of the moon being your only guide while shady bystanders stare you down, an outsider. You step off the path to your right and find yourself in a fairly normal looking bar. The bartender pays minimal attention to you, just some lost kid, right? But you're not an innocent and lost kid. You point at the back door, the bartender looks up, surprised. He opens the backdoor revealing a set of stairs. You briskly make your way down the stairs and find yourself in a huge underground basement. The room is dark, besides the ring in the middle where you see trainers and their Pokemon fighting... brutally. The battle ends and the cheering is deafening, but you're not here to cheer. You walk up to the ring, put your credits on the table and step into the ring, it's your turn. This was my general thought process when I developed this idea and I believe I've pulled off the final concept pretty well. There is one Fight Club in Episode 3, although it is relatively hidden. The idea is simple, you fight in an underground club to gain recognition and more importantly, a few credits. Fight Clubs will be very important in Cellia City, as it will be the best way to gain reputation in a district and in Cellia, recognition is everything. Stay tuned for more updates!
  7. It's a cool concept but I think the standard potions work better in this case. It's a lot more fair early game, as gel's wouldn't be very effective in the early stages. You know when a Gym Leader uses a potion and you're like "Aw no, now I've gotta take it down again"? Yeah. If a potion only restores 20% well then they're only helping you out, as you're probably doing more than 20% a hit. The normal scaling of potions works quite well anyway where if you have the correct potions then you can fully heal up at all levels and at all stages of the game.
  8. I tend to do a small amount of optional content in games. Not 100% completion, but a fair bit. Most people, myself included, would certainly play optional content as it comes along so long as its interesting and not repetitive, so in this case I imagine it'd be fine. I for one will play all the content I can find.
  9. Taillow's encounter rate is slightly increased compared to what Starly's was.
  10. I've actually always wanted to do this. There is one problem, though. I about as good at scripting as a twelve year old COD player who threatens to DDOS you.. Maybe a little better. Still, I'd need some help with that.
  11. Every place worldwide will only have wild Grimer and Muk, except Japan. It's secretly a tactic to increase tourism in Japan.
  12. Quick update here. There ARE multiple endings in Episode 3, however they are more dependant on the decisions you have already made rather than the decisions you will make in Episode 3.
  13. If Pinocchio says his nose will grow, what will happen?

Correct, the paradox only applies when Pinocchio says 'now'. Glad you and Viri figured it out.

I had realised you hadn't said 'now', but I didn't bring it up for some reason. I think 'now' is slightly ambiguous one a technical level; if you wanted to be exact, he should say "my nose will grow as a result of this statement."

  14. The sprite updates for players will be coming in Episode 4. Mini Announcement As most of you know, Episode 3 of Desolation is almost ready. Well, was almost ready. I've had a huge amount of amazing ideas come in from the community recently and I realized that some were so good that I have to add them into the next Episode. These are only in the form of side quests. This means that although the amount of content in Episode 3 will increase, the Episode will come about a week later then expected. Stay tuned, frens [:
  15. The only changes would be in dialogue and little bits of an event but the story itself wouldn't change. I use feedback to improve on the future of the game but I can't really change a story that's already happened. Here's a progress report for Episode 3 for those who are at the edge of their seats. Prior updates (99%) #################### | Field Updates (100%) #################### | Event Updates (100%) #################### | Graphic Updates (95%) #################### | Map Remodeling (100%) #################### | Misc Updates (100%) #################### | Scripting Updates (100%) New content (96%) #################### | Mapping (100%) #################### | New Field Effects (100%) #################### | Eventing (95%) #################### | Sidequests (90%) #################### | Story (95%) Total Completion: #################### | (97%)
  16. I really like this kind of feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I'd really like to know what moments you felt were a little weak, you can PM to me if you'd like.
  17. Help me. I can't see. No seriously, someone give me a hand. Oh did I just impale you on my tusks? Whoops. My bad.
  18. Who knows? Maybe he's training new pokemon at the same rate as you in particular on purpose.Or maybe he just force feeds everything reverse candies. Oh and let's be real here, if you put a fur lined jacket on anyone they'll suddenly look like Izaya.
  19. I figured that I haven't done revealed one of these entries for a while and considering that Nova was the character done last, I figured that we could use some insight into the yang of her yin, Shiv. Once again, shhhhh. It's still super classified ._.
  20. One day I'll write my search into the search bar instead of the status bar ._.

  21. I didn't realize the amount of applications would be this huge in the thread and in PM's. So to avoid clutter, let's keep registrations to the PM's from now, thanks!
