Hey now, when I first started playing Reborn and still was naive to what I was getting myself into, I had quite a few narrow misses. Not just with Gym battles (actually I lost several of those on the first try lel), but rival battles as well. You don't know how frustrated any battles with Fern made me. Especially the one in Rini- I mean Florinia's Gym. Also, a correction: Gothita is no longer the Pokemon in the house in Peridot, it's an Espurr as of... um, E13? But any suggestions to get Meowstic on your team (either, really, but I have quite a fondness for the male's efficiency at dual-screens, courtesy of Prankster) I am going to be 100% behind, haha. If you want Gothita instead, that event is in Beryl Library now.

You're looking in the wrong building, then- that's the Aqua Gang's. If there's no one there, that means that you joined Magma, and their entrance is in another place. Try looking a bit south of the flower shop.

...This topic appeared as I was just grinding Pidgeotto to add to my rotation. He literally just evolved a few seconds ago. Wow. Anyway yes, it is very possible. Farfetch'd, Starly's line, Ducklett's line and Rufflet's line can all breed Brave Bird onto a Pidgey. Take your pick.

Well, we've fought PULSE Pokemon. I guess it was only a matter of time until we ended up fighting Megas. Bring on the suffering. And the help threads. Look on the bright side, there's at least no Hydro Pump Magnezone in Reborn

The malicious file thing is something new with Chrome... what you need to do is go into your settings and uncheck "Enable phishing and malware protection". Only, remember to check it again when your download is finished~ As Reborn has never come with a free virus in the past, I'm kind of doubting it will now. That might help make Mega work for you? As for Radomus (there is no n please stop doing this to me), I'd recommend a Dark-type of some sort. Drapion in particular doesn't mind Gardevoir's Moonblasts too much, and gets a nice Crunch via level up. I've also been pointed to Escavalier a few times, and while I haven't used it against him, I can see why it'd laugh at Trick Room (dat base 20 Speed) + it doesn't mind Psychic/Rock chess attacks in the slightest.

Well, there are a few reasons, really. One of them is most certainly the nostalgia involved. My first game was Gold, and, while I did make those typical mistakes such as raising only one Pokemon to an obscenely high level and neglecting the rest of my team (kind of funny how it's the exact opposite of this now), I was hooked extremely quick. Another is because of the Pokemon themselves- you can literally build a bunch of different team combinations and try to use new things, which is how you warm up to them and learn to love their designs and unique skill sets. And babying them with entirely too much item use and doing my best to never let them faint. Although there will always be one or two I won't be able to do without. I'm looking at you, oh Meowstic who I have not managed to do a Reborn playthrough without yet. Yes, that means you, Cantus. Finally, I also really like exploring the overworld and finding hidden items and new locations. The graphics aren't the best compared to some other games, but really, that's not something I could care less about. Which is perhaps why I love the Mystery Dungeon games so much- going through harder dungeons gets you better loot, and the art for those games is different and really a sight for sore eyes. Tl;dr... I play it because it's Pokemon, with all of its charms. Nothing more, nothing less.

You can't breed Thunderbolt onto Magnezone, since it's genderless. Just adding that in. Ice Beam Nidoking should be a-ok, though.

You need to talk to the hiker to the south of Peridot Ward twice, then go to the empty house- there should be the guy looking to sell that lot there. Then go back to the hiker, then back to the house.

Xe. Not he. And I really can't see how Adrienn would want a field like this, considering all of xyr Fairy STAB would become useless. Yes, I'm aware you were probably joking, but my point still stands. If I had a nickel for every time someone misses those gender-neutral pronouns...

Yep, I'm sure Terra will be happy to give you a Lugia. ...But you'll have to do something for her first. If you catch my drift. winkyface

Shots fired. Honestly, if you're looking for something bulky, wait for Timburr. If you want full-on offensive, go with Heracross, yeah. I'm dubious about Hariyama's ability to hold up effectively later in the game. (Maybe against Noel, but otherwise? Nah.)

That Ability Capsule Beneath the Grand Stairway is definitely obtainable before Shelly even, so you've got access to that one. Ironically, there's also another one hidden on a rock in the bit of Citrine Cave just south of Shade's Gym.

Bird has no weaknesses, resistances, nor strengths, to my knowledge. It'll probably just be Normal, only without Ghosts being immune to it/Rock and Steel resisting it/it being immune to Ghost/being weak to Fighting. ...Granted that there are no Bird-type moves for there to be strengths with, so... yeah. Mind you that I am just speaking for the Bird-type that was in R/B/G/Y. Reborn's variant of it could be different, by all means.

...I think Ame's finally cracked. I told y'all you should stop asking when Episode 14 will come out. This field is crazy and nifty and I love it. I can't decide what my favourite part is: Psychic being OP as hell; Dark, Steel, and Fairy not existing; or... actually scratch that. It's definitely Camouflage changing the user's type to Bird. Missingno. confirmed? Either way, this is about as close to R/B/G/Y as you could possibly get. Absolutely amazing. The only question I have now is... where exactly would we run into this? Something bizarre is coming up, I can feel it in my bones, enough to make my systems blow...

If I'm assuming you're talking about the one that leads to the Yureyu Key, go to Route 1 and battle Fern, then come back. That rock should be a Rock Smash rock afterwards.

I want to know more about Lin. Especially with this whole ongoing thing with the Lin from the orphanage, who is entirely too young to be this Lin... but they apparently look very similar, if Sigmund is to be believed. I'm sure there's more to her story than just "power is everything", too. ...Oh wait, that's not what you were asking... I agree, Team Meteor has been a lot more straightforward and destructive about accomplishing their goals than any of the teams in the main series games. But y'know, Reborn isn't a main-series game. It's much more mature, and thus, there's more leeway with how much villainy can be shown. For that, I can respect them, I guess. I like that their goal is in a morally-grey area too, in that, it's a just one, but they're going about it in completely the wrong way. The city is a fucking mess and does need to be cleaned up, but running people out of their homes and murdering them is what spurrs one on to stop them. That aside, everybody loves Taka because he's one chill dude, and I'm pretty partial to ZEL myself... jussayin'. Still can't decide what the most fucked up thing they've done yet is, though... might say Kiki's death if only because Solaris did it right there, brutally. Worst part is, I'm sure they're capable of much worse things than that. Worse than what happened to Eclipse, even.

By my count, this makes four Heart Scales before you can get the Mining Kit. I'll note down any more I find, I guess. Yes, it's hidden randomly in the middle of the bridge. You'd be surprised how many items there are in the middle of the floor, or in the sides of buildings. If I posted everything I found on this run there would be a lot of images, so I'm only going to post noteworthy things, like Heart Scales and Ability Capsules.

Ah, so he only directs you to the next Gym? I did not know this. I can see how someone wouldn't know where to go based on that, since there is almost always story stuff to do before battling any Gym Leaders. In that case, this thread is most certainly necessary, I'd say.
-
You rang? ...Oh, wait. If someone actually gets lost. Not me. Okay. /terrible joke There is the guy at the counter in the Grand Hall, but I actually have forgotten he exists myself. (Not that I've ever needed his help, since I tend to remember where to go, but, regardless.) So this should (hopefully) cut down on the amount of "Where do I go next what is happening what" threads. ...Well, after we start directing people to it when they ask, like the Gym Leader Help thread.

Poison Jab is a TM, which cannot be passed down with Gen VI breeding mechanics, which are what E13 has. If you want Protect and Poison Jab, you'll have to go back to E12 or earlier. That same chain you've mentioned will work just as well, only you'll breed a female Spinarak with Protect using that Dustox, level it up for Poison Jab, and then breed that with a female Venipede. (Not that you really need to, since Venipede learns Protect via level up anyway- you could just as easily just breed for Poison Jab.)

The only requirement is nighttime, besides having the Ill-Fated Doll of course. Also, it's level 55, so be prepared for that.

Okay whoa, whoa, whoaaaaaaaa. Hold on a minute there. First of all, I was not at all trying to talk down to you. My apologies if I came across that way. Secondly, I'm quite fond of looking for easter eggs myself. (As exploring is one of my favourite things to do, it kind of comes with the territory.) The only thing I was saying is that you shouldn't expect a reward for something where you haven't accomplished much anyway, for the sake of the story. I was not at all saying you couldn't try doing something differently and anticipate unlocking something- I was just speaking for what happens in this particular case. How someone is to play the game is entirely up to them after all, so I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of stopping you, really. Nor would I try. Do as you will.

Firstly, please do not use the word "raped" like that. That's not something that should be taken lightly. Secondly, a lot of people have defeated the Garchomp intentionally- you are far from the first. The thought that Solaris couldn't just throw out another Pokemon, or just use a Revive, really, is rather silly. You're not rewarded for it because you accomplished nothing. ...Well, you are rewarded for it in that you actually get a nice chunk of prize money for your victory rather than losing some of yours for blacking out. That's enough, isn't it? But you see, that's how Reborn is. It feeds off of your pain and suffering, and crushes your hopes and dreams into pieces. You'll just have to get used to it.
