  1. What am I most exited for? Hoenn with the physical/special split implemented. Never played gen 3 before, got out of pokemon after gen 2 and the lack of a split always stopped me going back there. So I'm keen to finally play in Hoenn.
  2. And a very happy birthday to you Mikzal. (It is over here anyway.) Just in time huh?

    1. Fezzdog

      Fezzdog

      herpy burpday!

  3. To unlock the door in the slums you'll need the dull key. You can't get that until after the 3rd gym. It's in the railnet, behind some rock smash rocks.
  4. A warning to all. A certain gator has been seen lurking on the premises.

    1. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

      Is that thing still alive?

Oh well... I'm sure Someone will get tired and just kill it eventually...

  5. Bit late to this one (even though it's only been like 2 hours... I guess that's what constitutes late). Anyway, welcome.
  6. Yeah, that's the theory I'm running off at the moment.
  7. Them bellsprouts know how to wrap.
  8. Oh wow. Hope everything goes well for you.
  9. Not gonna lie, that was damned inventive Hilda. Anyway, I do believe my name is not Vinny, nor has it ever been Vinny. Let's try Devon.
  10. I think for now I'll refrain from joining in. I could probably do it if I tried, but right now I'm generally pretty strapped for time (the uni life... seminars to prepare for and exams to sit). If this is struggling for interest then I'll see if I can't work something out but right now I'll let others take the spots.
  11. A Fate style RP? Makes me wish I role played. I reckon I'll leave this to the pro's and read along. I'm definitely interested to see who the servants you've picked are though.
  12. I find your lack of amusing pictures disturbing... Star Wars references ftw Abra.
  13. I didn't quote your whole post 'cause that would be way too long. Honestly, you make quite the compelling argument. I particularly like the piece I have quoted about Gyarados' over-diagnosis to the generic struggling player as a large contributing factor to it's overuse, rather than simple effectiveness alone. It's something I hadn't considered and should have considered, seeing as I've never actually used it in Reborn at all and am basing my own arguments on what I've seen on the forums, potentially leading to my own viewpoint becoming biased by that same overexposure. Even so, something doesn't have to be good to be often used, people simply have to recommend (enough times) that others use it. The main reason I'd like to see it entirely disappear from the beginning of the game is for the sake of diversity rather than for the difficulty of the game. One of the things about Reborn that I like the most is the way it prompts the player to make use of pokemon (at least in the early game) that wouldn't even be considered ordinarily. The vast number of recommendations that Kricketune and Emolga get is proof of that. However, the ubiquity of players using Gyarados to assist them in the early game detracts from this. You are correct in saying that the sorts of changes you propose would decrease Gyarados' usage and potentially reward those willing to work hard seeking it but I'm not convinced that it would decrease it by a large enough margin (for my own tastes anyway). As I've said before my solution would be to simply postpone the point at which you can receive it. Regardless, Ame's already come up with a solution to this issue so I guess the only thing to do is to wait and see what happens.
  14. So when is it supposed to be available? For reference in future episodes.
  15. While I like that you're trying to find alternative solutions to the issue, while keeping with the theme of having to train Magikarp to level 20, my personal opinion is that like you said, Gyarados is way too good for the early game. The issue with making it rare is that people will still look for it (no matter how rare it is) and when they find it they'll still break the game with it. All this'll serve to do is stop less patient people from getting it and annoy the more patient people. I just wouldn't give them the option, even if it means essentially fishing for Gyarados. In my opinion Magikarp needs to be put on that pedestal.
  16. Oh ok, yeah toxic'd work. Didn't realize you could get it by Shade.
  17. Welcome, like Tenshine said we're a good bunch and happy to answer questions you may have. However, like Mikzal said you should probably ask Tempest or Vinny first, as they'll likely give the best answer. Aside from that, probably ditch any remnants of sanity you may still have after even this much exposure to the reborn forums. Keep the love of ice cream though, that might come in handy.
  18. Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. Pretty sure you're right.
  19. Pyroar? Seems like the least useful to me. Still, you're in a better position than me to tell who's useful and who isn't.
  20. Well, the first thing you should probably do is grab a heart scale and get Chesnaught to relearn hammer arm. That should let him lead off against the Cinccino, tank whatever it wants to do and kill it in one hit. Girafarig shouldn't be a problem, just kill it with Zoroark. The big threats to your team are his Porygon-Z, Swellow, Staraptor, and Clefable. Keep Gyarados away from Porygon-Z as I think it knows discharge. He'll be your best bet at killing the birds though, even then he's not the best answer to them. Use Fake out on Hariyama to rack up more status damage on the Swellow if one of your guys goes down. Noivern can probably revenge kill the Staraptor due to it's poor special defense and lower speed. I'm pretty sure Porygon-Z knows psychic as well but if Hariyama can tank one then it can probably kill it with Fake Out and Force Palm. Don't quote me on that though. The Clefable's going to be the real threat, I'm assuming it has moonblast, and that's super effective against 4 of your pokemon. Also you don't have one super effective attack to hit it back with. If you find you can't beat him with this team then my best advice would be to grab something that can reliably deal with the birds alongside an Escavalier. Seriously, my Escavalier absolutely wrecked him with iron head, swords dance and all that bulk.
  21. I got a Zekrom. Not sure on IVs or level, I was too stunned by the fact that I just got a Zekrom.
