  7. KK, that's kewl. Incoming chuuni Name: The One Who Brings True Justice to Both Light and Darkness: Twilight Avenger (Her real name is Lisa Fujita, probably, she might have made that up too) Race: Half demon, half angel. A being born of a forbidden union who is destined to save the world from destruction (She's human) Class: Chuunibyou (Mage) Primary Weapon: A demonic sword filled with the power of darkness (It's just a normal katana) It has a black hilt and a silver blade Backup Weapon: A handgun which shoots purifying bullets (It's not even a real gun, just fires plastic pellets) It is painted white Appearance: [Normal] An average height teenage girl with short black hair and grey eyes. Lisa looks vaguely East-Asian but with slightly less rounded features. She wears a black sailor fuku with the tie-thing and accents being red, knee-high red socks and black shoes. Her gun is strapped to her left ankle and her sword is sheathed to her right hip (the sheath is just plain black) [Chuuni] When her powers are unleashed, Lisa's appearance changes drastically. Her hair changes color to red and grows longer, reaching to her hips. Her eyes also change to red and start glowing. Her sword's blade turns to black fire and her gun starts to glow brightly. A ruby attached to a silver chain latches itself around her right wrist. She keeps the sailor suit, but it doesn't even shrink like it's supposed to. She also sprouts one black bat-like wing and one white-feathered wing to represent her fantasy heritage Personality Overview: Lisa, is, expressive. That's the nicest way to put it. She always acts like she's the protagonist of the universe and that everything is about her journey to "bring justice to light and dark." She's not really a bad person, just a little obnoxious. But on the flip side, she is earnest. She really does wish for justice and peace and even if she acts like life is a game, deep-down she knows the truth of it and will always fight her best. She talks all the time, usually about one of her absurd delusions, making her tough to interact with. When her facade does fall, which isn't often, it's usually because she misses her home and her family. Although her foremost goal is to enjoy herself and show off, she does eventually want to return home Skill Level Overview: The chuunibyou is a powerful being capable of turning their fantasies to reality, but only in the case that their opponent also believes in their power. When her spell is broken, she reverts to being a normal teenage girl with some cheap weapons. However, if one is willing to believe in her strength, then she will gain it, the prayers of a thousand dead flowing through her endlessly and warping reality around her to give her imagined powers truth. The tough part is convincing her enemies that she does possess these powers, since she can't manifest them until after they believe her Her abilities when these powers activate are as follows: Launching waves of demonic black flame from her sword Shooting bullets which explode with light Moving at speeds far beyond that of a normal human Reaction times far beyond that of a normal human Superhuman strength Resistance to injury and pain, as well as hyper-healing of most injuries (notably excluding broken bones) Short-range teleportation The ability to discern the locations of invisible objects and people Flight Generating forcefields out of light and darkness Access to a variety of darkness and light based attacks so long as she can think of a cool name for them Also if she were ever to take off her bracelet in her chuuni form, her powers would run amok and probably destroy a world somewhere (or just start a few memes, she's never done it so there's no real way to know) Backstory: Lisa was born from the union of- Okay, no, let's be real. Lisa is an average girl from an average life in an average world. She always wanted desperately to be special, to be a hero destined to save the world. She created a fantasy around this, one where she became the Twilight Avenger, a being powerful enough to bring justice and balance to the war between light and darkness but who struggled to avoid being overcome by either force. Then came the day when she found a ruby bracelet in her grandmother's attic. She dubbed it the perfect container for her power and wore it nonstop, claiming that if she were to remove it her powers would run amok and destroy the world Some point not long after this, she was sucked through a portal into Myriad, where miracles and magic were real. Angels and demons like in her fantasies did exist. And when she claimed to have power, that power was granted her. Her bracelet now truly contained her powers, and would appear when she was capable of activating them. Why this was the case was unclear, but she was overjoyed by this discovery. She entered into the human military, but was almost immediately "kicked out" because she was crazy claimed to be half and half demon/angel, which didn't go over well. But she did manage to hear about the strike force which totally didn't involve any eavesdropping and decided she would find a way to become a part of it and show them all her true power (I figure you can figure out how she becomes part of it, since I can't exactly see her being invited >_< ) Lemme know what needs changed and if I accidentally stopped mid-thought in any of the sections

  10. Ahem: Gonna talk about suicide, self-harm, and mental abuse, if that will stir up unwanted emotions for you then I ask that you please refrain from reading any further, thank you So a while back I made a thread about the concept of the "waifu," in which I attempted to help people of varying opinions understand each other to the best of my ability. Today I want to expand upon a specific aspect of this: the idea of feeling real love for a fake person. I wish to talk about crossing the line from reality to fantasy Let me lead off with a couple of videos which talk about this line And let me follow them with a disclaimer: I have come to the conclusion that it is entirely possible to feel real love towards characters from media. You're free to disagree, but I'm going to continue with this as a premise With this in mind: Waifus. Are. Not. Real. Even if it is possible to feel real love for them, the fact remains that they are purely a fantasy. No matter how strongly you feel about a character, they are still just a fiction. This is not an opinion, it is fact But for some people this is clearly not as straightforward a fact as it might seem to others. Recently I've encountered several examples of people wanting to go a step further with their waifus or even going so far as to cause themselves physical harm over not being able to be with them. This latter bit is actually of interest, as it occurs in relationships with real men and women as well. One cause of self-harming is mental abuse by a romantic partner. I haven't experienced this myself so I can't speak as to the reasoning behind it, but it does occur. So then if people are causing themselves harm over waifus, does that not imply an abusive relationship? Perhaps not in the conventional sense, as a waifu cannot actually make any effort to cause abuse, but there is a disturbing similarity. In this case the mental struggles are self-imposed, but still exist. And thus, just as love for a waifu can be real, so can this love be really unhealthy. But certainly there's a line, as there are still those who feel real love for characters yet do not fall to this form of despair. I can't give an answer as to what difference there is between those who take their lives and those who live on normally, but there certainly seems to be a difference There's a line between reality and fantasy, and it's not blurred as some would claim. But it's also in a different place for everyone, and it's hard to realize that you've crossed it I have come to the conclusion that there is no set point where waifuism becomes too much, it varies from person to person. Sadly, there's no real way to tell what's too far until after one has reached that distance. What then? Should we draw a line well in advance that should never be crossed? Or is there some other way to hold back from these insanities? Whatever the case above, I can speak with certainty to the slightly less morbid topic. Marrying your waifu is a selfish endeavor. As I mentioned in the previous thread (although I may have been a bit vague), understanding how a waifu feels about you is completely different from understanding how you feel about a waifu. Your waifu has never met you, your waifu will never meet you. Forcing them into a relationship, particularly a marriage, completely defeats the purpose of loving them (unless you're a yandere in which case I guess you don't care... Also you should probably find some help for that). It's wrong and takes no consideration for the character; there is no love behind it, only self-gratification Really, a waifu marriage makes you no better than one of those girls who writes bad fanfictions where she marries the male protag of a shitty romance And those are my opinions. I must confess I'm a tad jarred by the idea of abusive waifu relationships, it's just far too fitting for me to not feel very uncomfortable talking about it. Also if you're wondering why my thoughts seem jumbled, that would be why With Hope, Lexi

  14. (OOC: I have done did with the fucking up, I'm so sorry >_<) Sharp Seeing as Alexus wasn't going to be much help here, Sharp decided it was best that he take charge. Their powers were basically useless against this foe, so he'd need to form a new strategy. He shoved any sense of exasperation down his throat in favor of self-preservation and spoke up in a commanding tone. "Alright, so it gets stronger every time it's defeated, becoming immune to the previous defeat." He said, "That means we need to think of a way it's never been beaten before. Something Miss Lexi would never try." Lexi seemed to be calming down slightly, getting over the initial shock of the insect's appearance;. The very tiny and normally harmless insect's appearance... But Sharp was still certain he couldn't rely on her. And he wasn't sure he could rely on the others either, they seemed competent enough, but if a goddess could be a moron, so could they. (OOC: We'll move on for realsies once you guys solve the riddle of how to beat the cricket)
  15. TFW you're the useless support Also TFW Ahri dashes out from under your cursor and dies (resulting in you literally button-mashing in hopes of healing her and instead just casting your silence in a random place XD), then complains you didn't heal her. I mean she didn't know, but it was kind of annoying nonetheless (add to that the fact that she was kind of a bitch all game and I can't help but not feel sorry for that mistake)
  16. Shit, I'm sorry, IDK why but I thought we were done >_< I shall make the reparations on the eveningz
  17. Wait, shit, did I fuck up? IDR if Alexus's group finished what they were doing... Don't have time too look now, someone look for me or I'll look tomorrow when I get home
  18. So just caught up on Blue Exorcist's manga, and I gotta say, chapter 62 was really awesome

  19. Oi, happy birthday Sheep. Though I still don't know you all that well, I think we've interacted a bit more over this past year than those before it, so I can honestly say you're a cool guy for reasons other than our shared birthday Have a good year and I'll see you back around for the next one ^^\
  20. Thanks everyone for the well-wisherings. And Sheep, that is the greatest cake I've ever seen Fun fact: That actually started out as a complex threat a few years back when I was endlessly edgy and everything I said was secretly violent (even though nobody else could understand my logic). It's not anymore, I speak it honestly now, but that's how it started. Sometimes good things can come from being a stupid teenager XD Hunter, it's amazing to know that someone finds me inspiring. I don't know how well founded it is, I certainly don't view myself as worthy of such an honor Again, much thanks to everyone, it really means a lot that even just one person would bother to notice my birthday With Hope, Lexi
