  1. Alright, so I'm going to start this tonight or tomorrow. Any sheets not finished by then will have to wait for a time when I can write them in As per previous discussion, Tamar is accepted. And since IDK if I mentioned it, Exile has been finalized as well This description sounds like he can't conjure anything at all, but you have a point in the stat. Is this intentional? K, so, if you mean mecha like the stuff TTG peoples use, then I need to clarify: those disappear into nothingness when not in use They protect you from actually being physically harmed (a fireball will hurt but not do anything). As they get weaker they protect you less, lowering effects but not erasing them (fireball gives burns). Eventually your battery is empty and they crash (fireball incinerates you) It wouldn't. There aren't any regular spells to see through illusions. There are detect magic things, but they're super tough and take a lot of skill in manipulation, concentration, and guarding
  2. Straight up I'm probably going to make one effect of your emotion attacks as lowering Concentration, Strider. So yes, high Concentration would make people more resistant Okay so, as this is written right now you're getting +0.5 Conjuring and +0.5 Casting for each level of physical RIP you put yourself in, which I shall determine arbitrarily based on the situation. If you'd like less arbitrary determination I'm willing to talk about a more tangible effect, but if you're fine with semi-arbitrary GM determinations on your buffs then you're good to go As per previous discussion Feardorcha and Bellona are accepted
  3. D: This is pretty okay. Once you're good with it I'll accept it unless you make drastic changes this amuses me. Because she would probably absolutely hate Merlin under normal circumstances How do you mean "degrade her health?" I'm pretty okay with "scaling buff with scaling drawback." But it needs a bit more tangibility. And focusing to specific parts of the body, I didn't think she was casting self-buff spells? Not in the slightest. Nope
  4. I'd probably put a strong stat at 8, since that's >half of your starting points but theoretically you could put as much as 21 into a single stat. If you want her to be able to do everything off of one stat, you're going to need to put a lot into it Sparks are an ability that helps define your mage and their magic. An Aether is an attack (usually) that's designed to only work under certain circumstances but be very useful in those circumstances Aether: "Getting hurt" is a very broad circumstance and +6 stats puts you near the max 21. Also you made a lot of assumptions about the relative power levels of mechs and mages Spark: Removes the standard weakness for mages entirely (this alone is not bad with the right drawbacks) Gives you a chance of a powerful bonus (also not bad alone) Adds a lot of extra rolls for me to make (Okay, this is not necessarily bad either, but it's still something I'm not particularly excited about) Defines numbers that are unrelated to the system at hand, potentially disrupting balance Adds tabletop mechanics with no attempt to port them made whatsoever Favor backfiring would either cause you to literally explode or turn into a soulless husk, not sure which. Either way if you're failing a spell you want that shit out of you or you're dead TBH, this is a trend I was hoping for Combat will work pretty much just like BDB. And the amount will depend on you guys When I feel like you've earned it, you'll get to learn more stuff Arbitrarily determined by the GM when she feels like she's at capacity Favor>mundane, always No problem, I'll look a bit later
  5. Casting is how quickly you can cast, not how versatile you are. There's not really anything that covers versatility Concentration is how good you are at casting This isn't that strong a Manipulation stat That's a really strong buff for such an open condition. Also a strong mage (like everyone here) can most definitely take down a weak mech user, that's a given. It's when you look at strong mechs where you question it. Merlin is the weakest of mages that can contend with a top tier mech, and most max power mages will just barely fall short All of this is no You need six points for a school. And since it wasn't clear before, you are not required a school immediately
  6. What does this mean anyways? No Illusions are Guarding, Concentration is how good you are at not blowing yourself up by paying attention to what you're doing This is arbitrary and unnecessary. Just working from memory is plenty Pretty sure I said no to this effect, I guess I wasn't clear enough, my apologies. TL;DR this lets you see untransformed werewolves, I can't let you have any ability strong enough to let you see untransformed werewolves (No, there are not werewolves in Tempest, but it's a good way to communicate where the line is)
  7. Playing Kayle support: "Team wait for me! I bring Kayle ult! I bring Kayle ult!"

    1. Lugruf

      Lugruf

I remember that when I played Kayle I used to swap R and Alt+R so that pressing R would automatically ult myself

  8. Malz was banned, but Morg is purple too so she must be equally OP, right? Feat. Annie being way too full of herself
  9. NYAHIRO Nyahiro frowned. It made sense of course, a gritty war shooter lady wouldn't expect a high school girl with a fork to be a threat. But she wasn't sure how she could demonstrate the power of the almighty fork so she could go on a ride with Bridgett. Maybe instead of the fork she could do something else. But most of her other abilities had much less precision and would likely end up causing a lot of collateral damage. It seemed like she was going to be cut off from Bridgett if she couldn't think of something to convince the gritty shooter lady, and quickly. "I can put my forks in the Dokodemo Dial so they won't be detected." She said, "But the Musumenium in my body would still be detected."
  10. Yes, this is happening at the same time as TTG. There may or may not be a cameo or two in the thinkies The limitations of summons is dependent on how you create them. Conjuring them from nothing means you can make more and make them faster but they're going to be worse and less controllable. Using items present around you with Manipulation gives much more control and stronger summons, but takes longer and generally can't make as many. Under no circumstances may you ever summon a being with a Dream Space (soul) of its own and the closer to that you get, the harder a summon will be to create and control Cronos. Where did Peyton come from?? Can that not just be his alias? Because everyone is going to call each other by their aliases There's a slight flaw in his backstory. Organized crime doesn't exist in Tempest, or at least not mobs and gangs. Communication issues and an inability to get transportation illegally (unless you're making it yourself) make it virtually impossible. The closest thing would be the fringe science groups who perform experiments of unquestionable illegality but are hard/impossible to track down for the Gods
  11. Nyahiro The idea of finding a weapon more powerful than a fork was silly, what could be more powerful than a fork? Wait, did Bridgett just say they could go for a ride? "Oh, oh!" She cheered, "I will ride with Bridgett-san to take out helicopters. They can't be much tougher than a Byakhee, a fork to the wing and they just fall from the sky like droplets of nectar from my heart~" It wouldn't be hard for Nyahiro to blow the rotors off a few helicopters in a few seconds. Plus she would get to spend time with Bridgett-san, fighting and killing together was great for increasing Lily Rank.
  12. Since Emp asked, Ima real quick mention it here: Most of the combat will be "infiltration mission" type stuff, kind of like BDB but without the world itself trying to murder you... most of the time
  13. Nyahiro NYAHIRO was completely enamored with this world. It looked like something out of a video game, and NYAHIRO loved games. She was practically overflowing with excitement. The depression that had loomed over her from her failed attempts at romance simply washed away. "Do not worry, Bridgett-san!" She exclaimed loudly to her timid companion, "I will protect you!" To illustrate her point she pulled out a handful of forks and threw them into an unsuspecting wall, in which they became stuck with a series of metallic clangs. Nyahiro then looked at the grumpy old lady. "Won't the bad guys be torturing the double agent so she'll spill all of your secrets or something?" She asked, "She might be hurt or... insane. What do we do then?" NYAHIRO shivered as she said insane, recalling the vision the strange man had given her. She said it as though insanity was the absolute worst possible outcome anyone could meet. It probably made her sound naive in most universes, but was essentially true where she came from. As for the double agent, NYAHIRO intentionally omitted that she had a device that could easily carry a hurt ally if the need arose, because she wanted to know what the old lady's plan was first. After all, in shooter games like this* the captured agent always got tortured, sometimes illegally. (OOC: *She's thinking, like, typical gritty war shooter right now. She obviously missed the bit about the cyborg ninja)
  14. NYAHIRO Nyahiro frowned at how poorly things were going. This wasn't what she imagined at all. She didn't really know how to make it better. She put on a smile and cheerfully followed after Bridgett-san, shutting the door and grabbing the Dial behind her. Nyahiro follows Bridgett to Return to Rio
  15. Chronos nodded Meta Knight's head at Argent, "Most certainly." It paused, as though searching for something before continuing. "Speaking of spontaneously combusting, there's a firestorm coming." It said, "And there's no anchor at this location. So unless you wish to be incinerated, you should probably follow me through this teleporter." Chronos stepped onto the teleporter, which had been plainly visible the entire time, and instantly blinked out of existence. It reappeared in a building much like the last, equally ruinous but a bit larger. Also there was a large stone box in this one. The box was covered with writing inscribed all over the surface and a panel of nine buttons on one side. It turned to explain to the arriving warriors, "That box is likely a puzzle of some kind. We can try to solve it or we can wait out the storm and head into the Wilds where I can get us close to another teleporter." Location: 0. Choose: Puzzle or Wilds
  16. No idea how fast it will go. when I'm GMing (well, in the style I'll be GMing in here, go look at BDB for a good example) I usually let my players set the pace. So it'll mostly come down to how active everyone is Also, Merlin sheet up soon(TM). I ran out of time and didn't want to risk my PC bopping this post when it ran out of power so the OOC shipped without her Merlin exists now. You should be concerned

  19. TTG Discord (TTG is here, I'm not going to bother re-covering the world info. Also I promise TPoS revive is on the way at some point, mostly waiting for BDB to cycle to the second dream) Tempest, the place where mortals can become gods. The people of Tempest strive to become weaklings, gods who are nothing more than celebrities with flashy weapons. But there exist many groups who know this folly and strive to overcome it. They are few, and they are small, but they are there. The most secretive of all these groups, moreso than even the fringe science groups, is the Round Table. The Round Table is a collection of mages led by the idiosyncratic Merlin, they seek to protect the existence of magic in Tempest from those who use the idiotic mech system to falsify their actual power. Unfortunately, this false power they reject is actually a lot stronger than any mage, so they remain hidden until such a time as they can overcome this power discrepancy. But remaining hidden may no longer be feasible. The Tenth God's appearance has sent many secret societies into disarray, and the Round Table is among them. In the chaos, a member of the Table defected to a science group and has been working with this group to combine mech and magic into one system. Not only does this risk exposing the Table to the rest of Tempest, but the defector is now better at go fish than Merlin, which is totally not fair. And also heresy, thus the term "witch." In the interest of protecting the Table, Merlin has decided to send a group of her most trusted allies to retrieve the Witch and destroy the scientist's research. This RP will be about that group. ~Magic~ Unlike mech users, mages do not get a suit of special armor to protect them and channel their power and must rely entirely on maintaining control in the moment. Mages rarely accumulate large amount of static Favor, as holding it is dangerous, and must thus find way of generating fluid Favor to maintain their powers. There are several schools of magic based on casting method, but mages are not restricted to learning magic within their school. So to keep track of relative power levels in each ability, the Round Table keeps a written record of what each member can do. There will be more information on this in the system and character creation area. Note that you can't control an entire "element" with a single statistic, pyrokinesis and pyrogenesis are completely different, for example. Casting: Simple to understand, this is how quickly a mage can cast their spells Concentration: The ability of a mage to maintain their concentration when casting. More concentration means more powerful spells Guarding: The ability to cast shields, illusions, and other defensive spells. Also covers your general defense field, a force field Manipulation: The ability of a mage to effect things that already exist. Telekinesis, telepathy, reality warping, weather manipulation, etc Conjuring: The ability of a mage to create magical effects separate from reality. Fireballs and other elemental magics, Supreme Aether: A powerful ability usually designated as an attack. A mage can trigger it by speaking the activation phrase when certain conditions are met. Not all mages spend the time to study and learn an Aether; it's a rather time consuming task and takes away from their other studies, and mages don't expect to be in combat very often Spark Ability: An ability more or less unique to each mage. A mage gains this ability upon casting their first spell, although it may be hard to discover what it is. Sparks usually fit the mage's personality or interests, and often solidify the path a mage wishes to take in their magic The schools are as follows: Natural: A simple school of magic focused on casting quickly and easily by internalizing and visualizing the effects of spells. Studying this school is good for Casting and Concentration Psychic: A school focused around manipulating the physical world using the mind. Studying this school is good for Casting and Manipulation Incantation: The school of incantation uses, well, incantations to cast their spells. It's often a slow process (Although fireball! is a popular spell). Studying this school is good for Conjuring and Concentration Summoning: A school that focuses on creating artificial allies, mindless automatons such as golems that will do your bidding. Studying this school is good for Casting and Guarding Meditation: A school focused on maintaining focus. Studying this school is extremely good for Concentration and Guarding ~Rules~ Keep calm. Things won't always go your way, don't freak out No metagaming. Your characters know very little about each other outside a few gatherings of the Table, a rather uncommon occurrence Try to keep Suism to a minimum. Instead of the default "no Sues" I'm going to keep in mind that Suism is a fluid concept and that there's no line where things go from "not-Sue" to "Sue." So instead, just try to keep yoursuelf in check. I'll certainly let you know if you go overboard No godmodding, powerplaying, and etc. The other generic RP taboos. Just because I'm not going out of my way to explain them doesn't mean you should do them GO FISH I mean, um, have fun and stuff ~System and Sheet~ I'm going to half port TTG's system and half port BDB's system. The former is a system used purely for comparison and reliant on RP. The other uses rolls as a success/failure device but not a hard and fast code. But most importantly, there will be a growth system (which is present in TTG but doesn't get used since TTG is built around max power already) Since mages use five stats instead of four, they get more variance in stats. However their stats are worth less (TTG max stats is 17, TFW maxes at 21) and they have much more trouble generating them And that should be everything, feel free to ask questions because I'm sure I forgot something
  20. The Unnoticed Girl The Wraith screeched wildly as it charged. It initially passed through Latens, but while inside Laten's arm, it solidified again. The space the Wraith entered as it swapped was destroyed, taking the arm with it. Everything from just above the elbow was simply gone, there wasn't even a grotesque stub, her arm just suddenly ended in a stream of White. It was extremely painful, but it wasn't the end the Wraith immediately followed up this attack with a slash at her gut, gouged out another spray of White. The pain and attacks caused Latens to slip and nearly fall off the ever-precarious ledge, but somehow she managed to retain her balance. ~~~ The War Girl The War Girl's technique half worked, she was propelled backwards as intended, but the Wasp managed to avoid her attack. It dashed forward towards her at blinding speeds. Unable to defend herself while in the air, she found her flight halted by a stinger in her back. The Black still had yet to consume the first room, so the War Girl still had time, but she couldn't be so risky against a foe that was faster than her. (OOC: The wasp got max on all three of its rolls this turn, in case you were wondering why you got wrecked there)

  22. Meta!Chronos Chronos decided not to grace Atton with a response. It sheathed Meta Knight's sword in his cape; as it did so, the gun vanished into thin air. It turned and answered Victoria, as she was the most recent one to ask the question they had all been asking. It remained endlessly frustrating that most beings couldn't simply know what they needed without it having to constantly explain itself. "I have brought you here to look for the Access Dispel." It said, "The Access Dispel is an item which can return creatures to their home reality. I need it because there is an infestation of creatures, similar to the one I currently inhabit, which have proved resistant to my power. I could deal with the incursion eventually, but this will be much faster and help prevent collateral damage." It then gave Hiroki it's attention again. "I have no way of knowing for certain, but chances are yes." It explained, "But due to their nature, I expect they're effected much less than my power. Mechs are a physical manifestation of Favor, which means they also have some physical properties. They don't entirely nullify Favor in the first place." Snow heard a crackling static inside her mind, she was versed enough in mental power to realize that this was not just any normal telepathy, but her mind directly being invaded. "Forgive my intrusion, Lady Ashford." Chronos said, "But your mind is rather powerful so I couldn't help but overhear. Do you mean to imply this has happened before?"
