  1. Exile and Fedora Exile's scribbles also did nothing to disrupt the symbols, they continued to emit fire even through her added markings. It seemed like nothing she did would cause the flames to even falter Meg Star Cannon "Hmm?" Merlin mumbled. She looked away from the cabinet followed Anemone's gaze to the boy. Anemone noticed that the boy had some sort of tag attached to his right wrist. "I really don't know." She said, "Some form of experimentation obviously, I don't know what kind. There might be a log somewhere in the machine's data if you have to know. But we should really only be looking for experiments involving magic right now." Amelia entered the room, now wearing an all-black jumpsuit and carrying no ring. It seemed she had dispelled her mech for the time being. "So, uh, what's in here?" She asked, "I've got you guys and... some kid on a desk? Anything else of importance?"
  2. Exile and Fedora Seeing no lines being emitted from the black symbols, Exile went ahead and tried to break through the lines. But although she cut into the wall, nothing changed with the lines. It seemed they wouldn't be removed so easily. The hall beyond Feardorcha's cell was short, quickly turning to point towards the center of the facility again. Mega Star Cannon "Those would be Ansuz's runes." Merlin told Anemone, "It's his Spark, it lets him infuse dormant spells into certain symbols. The symbols themselves are mundane, so I'm sure the runes barely give off any magical energy for you to see until they've activated." Merlin suddenly turned and shot open a door with a water blast. "Let's check out this room." She said, walking in. The new room had a large table against the left wall, on it slept a young boy, no older than twelve. He had a smooth, innocent face and hair so white it almost looked invisible in the white complex. He was clothed in a blue and red hospital gown. Tubes and wires ran to him from a machine next to the table. The machine had a display screen, presumably showing the boys vitals. Merlin ignored the boy, instead walking to the other side of the room and opening one of a pair of metal cabinets. It was full of various bottles of medication, all labeled with various bits of information that were likely gibberish to the group. The entire act seemed rather cold for Merlin, it was clear that discussing Ansuz's runes had upset her for some reason. Those Guys Bellona charged out with Gypsy in tow, reaching the relative safety of the outdoors. The rest of the group followed suit, Sense and Bartek taking up the rear. There was a short period of nothing, Gypsy seemed to regain his bearings at least enough to stand on his own. "I'm going to send a message to Merlin, warn her that Ansuz is here." He gasped. He sat down and shut his eyes, putting all of his energy into concentrating. But as he did that, a bright pink and blue glow emerged above the group. Looking up, they could see a large silver cylinder, easily five feet in diameter and over fifteen feet long. The end of the cylinder pointed towards the group was glowing with arcane energy. On the roof below the cylinder stood a girlish boy with brown hair and grey-blue eyes. He was in a white and blue jumpsuit, as well as a long coat of the same color scheme. He wore grey fingerless gloves on his hands and a simple black belt on his waist. Although his outfit was a bit different from normal he was clearly recognizable to everyone there. "Ansuz." Charity said aloud, the pain of betrayal evident on her face and in her voice. Up until this point there had still been a sliver of hope. Even though Gypsy seemed to think they were being shot at by Ansuz, they hadn't actually had a clear look at their aggressor. Now there was no question, the one who had been shooting at them, the one trying to kill them, had been the mild-mannered boy that Merlin had been bringing along to her lessons for the past four years. "I'll give you one chance: Surrender." He announced, "I'd rather not kill anyone else, not yet." His voice was quiet and feminine, and even held a hint of anguish, but there was a hard edge to it. That edge and the giant magical cannon made it so his threat made it through despite his otherwise soft voice.
  3. Alright to be absolutely clear: It can be shaped like a cat. But it cannot be made of flesh, behave like a cat, or otherwise resemble a cat in any way other than shape
  4. Oh yeah, definitely. You can also make cat-shaped things, just not cats
  5. Katsuo Katsuo thought about not liking bars. He thought it very long and hard. Getting dropped off here with the book idiot wasn't helping either. He wouldn't have minded if it had been someone worth caring about, but here he was basically just sitting and waiting for something that mattered to happen. In other words he wasn't going to be of much use without a fight. Gwaedu seemed to be sleeping, she did that sometimes. She was doing it more and more often recently. He was worried something might be wrong. Not that he could do anything to check, nobody was around to run diagnostics for him. If she failed he was more or less on his own, no way he could wake Lleaud without her.
  6. Mega Star Cannon "Together? With this bitch?" Merlin and Amelia asked in unison. They then both proceeded to giggle like schoolgirls. "I suppose it would be for the best." Merlin said between giggle fits. "I can't call Bear though, so if he finds your other team first, well..." Amelia said after she finally calmed down. Merlin shrugged, "Gypsy's with them, I'm sure they'd be fine." "Implying Gypsy can even get Bear out of his first stage." "Implying Gypsy can run from Bear in his first stage." Amelia turned towards Ice, "You there, the... Young girl? Tweenshit? Whatever. Glaring frozen daggers at me, stop that, it itches." "Oh don't mind her, she's just annoyed that you completely ignored her hard work." Merlin interceded, "For now, we should keep exploring. Exile's gone ahead to free our captured companion, if you don't mind walking at a normal pace for a while then I'd be slightly less unhappy with your presence in this facility." "Well, I don't have anything better to do." Amelia shrugged, "Lead the way." With that said, Merlin marched off down the corridor, Amelia following behind. They continued talking casually as they went, again seeming to forget the importance of what they were doing.
  7. Mega Star Cannon Amelia shot through the hall again, the power of the current behind her knocked the otherwise unprepared Exile to the ground. It seemed not being the target didn't mean Exile wasn't in any danger at all. But she was far from the real danger. Amelia barreled towards Chernobyl's shield, showing no signs of stopping whatsoever. There was another thundercrack as a sonic boom went off, smashing into the shield alongside a rush of wind. What did not smash into the shield was Blink, who seemed to have simply disappeared. There was half a second of nothing, and then Blink reappeared past the shield and Chernobyl, it was possible she had been slowed, but it sure as hell was by much. A mere blink of the eye and she was stopped, but not by the ice. and spikes. She was perched just like she had been before, but this time her fist was inside the forehead of a screaming Merlin. "I win." She insisted, "Now are you going to tell me what you're doing here or do I have to keep doing this until you pass out?" Merlin barely managed to choke out an answer through her screaming. It was unclear what she said, but Amelia withdrew her hand. "How?" Merlin gasped. "What, were you expecting me to slow down so I could go around that little barrier? Maybe even be slow enough to lose control sliding over all this ice you've got here?" Amelia answered snarkily, "Not even close baby. Now, fucking spill." "One of my students." Merlin sighed, "Ran off during the commotion with all the Plane of Nil stuff. Beat me at Go Fish too." "What?" Amelia interrupted in shock, "You're shitting me." "I'm not!" "Well damn, I can see why you'd chase them, but that doesn't warrant a whole strike team." "No, that was the part where he's sharing magic with Carls." "Yeah, that makes sense. How'd you find the place?" "I've known where it was for a while." "True, they're not too secretive with this one. It seems dead to the world though, outside that angry rumbling that happened earlier, did you guys take out a wall... or several?" "No, that's the fight happening with our other force. Anyways, your turn, why're you here?" "Trees, someone's been killing off farms in Envy, traced it here, Bear invited me over to have some fun." Merlin and Amelia seemed to have gotten caught up in talking to each other; despite talking about why they had come to the facility, they didn't seem to remember what they were supposed to be doing.
  8. Yeah, that, doesn't work. At all. If you'd like you can make cat-shaped summons out of basic elements, but that's as close as I can get you Komodojoe, this also applies to your stuff. As long as you understand that summons are limited in complexity, refining summons is totally okay Yami is accepted
  9. Those Guys While Bellona was arguing with Sense and Bartek, another two laser blasts struck Bartek's shield. Charity, who had otherwise not spoken before this point outside casting spells, finally spoke up. "Would you all just stop fighting!" She said angrily, "Whatever we do, we need to all do it, if we sit here arguing we're just going to die." Yet another blast smashed into the barrier, causing Bartek to falter. Bellona finally relented and backed out into the hallway. Bartek followed after, escaping through the door just as the next blast smashed his barrier to bits. Gypsy coughed again, but didn't seem to have the energy to say anything.
  10. Mega Star Cannon No caster, just magic. There was no way, unless... But he couldn't, he would have had to know she was coming. No, of course, of course he would know. "Shitting hell." she cursed, "Alright idiots, new plan: Get out. I'll rescue Feardorcha." But before anyone could move, a thundercrack resounded through the hall, followed shortly by a blast of air. Merlin quickly lifted up her hand to shield her face. Not from the sonic blst, but from what can after. A streak of black and silver shot into view and halted by Merlin's face. A short tomboyish blonde attached to a silver ring had her fist stopped by Merlin's hand, or rather, by a concentrated telekinetic push. "Hello Amelia." Merlin said cheerfully. "Mermaid, what the fuck are you doing here." The girl, Amelia it seemed, sounded more like she was stating a fact than asking a question. "You know I'm not going to tell you that." Merlin said, her cheer faltering momentarily. "And you know that if you don't I'll ruin your day, even if you can block a Phase Punch, you can't deal with my signature." "In such a narrow space, against so many people? Or wait, did you not see that I had friends with me?" "You bitch." Amelia sneered, clearly upset by Merlin's statement. "Mirror~!" Merlin sang. There was silence for a moment as Amelia glared angrily at Merlin. "Oh, uh, right." Merlin said awkwardly. "Regardless," Amelia said, outnumbered or not, I can still beat you with my eyes closed." Merlin snorted. Amelia laughed. Merlin laughed back. There was much laughing to be had between them. Having missed the joke, the rest of Mega Star Cannon could do no more than look on in confusion. And then they both went silent again. "I'm still going to kick your ass." Amelia said. "You can try." Merlin taunted. Amelia retracted her hand and latched it into her disk before shooting off down the hall. Merlin bent over with her hands on her knees and let out a sigh of relief. "Whew, good thing she went for the Punch." She said, "I wouldn't have stood a chance if she'd just barreled over me." She stood back up to her full height and started directing the rest of the team. "She'll be back any moment, we have to be quick." Merlin explained, her tone deadly serious, "We have to hit her, any hit will win the fight, but if we fail any of our attacks then she'll immediately take down anyone who makes an attempt. Chernobyl, set up a barrier towards the hall. It won't stop her, but it will force her to slow down. Anemone, you do the same but the other direction, just in case. Exile, illusions won't help here, solid or otherwise, so I want you to go and try to rescue Feardorcha. She'll most likely ignore you to come for me and clean up the trash after the fact. Finally, Ice, when she gets back I need you to do everything in your power to make her slip. Freeze everything. If she slips I'll follow up with an attack and we can be done. If I fail then I'll need you to take on the attacking role as well when she makes her next pass." Most likely they were about to find their asses handed to them on a silver platter, but Merlin refused to just give up. She and her students would find a way to win, they had to, before Ansuz made both Merlin and Blink look the fool.
  11. Mega Star Cannon Merlin was already headed for the next room when she heard Anemone talking about Feardorcha. She spun on her heal and trotted back. "He went and got stuck somewhere?" She asked curiously, "That's odd, he was basically invisible. Is there another caster around?" It was a safe bet that some of the scientists in the Carls facility had been learning from Ansuz. They might not know a lot, but it wasn't beyond the realm of possibility to master a single capture spell. And perhaps if they had someone with a Spark similar to Anemone's, then they could train that person to catch one of the group and take them hostage. Feardorcha would have assumed he was completely safe and then suddenly he's frozen in ice. He was great for spying, but would perform poorly in combat, even a simple metal cage would likely hold him.
  12. Those Guys Another laser collided with Bartek's wall, but it proved unbreakable. Sense's wood chips didn't have enough power behind them to even reach their target, but his emotional assault made its mark. It seemed to delay the next laser a little bit, but not by much. A second laser blast collided with Bartek's shield, but it still stood firm. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Charity chanted, causing a bright golden glow to form around Bartek. Despite Bellona's immense telekinetic strength, she was unable to pull any rock and soil out of the floor or the ash and dust beneath it. Forge managed to rescue Gypsy from the room, and just in time. Another blast tore though Bartek's shield, knocking him down. Thanks to Charity's ward, he managed to survive unscathed. "Re-" Gypsy coughed, "Retreat. We need to get out of here so I can warn Merlin that Ansuz is here."
  13. Fedora Feardorcha stepped forward, feeling oddly, as though he were missing something. He didn't have to wait long to find out what. Another symbol had been covering the floor in front of him, scrawled in a silvery white so as to be almost invisible if you weren't looking for it. It now glowed bright red and bring red lines lanced out from it to the more visible symbols. Bars of fire shot out from the symbols, sealing Feardorcha in place. (OOC: Anemone can probably detect this BTW, he's not very far) Mega Star Cannon Merlin came over to observe Ice's findings. She looked at the tree and the tag, trying to discern what was up. After a short while she nodded solemnly to herself. "This tree is so sad. So sad..." She mumbled. She continued studying it a while longer before suddenly standing at her full height. "Age manipulation." She announced, "Not magic though, so I don't really care. I don't think we're going to find anything useful in here, we should move to the next room." A loud rumbling suddenly permeated the entire building. It was a bit more noise than she'd asked for, but it seemed their distraction was well at work. She waited for a message from Gypsy to let her know, but nothing came through. Hopefully that meant he was just busy with fighting and not that something had gone wrong. Gypsy would handle it, she had to cover her side of things so his efforts weren't wasted. Those Guys Gypsy himself walked to the center of the metal cabinet room and gave the area a look. His eyes widened when he saw the symbol on the wall. There was only one person who would use a symbol like that. "Out! Out now!" He yelled. But it was too late, the wall opposite the symbol disintegrated. Gypsy only had half an instant to react, he smashed his hands together, a gesture which helped him focus, and teleported Forge, Bartek, Sense, and Bellona out of the room. A massive pink and blue laser beam tore through the room with a roaring thunder, engulfing Gypsy. The laser slowly petered out and Gypsy could be seen again, kneeling in pain and surrounded by a soft glow which quickly faded away. "...refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed." Charity finished, having cast a general protection spell just in time. The symbol on the wall now glowed in bright red, implying that it was active in some manner. Whatever it was, it seemed to have absorbed the laser, preventing a massive hole from being torn in the wall. The other wall was now gone, replaced by a long hallway made of other former walls. At the end of this destruction there was a large round... something with a person standing beside it. The round thing seemed to be glowing with the same pink and blue energy as the laser. It was plain to see that the metal cabinets had been a decoy to set up the group at the end of a firing range. Worse, that attack had more or less put Gypsy out of commission. There wasn't much time to figure out a solution either, it seemed like another blast could come any second.
  14. Feardorcha The marking appeared perfectly innocuous, simply scrawled on the wall with a black marker. Even leaning in to observe it seemed to do nothing. Mega Star Cannon While checking out the trees, Ice noticed something odd about one of them. Its bark looked like it was peeling off, even dying. The tag on it had a green mark. Those Guys Forge opened the cabinets to reveal... A single bottle of medication in one of them and nothing else. It made some sense to store chemical medication in a safer location. But multiple cabinets for one bottle and no locks on any of them, it was a total waste.
  15. Those Guys The room Bellona found was largely empty outside a few metal cabinets in one corner. It was curious that the cabinets were metal, metal couldn't be farmed like wood. There must have been something of importance in them. Most of the walls were bare, but the one on the left had a large symbol that looked a lot like a letter B on it

  17. Feardorcha snuck along in perfect silence. The deflection spell was easy to maintain and combined with his Spark it seemed unlikely he would be discovered. He turned a corner and found that the bright white hallway dimmed slightly. There were strange markings on the walls here. It seemed dangerous but there were no people so he didn't necessarily have to turn back Sense Surprisingly, the door opened without any trouble. Inside was a mass of scientific equipment but seemingly nothing else of interest.
  18. (OOC: Since I know it's going to come up, if you want clarification on your role, please do poke me on Discord) Team Mega Star Cannon Merlin (Leader/Nuker) Anemone (Tactical Support) Ice (Nuker) Exile (Nuke Guard) Feardorcha (Forward) Chernobyl (Tank) Team Those Guys Gypsy (Leader/Comms) Forge (Tactical Support) Charity (Nuker) Sense (Nuke Guard) Bellona (Forward) Bartek (Tank) Those Guys Crouched inside the doorway of a rather large, hexagonal institution, the barren plains of the Plane of Sloth spread lazily out to the horizon. The group was uncertain of themselves and uncertain of each other, most had only met each other a few times before when Merlin called the entire school together. This time had been different, she had only called those who had reached a certain threshold in their magic training. It was good to have Gypsy and Charity in the group, according to Merlin most of the more powerful mages has gone to ground after hearing of Ansuz's betrayal. They could perhaps be considered cowards, but Merlin didn't seem to blame them. "Merlin says she's in position." Gypsy said, breaking the silence that had lingered in the group, "Bellona and Bartek, take the lead, and be ready. The instant we find people we start breaking things, draw as much attention as possible. We're just trying to make noise and buy... ugh ...'Mega Star Cannon' time to infiltrate. Forge, when we get into a fight, try to stay out of it and sneak some metal past the enemy deeper into the base and keep up watch for reinforcements." Inside the entrance was a long white hall with various wooden doors scattered across it. Most of them had small glass windows, through which could be seen empty laboratories full of machinery, plants, and the occasional unconscious child. If they could successfully clear the facility, the Round Table would rescue the children and take them in. For now the group would just have to search the halls in hopes of finding a way to make a commotion Mega Star Cannon Hiding outside one of the building's other entrances was Merlin's team. Still uncertain, they were made more comfortable by the fact that their strange and disarming teacher was leading them. Still, they barely knew each other and now they were being asked to infiltrate a facility that could be full of danger. "Alright idiots," Merlin announced, "Gypsy's team is moving in, we're following. Feardorcha, put on your most generic face and keep up a deflection illusion. Then scout the hallways, if you see anyone, immediately retreat back to the main group. Anemone, keep on the lookout for illusions. Unfortunately, there's going to be traces of magic in basically every room, so unless you sense a large buildup don't bother mentioning it. The rest of you will just be helping search and hoping you're not needed for anything more. Our goal is to search as much of the facility as we can in as little time as possible while Those Guys distract them." Despite her cheerful tone, it was obvious by how clearly she dictated orders that Merlin was taking this very seriously. The hall was just like the one on the other side, white with scattered doorways. Feardorcha went ahead down the hall while the main group ducked into one of the labs. The lab seemed to have been turned into a forest. A few dozen small trees in clay pots filled it from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. It was a strange sight to say the least, seeing such a large grouping of trees outside of ancient photographs. Each tree seemed to have a number on it, alongside a small dot in either green or red, presumably indicating something to do with success or failure. (OOC: Deflection illusion, as in the sort of illusion that makes you "less noticeable" to the point where even people looking directly at you won't take note of you without good reason)
  19. Nobody cares about gender, as long as you survive it doesn't matter. The wealthiest families get to live week-to-week instead of day-to-day. Even the gods often struggle. The exception is Gluttony, where anyone who works hard is pretty much set since like 90% of the jobs are all about creating food This is the Natural school bonus but with a tiny buff to physical attributes. Just making sure you know and are okay with that As previously discussed, Forge is a go
  20. *Doots* Hey, since this caused a rather large influx of players, I made a TTG discord so we could stop spamming the Tresspassers Discord with it. ...Well, probably not stop... Regardless, here it is: https://discord.gg/nzBhsNE IC post coming later tonight/tomorrow morning. I'll go over sheets at least once more before then, possibly more, and try to get people who are finished into the first RP group Magic Your sheet doesn't make any mention of summoning before this, and this makes no mention of giving her summoning powers in and of itself. As written now, this will give her a +2 bonus to Manipulation when using Manipulation based summons to do things. I highly recommend remedying this Ah, was waiting for one of these *because of or *alongside Rejected? What for? Oh, I see. You, uh, probably need to work on your idea of impure. All you have is inversion magic. And Merlin would most certainly not accept her as she is. Merlin can do shy, Merlin can do quiet, Merlin cannot and will not do angsty. If you're angsty and you're here, it's because she was worried you'd make a mess if she left you alone Concentration doesn't bar you from adaptation at all. Concentration gives you stability on your casts, stronger spells require more Concentration to avoid backfiring. If you have absurdly high Casting and no Concentration you're giving yourself a ton of opportunities for your spells to backfire unless you have a Spark or special strategy to patch the weakness Evasion and illusions are both Guarding, although some forms of mobility can be worked into Manipulation and Conjuring if you're clever about it No on the light to dark thing. Heat to cold is fine. Fog is weird but probably works. Oh, also, all but two Planes in Tempest would be considered "dim" neither light nor dark, just grey. Attribute inversion is a thing you can have, but it's a very weak ability and can't change something into something else, only modify the traits of that thing This is fine, but also not likely to be useful Define dark. +2 to Casting for doing things you would already be doing is fine, but in this case it's very vague about its condition You're going to cry. But you 100% cannot summon living things. At all. Ever. Cats count as living ...I'll, uh, let you figure out what to do about that before I say more
  21. *Doots* Hey, since TFW caused a rather large influx of players, I made a discord so we could stop spamming the Tresspassers Discord with it. ...Well, probably not stop... Regardless, here it is: https://discord.gg/nzBhsNE
  22. (OOC: Sorry for the delay, didn't expect TFW to explode like that) "Very well then- Oh, one moment." Chronos began, but immediately cut itself off. The edge of the horizon flared up in fire, it would have looked rather pretty had the entire world not matched its flame. It slowly died back until the horizon was back to simply being dull orange. Once it finished, Chronos resumed speaking. "Alright, as I was saying, it seems your all in favor of the puzzle." It said, "So allow me to share what I know of it. The buttons are clearly a number pad, one to nine. The text on it is a pair of numbers and instructions to input a six digit number on the pad." Chronos used Meta Knight's sword to engrave the numbers on the ground so the group could read it: 20408122449 7 "You'll forgive me." Chronos apologized, "But the solutions for these puzzles are specifically made invisible to me. I do know that once you solve it then it will retract for a while, allowing you to access the teleporter inside." (OOC: So once you figure this out OOC, you have to make up a good excuse for how your character solved it IC. Being a robot means you get it instantly Good fun have luck EDIT: AND IF YOU GOOGLE DO NOT SHARE YOUR RESULTS WITH SOMEONE OOC UNLESS ASKED)
