  1. Ok, final thoughts on the fall shows that are ending now that I was watching. This season I wasn't watching much but I think they were P good. Rakudai: Overall this show kinda feels like it pulled tropes out of a hat and then handed them to someone competent, who did their best with a limited timeframe and budget. The main difference between this series and other clones of it's genre is the romance. The main couple are actually a main couple, not a couple of people dancing about in a will-they, won't-they harem. The initial characters I suspected would be the harem components ended up getting some decent depth and development bar maybe one character and a whole bunch of side characters, though that's fine. They're side characters. Animation-wise, it holds up to today's average standards. Distinct yet familiar character designs, empthasis on smooth fight scenes and generally pretty backgrounds with some ecchi scenes sprinkled in. What made this show stand out to me is the opening animation and how it blends into the finale of the series. Whilst some of it came off as obnoxious and cliche a tad, such as the use of grey for am oppressive atmosphere and the burst of colour when everything is fixed and the MC gets back on his feet, it's unique and not something you see from your standard fare. I'd say watch it if you're looking for something to kill time with is my verdict. OPM: I got everything I wanted from this series and then some dear lord. I got a laugh out of each episode, whether it's due to Saitama's antics and expressions or the shit some of the other characters pull, it was a brand of humour I really liked. The series is also incredibly self aware and works to parody the superhero/shounen genre whilst also providing a good example of what it is parodying. Kill la kill style/ Animation, well, I feel like Madhouse saw the UnlimitedBudgetWorks on the horizon a long time ago and decided they needed something to match it. Dear lord did they do that. If you haven't seen it, go watch it just for the fight scenes. Madhouse came through. I'd talk abouk Iron blooded Orphans but that's continuing into next season, so 'll talk about that there when it does finish.
  2. I don't think you know the terror of breasts appearing on your screen like an erotic jumpscare

    1. Raindrop Valkyrie

Those would be some pretty conflicting emotions I'd imagine.

  3. Emberly, Claude Claude simply grinned as Whisper vied to be petted, feeling the pokemon's soft fur beneath his fingers as he rhythmically petted her behind the ears. He hoped the rhythm might help to induce some sort of familiarity that might continue to calm Whisper down. "You really put in a lot of effort taking care of Whisper, huh? Her coat is supremely soft. It's almost a shame you're a Trainer. Until she evolves Whisper could probably hold her own in a contest battle fairly well on her appearance. And, of course, if she does evolve then she'll have the majesty that I imagine most Arcanine do. The kind that earned them the species name 'Legendary'" Claude commented earnestly. He didn't have the kind of eye an experienced coordinator or breeder might have but he certainly knew a pokemon that was taken are of when he saw one.
  4. Claude, Emberly Claude wanted to dissolve into a puddle of squealing coordinator as Whisper slowly came out of her shell. What he actually did was follow Drake's instructions, still being careful and clear in what he wanted to do. He held out his hand to Whisper, as though he was offering his hand to shake another instead of for the Growlithe to sample his scent. "It's nice to meet you Whisper." Claude said. Doux watched in curiosity, his attention focused on Whisper.
  5. Oh lord almghty, the OPM versus Boros animation was just on poin, dear lord

  6. Ok, I downloaded it. Then started playing TERA and They bleed pixels. It uh, yes it went onto the backburner
  7. Aces in the hole- Was gud. I can see it being different each year based on who knows who more, you know? Also encourages people to get to know each other better, kinda. Reborn Royalty, cool as ever. SHIA took my place cri even though idk why I had polar monarch in the first place Secret santa, would have been better if it was done in it's own little bit and didn't clash so horrible with the Reborn Royalty. Like, that was chaos man, reading chat was hard. Dubtrack, I'd say it went fairly well. There were some goofs, kinda went off track when anyone who asked got DJ, seriously we didnt need to lock the queue at that point, the only issue came up when we shifted away from the open queue iirc. Still generally fun, everyone put their best foot and memes forward for tunes. And @Aquawaffle, if things are to improve for next year then give some reason behind your accusations so I can NOT do whatever annoyed you next year, though I'm fairly sure it's because I skipped that one monster hunter song that was just screeching. We don't have to take potshots by vagueposting, we can deal with things maturely. Queens game. As good as last year. Shame that RNG and time constraints meant not everyone could ask or get asked of but hey, whaddya gonna do? Also boo on the people who asked tame questions. You could get the same answers by looking at intro threads >.> Kings game was really just meh for me, but that wasn't the fault of anything other than timings. It was late in the night, I was tired af and all the lewd crap going on just went right over my head as I burrowed under my duvet. Maybe if I was more directly involved it would have been better but I was too tired to jeer the participants and didn't get picked myself. Again, nothing can be done about that, I know. I can't even say I would have enjoyed KG more if the party started two hours earlier, that still would have meant KG would have started at 3am for me after the QG Oh, and the Rebornies. Yeah, kinda just happened by the wayside whilst focus was on the QG. Best suggestion for next year is better scheduling. 3 1/2 games for QG was so long and it was inevitable people might be missed out anyway. Idk, just my two pence.

  9. Is that a reboot or straight continuation like fairy tale was?
  10. Sure. You seem like fun guys and it'd be nice to have a place outside of lobby, you know? Battling wise, I'm middle of the crowd in just about anything. I have a passing familiarity with most mons in each tier but not team comps or any of that. I'm the guy who might fluke a win against a genuinely good player 5 times out of ten.

  17. I always wanted to write something more action oriented. Unfortunately it feels like the best genres for the kind of Team X vs Team Y matchup fightiiing that I wanna do is taken up. Superhero, supernatural, fantasy. God knows Anime is over saturated with this kind of formula. So I think I'm going to try an urban setting with some sci-fi(?) elements scattered about instead of superpowers a la Worm. The Sci-fi is really just going to be a way to facilitate the stupid things the characters are gonna be doing. But I want some more input from other people if possible. I started off with a first person narrative but that doesn't mean I can't branch out and take it to other people's viewpoints. So, I ask, do you prefer single viewpoint narratives or multiple character viewpoint narratives? Anyway, here's the prologue. Very little information really. I'll be updating this thread f I write more. Prologue: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_RntxUP4hIA5MnRTfH4vBglp1qeqHsCe2BTwamJZOlU/edit?usp=sharing
  18. I mean, I was going to say Disgaea but you beat me to it. Seriously, Disgaea has a lot of bang for your buck, a lot of replayability and content, provided story isn't a BIG thing for you. I found Disgaeas story to be a formality and the gameplay the biggest focus. Think Fire Emblem SRPG shticks but no permadeath and a difficulty scale that rises exponentially. Then keeps rising, because the game goes up to lvl 9999.
  19. If no one interacts with Azery I'll throw Oswald around
  20. I'd get my shit kicked in for having a pair like that. So I'm going to buy a pair and blast annoying music, just to spite the people who would do the kicking.
  21. Claude sighed as Doux chirped. Doux recognised the tall pillow from before and if Claude had not been holding him Doux would have roosted once more. Instead Doux looked at the pokemon in the pillows arms. He was immediately enraptured in just how adorable the puppy was and wanted desperately to fly over and play with Whisper. Doux even went so far as to use the pleading expression he reserved for when he really, really, really wanted something. Claude was unaffected though as he looked down at his partner. It was a bit unnerving, having Drake practically loom over him as she leant down to look at Doux but he shook the feeling away quickly. He glanced up at her apologetically. "I'm sorry if Doux caused you any trouble. He's kind of impulsive in a relaxed kind of way, if that makes any sense. Whimsical, I think is the best way to say it? Must be why the evolution is called Whimsicott, huh? I once had to go out in Lumiose calling his name because he literally dcided to go with the wind and didn't come back by dinner time." Claude scratched the top of Doux's head lightly, to his pleasure. "You're a little ratbag, aren't you Doux?"
  22. "Nothing sounds stupid if you say it the right way. Try vocal exercises, get the throat humming. It'll definitely help in battle when calling out commands." Claude recommended, acting as though he had experience. Really he had been to one meeting of a few minor actors trying their trade in Lumiose whilst offering classes but Drake didn't know that. Meanwhile a Cottonee, curiosity now sated, returned to his trainer. Dooux announced his arrival with an exuberant, shrill cry. Claude smiled before the realisation that the sudden noise would probably scare Drake's Whisper. He quickly beckoned Doux down and hugged the pokemon tight to his own chest, putting a finger to his lips to indicate Doux should be quiet. The chirping then became a small series of murmurs as the Cottonee was simply unable to contain the feeling of joyous fun he wanted to share with Claude. "Yes, hello to you too Doux. You sound like you had fun. Where did you get off to?"
  23. Claude scratched his head absently. Not too strange I guess. Maybe she just has a real weird smile. Easily as that, Claude dismissed the notion and focused on something else Drake mentioned. "I guess I understand some of that, though there's one thing you got wrong. I don't like the competition between coordinators, I love having the spotlight for Doux and I. The rush of nerves and fear and joy when you get up in front of a crowd is like the drop of a roller coaster, except it lasts all through your performance. It's intoxicating." Claude found himself gushing easily. Memories of his first time showing off what Doux could do to the few townspeople, the applause from the crowd when he acted on the stage of his old school play. The sense of having a crowds attention locked onto him was genuinely one of the best feelings he had ever experienced. He loved it. He wanted more.
