  1. Jessica slowly wandered forward through the woods, constantly on the lookout. A cold wind quickly passed... Jessica was chilled, and wondered where the wind came from. The forest was not a very windy place, so it must have been caused by something, or someone... Another breeze passed, even colder than before... "I'm sure now, this is something supernatural. I'd best get moving." She started walking faster. Her heart started beating faster, too. Some sweat dripped down, even though it was cold as the night. Something was approaching... Jessica heard it first. Then, she could see it. A horde of Trevenant stormed away, seemingly fleeing for something. Maybe it was because of the winds. Maybe it was because of something else. Trevenant were not normally ones to flee. This was probably a sign for her to flee too. Jessica turned around and started going back...
  2. Honey can be bought at the flower shop in the Lapis ward for thousand bucks a piece. Honey is damn expensive.
  3. Slakoth had made himself at home in the split rock, peacefully napping on a small plant and snoring lightly. Jessica would not awaken him, as that might ruin his mood. Slakoth had smelled the area and assumed nobody was there, but Jessica still couldn't shake the feeling they were not alone. She would rather go and investigate than go to sleep right now. She walked out to the woods, leaving Slakoth behind in the gap rock. "I will return later when i know i'm not in danger. Better safe than sorry, they say. Maybe I can even find some food too..."
  4. There are several problems with the Reborn League outside America. In this thread, I will address the problems, carry out several solutions, list their pros and cons, and give my opinion. The problem: Because of time zones, the league hours (8-12 PM) are only fit for American players: -The league hours are too late in Europe (about 2 am) so the Europeans can't join the League -The league hours are too early in Asia, when most people are on the workplace/school so they often can't join either. This means that only the Americans can easily join the League, while the Reborn League should be something that can be shared and enjoyed by everyone. As a European, I will try to create an amazing Reborn experience for Americans, Europeans and Asians alike (and everyone else, of course)! The solutions: My Opinion All solutions have their pros and cons, so a clear, decisive solution isn't there. Having one additional, separate league for Europe sounds like the best idea to me, but that's probably because i'm European myself. If a separate League ever becomes a thing, I'd be happy to become a Gym leader. Final words There are probably other solutions out there. If you have one, or have an addition to one of my solutions, comment it below. This is just a list of solutions with my opinion. Finally, Ame decides whether or not any of these solutions are implemented. Good luck in the League.
  5. A lot of time had passed while venturing through the seemingly endless woods. Time, too, seemed end. Not that time was of importance, but it was more of a human habit to be concerned about the time. Jessica looked at Slakoth, and he seemed fine. He looked like he wasn't thinking about anything, or worrying about the future. She wondered too much, what would happen to her, and to Slakoth. And what was behind the calamities. Jessica and Slakoth had been traveling uphill, following the river where they started. The river seemed to flow from a large mountain range far away. If they'd go there, they'd probably get a view of the surrounding area, to find civilisation and other survivors along the way, maybe even find the source of the calamities that had happened lately. Slakoth probably didn't have the same idea, but he didn't have much to choose. Jessica's back had been aching more and more from walking for so long with a heavy load on her back. They stopped a while when they came across a large rock, which was split open sideways, the river's water flowing around it on both sides. The gap was pretty wide, and provided plenty of cover. Maybe they could have some rest here. However, Jessica still had the feeling they were not alone. If something or someone ambushed them while hiding, they would be trapped and surely dead. Maybe Slakoth could make the decision whether or not to stay here. His instincts proved to be trustworthy...
  6. Fern is a Grasshole. I picked Cain because he's fabulous.

    PP Up

There is one under the Grand Stairway, where you get the Mining Kit. It's in a wall to the left, almost immediately after entering the area.
  8. Jessica watched Slakoth as he managed to hold off the Trevenant, albeit in his own way. "Well, that worked. Thank you, little guy" Jessica picked up the berries she had dropped, then the Slakoth, and ran away silently to prevent waking the creatures. She felt happy having met Slakoth, even though the way they met was quite disturbing. Although she and Slakoth were a lot different, they could get along quite well, she believed. Jessica followed the river she started at further into the forest. She thought that because of the calamities, there were probably other people here too. People that were forced to survive in the forests...

    treeko and turtig

As far as I know, the only Grass starters available outside of at the start are Bulbasaur and Chespin.
  10. Slakoth seemed to have taken its time eating the berry, but now Jessica knew the berries were safe to eat. After wiping some berry juice from Slakoth's chin, Jessica grabbed the berries from the bush, putting some to Slakoth, eating most herself, and also putting a few in her tight pockets. The process of eating was disturbed by a loud growling noise in a bush only a few steps away. And something was approaching... Two Trevenant(s?) had appeared after they had smelled the fresh scent of Pecha berries. Their eyes were deep red. Jessica sprang up in fear, dropping all the berries on the ground. She didn't know whether the Trevenants were hostile or just hungry. Her best bet was to pick up Slakoth and run, but maybe Slakoth had a better idea himself...
  11. Bushes with berries still on them were a rare sight in the forest, as there were so many pokémon dependent on them. After some searching, Jessica had found a bush of berries. They were pink and small in size. Jessica knew nearly nothing of berries, always just having been served dinner when she lived with her parents. Not knowing if the berries were edible, she sat down near a bush and put the Slakoth down next to her, which had almost fallen asleep while holding on her back. A loud noise of a bird sounded from a bush, but it sounded like it was too far away to be of a concern. She picked a few berries from the bush and held them out to the Slakoth, seeing if he would eat them. If he would, the berries were probably safe.
  12. Look very closely in the caves. Using a purple crystal changes the points certain caves lead to.
  13. Scorched Earth: The earth is blazing! -Moves that involve earth attacking the enemy (Earthquake, Earth Power, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb etcetera), as well as all offensive Fire-type moves, have a 50% chance to burn their targets. -No Pokemon can be frozen -Using Water-Type moves causes steam to rise, reducing the accuracy of all targets. -Removed by Surf. Maybe for volcanoes like Pyrous Mountain and Fire type gym battles?
  14. That could be, but there are still a lot of characters that haven't started yet. It would be better if they made a start instead.
  15. i did not know that, that is very useful to know. Thank you. I have already done some matches on Pokémon Online and it's going pretty well.
  16. How is the RP going? there hasn't been anything new for a few days...
  17. It might be best to swap Gorebyss and Cloyster around, but i already have Lapras as a Water/Ice type. Lapras is prone to being replaced anyway. Will do. I thought it would be an amazing tactic to stack Surf on my Pokémon to heal Toxy in Double Battles, but i'll probably change that. Assault vest for Armaldo is a good idea. I'll also swap Lapras for some pokémon that can do a priority move, as well as swapping maybe 1 or 2 other moves for priority moves. Thanks everybody. Also, i realized as i live in GMT+1, it is very difficult for me to get on during League Hours (it is in the middle of the night on weekdays, so that sucks...) EDIT: Version 1.1 is out!
  18. With the new season, I am going to take my first attempt to the Reborn League. This is my team. (credits to http://www.pkparaiso.com for sprites used): Toxicroak (F) @Life Orb Trait: Poison Touch Nature: Jolly (+Spd, -SpAtk) EVs: Attack and Speed Role: Offensive Lead/Physical Sweeper Taunt Sucker Punch Poison Jab Drain Punch Toxicroak is my offensive lead hero. He can quickly taunt an opponent setup hero, then take them out using his STAB moves. Sucker Punch provides some attack power against Psychic and Ghost types, as well as adding some priority attack power. Poison Touch allows for some status ailments, which the rest of my team lacks. Hydreigon (M) @Expert Belt Trait: Levitate Nature: Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk) EVs: Special Attack and Speed Role: Revenge Killer/Special Sweeper Earth Power Draco Meteor Heat Wave Dark Pulse Toxicroak and Hydreigon are best buddies. Let me explain to you why: -Hydreigon is immune to and powerful against Toxicroak's major threats: Ground and Psychic. -Toxicroak resists or is powerful against most of Hydreigon's major threats: Ice, Fairy and Fighting. In Double Battles, this means they can work together perfectly. In Single Battles, they can easily switch in on their buddy's weakness moves and take out the Pokémon that causes them. Cloyster (F) @Leftovers Trait: Skill Link Nature: Careful (+SpDef, -SpAtk) Evs: Attack and Special Defense Role: Bulky Attacker Ice Shard Shell Smash Rock Blast Icicle Spear Cloyster takes Gorebyss's role as a Shell Smash user, adds a priority move and all-round bulk. Lucario (M) @Choice Band Trait: Justified Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) Evs: Attack and Speed Role: Revenge Killer/Priority Attacker/Physical Sweeper Bullet Punch Extreme Speed Swords Dance Close Combat Lucario takes Lapras's place as an additional attacker, allowing sweet revenge kills with priority moves. Lapras's Water/Ice typing and defensive bulk goes to Cloyster. Gallade (M) @Lum Berry Trait: Justified Nature: Jolly (+Spd, -SpAtk) Evs: Attack and Speed Role: Main Physical Sweeper Swords Dance Leaf Blade Psycho Cut Rock Slide Gallade can use Swords dance to boost its Attack even if Gorebyss is down already. With a great coverage from 3 moves, Gallade can take on nearly any opponent in a fury of blades. Armaldo (M) @Muscle Band Trait: Battle Armor Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) EV: Attack and Speed Role: Offensive Rapid Spin/Physical Sweeper Rapid Spin Rock Slide Earthquake X Scissor Armaldo takes its role as a supporting physical sweeper, and a good user of Rapid Spin. Several questions for my improvement: Which pokémon should be altered/replaced? What battles of the Reborn League are double battles? Do you have any tips for me in competitive battling? Changelog: Old Pokés:
  19. Jessica saw the Slakoth reaching out to her in a friendly manner. She was never very trustworthy towards strangers, especially strangers who invade you by falling out of trees. But this pokémon might seem an exception, or at least someone to accompany her until she reaches safety. Jessica also doubted she could hold the combined weight of a Slakoth and of any food she found. But Jessica knew that taking risks was sometimes worth it. And trusting your instincts is often the best thing to do, especially when survival is involved. She held out her hands and picked the Slakoth up, putting him on her shoulder, almost dropping down the first time because of the weight. But slowly and steadily, she walked further into the woods, the Slakoth firmly gripped on her back. Finding food would not be an easy task, especially when danger lurks everywhere...
  20. The Slakoth seemed to have crawled up to her foot, which kind of hurt because of her wounds. He looked like he wanted something. Jessica couldn't figure out what exactly, but she assumed he was hungry. She tried to talk to the Slakoth: "I know you won't understand me, but i'll talk to you anyway. My name is Jessica. I'm a human from the town up far, although it is not really a town anymore. Something terrible has happened, and I think i was the only one to survive. Anyway, pleased to meet you." Jessica's stomach made a grumbling noise. She was starving and couldn't take any food when she left, so she had to find food. Jessica spoke to the Slakoth again: "I'm hungry. I think you are hungry too. I am going to find some food. Hopefully, i will bring some back. If you stay here, you can have some too." Jessica stood up, preparing to leave for a while in search of food. Just before leaving, Jessica stood and looked at the Slakoth, which had remained on its spot for most of the time, waiting for some sort of corfirmation...
  21. Jessica had not slept much that night, but now she tried to close her eyes once more. Her attempt to sleep was abruptly stopped, though, as a huge ball of fur dropped from the tree above on top of her head. Jessica jumped up and screamed, but shut herself quickly to not attract any unwanted dangers. What seemed like a huge ball of fur was actually a Pokémon, after Jessica calmed down to take a look. The Pokémon was lying on the ground where she had just tried to sleep. "I thought the monsters had me" she thought. "But you're just a Slakoth". "I knew i wasn't alone here." Jessica sat down near it and watched what it would do...
  22. After some time of traveling through the woods, Jessica noticed the sky getting darker and the moon rising in the sky. To get through the night she needed food and, more importantly, a place to sleep. She had never been farther than a few steps in the woods, and she was also not used to having to work to survive. She saw a small river leading into a cave of some sort and decided to set up her camp near the cave. She tried to set up a fire with several stones and twigs, but without any experience, it failed. Using a pile of leaves as a simple bed, she lied down. But somehow she couldn't fall asleep, even though she was tired of traveling. The strange noises started getting louder as well, and she was worried if she could survive the first night...
  23. Jessica realized she had been extremely lucky to survive. The others had not been as fortunate. But she knew that this was a sign to leave this place. She looked at her knee. It was a small wound, but leaving it open would be dangerous. She had to find a way to bandage it. She walked to the side of the ruins, near the forest. She found a large tree with thick leaves. She could reach a few of them, and knot them to use as a bandage. It was enought to last a while, but for it to cure, medication was needed. But in the village, there was only rubble, so she had to venture out in search of others. And the only way out was the forest. Jessica never liked the forest. She thought it was spooky, and the tales of tree-like Pokemon attacking traveling humans frightened her. But she had no other choice than to go through. She followed a small path covered with rocks and rubble into the forest...
  24. I chose for a human character anyway, because why not? I originally had in mind to play with 2 human characters, but i figured out that that would be too much trouble and that you guys wouldn't allow it anyway c: EDIT: does my character need to be confirmed to start the RP? Name: Jessica Falke Species: Human Age: 16 Appearance: Jessica is an average looking girl with long, light brown hair. She has a pale white skin. She wears a black skirt and top. Around her neck, she has a small amulet with a star sign, which was owned by her mother. She keeps it as a memory to her. The amulet sometimes glows for an unknown reason. (Jessica looks like the girl character in Reborn, but with a different hair color.) Backstory: Born as children of a scientist, Edward Falke, Jessica and her brother Samuel grew up in their father's laboratory, not often leaving it. With their father continuously experimenting, and their mother having left when they were still toddlers, Samuel and Jessica lived an isolated childhood. Samuel and Jessica did not really like each other , and they both lived their own lives inside the same building, not bothering each other much. At the start of the great Calamity, something terrible happened. Earthquakes destroyed the part of the town the Falke laboratory was located in, and the lab itself was completely ravaged. Samuel was with the other scientists when the earthquakes started. He hid under a corner in the dome wall, but he, as well as the other scientists, were crushed when the dome ceiling collapsed. Jessica was in her own room, and she hid under a table in the corner when the ground started shaking heavily. She hurt her knee and leg when rubble fell from above. After digging herself out, she walked across what was once her father's lab dome, and began searching for survivors. Her search was fruitless, as all that she saw was rubble. Personality Overview: Jessica is, in contrary to her father and brother, not as clever and intelligent. She is very direct and acts quickly. She is also very stubborn, which often makes her very harsh, even to her friends and herself. Due to her isolated childhood, she does not trust most people (and Pokémon) the moment she meets them. Still, she tries to find out what is behind the things that have been happening, what is behind her special amulet, and why her mother left her.
