  1. For the first time in a long while... Forum name: Acquiescence experience: moderate preferred: Roose Brigtborn least preferred: Forlorn Cool Thing: I can strip and reassemble a standard infantry rifle in under a minute IRL Fave setting: Magic Realism/Futuristic fantasy
  2. This just occurred to me: Since I play a Piriluk deck in WIXOSS, does that make me "Acqui-Lucky"?

I really don't know what WIXOSS is <.<

  3. Basically D&D Character Creation. But let's get the whole reroll concept rolling first before we start considering the next step XD
  4. Hmmm... I might actually be able to participate in one of these, since the level of required commitment is somewhat lower... hmm... Also, I assume that the notion of {Reroll} is that you can use the same setting and same characters in multiple rounds of RPing?
  5. ... no father should have to bury his son.

unfortunately the world we live in tends to think to the contrary.

  6. ;~~; I'll miss you QQ. Thanks for all your work managing Aftermath, and gratz on your placement in the school you wanted! I sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and, like others before me, will keep hoping that this isn't a "farewell", but merely a "see you in a bit." Good Luck!
  7. Hi! Read your first few bits of Chroma, I won't be using forum format quotes, I'll just be copypasting things and giving critique based on whatever I copy-paste. "Curious, I slowly ascended from my lying position to a weak, unbalanced stand. My back felt damp, as if I was sleeping on dew-coated leaves on a cold autumn’s morning. Below me I could see ripples along the ground, as if I were standing in a shallow puddle that stretched as far as the darkness would let me see." I think you're using the phrase "as if" too often in this case, it kind of breaks the flow. Unless you're going for a specific effect of literary parallelism, it would be better to employ metaphorical comparisons, or a different choice of phrases. For instance, I would write it as "Below I could see ripples along the ground, like it were a shallow puddle, stretching out as far as the boundary of darkness allowed." "too faint to make out at my current position" Grammatical issue here, it should be "From my current position", not "at". "After roughly ten minutes of wandering," Unnecessary and breaks the immersion. In a world described as such, you should have no way of being able to tell the time, so you probably don't want to allude to any form of specific timekeeping. "After a bout of wandering" is how I would begin this segment. "filling the area with a wickedly twisted and growing red aura." My problem here is choice of words. "Aura" is usually not a concrete concept and is generally thought to be unable to be perceived. Perhaps "Tint" or "shade" or even "light" would be better here. "though not by men, but of the beasts whose roars continued to ring around my head." Again, Grammar. It should be "not by men, but by beasts". Also, a comma placed after "beasts" would make the sentence flow slightly better. "I flinched back, slamming my eyes shut and ineffectively blocking my face with my arms." Personal opinion, but I think "ineffectually" would be a better choice of words here than "ineffectively".
  8. Touhoumon ver. 2015

Wow. I only played Touhoumon Firered aka Puppetplay 1.8 and I loved how balanced it was, with everyone having three split evolutions and that.

      And now this :D

      This looks interesting.

      Notice the sprite quality.

  9. I'll do it. Basically, every floor of the conclave requires an access card to enter. On each floor, the card is held by a random acolyte, on a duty roster, who stays on that floor. To get to the next floor, you either need to search all the acolytes for the card, or convince the holder of the card to give it to you. For reference, each floor has about 236 acolytes. The specific acolytes holding the key are determined by the host. Also, since it's duty-based, all the acolytes know who has the key on a specific day, so if you can get them to tell you...
  10. ...I just bought RPG Maker VX Ace. I'm going to regret this tomorrow...

  11. Ughh... You're right... HUKUNA MOTIVATE ME PLS
  12. Sakurasou was good. Very well-done character development with an extremely relatable and believable MC.

  13. Ooooooooooh custom character class. Would totally join this just to play the dancer/assassin/mahou shoujo character I always wanted! Too bad I just don't have the time to RP anymore QQ. Hope this takes off~
  14. @Dobby, go for the conclave. It will lead to better character development, and the others will be there to stop you going crazy. @DarkLight, go for the gym. Miki may be a strategic thinker, but she's also a very excitable girl. More than likely her anticipation of seeing Regice in battle would overpower her fear of a terrain disadvantage. Besides, you could always just work around said disadvantage.
  15. Hi Notus! You did a good job with the foreshadowing for Candice, it pretty much played out exactly as I'd hoped. I still remember grinning to myself when I penned down that development^^ Anyway, good job, keep it up!
  16. Hi all. I'm Acquiescence, also known as Acqui, Acqui-chan, Acq, occasionally Orpha, and to some people, "that-one-crazy-lesbian-girl-who-sits-around-in-chat-talking-about-decapitated-babies". Not actually sure when I started writing for fun, it's been a looooong time hobby for me. My genre of writing tends to fall into a blend of fantasy, romance and psychological trauma. My fave authors include Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charlotte Bronte, Douglas Adams, and my all time favorite, my idol, Oscar Wilde. I honestly have no idea what my strengths are, but people tell me I'm good at creating characters, so let's go with that. I do consider myself a moderately seasoned writer with some modicum of talent. In terms of weaknesses, my greatest would be a lack of commitment, I have a bad habit of not finishing stories, or procrastinating :x For instance, I've been sitting on Stratos' "Exodus Beyond Eden" prompt for my CW thread for like, a month. (Really terribly sorry about that >< I'll try to get myself to get back to it ASAP). I also am rather lacking when it comes to writing descriptive settings, or when creating minor plot events which do not directly contribute to my imagined overarching story direction. For works I've written, you can see a couple on this forum and the Roleplaying forum, as well as the three Vyker threads which have since faded into obscurity. I guess I'll follow along with everyone else and post a tiny extract from one of my prompted short stories.
  17. Just built me a new PC :D
