After close to ten minutes of uninterrupted staring, Natalie was still not looking Rein's way. Rein, slightly annoyed, decided to forsake that particular endeavour. As she scanned the room anew, she spotted Lilith - the young girl who had declared as Laylite late - sitting alone at a table in the corner of the hall. Deciding that Natalie would come find her later if necessary, Rein strode over to Lilith's table, sitting herself down across from Lilith. Without a word, she began tearing into her now-cold mashed potatoes.

Rein stared down the buffet, slightly unsatisfied. There was an inadequate amount of spicy food. Resigning herself to a lackluster meal, she silently scooped a veritable mound of mashed potatoes onto her tray. She didn't particularly mind meat, but the toughness of steak was slightly annoying, so she opted to forgo that. As far as beverages went, she saw nothing but the usual soft drinks, along with some kind of pinkish juice. Her heart sank a little at noting that coffee was not available. She took a glass of plain water and stood aside from the queues, looking around the hall for the girl who had passed her the note. The girl whose name had been the first at roll call - Lexi - was seated at a table with two other girls, Riley and Mary, if Rein's memory served correct. While she was watching, a girl, younger than Rein, approached the table and took a seat - Sharp, that was her name. Rein thought it a strange name, though she herself was in no position to comment. The four girls engaged in conversation, a rather lively one. She moved on to the next group. She noted one girl - Arturia - sitting at a table alone, then was slightly amused at her sudden dash back towards the food line. Perhaps she had decided on eating a bit more? Finally she saw the girl - Natalie - chatting with a large group across a table. They seemed to be engaged in some sort of serious discussion, which Rein preferred not to interrupt. As such, she simply stood there and stared right at the back of Natalie's head, waiting to be noticed.

I'm actually hopig for romance to develop, I've never written a description of someone slowly falling in love before, it would be a fun challenge~ Unless my mediocre writing ability screws things up :/

Rein finished the last few words of the chapter, then snapped shut the book. One chapter left. Her inability to finish the novel turned her mood slightly darker. She got up and joined the flow of students exiting the room, stowing her novel away in her bag.

It was lucky that the red-haired girl had stepped in. Karrin had been attempting to snatch away her book, and Rein was unsure of the extent of her retaliation if that were to happen. Rein bit her lip in annoyance as the red-haired girl, Natalie, spoke her name. She hated her name. Apparently the girl wanted to be her partner? Rein didn't particularly care much. She had no real preferences when it came to partners. That said, it was nice to have someone with power for a partner, and Natalie definitely held power. With the source of interruption having been addressed, she sat back down and opened up her book again. In the periphery of her vision, she noted a small slip of paper, written in elegant cursive: "See you at lunch, partner." Rein stared for a while. So Natalie was serious. She pocketed the note and continued reading.

Rein's lips twitched in irritation. Did this girl not know how to stop talking? Annoyed, she snapped the book shut and dealt with her irritation the way she knew best: without a word, she fiercely kicked the offender in the abdomen.

Rein glanced to her side. Karrin was still there, and still trying to start a conversation. Rein began to feel a tad bit irritated by the interruptions. Without glancing away from the book, she quietly replied, "Fairy tale." She was about to resume reading, then thought of something. She raised her eyes to Karrin's and added a request: "Reading. Quiet." She then turned back to the book. She was on the last two chapters, and she was determined to finish the book within the hour.

Rein ignored the girl - Karrin, she called herself - who materialised next to her, finishing the page she was currently on. She glanced up at the girl, taking in her appearance. Tall. Definitely older. Blonde hair that covered a vivid pink eye. She held eye contact for several seconds. Karrin's attempt at flattery and starting a conversation struck Rein as slightly juvenile, but it would have been too much effort to comment on it. Rein stared at the girl for a while more, then spoke in a soft tone: "Rein." Then she turned the page and continued reading.
