    Ryan could tell just by Kage's reaction that he already sensed Ryan's embarrassment. Not much point in hiding it, but not much point in revealing it now. Upon reaching the battlefields, Ryan whispered to Kage. "Act natural, pretend you're interacting with your pokemon and hopefully they won't notice. And with that, Ryan outstretched his arm as Feroces ran down it and leapt off his fist onto the ground. Ryan let Glacien roll out of his arms and down to the ground, bumping into Feroces, knocking him down like a bowling pin. Ryan chuckled and sat next to them. "Come join me." Ryan was smiling at how much he was already enjoying himself here.

    When it comes to battles, there must be a compromise between both battlers. Depending on the qualities, characteristics, stats, and movepools of the pokemon is the outcome of the battle. Take the battle between Ryan and Murdoc. Feroces was hit hard at the very beginning without a single complaint on my part. Same with when Feroces attacked al'Thor. There was no miss. Granted, because I was new at the time, I had at first thought that it would burn but after logical thinking, a 5-10% chance isn't really enough to burn on one hit. From that point on, it was a matter of tactics. Murdoc tried to trick me into taking the bait while I decided setting up would do me well. After that, you would think an elevated 210 pound beldum would destroy a shinx when it's at about 64% with that much moment. However, to even it out, I used a tactic in which Feroces preemptively used fire fang before catching al'Thor in his mouth to deal damage and result in the KO's of both pokemon. In the end, we compromised that we both deserved to win the battle so it was a tie. Basically, what I'm saying is, think logically. Don't say that your slakoth did a double flip, while pulling your enemy snorlax in the air and slamming it down for a 1 hit ko. Just use some logic, think about what a pokemon is capable of doing at that level. If it seems ridiculous, then don't use it. And don't dodge every hit thrown at you and make every status or side affect hit. Just think about it.

    Ryan's face lit up red at the emphasized mention of the word "ass." Shit, no, not this. Anything but this. "Ok man, let's go." With that, Ryan held open the door for Kage. His intentions not to be courteous to say. "Ok, let's go head back, hopefully we can sneak back in without being noticed."

    After swallowing one of his finger sandwiches, Ryan looked up at Kage and cocked an eyebrow. "Look, I know what you're thinking, but it ain't it. You already know I'm the first person to go running off and accidentally leaving someone behind too. I'm just trying to run off without leaving someone behind this time." That's a lie. Ryan took a bite of a Rawst berry before continuing. "I'm wondering if maybe we weren't supposed to leave yet, I saw no one but us around campus the whole time we were going to the store." Ryan swallowed another berry and sighed. "After we finish, we better get back over there just in case, I don't wanna get detention on day 2."

    Ryan did his signature reaction of cocking his right eyebrow at Kage's suggestion. "Excuse you, I'm not letting you pay for this. 100% my treat." And with that, Ryan was already hustling out of the building. Upon arriving at the food store, Ryan ran inside, envious of the multiple food items stocked. "So many different food, so many ingredients." Ryan gathered all that he wanted into a basket and brought it to the counter, paying a total of 15 BP before Kage even had the chance to think about payment. Ryan grabbed Kage by the hand, running out the door. He was excited for this, and he didn't want Kage to fall behind. Ryan entered his dorm room, dropping all the ingredients into the kitchen. In seconds, Ryan was running around the kitchen, a flurry of pots, pans, knives, spatulas flying around. Ryan's face was turning red due to all the work he was putting into this meal. After a good thirty minutes of slaving over the kitchen, Ryan slid four plates across the table. Upon one, a platter of varying berries, including Cheri, Sitrus, Pinap, Aspear, Rawst, Mago, Iapapa, Grepa, Hondew, and Oran. Upon the second, multiple rice balls seasoned with Oddish Leaves. Upon the third, a steaming plate of varying types of sushis, made of different parts of a large Magikarp, as well as rice, seaweed, and a small bit of Krabby meat in each one. On the last, multiple finger sandwiches including Grumpig ham and Gogoat cheese, as well as peanut butter and jelly ones. Ryan beamed, envying his masterpiece of a meal.

    Henry, Kage vs. Ryan was a biased tie. Although al'Thor fainted first, Feroces fainted shortly after. Giving Ryan 5 Bp would be a bit of stretch to begin.

    Deciding nothing truly was of interest to him right now, Ryan turned to Kage. "Hey, wanna go head over to the cafeteria or something, or if you really wanted it, I could cook us some lunch. I'm a better cook than most people give me credit for. We could just stop by the shop and pick up some ingredients, then we could head back to my dorm to cook it." Ryan blushed a little bit, he didn't like boasting, but he really wanted a home-cooked meal for once.

    "Thank you for giving us the opportunity Professor Redwood. And thank you for the feedback." Ryan made a gesture similar to that of a now before walking over towards the Nurse Joy. He handed Feroces over to Nurse Joy. After Audino healed Feroces, Ryan placed him on his left shoulder once again. "You did great buddy!" Ryan beamed at his new partner.

    Beldum's weight is actually 209.9 lbs, meaning you were off by about 90 pounds. Still, I agree, Feroces should be down after that too.

    As Feroces and Ryan were admiring their victory, Feroces collapsed upon the ground, fainting. "Feroces, you did incredibly well. We were off to a bad start but that's ok, cause you still managed to beat him." Ryan scooped Feroces off the floor and returned him to his pokeball. "Great job out there Kage, that battle was very exciting! I think the rest of this year will be very fun!" Ryan winked at Kage before looking back to Redwood to see what he thought.

    Nah man, Feroces is a clever lil shit. I know it may seem like I shouldn't have expected a stop. But I never truly did. What Ryan told Feroces to do all along was to let al'Thor come to him so he could grab al'Thor in his mouth and do some shit.

    "Ok Feroces! Open wide!" With that, Feroces caught the approaching al'Thor between his jaws, sinking his flaming jaws into al'Thor once again. "Now Feroces!" Hearing his trainer's call, Feroces threw al'Thor onto the ground and let out another large howl. Moves Used: Howl, Fire Fang 2x Attack

    Ryan smirked as he saw al'Thor begin his Take Down. "Now Feroces!" Standing still, completely unintimidated Feroces opened up his jaws and released a howl, louder than anything Ryan had ever heard. However, Ryan remained unflinching knowing what he had in store. Within seconds, Feroces mouth was shut once again and the Shinx sat still, hiding the small flames licking the tips of its canines. Moves Used: Howl 1.5x Attack

    Ryan saw exactly what Kage wanted to do here. He wanted Feroces to attempt to hit him, but Beldum would slam down on top of Feroces. Maybe, he hoped. "Feroces, don't fall for it. Don't attack him! Wait for him to come down." Ryan quickly whispered something so that only Feroces could hear.
