[IC] Fate/Reborn [First Holy Grail War]
Flux replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Vance sighed. That wasn't the best answer he could have hoped for, but this was still the best option he had. "You said earlier that all other Servants must die for the Grail to materialize. What about the Masters? If a Master's Servant dies, they can't participate anymore, right? They'd have no means to do battle against another Servant..." If he was correct in his line of thinking, there could still be a way to avoid some of the bloodshed. He let out another sigh. "I knew I shouldn't have listened to them. I should have just minded my own business and stayed out of this mess. Aaaagh, what a bother!" -
What if 95% of the population simultaneously regressed to having the maturity of 5 year olds?

Vance grimaced. "Even if I abstain from fighting, the fight will come to me either way... and the only way to prevent that is to win this 'Holy Grail War'..." He ran his hands through his hair, an annoyed expression appearing on his face. "Argh, what a bother!!! He stopped suddenly, thinking back to what Lily had said. "For all other Servants must die for the Grail to materialise." An idea was forming itself, slowly but surely. He just needed more information. "Lily..." he began, "What happens to a Servant when they die in this world?" -
It tends to get deeper when she's in Misaka-craze mode. I really liked the Japanese voice-acting on her. It fit the character very well imo. Did you watch it dubbed? (Just curious. I'm no "Subbed Master Race" guy.)

I'd go with the color version, personally.

Watch Index if you want the actual plot, Railgun for more lighthearted themes focusing on the adventures of Misaka and crew. I personally found Railgun better after watching Index. The Touma cameos and such are better that way.

These are all so true: Maybe a tad bit NSFW
-
If it makes everyone feel any better, Misaka's a close second for that series... Actually maybe third now that I finished Railgun and learned of Haruue Erii... Please don't hit me.

I second this as well. That game was SO much fun, and I loved practicing the infinites you could do with proper timing. Coolest looking combos an action game has to offer.

For some reason, whenever people type smh, I assume it means "Suck my hams."
-
I second this so much. Also, Shadow of the Colossus. There's a reason that it's my favorite game to this day.

To be honest, I've brought up Melee here on more than one occasion. Still petitioning for this to just be a general Smash thread. -

Sylva frowned at the news, but seemed to get over it quickly enough. She marched the rest of the distance to the door, speaking along the way. "All right. "We'll go home today, but tomorrow we're getting cake!" She spun around, meeting Frog's eyes with a smile on her face. "Lead the way, Master!" ((OOC: Pretty short, but there's not whole lot more I could say.)) -
Happy Birthday Kaito!

Vance and Lily "Well. That escalated quickly." Vance stood in a stunned silence, running his hand over his chin as he took in everything Lily had just said. Masters and Servants... It was quite a different relationship than he had at first thought...what Lily had just done proved that. And there were supposedly 6 other pairs that he was to... kill? Vance made a fist before answering through clenched teeth. "Yeah... I've got a few questions. What's the point of all this? Why do we need to kill each other? And why was I dragged into this mess?" He was clearly upset, as emotional breakouts were rare for a man of Vance's disposition. "...I didn't sign up to kill anybody." ----------------------------------------------------- Sylva and Frog "Of course. We can get you to a bathroom. I'll need to wash my hand too, heheh. And don't worry about your clothes, we'll get them fixed when we get back to my place. There's bound to be a place there somewhere where we could wash your dress, I'll just have to check." Sylva broke into a beaming smile upon hearing those words, throwing her arms into the air in a gesture of happiness. "Yay!" She ran up to Frog, throwing her arms around his waist in a hug. As she separated herself from him, she looked up at his face with curious eyes. "We're going to your place?" She paused for a moment, apparently thinking about something. There was a big smile on her face when she looked up again. "...Do you have cake? Apparently it's a popular food in this era, and it's really sweet!" She laughed as she ran towards the door. "Cake! Cake! I want cake!" -

Silva stood slowly, wiping the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand. Her palms were now covered in the blood from the floor, as well as parts of her dress around her knees. "...Sorry. It seems like I'm still just a child, at the end of the day. Even a few thousand years hasn't changed that part of me..." It was strange. She should have no idea what a hospital was, yet as soon as her Master had said the word, she had instantly known the connotation. It was a large building where many people were cared for, using all sorts of technology. It seemed that whatever had brought her here had also supplied her without information about this era. "As for your question, the information I've been supplied with tells me that Servants are divided into seven classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Caster, Assassin, Berserker, and Rider. Out of those seven, I seem to be the Caster class. I know all sorts of magic, so that must be why..." She still seemed a bit shaken by the blood, but she mustered up a smile. "Excuse me for asking, but is there somewhere I can wash this blood off?A bath or something? And maybe clean my dress as well?" -

Vance and Lily Cooking, cleaning, sewing... Those were all pretty normal things for a servant to know. He wondered how she did it all with her current condition, but decided to refrain from asking. He had probably offended her enough already. Besides, the last things she had said concerned him more. "Martial arts? I suppose it's not so strange of a hobby, though I once again have to wonder about her current state. But... Rider-class. What could that mean?" Vance sighed. He felt like he was just barraging this poor girl with question after question, though to be honest, this was the most interested he had been in something in a long time. She seemed very nice and polite, which was rare among people these days. "Well, since you told me about yourself, I suppose I should tell you a bit about me. As I said earlier, my name is Vance Hollow, meaning that I'm from the Hollow bloodline of magicians, making me a magician myself. You probably already knew that though, if I truly did summon you here. I'm a 5th generation mage, which is fairly strong among the modern mage families, though by no means the strongest. I specialize in fire magic." He breathed out slowly, slumping his shoulders. "To be honest, I want nothing to do with magic. From what I've seen of my family, mages are just a bunch of greedy elitists, only looking out for their own needs. I just want to be free of all that." He paused, meeting Lily's eyes. "To be honest, I have no idea where we go from here. Are you just to be my servant, then? All I know was that spell was supposed to give me a servant of some sort. And while that initially seemed like a nice idea, I don't really like the idea of forcing somebody to do my bidding, especially somebody as nice as you. That's exactly the sort of thing I'm trying to break away from myself." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sylva and Frog Frog? That was certainly a strange name for a human, or at least, it would have been in her time. Perhaps that was common nowadays. "Well... I like the name Sylva, but you get to call me whichever you want! You're the master after all!" There was a bright smile on her face as she spoke. "And if you're the most powerful human in the world, we should have no problem winning whatever kind of challenge this Grail has in store for us!" She twirled around again, suddenly stopping as he eyes focused on Frog. Sylva's skin paled and her face took on a stricken appearance. She was looking directly at the bloody towel and the array of knives at his belt. She thought back to his earlier words, the meaning of them finally dawning upon her. "...just made from the blood I made the circle from?" She slowly looked down to her feet, seeing for the first time the bloody symbol she was standing in. Her face scrunched up as if she were about to cry, and a few tears could be seen forming at the corner of her eyes. She fell to her hands and knees, her body wracked with sobs. Just what had gone on here before she arrived? "M-master..." She called out between sobs, "what's... what's all this blood...?" -
Whoops. I had a feeling that might happen at some point. Way back when, I had planned for the original character to be Silva, but when adapting it for this RP, I decided to change it to Sylva because I thought it looked better when I actually typed it out. I think the title of that one post is the only place I've messed it up so far, so I changed that. The plan is to go with Sylva, but don't be surprised if you see "Silva" show up a few times. It's like breaking a habit.

"Are you my Master?" "Introduce ourselves? Master? It doesn't sound like she's lost... Wait, Master?!" It finally clicked. The summoning ceremony earlier that day, a servant... So this was his servant. He sighed. He felt bad about thinking it, but really, what could a servant with no arms or legs possibly do? "...Yeah, I guess it seems that way... My name is Vance Hollow, though I'd prefer if you just call me Vance." He paused as an idea entered his head. Perhaps he could find out what this servant could do without having to be rude. "...If I'm the Master, that must make you the servant, right? If you don't mind me asking... What are you specialties, as far as servants go?" -

Dash attack requires pretty high percent though... Though I haven't heard of D-throw to Down B. I'll have to look into that. I know up throw to Down B works around 90%, but only if they don't DI, so that's pretty useless. -

I quit maining Pikachu for similar reasons. I had a great neutral game and could rack up percent like nobody's business, but I could never land a kill move easily. Up smash and forward smash are all he's really got, other than Down B (which isn't good to rely on) and landing a Bair off the stage at pretty high percent. And when a character is that reliant on smash attacks to get a kill, that pretty much says right away that they're not for me. -

Sylva and Frog "Tell me something first, though. Did I... make you with that circle thing? Cause like... that would be super cool, you know! And that would make me your Master! Oh, oh, and does it have anything to do with these?" Sylva frowned as she thought of a response. She didn't have exact details on their relationship herself, but it did seem like she was much more informed than this man. "Well... You didn't so much make me... It was more like... hmmm..." Her face twisted in concentration as she tried to think of a suitable term. After a moment, her eyes lit up with an answer. "Summoning!" She broke into a wide grin as she thought of the word. "Yes, summoning! You see, I come from another time and place, and that circle is what summoned me across the very planes of existence to meet you here! You, the master and I, the Servant. Those marks on your hand symbolize the pact we have to make in order to maintain this partnership. At least, that's the way I understand things..." Her expression became more serious. "It seems we're supposed to compete for some kind of Grail. I don't really know much about that, though. Perhaps you have some information about that sort of thing..." She couldn't imagine that her Master was entirely clueless about the situation. He knew the summoning ritual after all, and he would have had to learn that somewhere. She paused for a moment, seemingly coming to some sort of realization. "But we haven't even exchanged names!" She exclaimed. "Where I come from, most people called me 'The Lady of Twilight.'" She pouted. "I don't really like being called that very much though. I just want to be Sylva! That's my name after all! " She twirled around in childlike glee, pausing after a moment. "Though it seems I am known as Caster while I'm here." She met the man's eyes once more. Her eyes were wide in a curious gaze, one that may seem intrusive on anyone else but a child. "But what should I call you, mister?" ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Vance and Lily It was nighttime when Vance awoke again. He rose slowly into a sitting position, stretching his arms and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He let out a yawn, slowly opening his eyes. It was dark now, that was the first thing he noticed. Not too late though. The sun had probably just set. He gazed around the room, taking in the mess, before his eyes finally noticed what was right in front of him. "WHA-?!" He would have jumped backwards had he not been seated on a couch. Still, his reaction tilted the couch onto its back legs, hanging in midair for a moment before crashing back down. He peered through squinted eyes at the person in front of him, convinced that something was fooling his eyes. "She has no limbs." He leaned forward, as if believing he was mistaken. "Nope. She definitely has no limbs." He nodded to himself for a few moments before stopping abruptly. Had he just said that last part out loud? "U-um..." His face flushed red. He hurriedly clasped his hands in front of himself, bowing forward apologetically. He may be lazy, but that didn't mean he was impolite. Well, not on purpose at least. He had been in shock by her appearance earlier, but now that he took a closer look, he realized that this girl wasn't actually very old. Definitely younger than he was. Her hair and eye color were... unique, to say the least. Still, she was fairly pretty, for a human with no limbs at least. "Sorry! But, um... are you perhaps lost? Did you get the wrong house? They do look pretty similar around these parts..." He had already completely forgotten the event that had taken place earlier that day. It wasn't unlike him. He tended to remember only things he deemed important. Vance sighed. Why did he always get thrust into these situations? "Listen, if you really want, I can help you find the place you're looking for."
