  1. Probably the "The moon landing was faked" theory. It actually has a lot of convincing evidence on its side if you take the time to look into it, and the explanations scientists have for that evidence is shaky at best. If you had to leave your first child to be raised by either wolves or gorillas, which would it be and why?
  2. Well, I don't remember everything because most of it got disenchanted... I got two legendaries, which were Justicar Trueheart and Icehowl. Disenchanted Icehowl, kept Trueheart. Other than that, I got a TON of epics, most of which were also disenchanted. I crafted the twins with the dust, mostly just because I love them for some reason.
  3. Sylva walked into the restroom and over to the sink, eyeing it curiously as she approached. Her shoulders just barely reached above the brim, and she had to reach upward to pull the handles. She turned on the water, stretching her hands straight in front of herself as she washed the blood off of them. She hummed a tune as she did so, a song from her world. It was a happy tune with a childlike melody. It's notes were set in an unfamiliar pattern for the current era, giving it an otherworldly quality... Sylva reached up and turned off the water after a couple minutes. Thankfully the blood had come off of her skin witthout too much trouble, but there was still the dress to worry about. Oh well. She'd be getting new clothes tomorrow anyway. "All right Mister Frog, I'm all done!" she declared with a smile on her face. "Now let's go home!" She raised a fist triumphantly into the air as she resumed her march down the hallway.
  4. Sylva and Frog Sylva raised an eyebrow as they walked. "What kind of magic do you want to see? I know all sorts of magic, so it's hard to choose..." She looked up at Frog, awaiting an answer. He was probably tired. It was pretty late, after all. He'd probably been up all day and night preparing for her summoning. Those sorts of rituals tended to take time to prepare. ------------------------------------------------------------ Vance and Lily Vance let out a relieved breath. "Thank you, Lily. Though there really is no need to be so formal about everything. I'm a pretty laid-back guy." He let out a yawn as soon as he finished. "I don't know about you, but I'm beat. We'll figure out what we're doing about all this tomorrow." He stopped suddenly, a curious expression on his face. "Do Servants require sleep and nutrition when summoned to our world? How exactly does this work?"
  5. Color me surprised at the 0 new posts in the Hearthstone thread. I was expecting it to be flooded today.

    1. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

I haven't been really able to play since their servers are choking on the pressure right now XD. Hell some can;t even log in.

  6. Sylva stopped mid-chant, turning around to face Frog once more. She gave him a smile. "Yep. That was high-level illusion magic. Not only do they look like human ears now, but they feel the same too. Changing the actual form like that is difficult. But as for the knowledge I have about this era..." She held her hands up in a helpless gesture as she shrugged. "I don't know," she began innocently. "As soon as I was summoned here, it seems that I was supplied with all sorts of information about this world and its customs. Some things are more obscure than others, but there seem to be gaps in the information." She raised a finger, a know-it-all smile appearing on her face, just like that of a kid. "That's to be expected of course. Transferring even this amount of information is very impressive for a spell. To ask for any more would be silly." That being said, she turned around once more, resuming her happy chant. "Shorts, shorts! I get shorts!" She glanced back at Frog. "Thank you mister Frog! You're the best Master I could have!" She flashed a bright smile as she waited for her Master to catch up.
  7. I expected as much. After all, I haven't even gotten to a point where the main plot is defined yet. It'd be hard to make a judgment call at this point.
  8. Well yesterday I watched the first four episodes of Log Horizon. Obviously I'm not far enough in to make any real judgment calls yet, but I'll give my first impressions. First, comparing it to other similar anime, then on its own. Comparing the first few episodes of Log Horizon to SAO, it's a no-contest win for SAO, but that's to be expected. SAO's introduction sequence sets up a darker theme than Log Horizon, which is more my style. I think SAO is more compelling to me right now based on the fact that it is a death game, whereas Log Horizon is not. (At least at this point. As I said earlier, these are just first impressions. I have no idea how the plot will develop.) As such, SAO really becomes a reality for them, whereas Log Horizon is not quite so serious. In SAO, PVP was a serious problem, as people were actually dying, and while Log Horizon tries to make a big deal out of it as well, it just doesn't carry the same weight. As for combat, SAO is more action-packed and the animations are more exciting, but I do enjoy the more strategic side that Log Horizon shows. It's entertaining to see how Shiro gets them out of whatever situation they may be in (Though sometimes it's kinda bs). While I've heard that Log Horizon focuses on development of the characters and the world, so far I like both SAOs characters and world more. Again, I'm only four episodes into Log Horizon, while on the other hand, I know A LOT about SAO's world and characters through the light novels (Maybe too much), so it's not really a fair comparison at this point. I just find the 100 floor floating castle to be such a cool setting for the story. The castle also gives the characters a clear purpose and motivation in the game, whereas the players of Log Horizon don't really have anything to do other than play the game (At this point. I'm sure that will change...). But in general, I feel that comparing Log Horizon to SAO doesn't actually make much sense. I think Log Horizon is far closer to the .Hack series than SAO, and from what I've seen of both, it surpasses .Hack so far. (Although I did love Roots, I've gotta say.) On it's own, Log Horizon is an unusual case for the "trapped in an MMO" genre. While it takes from the same general idea, in this case the game is not originally virtual reality, and the players don't know how they even got there. It makes for an interesting plot device to say the least. Rather than focusing on fast-paced action, it seems to lean more towards strategic play, more like modern MMOs. There is a focus on finding a purpose in the world which is also unusual for the genre. Normally, the characters almost always know what they need to do to escape, or they at least address the concern to escape. As of now, that doesn't appear to be the case in Log Horizon. The idea of escape has been addressed once so far, and was dismissed with a "Let's gather information." It seems sort of strange, but then again these are only the first four episodes. All in all, I am enjoying the series so far. It's no SAO as of yet, but it's still entertaining. (I didn't really expect it to rival SAO though. SAO is a special place for me. It's a world that has interested me far beyond any other anime, and it will take something VERY good to take away its crown. Though admittedly, Attack on Titan came close.) In general, Log Horizon seems like a more laid-back anime with more humor inserts while SAO tends to be more serious.
  9. If the Japanese version of Crossing Field hadn't already been mentioned, that would have been my first pick. I'm also a fan of these two SAO openings: Courage Innocence (Bit of an intro before the opening, but it's the only video I could find that still had sound.) Also, I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet: And finally, I LOVE the ending song of .Hack//Quantum. There's no animation, but the song is beautiful.
  10. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...I forgot another one. Sorry, Zephy. Also, thanks for the well wishes everybody! This feels weird to say here, (It's kind of like making a birthday thread for yourself and then thanking people which would feel weird...) but I feel that it's needed. EDIT: I'd be game.
  11. Rose is our music lady, so she's very knowledgable about most music related questions, as you've seen by her fast reply. I also play the piano as my primary instrument, so feel free to ask me anything you need via pm or whatever method you like. Edit: Aren't we derailing this thread? I suppose it was just a general talk thread, but there's also the Casual Talk thread for that.
  12. Well, I obviously get nothing for just "Flux," but if I add "Pokemon Reborn" to the end, I get some interesting results. We get... My current avatar and a post of mine from the Funny Picture Thread: Two images of my creation, Aqcui's avatar and sig, Amethyst's Avatar, Alexus's avatar, and a bunch of other Reborn-related images that I don't feel like going into detail about. And finally, we have the cake I gave Dobby and Derpy Simon, my edited Victoria sprite, Jelly, McZipo, and Ark. EDIT: And Godot. And that's all I feel like looking for.
  13. Actually, yours was among the first for me too, though I didn't actually interact with you at that time. I always associated you with Tacos and Cowtao for some reason. Also, apologies to Lexi. I forgot to put you in the list initially, so you've been added in! Trust me though, you were meant to be there.
  14. Hey everyone. So I just remembered that today is my two year anniversary as a member of Reborn. Last year I allowed anyone interested to add a line to my profile page, and although I didn't get many people to take me up on that offer, the few lines that did get added seem special for whatever reason, so I won't be doing that again this year. (Even though I feel like I'd get many more replies, simply based on a few of the newer members who have joined since then.) Instead, I'm going to do something in the vein of the Member Appreciation Thread. (Free advertising Bibs. You owe me one. Also, indirect advertising for Ark. You owe me one too. Jk guys, that's why it's free.) So anyway, here are some people I wanted to thank for making my time at Reborn the great experience it has been so far and keeping me here for another year. Amethyst - Obviously the queen of Reborn must come first. If it weren't for you Ame, this place wouldn't exist at all and I wouldn't have met any of the wonderful people here. You're also the developer of the Reborn game, which is what brought this site to my attention in the first place. And finally, you're one of the least judgmental people I know and an amazing person from what I know of you, and that's a welcome relief every time I log on here. Aquiescence - While Ame brought me to the site, you brought me to the forums. The first real thing I did with my account was apply for your RP, Pokemon Aftermath. Through your model RPing, you actually introduced me to RPing in general, and lead me to the great experiences I've had and the people I've met there. In addition, you've been an awesome person and a great friend during all the interactions I've had with you, so thanks! Arkhidon - You're probably the first person I actually felt close enough to to call a friend at Reborn, and probably online in general (Though there are more now, as you can tell from the place right above you) and while we may not interact as much as we did when AoTTG and my RPs were a thing, I still consider you one of my closest friends here. We're about the same age and both grammar Nazis (Though I try to refrain from showing it), so it's no wonder we get along! Thanks for being there! Hukuna - If Ark was the first, then you were definitely the second real friend I made here. Admittedly, we don't talk as much anymore either, (Probably my fault anyway) but I still consider you a close friend. You're the one that kept me sticking around the RP section for the most part, and you're the only one I can actually say I know who has created their own world to the detail you have. It's something I've always wanted to do, but never had the attention span for. You're plenty forgiving and an all-around great guy (Despite what you may have to say about that), so thanks for everything! Bibs - To be honest, I'm not really sure when we started getting as familiar as we have been, but it's definitely a good thing! I've known you since some of those old RPs, and you have one of the best senses of humor(?) I know. You like Bibarel after all, hue hue. Thanks for being such a great guy, and I'll see you around! Jory - I feel like I haven't seen you in a long time, though you have been active. That's probably my fault for shutting down my RPs. (Though I still consider Awakened a temporary shut down for now, if you all are willing to return some day.) I still feel bad about your loss of Roland, so I'm sorry again! Anyway, you've been one of my most loyal RPers (Though most people have learned to bear with me now) and a good friend, so thanks, and I appreciate it! Stratos - You feel like a completely different person from way back when you were LegendariesTamer (Less intimidating tbh) and I've come to know you for the great person you are. You have a creative mind, and you aren't afraid to address your own flaws, no matter how intimidating they may be. That's an admirable trait. I'm proud to consider you a friend, so thank you! Dobby - Probably the most recent of my close friends, I'm definitely glad I got to know you. We have similar interests and humor, and you're always willing to answer whatever question I may have at the time, so thanks! I'll see you around! Notus - While you may not be around as much anymore do to school, It's always great when you're here! You're one of the kindest people I know, and you're always upbeat about things. We got shipped somewhat recently in the Shipping Thread, though I don't think you knew about that, so I'll never know if you accept me. But beyond the silly stuff, I'm glad I got to know you and become your friend. Hopefully I'll see you again soon! Rosesong - Another person that I feel I haven't talked to quite as much as I should have. Despite that, I still know you as one of the nicest people I've met in my entire time at Reborn, and you're a fellow musician as well! (Though you gone much farther with it than I have.) Your dedication to carrying on Notus's Under the Hill is admirable, and I'm glad to see it coming back. Whether you know it or not, you give a lot to this community, so thanks for being great! Dan the Man - Dan, even though we've really only spoken during that certain project, your willingness to assist with my stupidity was enough to prove to me how great of a guy you are. I call you Dan the Man for a reason, after all. You do a ton of work at Reborn, and while we may love to joke about you and blame you, that's just our strange way of showing our appreciation for all that you do for us. I think that this community would have a hard time without you around, so thanks for everything! Alexus/KosherKitten - I used to see you as one of the unapproachable "old members" of Reborn, though now that I look, I've been here longer than you. Huh. Anyway, I guess we first started talking through Smite, and now it's been that and your RP. You're actually one of the two people at Reborn that I've interacted with outside of the forums and the server, alongside Ark, so that puts you in a special place. I feel like we've become pretty good friends through our interactions, so don't hesitate to hit me up with whatever! Thanks for being there! Zephy - I've only known you through RPing for the most part, (We've had some contact on the server back in the day, though) but you're a wonderful person to be around in general. You're another case that I haven't seen in a while, but hopefully we'll meet again somewhere. Your characters were always fun, and you had great enthusiasm. Thanks! That's all I can think of at the moment... I almost definitely forgot some people, so I apologize in advance if that happens to be you! Anyway, I glad to have been here for two whole years, and my sticking around is thanks to the above people. I hope to make another year here at Reborn despite college looming in the 8-day future, and hopefully make some new friends to add to this list. Thanks again to the whole community for being so great! EDIT: I'M SORRY LEXI I FORGOT YOU! I TOTALLY CALLED THIS FORGETFULNESS THOUGH! YOU'VE BEEN ADDED! EDIT 2: NOOOOOO ZEPHY!!!! I WAS GOING TO HONOR YOUR NAME AS WELL AND FORGOT IT! I THOUGHT I WAS DONE FORGETTING THINGS, BUT APPARENTLY NOT!?!?
  15. Vance and Lily "I'm sure you don't want to hear this, and I'm sorry to have to say it, but... it would be best if you moved forward from this point under the assumption that battles will be inevitable." "I know that... Damn it, I KNOW that much!" Vance fumed. He was frustrated at the situation he was in, as well as his own lack of willingness to do what needed to be done from here on out. "Killing the Masters is the easiest and quickest way out... That's how I've always done things: The least amount of work possible. Yet even so..." Vance let out a sigh - a common occurrence for him. The anger seemed to have left him all in that instance. "All right. I'll participate in this damned Grail War, if only so I can live a normal life again. However..." he paused, holding eye contact with Lily. "As the Master in this Master/Servant pair, I will decide who we kill. For now, refrain from killing Masters unless I give the okay... Please." Lily seemed gentle and understanding enough so far, but Vance could feel a certain hardness to her. She had some sort of past with death and killing, he was sure. What it was, he did not know, but how else could one so easily accept killing another? He hoped she would willingly go along with him on this due to her natural kindness, but if not... he was ready. He didn't know when the knowledge had come to him, but he now knew what these Command Seals were for. And he was prepared to use one. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frog and Sylva "Let's wash up here!" Sylva said cheerily, apparently oblivious to the situation most children would deem "creepy." She had lived her whole life in the twilight after all, so the moon washing its glow across the hospitals floors was nothing but a familiar comfort for her. She began a happy march down the hall, without actually knowing where the bathroom was. Suddenly, she stopped mid-step, running a hand across her pointed ear. "Oh yeah... humans don't have these!" She giggled to herself, lowering her hand. As she did so, the pointed edge to her ear faded, slowly rounding itself to a human shape. She turned around to face Frog. "I'll probably need some new clothes too..." She began, a thoughtful look on her face. "My dress would stand out like a sore thumb in a crowd." She giggled again. "That's what the humans say now, right? Sore thumb?" She appeared to be in thought again. "I know! I want to try shorts! That's something else new to try. Cake and shorts! Cake and shorts! She happily marched down the hall, chanting this new phrase to herself.
  16. If you want to become a butterfly, you must first become caterpillar soup.

  17. Arkhi!! I never knew... QQ Don't you dare let that get worse or you'll have a very sad Flux on your hands. As for me, I'm fortunate enough to say that I don't have any diagnosed conditions, though I feel kind of bad saying that here after seeing what everyone else has to deal with. The most I've had was a few broken bones over the years and a hernia when I was 4, which progressed far enough to almost kill me before I showed my dad how I could bulge out my intestines. (I just thought it was cool at the time. Thankfully I showed him, or I wouldn't be here.) That basically means that I'll forever live with a ring around my intestines, though it doesn't really affect me in any way now.
  18. ^Pretty much my exact thoughts right there. I literally agree with all of that. As for Log Horizon, I'm definitely going to give it a watch. Combat isn't as important to me if the world is interesting enough. And despite how bad most people say SAO's romance was executed, I still liked it. There isn't much I don't like about the series, despite its criticism.
  19. I think we should have a thread that you post in everytime you type something out and then delete it thinking nobody will care. I'd be interested in seeing how many pages it got.

  20. I'm thinking of watching Log Horizon. Has anyone here seen it? If so is it any good? I've heard it's along the lines of SAO, and some people say it's even better. Though personally I'm all like, "Pssh, no way. SAO is my jam."
  21. I didn't know it was Alexus's birthday too! Happy Birthday Alexus, my friend! Hope you have a good one!
  22. If you could pick any fantasy world to live in (from a book, TV show, movie, or video game) which would you choose? - [8/20/2015] That's a tough one... If Sword Art Online counts, then I'd take that hands down, but that's a strange case since it's fiction inside of fiction. Assuming I have the same unnatural strength and physics of the world, Monster Hunter also comes to mind, alongside Shadow of the Colossus. But yeah, I don't think there's ever been another world I wanted to experience as much as SAO.
