  1. For the birds, I zapped them with a fast Electric type (Jolteon in my case). My Scrafty, Typhlosion, and Crobat took care of the rest of the team except for Noel's star/trolling Pokemon. For that one, just don't let it set up. Just trust me on that.
  2. I don't know how to play chess so I know how you feel. Watch this for help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c1QV7nBGgo All credits to Nickaboo~
  3. No problem! I just thought I might have skipped something that required me to post. Actually, this really works out since I have to finish a school paper for next week, so I will be busy myself.
  4. *Doesn't know if she is supposed to post in the IC thread* Should I expound on Miki's derailment and her subsequent actions?
  5. I really like your writing Flux, so please don't be sorry! It makes the plot more interesting! Plus, everyone's style of writing helps other RPers improve on their own writing. In regards to Aqui's question: Miki would only kill if necessary, as in if someone tries to kill her or her close friends. If she was given an order to kill without any plea deal for the opponent, she will do so reluctantly. She will show mercy (having her Jolteon paralyze them) and give them a chance to surrender (by reasoning with the enemy). Color's crush... Wasn't it Aeon? EDIT: Hakuna beat me to it!
  6. Oh crap, should I change my post too? I posted the "15 minutes" even though Miki, herself, doesn't know it... @King: I think only Acquiescence can respond to your post, as Miki and Flux are in separate rooms and have no way of contacting you.~
  7. I think she did. I couldn't see her post in the IC thread. Hmm... once again, throwing this idea off the top of my head. Grasssnake can jump in as a captive of the Church being questioned as the raids are going on. As I recall from previous posts, Sarcus mentioned how he saw people being led in by the acolytes when he was entering Eterna. Then, a few posts down, when the Gliscor was attacked by Lenna, the Gardevoir (I forgot the trainer's name, forgive me!), "Church members are suddenly upon us." So, the acolyte questioning Alina could have been one of them, giving Alina time to react and escape.
  8. 15 minutes later “Well, so much for that,” Miki thought, “I ran out of things to say.” Not only that, but her throat is dry from the continuous ranting. “I guess I can’t learn everything from a book.” She sighed while she stared at the door. “Can I have a glass of water?” she asked softly, even though she knew she won’t get an answer. Silence settles into the room once again. Miki could feel her brain scrambling for something to think about. Just ANYTHING to keep her brain preoccupied from the thoughts of what might happen… What could happen… And where Raito is… “Reciting the Pokedex? No, eventually Jolteon will come up… Grooming tips? Raito has short hair – No! That doesn’t work either! Myths? But they have Pokémon battles in it, and that will eventually lead to my dream, with Raito in it again…” “It’s no use,” Miki admitted to herself, looking at the door. Her intellectual resolve is diminishing as she spoke. “I’m worried about my only Pokémon and family left.” The young lady began to tremble, she never felt so alone in her life. Even when her parents never showed up, Miki still had her beloved Raito to keep her sane. When she read, Raito will snuggle up to her and listen to her. When she cried, it was Raito who made her laugh again. When they ran out of food, it was little Raito, confident in his speed, ran outside to steal food from the Church conclaves. Fear slowly took control over her. Her heart raced and her trembling is now visible to the naked eye. “What if Raito is mortally injured like… that day…?” ---------------------- It had been one year since her parents told them to leave, and food was running short. Raito had gone out on one of their nightly trips, hoping to find scraps and trainer-esque items. However, she was not able to accompany him that night; Miki had a stomachache. She remembered Raito, then only an Eevee, stumbling into her cave on Route 206 with food in his mouth. Terrified, Miki got out from her covers, and carried Raito to her bed. Raito was sweating and breathing very slowly, as if every breath brings him pain; she found a deep bite mark on his right leg, all bloodied and covered with dirt and gravel. “Poison?” she questioned herself as she ran for an antidote in her hidden safe, “There are not poison types that bite around here…” Then it hit her. “Dawn… Her acolytes…” She had washed his wound tenderly and sprayed the antidote. Eventually, Raito slept peacefully that night, his breathing returned to normal. But for Miki, she didn’t sleep that night. She had almost lost Raito, her only family left, because he was forced to steal food no thanks to Dawn driving them out in the first place! Anger rose inside of her. Dawn already took everything else away from her; she has no right to take Raito too. “I’ll never forgive her, ever,” she had decided childishly. Shortly after his recovery, Raito has decided to evolve. Miki remembered his resolve: Raito approached the hidden safe and turned to her. His eyes brimmed with determination as Miki took out three evolutionary stones for him to choose. She saw Raito tap the Thunderstone with his brown paw, and, in a brilliant flash, his paw turned yellow in her hand. He never got caught ever since. ---------------------- Tears began falling down her face. Miki felt guilty for all he has been though; she couldn’t help it. She can’t let Raito die, not after what he has done for her. It was not his fault that he was born into this world and was given to her on her 10th birthday. He accepted her strengths and weaknesses and, faithfully, followed her commands. She would rather give herself up and be content knowing that Raito is free from the Goddess’ cluthes. With choking sobs, Miki looked at the door once more. She hoped, with what she will say next, will allow Raito freedom from this hell. “O-okay. I get it. Y-you caught me b-because I can be a-an asset to the Church. I GET IT!” She let the tears fall freely now. She might as well tell the truth; there is nothing left for her to lose. “Y-you can kill me if you want for b-being a traitor, b-but y-you should reconsider f-first. I-If you have my bag, t-the gray one, l-look in the pocket… There is a-a letter from D-Dusk…” There, she said it. Now Raito won’t be painted as target for now. She paused to try and gather her thoughts, but they are all just a jumble now. “A-all I ask of you is to let Raito go. Just please, PLEASE, let him go! He doesn’t deserve any of this! He was only following me to keep me safe! The Goddess… They… You… W-Whatever you are! THEY TOOK MY PARENTS AWAY! HE’S ALL THAT I HAVE LEFT FROM MY FAMILY! JUST LEAVE RAITO ALONE! PLEASE!”
  9. How long has it been since she was tied to this stinking chair? Miki has no clue. She had woken up, groggily, to a pitch black room, with only a light bulb to keep her company. Miki had waited until her head clears and her eyes have adjusted to the darkness. When she tried reaching for a stray piece of her hair that somehow made its way to her mouth, she found her hands tied behind her back. She tugged at the ropes once, twice, but they proved too tight for her hands to slip out of. She spit out that piece of hair hastily, annoyed at this treatment. “Really now? They already got us locked up; there is absolutely no need for bondage too! It’s not like I have a pocketknife or anything.” At that thought, she had gasped and finally began looking around. Where were Sarcus and Absolution? And Raito? She recalled hearing him crying for her before. “Raito?” she called. Silence. Miki could feel fear, actual fear, creeping into her soul. “Raito! RAITO! WHERE ARE YOU? CAN YOU HEAR ME? RAITO!!” She screamed as she struggled against the stubborn ropes. ----------- Miki had continued this hysterical yelling for another minute before giving up. There was no use to make her voice hoarse. Raito would have come by now if nothing happened to him. “Relax Miki, relax. He is strong now, he can electrocute his enemies. He is okay… He is okay… Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in…” She continued with this mantra until she felt her heart beat at its normal pace again. “Okay, if I want to find Raito and the others, I need to get information. And to do that, I need to get some attention. Question is, how can I get their attention from here?” She pondered for a moment, racking her brain for an answer. After what seemed like minutes, she gave a smirk. “I guess there is no use finding a way out. I guess I’ll have to WAIT for someone to show up!” she yelled at the door, hoping that someone will come in. From what she has read, she knew people cannot ignore a noisy cellmate for long. Hysterical crying won’t work, that is what interrogators wanted after all, but a reasonable, noisy one is a different story. She might as well test it out since she has nothing better to do. After all, even an interrogation is better than this empty silence. “AT LEAST give me a book to read while I’m here! How RUDE can you POSSIBLY be?”
  10. Focus Sash is not in game yet (Focus Band is though), and Counter is for physical moves. You're thinking of Mirror Coat since all of Ditto-Arceus' moves are special-based.
  11. Wait, what does it have in place of Hi Jump Kick now? Note: I beat it in episode 9, so don't know about the changes to it!
  12. Even though Sarcus and Absolution had a head start, Miki and Raito quickly caught up and sped right past them. Suddenly, in a burst of speed, Raito zipped ahead in a flash of yellow. “He’s using Agility as always. Raito can never stay still for long.” She thought, laughing to herself. “Hey! Slow down a bit, Raito!” What Raito didn’t always do was making an abrupt stop before a destination. Just as she turned the corner, Miki found Raito a short distance away, growling at a group of men, sparks flying from his yellow coat. She saw guns and, worse, a man in a white lab coat falling to the ground right in front of her. “Is he… dead?” Her legs locked beneath her (almost tripping herself in the process), paralyzed at that thought. She didn’t even hear Sarcus and Absolution approaching them as the men turned their attention towards the startled pair of trainers with their respective Pokémon, guns pointed straight at them. "SUCKER PUNCH!" Snapping out of her daze, Miki instinctually ran behind her Jolteon issued an order. “Pin Missile! Knock out those guns!” Raito quickly delivered a series of sharp, white needles towards a few gunmen from his spiky collar. A few cries of surprise were heard over the racket, an indication of Raito’s successful target practice. “Now, Thunder W—“ Her attention was averted when she heard a thump next to her. Sarcus has been hit by one of the gunmen. “Sarcus!” she cried, “But where-?” The next thing Miki felt was a sharp tinge of pain on her left arm, quickly replaced by drowsiness. “No! Not now… Please!” She struggled against the incoming sleep, her vision slowly fading away. “Raito… Run… Run…” The last thing she heard was Raito’s cry. --------------------------------------------------- “Tough lot,” Silver commented as the four dropped to the ground. The men behind him relaxed, especially those few that are now clutching their hands from the Pin Missiles. He made a few hand gestures towards his remaining, uninjured men; they proceeded to pick up the scientist, the two trainers, the Pokémon and, of course, their knocked out gunner. Silver turned to the direction of their base. “Let’s head back now.”
  13. @King: If Acquiescence gives the ok to Flux's post, feel free to toy with it. Miki won't mind tagging along as long as she gets a chance to run.
  14. Miki was put off upon hearing that tone of voice. “W-Well, I doubt you can if you are d—“, she snapped when, in the corner of her eye, she noticed Raito giving Sarcus a quick glance before turning silently to Absolution with a grin. It was as if he wanted to tell the Absol how similar their trainers are, although she, herself, didn’t see the resemblance. But, Miki will concede, if Raito didn’t seem to take offense over that comment towards his trainer, then it can’t be all bad. She decided to let that slide and address the next issue Sarcus brought up. “Waiting,” she felt tired at that term. The trainer has already waited 3 years for her parents to show up, and nothing came out of it. They should just run out there and find out. Everybody would be curious so the acolytes will not suspect a thing! “But,” Miki reconsidered, “He does have a point. For one, I am not alone with Raito anymore. We can run quickly and go unnoticed but Sarcus and Absolution… Absols aren’t the fastest Pokémon around and Sarcus… He can be a friend but I don’t know his capabilities. Two, basically what he said. I don't want them to know about me either. I mean, if we just came out of an alleyway, it will be a red flag to anyone with common sense, even to those Church members.” Miki waved offhandedly to brush off her previous comment. “Although it pains me not to run to the scene… And if you remember the speed I ran at, I can do it without any t-trouble… I’ll admit that you are right. The situation is too risky with you two involved. N-no offense of-of course,” she quickly added, “But I j-just don’t know what you two are c-c-capable of yet. S-so, yes, we can wait.” She sat back down reluctantly. Raito, a bit downcast at the decision, sat beside her this time and nudged her hand for a pat, which she did automatically. “A-as for this “someplace” you m-mentioned though,” Miki couldn’t help but ask, “Do you mean the Dusk organization? I mean, that’s the only place that will be safe from what you called “reeducation.””
  15. If we do it would be absolutely hilarious! *is shot for bad pun* Anyways, Absol-lutely, while you wait for permission to post, you can read the Prologue (DO NOT post though, that is already finished!) to get a sense of the plot and characters involved. You can find it somewhere below this topic. It will also give you a sense of how we role play on the forums here, such as the structure of our posts. That is how I learned to RP here.
  16. Miki chuckled when she heard the Absol, putting a stray strand of hair behind her ear in the process. She turned around to face him once more. "It is nice to meet you, Sarcus and, unfortunately, that is all too true. And yes, it is Raito. If this makes it simpler, "Raito" is a... L-let me put it this way: In English, my Jolteon's name is actually "Light." A Japanese-speaking person will p-pronounce "Light" as "Raito." In the Japanese speaking language has no distinct "r" and "l" sounds, so w-words like "light" will have the "l" sound like a mix between "r" and "l." I just happen to find "r" having a nicer sound when translating the Japanese pronunciation into English. A-and for the "o," that is what we call an ending particle. It doesn't mean anything." She paused to find a better explanation. "I guess the closest thing in English would be when we draw out a word like when we say "No wayyyy!" or "Hiiii!" Raito grinned at his trainer in amusement. Here she is giving a Japanese lesson to an unknown stranger. Of course Sarcus would understand immediately. The Jolteon rolled his eyes and gave a small bark of laughter. At that, Miki turns to Raito. "Oh, like you can explain it any better." Raito ignored her and returns to the battle, trying not to laugh again. "Ah, d-don't worry about it. Y-you can just call him "Light" if you forget. I'm sure he will answer to both, though I have not tried." She laughs nervously. "Oh man, that was embarrassing, me discussing Japanese." Then she blushed, realizing she that she hadn't introduced herself yet. "O-oh, s-sorry, I-I haven't introduced myself yet. You can call me Miki. A-As you can p-probably tell by now, though, I am Japanese. B-but I'm more fluent in English. M-my fam--" Suddenly, she heard a rumbling nearby, jolting her and Raito to their feet. "D-Did you hear that?" ((The name Raito is pronounced the way Light Yagami's name is pronounced in DeathNote))
  17. Hi Absol-lutely~ We don't mind if you join (I recently joined in myself), but please post your character and Pokemon in the Roleplay Character Thread here first: http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5374. Since KingMurdoc did post his character description there first, he is able to get Absol as his character's partner. If you still want to join, you will need to choose another Pokemon that we have not chosen. Also, this thread is for the storyline, not for chatting and sign up purposes. This is where you want to chat/ask questions and sign up for this RP: http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5539. That is also where you will find the rules, Pokemon chosen, who is in the RP, etc. To everyone: I know this is not where I am supposed to be discussing this, but seeing that Absol-lutely is constantly replying to this thread instead of the other, I can only assume that he didn't look at the sign up one. I will be replying to King shortly after this.
  18. What King said. Since we need to meet up at Eterna, I guess you can tie yourself into it ^^ Oh! That famous creepypasta that started it all! I forgot about the completely. *Is ashamed* There was also a beta piece on Lavender Town that contained Unknown's music in multiple sections, I believe. That was a pretty interesting one to hear. According to the creepypasta wiki, "Buried Alive" had a Gengar (close enough!), two ghost hands and a Muk. Wow, this brought back memories for me.
  19. That title sounds familiar. I believe I read that a long time ago during my Pokemon Creepypasta phase. But I still like Lost Silver the most. It has such a sad message at the end! Looking back at this topic's posts, I saw that there are others that wanted to join up. Where are they? They can join me and King! And Lucas seems to be done with his conclave (Hi, Acquiescence!), will Lucas be scaring the crap out of seeking out Sarcus and Miki since we are told to meet up in Eterna?
  20. Definitely more challenging than the normal Pokemon games, but I love it. In normal pokemon games, I find myself with more money than I can spend, which is not fun. Here in Reborn though, I am calculating my actions before buying anything. It's easier with Pay Day, but I don't depend on it much.
  21. "Jolt~," Raito carefully sniffed the guy's hand while Miki watched anxiously. She relaxed, though, as Raito nudged the hand for a petting. "If Raito doesn't sense any danger, then I guess I can relax too." Nevertheless, she will not reveal everything yet, not until she knows his real purpose for being here. "I guess there's no problem with you guys staying here." "Thanks," she said politely as the young boy leaned up against the wall to watch the on-going battle. Then his Absol sat right in between them; she deducted that he is just as nervous as she is around people. "Well, that makes two of us." Respecting their space, Miki sat herself down close to the entrance of the main street, adjusting her position just enough so that she won't be seen. Although she can't see the action as well as she could if she stands up, Miki would rather conserve her energy for another sprint just in case things get out of hand. The trainers' voices and the subsequent noises will do for now. "Maybe I can ask him about it later, if we make it." "Thank you, by the way. Absolution and I have been together for a long time." She smiled at that; the young girl admired such strong bonds between trainer and Pokemon. It is, she believed, through these bonds that the real power of Pokemon and trainers can be shown. It does not matter if the Pokemon has strong attacks if the trainer does not even know its strengths and weaknesses. Power is nothing without knowledge - that is what her parents taught her and she sticks by it through and through. "I hope you two will stay together for many more years to come. It's nice to meet a normal trainer again." She replied, eyes focused on the raging battle ahead. Raito, in the meantime, inched noisily towards Absolution, totally ignoring the signs of nervousness due to his curiosity. "Raito, don't make a bad first impression," she teased. The yellow Pokemon glanced at her trainer's back, gave a smirk, and lay next to the Absol as compensation. "Absolution huh? A play on "Absol" no doubt. Absolute, Absolutely, Absolence, Absolete, Absolver... Yep, Absolution is much better for a name." She couldn't help but giggle at the play on words.
  22. "Shhhh!!! N-not so loud! O-or else they would hear!" Miki managed to stammer. She quickly got off of the guy and dusted off any gravel and other unwanted substances off her clothes. Considering that she is wearing a white t-shirt really does not help matters. Luckily, her long, black cardigan was covering it to avoid any potential disgrace in her appearance. After finding her bag lying next to her, Miki then gave her full attention to the guy and his Absol. She quickly took mental notes about him (mainly his blonde hair and gray eyes) and his Pokémon before proceeding to explain herself. "I-I don't mean any h-harm. I-I just saw a... glare a-and I got curious. S-so I just ran here hoping they didn't see me." Miki gestured in the crowd's direction as she spoke the last part of the phrase. She then observed that the Absol's fur is very clean and glossy, a good sign of a well trained Pokémon. "He cares for his Absol, that much I will give him for now. This also might explain the glare..." "A-and judging by your Absol's beautiful condition," Miki's voice steadied as she continues, "That glare was p-probably from the light's reflection on its horn. B-but don't worry, nobody else noticed it." She then took a deep breath to steady herself. The young lady is never good at communicating her thoughts to people. "You probably don't believe me right now, but I don't b-blame you. But," she continues as she takes out her luxury ball from her belt, "At least let me say that I, like you, care for my Pokémon as much as you care for Absol." And with that, Raito popped out of the luxury ball in a flash of white. The Jolteon twitched its left ear, curious of its surroundings and the two figures standing before him. Although a bit defensive, Raito managed to let out a polite "Jolt!" as a greeting. ((Don't worry about it. It looks fine to me! ^^))
  23. It has been one week since Miki entered into Eterna City. She sighed despondently as she saw people hurrying along their way, afraid to make eye contact with anyone. The young girl could not blame them, after all, who wants to be innocently accused of seeing something they shouldn't be? For all they know, an arrogant acolyte could just handcuff them just because they looked at her funny. Miki clutched her bag strap tightly as she walked. She wished that her Jolteon is by her side right now, but she knows that would only risk being caught by a stray acolyte or two. So, to calm her nerves, the young trainer decided to piece together what she has seen so far. From what her Jolteon was trying to tell her earlier, most of the evidence about the conclaves being attacked is true. Miki had already peeked into the closest conclave from her cave and, indeed, there was, and probably still is, bloodshed. She is slightly repulsed by the death, wondering if they deserve it. "Perhaps the Dusk members were forced to kill them", Miki thought to herself. "After all, under her Majesty, it is a kill-or-be-killed world. But still... Those church members... Most of them are my peers... How can they be so stupid to follow such a cruel regime? What if they were they manipulated? Perhaps I can persuade them to change their minds if I ever have a chance to fight. Then I won't have to kill and Dusk will gain another ally... A win-win situation. But of course", she smiled sadly, "Nothing can always go your way." Unconsciously, Miki's grip on her bag loosened as she thought about those "what ifs." If anybody were to look at her, it seems like she is just lost in thought and looked as if she was a normal young lady. As she took a turn towards the statue, however, Miki saw what appears to be a crowd. She felt her heart skip a beat; something must is here! She immediately ran into the crowd without any sense of danger. And there, she saw the most beautiful sight that she has seen in 3 years. Pokémon battling! For a few minutes, she forgot that this is battleground for supremacy in Eterna, Miki could not take her eyes off of the Pokémon dodging and delivering attacks, their respective trainers giving commands, the desire to win... Her heart raced as if she was in the battle herself. It was fascinating to be hold. "This feeling... Red must have felt like this in a gym battle..." Out of the corner of her eye though, she spotted a glare for just a brief moment. Returning back to reality, Miki turned her attention to... an alleyway? At least that is where she thinks she saw the glare. "Is someone hiding there? A spy... an acolyte... a Pokemon... a Dusk member?" Whatever, or whomever, it may be, Miki felt that she had to go and see. "Where is the harm if I have Raito and I can run like the wind? Plus, most if not all, of the acolytes seemed preoccupied by the siege going on right now." So, Miki sneaked out of the crowd and, after making sure no acolytes are watching, made a quick dash towards the alleyway only to crash into something, or someone. "Owww..." She shook her head to shake off the shock from the fall. She blinked and found an Absol staring straight at her and a young guy also trying to comprehend what just happened. "Oh! S-sorry about that! I-I didn't realize I would b-bump into a-anyone here!"
