'So that's Mareek?' Danielle thought as she scratched Eevee behind its ear. 'Slade did tell me about their battle, but I didn't think that Scyther would hold a grudge for so long... Then again, who am I to judge? I did hold on to my fear for 7 years...' She turned back to Mareek and waved. "Nice to meet you, Mareek. Name's Danielle, in case you didn't know~ And my partners here are Avis, that Murkrow, and Corona, my Larvesta who is... Wait a minute." Danielle left the Eevee for a moment to calm down her Larvesta. Once Corona's flames died down, Danielle picked her up and walked back over to them. "Sorry, she gets shy around new people. Don't be afrai;, say hi to everyone, Corona~" Corona peaked behind Danielle's arms and gave a small squeak. When she saw the Scyther, however, she waved a little more cheerfully, obviously comforted by another Bug type's presence with this scary trainer. Avis, who was perching on a branch near their heads, was watching Erce closely just in case she decided to make a wrong move towards her master and Corona. However, Avis did give a nod and a "murkrow" towards Java and Mareek, who seem to be more reasonable than that Scyther. She also saw how Mareek's demeanor seemed to have changed between addressing Slade and Lana. Feeling that this is a good chance for Lana to open up some more, Avis crowed to Danielle and looked at the two boys who are training their Pokemon. "Avis, you're impatient as always~" Danielle teased her bird. "Sorry to break it off, I need to train Avis and Corona, too. Join us when you two are ready, okay?" With that, she gave a nudge to Lana before she went off to prepare her two partners for a little sparing and to practice their combinations. Corona waved goodbye to the Scyther while Avis flew off with them. -

Like Lana, Danielle also jumped as Mareek and his Pokemon approached them. She could have sworn that she had seen him before, but the name slipped from her memory. Being cheerful to everyone, she gave him a welcome anyway. "Hi there! Nice of you to join us!" Then, she heard little sniffing sounds down at her feet. As she looked down, Danielle realized it was the sleeping Eevee. "Aww, hello there little one~" Danielle cooed softly. She knelt down beside the Eevee offered her hand for the Pokemon to sniff. Meanwhile, Corona curled up slightly, releasing sparks of fire around her. She has no clue of who that guy with the creepy Scyther is and new people, besides fire type or bug type Pokemon, often make her feel shy. -
Actually, that was one point I had overlooked. All I can say is that Danielle is not familiar with Cottonee, since the gym doesn't use it. It's such a lame excuse. By the time she found out, she was already used to Doux, so it became a moot point. Fluffiness certainty contributed to her getting over it. I'm glad I got some reactions when JacobxDanielle may not happen, as it relates to how I view some pairings lol!

Danielle would likely want to drag Jacob into Slade's group xD I guess my explanation for the turn of events is Realism. I tend to like stories that can be related to what we experience in real life. DaniellexJacob seems like it's not going to happen now, but it can happen in the future; I do not know. Just because one person likes another, doesn't mean that person will reciprocate the feeling no matter how nice the other one is (or how cute they are together, etc). It's a two way street (for both a possible SladexDanielle and JacobxDanielle). As for the Cleffa... Corona ate her. Danielle, yes, is nervous around them and Electric types. Hence why I said Mawile is going to help her a lot. I get the joke, I think. I keep getting ninja'd -.-

"Yeah, you're right," Danielle agreed with her shy roommate. "It was also a Mawile that helped Avis, but," she sighed, "It's still a Fairy type, so I guess that's why I'm still a bit nervous..." She didn't really know how to explain it. Over the past six weeks, with help from Jacob and Slade, she was slowly able to get over the incident. The lingering thoughts of Fairy and Electric types, however, still remain. "I was hoping that by getting this, I can finally get over my fear of Fairies..." "Ey, both of you your late, oh and I see you brought a friend with you Danielle. Here to train I'm guessing well I'm Slade and the guy over there is Jacob." At the sight of Slade and Jacob, Danielle couldn't resist a grin. "This is my roommate, Lana. Be nice to her or I'll make you pay the price." She found Avis and Corona ready for their training regimens as well. They were hanging around with the other Pokemon while Lana and Danielle were walking along. "Regarding Flame Burst, maybe you want to start slow instead of making it burst already. Avis couldn't perfect her Steel Wing until she got her wings to change into metal, then hitting small objects and finally big objects." Lana was looking at her with a nervous look in her eyes. Danielle gave her a pat on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Slade doesn't bite. Go on and shake his hand~" Danielle said, encouraging her. Although, she did a twinge of... jealousy?... as Slade held out his hand for Lana to shake. -

"Not bad! If you happened to pick up a Trapinch, Jacob can help you raise one since it is his starter. As for my partner, I was thinking about this..." Danielle showed her the Pokedex entry for the Deceiver Pokemon. "It can deal with fairies and my horrendous rock weakness at the moment. But..." she looked down a moment, "I am nervous about getting one. I'm sure you remember me telling you how Avis got injured. Avis and Corona don't seem to mind, but I'm not too sure how it will be for me..." -
Let's just assume Danielle doesn't know that until someone tells her. If I didn't before, I do now~ You know, Danielle hasn't had too much interaction with any of those three... Hmm... I leave it up to you to decide, oh so serious host of mine.

Why Kenny? You seem to be doing a better job at it than me. Chim, make that selection happen xP

Danielle nodded as Lana, Rhy and the sleeping Eevee joined her. "We might as well get in some last minute training before we get out new Pokemon, you know? That way, we can impress our new partner enough to join us!" 'And to see my guy friends one last time before the possible 3 day split' she thought to herself. "Have you decided on who you want yet?" -
I have seen hospital rooms where they have different room numbers, but they share the same bathroom. ^^; Will fix that; I feel bad for poor Lana.
-
I'm confused. I thought Lana and Danielle are in separate rooms? Or is it like two bedrooms joined together by a living room? As for Danielle: Avis, the Murkrow: Level 18 Astonish Pursuit Wing Attack Steel Wing FeatherDance Roost Corona, the Larvesta: Level 20 Ember Flame Charge Leech Life Take Down Morning Sun String Shot

"Food, check; Pokeballs, check; clothes..." Danielle looked to her outfit for tomorrow, "Also check. So, that leaves only two more things to do!" Danielle zipped up her backpack, placed it on top of her clothes, and picked up her Pokedex. "We will start with our new teammate first," she told Avis and Corona, who are sitting together on her bed. "We have a really bad weakness to Rock types now, so I'm thinking about either a Fighting type, a Ground type, or even a Steel type. But," she looked at Avis, "I'm leaning towards Steel so that we can counter both Rock and Fairy." Danielle proceeded to lie down beside them and began searching for notable Steel type Pokemon in her Pokemon encyclopedia. She then put it down on her bed, allowing the Murkrow and Larvesta a choice in deciding their new partner. Avis began shifting through the entries by clicking the "Next" button with her beak while Corona watched and gave comments. Soon enough, Danielle's room filled with "Krow"s and "Lar"s as the two decided on who to pick. Danielle, however, remained silent. Her mind slowly wandered off to the trip they will be partaking, in particular, the cottages that they will be camping out in. 'I wish I could disguise myself so that I can stay with Jacob and... Slade.' she blushed slightly as the mentioned his name. 'It's not like we are going to be doing anything if we are going in groups. How paranoid can the professors be...' "MURKROW!" Avis shouted in her ear, resulting in Danielle almost squishing poor Corona out of shock. Avis sighed inwardly; her master has been drifting off into space lately, kind of like how Jacob does whenever Danielle complemented him. Who in the world could make her this way? She acted fine around Jacob and Slade, it couldn't possibly be them, right? Restraining the urge to ask, Avis proceeded to tap the Pokedex to give her the final choice in their decision. "S-Sorry! You don't have to yell; Lana and her Pokemon are here too, you know." Danielle retorted, not realizing that her head was in the clouds. "So, who did you two decide on?" Corona chirped and pointed at the entry currently shown in the Dex and then clicked another button to bring Danielle to another page. Danielle sat up to get a closer examination of each of them. She was shifting back and forth between the two entries and typing out commands to show each of their potential movesets and skills. Avis and Corona watched her nodding and whispering to herself every once in a while, an occasional shaking of her head means that her decision was coming quickly as Danielle saw potential flaws in each of them. Finally, she landed on one and showed it to her partners with some hesitation. "This will be our new partner." Her Pokemon cried their approval before they ran off to their training spot with Jacob and Slade. Danielle couldn't help but smile at their cheerfulness. Before she followed her Pokemon, she decided to invite Lana, once more, to join them in their training sessions. "Lana! I'm going to meet up with Slade and Jacob! Do you want to come with me?" Her heart was also thumping nervously for some strange reason. -

"Of course we won't forget Chalchi! If fact, I think I have an idea for everyone. But, like Slade says, it's getting late, so how about we all walk and talk to bounce ideas off one another?" Danielle recommended as she put her trays of food into their respective places for cleaning. "Okay, so I was thinking that Chalchi can use Avis as a target..." The two trainers and coordinator were soon heading out of the cafeteria with their Pokemon in tow, all the while talking about various topics about raising Pokemon and what classes were going to be like. At the crossroads, the guys and girl separated and head off to bed to prepare for tomorrow. ((I'm done~)) -

"Umm... I wouldn't--" Danielle started just as Slade received an electric shock to the face by his shiny Magnemite. 101 then resumed his bored expression as Danielle inched carefully around it to help Slade up. While Magnemite is certainly not a Dedenne, the electric attack did freak her out a bit. But Slade's sprawled out expression on the floor did make her chuckle. "Slade, didn't you learn anything about electricity from my story," Danielle quipped, resisting the urge to laugh as she held out her hand to help him back up. She also couldn't help but notice his green eyes that stood out from his mostly red attire. 'He looks good with green..." Danielle thought as her heart began to race. Startled, she quickly looked at TX to see if it was making any movement. As her heart rate returned to normal, she gave her grin once more, dismissing her strange movement as a delayed reaction to TX's Thundershock. "And you still have to introduce me to your amusing Magnemite here." Avis, having a bird's eye, had spotted the strange behavior that overcame Danielle for a split second. Although Danielle quickly recovered, Avis knew that something was up. Maybe she will ask her master when they are back in their room, or wait for it to play out. Avis had a hunch on what that might be, but she will not spill the berries just yet. She flew back to her bowl and continued eating her dinner; for Avis, the Murkrow, this has turned out to be a very interesting day. ((I think this will be my last post for Chapter 1 unless Jory and ExLink have other plans.)) -
Even without the sabotaging, I think the situation will still be fun to watch. Still want my popcorn to enjoy the show when it happens ^^
-
My oh my... Claude trying to sabotage? If this happens, I'll be the first in line to see what happens next.
-
You forgot about the time skip between these 2 chapters (6 weeks iirc). That is more than 1 day~

I thought someone was willing to draw out a map when this started? Woops, my bad. lol! I keep on associating you in the NPC role, so I accidently put Evan there too. Poor guy. Lemme fix that real quick.

Alright since chapter 1 is almost finished I would like to get some feedback from everyone involved; especially since it’s my first time as a host. Be gentle with me Senpai What do you think of the RP so far? Did you enjoy it? I love it. It can be, sometimes, hard to keep up, but I wouldn't want it any other way. What about my writing? Where can I improve? Most of the RPers already said it: The descriptions. Which NPC’s feel real / which NPC’s need improvement? I relate to Lana a bit more than the other student NPCs. It may be because she is always around us unlike Alvin. That being said, the Professors need more improvement so far, but it may be because we are not in the meat of the plot yet where they will get a bigger role. Who is your favorite NPC and why? Surprisingly, it's Alvin. He's too much fun to mess with. Who is your least favorite NPC and why? Why are you making this hard for me Chimchain? Probably... Professor Redwood because he seems a bit bland at the moment. What do you think will happen plot-wise (first year)? Nothing besides the tournaments, building up teams, interactions, and year end party. Since we have 2 more years, I feel that this is going to be a "building the foundation" part of the whole RP. What do you think of me as a host? No complaints. I'm impressed with how you are able to keep up with this RP despite the time zone issue and the rapid pace that the rp is going. Is there anything you like to see as an event in this RP? Perhaps an exploration at sea? I could imagine that it could be quite different from battling on land. Is there anything else I can improve upon? Descriptions of the locations and where they are relative to the dorms. Where is that map you mentioned? What's your favorite ship? KagexRyan is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's not fair to say my favorite one is the one I'm in

Danielle couldn't help but laugh at the little game that Jacob had mentioned. It was so amusing, like a game of whack-a-Drilbur. "Like I said, nothing like a good, amusing story to finish off the night~ Thank you Jacob! Oh! And Teo's little game gave me an idea!" Danielle sat up and leaned across the table. "You know, that little game could help train up our Pokemon. Teo will have to try and evade the Pokemon's moves to avoid getting hit, and his opponents will have to try and be quick enough to hit Teo. It's a win-win situation for both sides! Also," Danielle turns to Slade, "Didn't you mention that Flare has an issue with controlling his fire? I'm sure Corona will gladly help you out when we have to spare, isn't that right, girl?" Corona, still snuggled in her master's embrace, chirped happily. She wouldn't mind helping out a fellow Fire-type. "So, what do you think?" -
I didn't expect myself to reveal mine that early either, but circumstances just presented itself well enough for me to justify it. Also, now the challenge is how Danielle is going to overcome it (and how can I write it). Support helps, but she going to need more than that. Her Mawile is going to help her once she finds him.

Danielle listened on as Slade told them his version of Flare's past before she decided to comment. It hurts to know how this world could be filled with such ignorant people, but she is also comforted by the fact that she wasn't the only one facing it. Yet, in some ways, she felt that Slade had it worse than she and Avis. His parents never really cared for Slade and he and his Growlithe had the whole city against them whereas she and her Murkrow still had the loving support from her parents and a gym leader. By the end of his story, she couldn't help but wipe a few of her tears from her eyes from the sorrow and their kind words of encouragement. She also heard Corona crying down below and scrambled to pick up the Larvesta to hold her. Corona snuggled against her master. She felt guilty about bringing up Danielle's past with her shameful crying on the battlefield. The last thing on her mind is to hurt this kind-hearted trainer who was willing to help this shy Larvesta. "You and Jacob are so silly, feeling guilty over bringing up my past." Danielle finally said as she sat down in her seat once more. "Slade has it worse than me, you two should feel guilty about bringing up their life story." She paused to gather her thoughts before continuing. "Slade, I could tell this is also hard for you and Flare. You only brought it up to make me feel better. For that, I offer my sincerest thanks. You and Jacob have no idea how important it was for me to know that I have support from all sides while I stumbled through that monologue. I was afraid that you two would laugh and say I was weak; I'm glad to say that I was wrong. All I can say is that now that we are here, we can face those dark times and get through them together." With that, she gave a smile, not the one she usually uses when she teases people, not a fake one, but a genuine, warm smile. Avis, who was on her shoulder the whole time, tickled her master's face with her wing and crowed happily. Danielle giggled and stroked her wing, eliciting a soft cry from her troublemaking partner. "Well, enough of my cheesy fluff. Jacob, like Slade said, now it's your turn! Nothing like a light-hearted story to end off the night! But, if it's just as horrible as ours, well, it still works as long as it makes you feel better!"
