  1. That's up to you. Just don't do a serious conversation or something since Chapter 3 starts at the Winter Cup. Quick reminder: Coordinators can do something special at the end of day 1 (official opening), Snap will finally join the Academy and Bfroger had something planned for Shiro to take his break.
  2. Stratos (And basically everyone else) “I found two!” Lana said with pride. She felt confident about both her new additions and released them to show to Mareek. The first one was a Shellos, the other a little Turtwig. “I haven’t na-“ She was interrupted by Alastair who called for the last battle of the day; Lana versus Alvin. The female Breeder decided to use her Shellos, Turtwig was under leveled, and faced off against Dwebble. The Shellos proved to be quite a tough one. She took a few hits but managed to eventually defeat her opponent. The second round was Alvin’s new Heracross versus Rhyhorn. The Bug type proved to be a ferocious opponent Lana failed to overcome. Rhyhorn lost and Shellos was too tired from the first fight. Alvin cheered his new ace on and actually had the decency to tell Lana she put up a great fight. Not much later the teachers gathered everyone and walked back to the hotel where the black busses were waiting. Everyone just had to tell their names as the teachers didn’t bother dividing Trainers from the Breeders and Coordinators like before. Jory “Skarrrr” the steel bird almost purred when she managed to get some attention from Jacob. She then pointed with her wing to where Evan was sitting, not far from Mareek and the ongoing battle between Alvin and Lana. The Skarmory hopped back over to her trainer and saw Alvin barely pulling through. And 30 minutes later Jacob, along with the other students, found himself sitting on a bus. ((A little rushed but I'm really tired. Anyway Chapter 3 is coming ASAP.))
  3. Evs and IVs aren't included in the world. There is an option to do special training which you can see as 'EV' training. Consider all Pokémon to have 31 IVs in every stat if you want. Or 0, whatever works for you. As for Hidden Power; yes. A Breeder can tell the difference. A Trainer / Coordinator can either try it out against different opponents or go to the Lab. Professor Redwood has an Hidden Power Calculator. (Again all attacks are maxed power. The machine just tells the type.)
  4. That changes things. It can't be helped so I'll keep that in mind. The Frogadier is still down though.
  5. I'm getting close to just calling the battle a tie. Anyway Frogadier is down and the Tyrunt shouldn't be able to take more damage either.
  6. Stratos Lana was glad she could help. “Don’t worry about it. That’s where friends are for, right?” She gave Mareek a small smile in the hope he would cheer up again. Jory Kristen was inside her room. She was still raging she lost again Danielle and wasn’t planning to talk to someone soon. However a certain steel bird’s eye fell on Jacob and Arete. She knew this boy. This was the same human that helped out her trainer when he was in trouble, so they were friends right? And if they were she had to do the polite thing; introduce herself. She hopped over and stared Jacob in the face. “Skaar!” she yelled proud and happy. Murdoc and ExLink Sasuke’s Water Pulse missed target. He was too exhausted and took too much damage already. Taking hits wasn’t exactly a strong point in the Greninja-line. Sasuke lost consciousness and was unable to battle. ((This is getting ridiculous and taking way too long. You’re at it for a week already))
  7. Sigurd walked over to Curfew with a rumbling stomach and his arms loaded with wood. “Here you go,” he tried to take a peek in the massive pot, “I don’t think I ever had gumbo… it sounds delicious…” The Wind Templar was almost salivating as he casually tried to start a conversation with Gnoll chef.
  8. That's because you left no opening. You had all the advantages; typing match-up, moveset, combinations to make, ... I didn't say anything about it because you were new and things like that happen. At this point that isn't an excuse anymore since there has been enough discussion already when it comes to power playing and people dodging everything.
  9. There's still another match going on so you aren't the only ones holding things up. And just so eveyone knows; I'm keeping track of people that aren't willing to lose and where I don't see character development because of it. If they keep going like this I will make them lose at some point. Probably in chapter 3 since there are a lot of battles.
  10. Or you allow a Pokémon to go down on your side. You can't expect someone to lose a fight if you aren't willing to lose yourself.
  11. Alright I'm lurking around again. Last days were a bit hectic and I still have to find the balance between work and something that has to count as a life. I still have to read up but seriously; it's about time someone goes down in the ongoing battles... Everyone still seems to have both Pokémon after multiple posts...
  12. Stratos Lana had no idea how to help Mareek. She had no experience dealing with stuff like this. All she could do was sit next to the boy. “You aren’t anything like him. It isn’t uncommon to use electric attacks in water. I’ve seen other, less skilled, students do it. And your reaction says enough. You only ordered that attack because Java was safe. You clearly put some thought in it and that’s not what I call being reckless.” The breeder twirled some leaves in the grass. “And I just know you won’t ever order an attack against someone else.”
  13. DarkLight With no room to dodge Skrelp went down. Kristen hissed in frustration and recalled her Pokémon before storming off and mumbling something about being lucky. ((I won't be only for quite a while since I have work first thing in the morning. I just didn't want to hold DarkLight up.))
  14. DarkLight Skrelp and Kristen weren’t impressed. “Use Acid on those feathers!” The poisonous substance quickly covered the feathers and cleared the field. Skrelp located Avis almost immediately. “Feint Attack!” The poison type approached Avis, pretending to surrender, before throwing a punch with his tail.
  15. DarkLight Kristen hissed when her plan failed. She hoped to smack Avis into the ground, where it belonged, but her agility was too much for her Pokémon in his current state. To make things worse the close ranged Dark Pulse did a lot of damage. Skrelp was shaking up and glanced at his trainer, hoping she would have a plan. “Smokescreen! And follow it up with an Acid Armor! Let the bird come to you,” Kristen ordered. A black smoke covered half the field and hid the Skrelp who covered himself in a thick poisonous substance to increase defenses.
  16. DarkLight “Brace for impact and use Poison Tail!” The Skrelp got ready and focused on Avis, his tail dripping with poison. As soon as the bird flew into range the poison type quickly used his tail to jump up, made a flip, and came crashing down with a poison covered tail. Avis had enough time to dodge, but if she didn’t Skrelp would also take damage from the incoming unavoidable attack. ((You can decide. Skrelp can’t dodge and goes in for a reckless attack)) Stratos Evan was luring the Vulpix and ordered it to play with the rest of his team. In the meantime he failed to notice Lana had gotten up which resulted in Skarmory demanding his attention again. While he was being occupied, Lana walked over to Mareek. She noticed wasn’t his usual self and after the look for help from Cubone she couldn’t sit around doing nothing. “Uhm, Mareek, are you alright?” she whispered so only he and Nemo could hear it. “You don’t act like your usual self, is it because you lost the battle? Or maybe about your brother?”
  17. Noted. It's possible the battles are still going by then. Also I start working tomorrow so updates will be less frequent.
  18. "I suggest we do as he says." Trystane addressed the whole group. "Does anyone need anything besides the obvious food and water from the city shops?"
  19. DarkLight Kristen started laughing when she saw the failed attempt. “I knew you were all talk, but to think you were this weak! Your first Pokémon can’t even pull off an attack; it’s says a lot about you as a trainer! Skrelp, show her how it’s done! Use Acid!” A spray of acid quickly found its way towards Avis. With a bit of luck it would also stick to her feathers. Stratos “Sorry about that,” Evan apologized. “My Pokémon are rather curious and playful.” He pointed towards the Clefairy chasing Vaporeon. “I caught that Vulpix before I fell after I gave her some food.” The little fox walked circles around Nemo while sniffing. This was her first time seeing this particular Pokémon and it peeked her interest. “Your team has changed to much since I last saw them,” Lana suddenly said. This time she was stuck petting the Skarmory. “Both your Pokémon evolved and you have two new Pokémon. You’re going to be a force to reckon with during the Winter Cup,” she said in a friendly tone. She was completely unaware that Evan’s team changes, aside from the Vulpix, weren’t completely innocent.
  20. It happened to me once when I tried quoting Murdoc. I have no idea how I fixed it though... But we can read it so it really doesn't matter.
  21. DarkLight "Dodge it and finish it off with a Water Pulse!" Skrelp easily dodged the incoming Mawile and fired another Water Pulse from close range.
  22. DarkLight The charade fooled the Skrelp, but not Kristen. “Don’t fall for it! That thing is trying to trick you! It loves to battle and has a nasty arrogant look when it fights!” Kristen’s words got through. The Skrelp started to get mad about being tricked. “Double Water Pulse!” The first attack was aimed directly at Jared while the other one would impact the area right behind the hole.
  23. How about a reaction thread to stories? Can be in general or for a specific story. I remember they had it on a Dutch forum I used to be on. It keeps the CW thread from being flooded with reactions and that way you can actually read the story instead of scrolling down numerous reactions in between chapters.
  24. DarkLight The attack knocked Marill out, unable to continue the battle. “Take a good rest, Lady,” Kristen whispered, “I won’t lose this one!” Due to the rules she had to use her latest catch. It wasn’t ideally since she hadn’t much time to bond with the Skrelp, but her Vullaby was weak to Fairy attacks anyway. “Skrelp, let’s finish this!” she hissed in anger. She wasn’t about to lose against Danielle of all people. The nameless Skrelp seemed hyped and glared at his opponent. “Water pulse!” A blue water orb was fired at Jared and would hopefully knock him out.
