  1. I remember reading something about a bad reputation as a forest guardian. DarkLight considered it. Not sure what she's planning now.
  2. Absol -> disasters Krookodile -> violent (same as Drapion / Hydreigon) Houndoom -> calls Grim Reaper and everlasting painful burns (dammit now I want one xD) Honchkrow Spiritomb -> mischief Malamar -> makes you his minion Shiftry
  3. Has anyone seen Tacos around lately? Also, Azery, if you want to cover fighting / psychic you can consider Malamar or Pangoro / Scrafty
  4. You had doubts about to pick which water/dark type, but Sharpedo had the advantage because it can mega-evolve. M-Houndoom and M-Sableye were also mentioned. Because I like Mega Camerupt and it would be something unique to say the least.
  5. M-Banette should fit in James's team or Houndoom. My original idea was to let it behave like it came straight out of hell but that would make Evan too hard to approach. Or if you aren't going with your first idea to create a mono ghost / ghost-dark team; Mega Camerupt.
  6. Evan's mega will be Medicham. And Murdoc might have planned Gallade but I'm not sure.
  7. Depends on the Pokémon. Skarmory is important for the story and Clefairy was to show another side of Evan. I haven't really done much with Vaporeon and Ninetales, but Vaporeon should get more screen time after Evan makes his decision. Another one I have planned is also going to be important and with a team between 8-10 Pokémon it's too much to treat them all as main characters. Work for it. He's hard to approach and I originally planned for him to join RoG. If you want to change his mind you need to put some effort into it. xD
  8. I use the sounds they make but only when the Pokémon is important in that scène. Also I just realized Henry is probably the closest one to Evan. Awkward.
  9. DarkLight and Dobby Ah he hit a nerve. Excellent. Danielle’s anger worked satisfying. “Skarmory wants to be with me?” Evan asked Claude. “I dare you to say you like the bird and want to be her trainer. Her reaction should be priceless. She’s lonely, found me and stalks me, that’s all it is.” He shrugged and put his hands in his pockets while the steel bird hopped over. He then turned his attention back to Danielle“At least I can control my Pokémon instead of coming with that lame ‘Iwannabeherfriend’ bullshit. Maybe you are the one who isn’t cut out to be a trainer… Anyway I lost interest in this so remember this Princess; one more glare from that black chicken and I will pluck her.” Evan walked towards the exit when he remembered something. “Hey, Claude, where did my brother go?”
  10. That was just to point out one of the Pokémon noticed Evan has more Pokémon besides the ones that are known. I'm giving Danielle's Pokémon (and them only) some extra information about Skarmory and Evan's Pokémon to make him suspicious. I prefer if people do it that way instead of using 'Togepi pi pi toge toge'. (Just an example, not saying you do that)
  11. I've also watched the first 20 minutes. Their experience is completely different from mine so I'll just talk about how I created Ymora / my preferences. When it comes to world-building I prefer the Gygaxian way. I'll admit Pokémon isn't that hard to create and everyone here is familiar with it but I still gave it my own twists about how I think it should be. I also made a completely different Region so I think it's important to create as much as possible. Also because everyone knows Pokémon I had to create a completely different history which leads to questions from the players. First I started with the location compared to the other Regions, excluding those like Orre. From there on out I could create a climate, locations, ... many more details that only I know. After all the players are in 'my' world and if I want them to get used to it, I feel like I should know as much as possible. Of course there are things a host can't foresee. Many of my players picked Hoenn as their home and questions rose about Hoenn Academy etc. Also some people mentioned how little kids defeated crime organizations, something I wanted to avoid, but because I didn't mention it I just had to roll with it. (Not that it made such an impact but it's to show how easily minor details can be forgotten if they aren't mentioned) Some things are just impossible to know for players so I added as much information as possible and answered questions. That's why I prefer the Gygaxian way. However I also think a host should listen to his players suggestions. I remember Murdoc suggesting to befriend legendaries to give something extra. I thought about it, could fit it easily in the story and gave him the first encounter. (His character is best suited for it) But I would only do it if it adds something extra. (Another reason why creating as much details as possible comes in handy) When it comes to the actual story I prefer the middle way. I know what I want to reach at the end of each year and always change the middle part. Players should also have the feeling they can change things. It's the first RP I'm hosting so I tried to create that feeling by creating my PC. Right now I have between 4-8 possible outcomes by only letting the players influence my PC. The rest is up to me by creating situations to test them and maybe even get a completely different outcome. I forgot to add my conclusion: World-building: Gygaxian Actual story: Balance between Gygaxian and only planning slighly ahead
  12. Logan was about to follow Lars when he heard a female voice. He quickly jumped against the wall, trying to hide from view, and released Ace. It sounded like they either reached the edge of the Urban Games Area or ran into an enemy. “Go around and surprise them from behind with your fire attacks. Wait for my signal!” Ace nodded and ran off in search for a second door or an open window.
  13. Sigurd’s patience was running low. He didn’t care about the man in front of him or his town. All the Wind Templar could think of was killing Ashnard. “Move,” he said hostile, “We’re hunting the bastard who’s responsible. I doubt you can stop him even if you’re equipped so let us through if you want to save your village.”
  14. Hosts (Turbo) “Shall I introduce our next block?” Professor Redwood asked politely before Marco had the chance. The host was still unaware that Devin was glaring at him every time he even made a motion to yell in his mic again. “Without further ado; Robert and Laura are next up. Both of them are in the trainer program and while Robert uses different types, Laura tends to stick with Fighting.” DarkLight and Dobby “I merely gave you the same treatment that stupid bird gives me. Even though I don’t even talk to you, she keeps glaring. One more time and I’ll force Henry to switch battles so I can pick that black chicken feather by feather,” Evan said, completely ignoring both Kenny and Claude. “And if you’re so concerned about Skarmory, here you go!” With a quick motion he grabbed Skarmory’s Pokéball and recalled the steel bird before tossing it over to Danielle. “You can have it since I’m obviously not qualified to be her trainer.” While he grabbed the Pokéball, the other Pokéballs he carried became visible for a small moment, revealing he had 4 others with him. Evan secretly hoped Danielle would accept the bird. That thing never left him alone and drew too much attention. He tried giving it the cold shoulder but so far there wasn’t any improvement. Not even two seconds later the Pokéball opened again. “Skaar!” she cried with enthusiasm. Making an entrance was always fun and a great way to gain attention, but this time something was off. Why was she with the girl? Did she steal him from Evan?
  15. I'll just ignore that comment and give him another chance to interact after I had the chance to update. Unless he ninja's me and can edit first. Edit: About Claude's battle; I already said you could just mention your PC won without going into detail so that's fine by me. The only reason I'm doing the first round is to see which Pokémon are used by those who have 4 so they don't have an advantage over those with only 3 Pokémon.
  16. Hosts (Dobby) “We’re almost through the first round! Only 5 matches remain. Next up are Kyle and Victoria, professor Redwood, tell us something about these trainers,” Marco yelled. He was completely unaware that Devin had it with the yelling in his mic and was about to take it away. Redwood pretended he didn’t see Devin’s annoyance and continued with the show. “Kyle, or Claude as he likes to be called, is considered the top Coordinator when it comes to battle skills. He has quite a unique team which he uses in interesting ways. His imagination is probably his strongest point. Victoria on the other hand is pretty straightforward. She’s in the trainer program and is one of the more attack-orientated people in the entire school. Dobby, Commander, Azery, Tacos, Zephyr Before Jaime or anyone else could react, Phoebe showed up. “Oi, Fruity, you’re up before I drag you to the field!” Jaime chuckled when he saw the unorthodox teacher. "Yeah, Claude, make sure to win! And don't forget I expect to see rainbows when you battle. According to your friends here you're the guy to do just that," he waved as Phoebe was about to drag Claude away. DarkLight Yes, confrontation, perfect. “And when did I ever talk to you except when you were dumb enough to try and admire a rampaging Hydreigon from up close?” Evan asked, using the same sarcasm as Danielle. “It’s that stupid bird of yours that keeps glaring every single time I’m around and that’s my problem. I know you like to meddle in affairs that aren’t yours, but why don’t you teach your Pokémon some manners and stay out of my way…” He didn’t finish his sentence, but his hostile attitude was clear. He wasn’t dumb enough to play the sarcastic game with this girl as his patience was already very low when it came to her and Avis.
  17. I know I put something up that I made in Paint. I updated it in the character overview as well.
  18. Some people don't have much to do right now. It's partly my fault since I've been busy and haven't really had the time to come up with something to keep them busy... Except for pushing Danielle's buttons. For now only Snap and Tses disappeared and I have no idea what Bfroger is planning. @Azery: I don't remember giving you Ymora's map? xD Anyway it looks far better compared to what I made.
  19. Dobby, Commander, Azery, Tacos, Zephyr Lily giggled when petting the Delcatty before the newcomer’s Litwick stole the show. At first she backed down by the hostile behavior, but when the ghost type regained his senses she found the little candle cute. The young girl did a step towards Raiza but was stopped by her elder brother. He shook his head. “Let the Litwick be for a while and let’s go buy an ice cream instead. Evan can wait,” he grinned. DarkLight “Tell that to that annoying black chicken of yours. It keeps glaring at me. If she got a problem just come out with it.” Hearing the hostility her trainer used, Skarmory stopped to try and get attention. Instead she stared from Danielle to Evan and back like watching a game of tennis.
  20. I forgot she evolved... it's fine, just something that slipped my mind so I'll edit my post.
  21. Dobby, Commander, Azery and Tacos Lily giggled when Claude whispered in her ear. “Yes, I do! What kind of secret?” she asked, trying to cover her mouth as well before noticing the Delcatty. Torn between the cute cat and a secret were too much for the young girl. She did her best in luring the Delcatty with her hand while keeping her head high enough so Claude could tell her the secret. Jaime just laughed when he saw the group in front of him. “Ymora sure is filled with a lot of interesting students… You almost make Hoenn look boring!” DarkLight Evan noticed Avis’s staring and gave her the same treatment. To be honest he had enough about the Murkrow’s unnecessary meddling and wondered why that stupid bird and Danielle’s other Pokémon were interested in Skarmory. Where they on to something? Maybe he should keep an eye on the most annoying duo in the Academy. In the meantime the steel bird had noticed her trainer and hopped over, only to be ignored because Evan was still staring at Avis and Danielle.
  22. It's a CW not a RP. I can't handle running another one at this point.
  23. Dobby, Commander and Azery Claude and Henry’s conversation was amusing to watch. Jaime couldn’t help but grin while Lily stayed behind him. She was far younger and was a bit intimidated by all these trainers showing up. And when James asked her big brother about Evan, she wondered why he didn’t ask her. Was she that different? Jaime gave her a quick wink and turned to the new student, his face dead serious. “Evan? Can’t say I heard about him. But if I look like him, he must be handsome! Ain’t that right, Claude?” he asked, nudging the Coordinator in the ribs. “Or did your eye already catch a certain someone…” Jaime’s gaze turned to Henry. His serious face showed signs of him trying to hold in his laughter. DarkLight Skarmory shook her head. She didn’t know anything about names or locations as she barely left the underground structure. Even if she was allowed outside it was to train and nothing else. The only thing she knew was that they gave her to Evan in order to convince the boy in joining them.
  24. If Murdoc agrees that's fine by me. Use a Fairy type to make his life hell Anyway I'm going to start working on the updates. Also there may be a side story popping up somewhere in the near future. It won't interfere with anything I planned in the RP. The story takes place in Hoenn Academy.
  25. I don't have the time to update everyone else. I just quickly scanned through the posts. If someone wants to battle Murdoc by controlling the NPC go ahead. The other updates are coming as soon as I have the time, but it may not be until Monday.
