Lileep can be really fun to use. And for those that don't want species clause: Kay's team (more or less): Torterra, Liepard, Garbodor, Braviary, Kangaskhan, Jellicent or Swirlix. He will most likely only get 6 and obtain them at a very low level to be on par with the PCs. Samantha's team: Infernape, Darmanitan, Charizard. Potential: Typhlosion, Rotom-Heat, Magmortar. Not 100% sure yet because she doesn't have a 'theme' like Kay. Matt... Well I don't care. As long as it's fast and hits hard he will use it. (Hence why I haven't revealed his second pick) Of course I can still change some things around. And if I get enough replies in the IC I can devide everyone in groups and move on towards the breeding facility. -
Outside - Brendan Dang it! The Treecko had a way to attack from a distance. Now their chances to actually win this battle became even smaller and Brendan had no idea what to do. He wasn’t quick enough to come up with a strategy and saw how the vines almost leached onto Titan. Luckily for the amateur trainer his Roggenrola wasn’t faced by the attack. A soft, faint blue covered the rock type, raising his defense. Brendan was dumbfounded. He figured his partner used Harden by instinct, but he didn’t see how this would be helpful. But he had no idea either so he just watched as the vines reached Titan. One of them seemed to slightly bump of the hardened rocky skin while the other two sucked away the Roggenrola’s health. The Mantle Pokémon bowed a little, trying to make himself as small as possible, to try and withstand the attack. Brendan figured it was another natural reaction but it did gave him an idea. “Titan, use all your weight and jump backwards! Reel in that Treecko and hit it with a tackle!” The rock type struggled since he wasn’t all that flexible but managed to stay on his feet after the soft landing. He placed himself quite firm on the ground and used all his weight again so he could slam the Treecko as hard as possible.

Not sure if I want to give Kay a Trubbish or a Rufflet... And this should be a rather short chapter to get the actual story started. -

This specific chapter - not counting RoG antics- focuses on refusing students powerhouses because they aren't ready yet. I'm analyzing every interaction a PC had with Pokémon, including the way they fought. Salamence - Garchomp - Tyrantrum - Hydreigon - T-tar are the 5 most dangerous species. This way I can create another way for a PC to grow. And I'm kinda worried everyone wants those Pokémon. But I can't ban all the popular ones. That being said if I can't find any decent flaws I will hand them out. And if you want one later down the line you have to fill in a form and hand it over to Redwood / Devin. But if I were you I would do it before the second year. -
Ymora Academy Chapter 2: Breeding Dragons [IC]
Chim replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Immediately after the first students left the Contest Hall, every single Pokédex started to beep. The Academy had sent an official message to all first year students. It was short and very simple: What kind of Pokémon do you wish to obtain during the excursion? Dragon Type Beldum or Larvitar Other All three answers could potentially be chosen by selecting the small boxes. There was also some space left for students to type in a specific Pokémon if they had made up their minds. A lot of students immediately answered. Matt for example almost smashed his Pokédex when he tried to select his choice. Kay on the other hand didn't care and selected all three options. And then there was Samantha. She obviously chose the last option and tried to fill the blank space with as many fire types she could spell in two minutes. The replies were automatically registered in a small database that Redwood would be using. In the next few hours he would determine who would get their pick based on the earlier results, since some Pokémon could only be obtained by following strict protocol. -

Yeah well I figured out something else to get some type of confirmation. Because obviously Redwood is going to refuse handing over specific Dragons (and Larvitars) to everyone. -

The main reason I ended that way was to let the students mention what type of Pokémon they want if it's not a dragon. So far I only know Ragnar is going for Shinx so I know I need a wild Shinx somewhere. I was hoping to see some interaction where people would ask each other since no one, except Ragnar, reacted to it in the OOC. -

Only the first roll. And yes, Herman will be incredibly bulky. Kay typically trains his Pokémon only where their strengths lie. Unlike Matt who only focuses on offense and speed. And Toshiro would've won against Princess without a doubt. But Kay and Matt have way more experience when it comes to battling. They were specially trained so when they use their aces against newly obtained Pokémon, they basically can't lose. -
A month had passed at a rapid rate. All students had to take many tests; from knowledge to skill. Earlier this week there were two unexpected ones. The first test had many ‘what if’ cases while the second one tested knowledge many first years didn’t possess. The teachers claimed that many of these questions were supposed to be answered during future lessons but that they wanted to see what the level of the basic knowledge was amongst the new students. Those test were by far the hardest but no grades were given. No one knew how well –or bad- they had scored. Rumors, started by second and third years, said that the ‘what if’ cases were the most important written test. None of the teachers was willing to deny or confirm this. Not even Archibald Fisher who snarled at the students at every possible chance he got. A lot of students couldn’t help but wonder how well they had done. Even if they didn’t want to obtain a restricted Pokémon. Of course there were a few exceptions. Samantha was as lively as usual during every test she had to take and Kay didn’t seem to struggle in the least. Matt performed well in the field tests but struggled when it came to the written knowledge tests. He always denied it when Kay started to tease very subtly. Aside from that the RoG agents barely spoke. When they first received their orders Matt was adamant about obtaining a dragon type. He even went so far as to claim that Kay’s participation in this mission wasn’t needed. Kay just accepted it without a discussion, until Matt mentioned Samantha. Apparently he was convinced the redhead was another RoG member, but Kay wasn’t. It didn’t make any sense for a fellow agent to show up out of nowhere without them knowing. He had told Matt to worry about the Dragon mission while he focused on finding out more about Samantha. A week had passed without much progress when Kay saw his change to get to know the redhead. But so far he had failed to get any more information from her. Her existence was an absolute mystery to him. And to Kay’s annoyance he didn’t have much free time due to all those tests. Luckily for him, and the other students, the end was near. Tomorrow they would leave for a 3 day field trip. That’s why all the first years were gathered once more in the Contest Hall where Devin Cadmus would hold a small speech concerning the Breeding Facility. The Elite Four Member’s presence alone was enough to keep everyone quiet. And like usual he didn’t waste any time. “Some of you might remember that this Facility we’re going to visit, belongs to a good friend of mine: Alastair Connor. He’s considered the most knowledgeable, and probably best, breeder in this entire region. We used to travel together back in our days and his strength rivaled mine until we followed different paths. But even to this day his main team can rival the Elite Four. This alone should be enough to show you all that Alastair isn’t just a breeder willing to help us out.” The tone Devin spoke with made it clear he would not allow anyone to be disrespectful when in presence of his oldest friend. His eyes quickly scanned the crowd before he continued. “This particular Dragon Facility has a few branches. You all saw a map when Professor Redwood talked about this and you received one in the documents you got earlier this week. The main building focuses on the scientific process and analysis of the produced eggs. Another one holds all the eggs and there’s even an entire area for young dragons. But there’s one building that located far from the others.” Behind the scenes Tyron Silva had been waiting for Devin to reach this part of the speech. He immediately dimmed the lights and started the giant projector once again. The map showed for about a minute with one building being marked with a red circle. The next slide showed the building in more details. It was massive. Bigger than the dorms and the main academy building combined. It was entirely made out of cold, brick walls enforced with steel. “This building is dangerous. No one is allowed to go there unless you are supervised. This building holds the strongest of dragons who were abused or hunted down. They do not like humans and perceive them as a threat. In order to defend themselves, they will attack on sight. NEVER go there!” Devin waited a few minutes to let his warning sink in. “Now that’s out of the way, let’s talk about Roman Connor. He will be around for the entire three days. This won’t mean anything to any of you because I’m pretty sure most of you, if any, have ever heard about him. He’s the head of the Dragon Repopulation Project and has close ties with the official Ymora League. He also used to be the head of the Breeders Association but he resigned when he was placed in charge of the Anti-Hunter Movement. This means he’s the only man in Ymora who is tied with the 3 most powerful and influential organizations in this region. The first one being the Ymora League. They govern the gym leaders, trainers, coordinators and many other things that are related to professional battling involving Pokémon. The second one is the Breeders Association. All of you, especially the Breeders, should know about this organization. Everything involved with Breeding is their responsibility as well as keeping an eye on the wild Pokémon. Alastair is currently the second most influential man in this organization. Roman used to lead this one until he stepped back. The third organization is the Military Police. They handle everything that involves crime. Recently they started a new project in co-operation with the Breeders Association: The Anti-Hunter Movement. Roman Connor is the current head which means he has a busy schedule. For him to take 3 days off to educate you all is a unique chance. It will be your first contact with the professional world and a chance to make connections for your future.” The slideshow stopped and the lights went back on. That was all for this small announcement. You have the rest of the afternoon free to prepare for the upcoming three days.

Chapter 2 is coming. There is a small timeskip so max level between 10 - 12. If anyone wants another Pokémon aside from a Dragon type, let me know. Other Pseudo's are also available so from now on all Pokémon, except Legendary, are obtainable. But keep in mind Pseudo's and most Dragons don't just run around in the wild, including the Academy's forest. -
Ymora Academy Chapter 1: Bonds [IC]
Chim replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
A lot of students were watching the last ongoing battles between Kay, Toshiro, Claude, Drake, Samantha and her opponent. Especially the last battle seemed to draw a lot of attention. Many students that had watched Samantha were impressed. At first glance the redhead looked like an easy, airheaded opponent. At least that’s what her male opponent thought when he challenged her with his Buizel. Only to be knocked out by Samantha’s Darumaka in two hits. The match was over in less than a minute and the young boy was on his knees, utter shock on his face. How? This was their first battle and they had the advantage… How could this loud mouthed girl be so good already? Samantha’s actions right after the battle made her opponent feel even worse. Caesar, her Darumaka, was hopping from one feet on another like a weird victory dance. Both Samantha and Louis the Chimchar had copied the movements, making her look like she was doing a weird street performance. All the excitement had caught Kay’s attention. His battle against Toshiro wasn’t all that far from Samantha’s field and they had clear vision of what was going on. Kay’s eyes widened in surprise when he saw the redhead, right when Panzer was about to roll over his Turtwig. “Herman, stop that Phanpy!” he ordered. The grass type raised his defense before slamming full weight into the rolling baby elephant, stopping it in its tracks. It was only a quick glance at Kay’s real skills. Not many people paid much attention to it because they cheered heavily for Panzer. “Good battle, Toshiro! It’s your win! I lost the moment I withdrew Princess.” A smile played on Kay’s face as he scratched the Turtwig under the chin. Princess, the Purrloin, was still glaring at the Phanpy before hissing at the closest people. During the entire battle a lot of the spectators were scowling at Kay’s actions. Cheater, I hope you lose and cheering for Panzer to crush the Turtwig were some of the ‘friendliest’ comments. The young RoG member didn’t seem to care. He had other worries on his mind. Matt was one of the students belonging to the crowd. He knew exactly why Kay wasn’t fazed in the slightest. In fact something similar had happened during their training. A few of their fellow trainees saw Kay as an easy opponent, including him. Until one of them was dumb enough to arrogantly challenge Kay and when he lost, blamed his Pokémon. Some abuse happened and a day later Kay’s opponent had a broken arm and cried as he apologized to the Pokémon he had traumatized. From that moment Matt saw Kay’s real personality. His roommate was cold, calculating and a very dirty fighter. In Matt’s eyes that wasn’t real strength. Even now, as he watched Kay leave, he felt nothing but disgust. The second RoG member quickly left as well to watch the final battle. That tall girl looked like she could put up a fight and until their mission actually made some progression, Matt decided to hunt for strong trainers. Drake, by first glance, could be someone on his list. After Redwood explained how the rest of the month would go, Matt continued doing what he did. He and Kay had received word that their first task would start at the Dragon Breeding Facility at the end of the month. They were ordered to make decent progression, without standing out, so at least one of them could obtain a dragon type. Matt interpreted the instructions his own way and decided to track down the strongest students. It wasn’t until two days after the first battle, Matt finally managed to track down Samantha. He had heard about her battle and was shocked when he saw her. What the hell was the top trainee from their squad during here? End of chapter 1 -
Outside – Brendan Brendan took his time scanning both Pokémon with his Pokédex. He wasn’t very familiar with the Treecko-line but it seemed very agile and fast, unlike his Roggenrola. This was probably the worst match-up out of all the Pokémon currently present. “Alright, let’s see what you can do, Titan!” Brendan enthusiastically yelled. After a quick look at his partner’s moves on the Pokédex, the amateur trainer came to a decision. “Keep Gomez away from you. Use Rock Blast!” Titan immediately responded. In front of the hexagonal, yellow part of his body formed a small rock that was quickly hurled at where Gomez was standing. This process was repeated two more times. Brendan could only watch as all three rocks formed a straight line towards the Treecko. ((OOC: I’m using a random number generator for Rock Blast.))

Well I was just thinking that the battle wasn't all that important to wait on and I could just move things forward. But of course right when I decide to do that, I drop my battery charger and it breaks. And my friend currently has my other charger from my old laptop. I have no choice but to use the broken one (I'm at 17% right now) until I can go pick the other one up. So if I'm not online for a bit that means I either got zapped into oblivion because I touched the cables that I can see hanging or I haven't been able to go to my friend yet to pick up my old charger. The earliest I can go pick it up is sunday. -
Poor Brendan. As soon as that Chimchar evolves he'll have a disadvantage against everyone... I didn't expect people to pick so many starters though.
-
Outside - Brendan When the group reached the battlefields, Brendan was focused on the young kids. He had listened to their introductions out of respect, but he was far more curious to see which Pokémon they had gotten. Titan was standing next to him without moving an inch, just like in the lab. Even when Brendan was circling around and studying his Roggenrola from every possible angle, the rock type hadn’t moved. But he did follow closely behind to reach outdoors. Before he could see the kid’s Pokémon, Brendan noticed Jason coming over. He chuckled slightly when he accepted the brown-haired boy’s challenge. “I think I’ve heard the same thing so I’ll accept. And don’t worry about going easy on us. We won’t go down without a fight!” The Roggenrola at his feet gave a small nod in appreciation and hopped over towards the first battlefield.

Oh? Was that Gengar picking a fight with him? Perfect. Ishmael was itching to go head to head since the Gengar had displayed her power. Could he win? Maybe. He hadn’t seen quite on opponent like this ghost before. Maybe if he could land a nice little Crunch… But his human trainer would never allow it. Ishmael knew that. So what about a friendly sparring match? Just taking a little nibble out of this Gengar sure wouldn’t hurt, right? And he longed for it. The bloodthirst he felt after the giant from before went down was intoxicating. Not to mention the adrenalin that kept pumped through his veins this entire time. He wanted to let loose so bad. And if this Gengar was looking for a fight, Ishmael would give her one. The Gyarados quickly glanced at his trainer before slithering over to the levitating ghost. In the meantime Joey was confused. He had no idea why this girl just complemented him. “Err, thanks, I guess? I’m not sure what I did though,” he mumbled while scratching the back of his head. The water trainer turned towards his oldest partner to see if he had done something. He was just on time to see Ishmael move over towards the Gengar. Joey instantly realized that his Gyarados was trying to pick a fight. Again. And this time he was challenging a powerful ally while they just barely won their last battle and weren’t safe at all. “Ishmael, stop it! This is not the time to be picking fights!” Joey stopped his Gyarados on time. “Don’t forget that Gengar’s trainer is the one who allowed us on this ship.” Ishmael froze. His human had a point. That guy was something else and if he wanted to become even stronger, maybe that guy could give his trainer some advice. The Gyarados was torn but decided to back down. For now. He glared at the Gengar, trying to make eye contact, so he could make clear their battle was on hold. He would definitely battle her later.

Lab - Brendan Brendan eagerly looked around the lab. It wasn’t exactly what he wanted to do later, he wanted to do fieldwork, but it came close. He carefully avoided coming close to Bianca like he had done the entire time. She was just too much for him to deal with and he was glad when they finally met professor Juniper. I wonder what kind of Pokémon I will get… was all Brendan could think about. No matter how much he did his best to listen to what Juniper had to say, nothing really stuck with him until she handed out the Pokédex and told the group where their Pokémon were waiting. Brendan was really hyped and wanted to sprint after Jason, but unfortunately the table was quite the distance away. Not to mention he would’ve to bodycheck at least three others to get there. So the young adult waited for his turn. His thoughts trailed back to when he first had to answer the damn question. At the time Brendan had no idea what kind of Pokémon he wanted as a starter. There were multiple types and species he considered, but since he didn’t really had a favorite, he just couldn’t make a decision. Eventually his dream of becoming a researcher and visit ancient places had made the decision for him. Just pick the species that could be useful in ancient ruins or hard to reach places where history and mythology waited for him to tell their tale. Doing it that way would be easy! Right? Nope. Even after scratching half the Pokémon on his list, Brendan had a hard time. Maybe a Swinub? Ice and Ground could prove useful in multiple circumstances. But there was this feeling he really wanted a Unovian Pokémon… A flying type? Could be handy to reach high places and scout caves. Caves… Ruins, as far as he knew, usually had hidden chambers and could be dark like a cave. And caves were filled with rock types… When Jack stepped aside Brendan found the Pokéball with his name immediately. He grabbed the red sphere, stepped aside and pushed the button. “Yes!” he cheered when he noticed he had gotten his first choice. The Roggenrola didn’t share the happy feeling. In fact it didn’t do anything. It just stood there. Was it staring? Could it even see? “Uuuhm, I’m Brendan, your new partner. Nice to meet you!” Brendan tried. “I still have to nickname you. How about I call you Titan?” The rock type didn’t respond and just stood there until finally it gave a small nod.

No problem. I just expected things to be finished by now. Ragnar, this also means I'm not going to finish the battle in the battle thread. Toshiro won and I'm using that outcome in the final post for chapter 1. I need Kay's reaction to reveal something about Samantha. -

Dobby, Hukuna, can you two finish your battle? That way I can end eveything in one post and start chapter 2. -
8:54 AM – Entrance to Route 1 “Oh hey! Now that you mention it! You did seem quite familiar but I couldn’t immediately place you,” Brendan smiled when Jason introduced himself. “Yep. I’m Brendan Fallin. Cute Mincinno you have. I’m so jealous! I don’t have a Pokémon yet. I wonder what I’ll get…” his thoughts trailed of again when a new arrival appeared. “So that makes six of us. And since it’s almost time, I don’t think many more will be coming. Do you know by any chance who we’re waiting for?” Brendan asked. In all his excitement he just kept talking, only to have something other to do then just wait in silence. Backpack: Potion (x3) Flashlight XTransceiver
-
8:00 AM – Brendan Fallin A few minutes before his alarm clock would annoy him, Brendan already woke up. He stretched out, put out his alarm and slowly got out of bed. The past couple of days he had tried to get into the same morning routine so he wouldn’t miss the start of his brand new adventure. He went downstairs for breakfast and found his mother’s note. Of course both his parents had already left for work. Luckily he said his goodbyes last night before going to bed. The note was nothing more than a reminder and to wish Brendan good luck. Ten minutes later the boy took a quick shower before getting dressed. He didn’t bother combing his short blond hair. Not important on such a big day and he would probably skip it multiple times during his adventure. His dad would preach about the importance of a decent look. Instead Brendan just stared in the mirror, wondering what kind of Pokémon he would get. He blinked a couple of times with his green eyes, realizing this wasn’t the right time and continued to dress He wore a light grey jeans and a red shirt before going back to his room to grab his Xtransceiver and backpack. He played Juniper’s message while putting on his shoes and went outside. He locked the door and hurried to Route 1. It had actually taken him a little longer than he anticipated to get ready because he kept thinking about what partner he would get. 8:54 AM – Entrance to Route 1 After a short walk, Brendan almost reached the rendez-vous point. He already saw some people talking. He held his hand high as a way of greeting when he approached them. “Hi, sorry to interrupt, I’m looking for one of Professor Juniper’s researchers. I assume this is the place?”

I'm just going to start chapter 2. I don't think I'm going to rewrite everything in those documents and just put general directions I want to take. I'm only going to write everything down when it comes to all those characters.
