I don't know. Collaborative RPs are things made my multiple people, so an independent source of action is most of the time no-go as a whole since things easily get out of hand when there's more often than not a lack of similarity between what each person wants to do with the RP. That said, facilitating a consistent form of independent writing in a collaboration forum isn't exactly very simple, more or less remotely possible, because it means having to inevitably clash and rift with other writers, unless everything is elaborately discussed beforehand. That said, from a perspective that's done what's being pointed out in the OP before, I've always been paranoid about acting on my own because of the presumptuous consequence if it doesn't abide by what the RP in question wants and restricts. RPs aren't completely free writing, and I've been lectured by the mods about bunnying a bit frequently to the point where I've had to poke Murdoc and Hukuna about it before posting anything in the past. Most of the time the dilemma exposes itself in "why isn't anyone acting by him or herself, we need the activity the story isn't stuck yet", but there's another thing in mind where "what can I post to not break the rules/bunny/do I have a reason to at this point" etc. I sorta disagree with Acquiscent that people don't feel it's important to write independently. Moreso, people find the need to add content important, but aren't sure if said content would be acceptable by everyone involved, especially the hosts, since there is little coordination within the idea. Speculatively, things are being stagnant because the RPers aren't clear on what everyone is willing to accept on the RP as a whole when they're individual minds. It's like trying to put a puzzle when the pieces don't even fit; as such, it's hard getting the coordination people want, since there's "be considerate about what people want" and "restrictions" binding our minds. My two cents.

Pokemon Reborn Trading Service-It's that time of the year again!
Noir replied to Dban1's topic in Team Showcase
Alright, here's the trade deal I discussed with Biboo about. HIs Impish Gliscor for my Naive Chimchar. Should things go smoothly and if you're free, this should go alright within the next two days, preferably. -
Goodbye, post #300. A mono-Fire team shouldn't be excessively reliant on Solarbeam, especially when you're only letting two or three Pokemon use it. It's more of a liability in some cases, especially against Pokemon such as Drizzle Politoed, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon. Predicting Solarbeam on their switch utterly spells death for your sun setter, so HP Grass, or in Ninetales' case Energy Ball, is more consistent and reliable. As for the three Pokemon you mentioned, all are viable Choice users, but I'd recommend against a Choice Scarf Infernape and opt for either Choice Band or Life Orb, since while there are no full counters to as to what the monkey can do, mono-Fire teams generally appreciate as much damage output from it as possible. That said, a physically offensive set, particularly CB, can work with a set like this: Infernape @ Choice Band/Life Orb Jolly Nature 252 Attack/4 Def/252 Speed Iron Fist Flare Blitz Close Combat U-Turn/Thunder Punch Mach Punch I'll let the set speak for itself. As for the other two, the set you want to run is largely dependent on fixed team composition; both are preferably Choice Scarfed, but can also run Choice Specs/Band. Rotom-H can also run a more defensively-orientated set. I'll give you all the options, but considering you have sun, I'll only give Scarf Darmanitan. Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf Jolly Nature 252 Attack/4 Def/252 Speed (make sure the HP is even to reduce SR damage) Sheer Force Flare Blitz U-Turn Rock Slide Superpower Rotom-H @ Choice Specs/Choice Scarf Timid Nature 252 Special Attack/4 Def/252 Speed (again odd HP) Levitate Overheat Volt Switch Trick Hidden Power Ice/Grass/Will-O-Wisp OR Rotom-H @ Leftovers or Assault Vest (the former is better though) Timid/Bold Nature 248 HP/8 Special Attack/252 Speed with Timid or 248 HP/252 Def/8 Speed with Bold Levitate Overheat Volt Switch If Lefties: Will-O-Wisp/Thunder Wave Pain Split/Rest If AV: Hidden Power Ice/Hidden Power Grass Thunderbolt

Considering you're using stuff that aren't available in Reborn in-game yet, I'll assume this is for all-in competitive purposes. That said, I have a lot to ramble about here, but my apologies if you find it a bit inappropriate. Frankly speaking, this team is...quite undesirable. While I'm unsure as to the limitations of what specific Fire Pokemon such as Talonflame are banned in Monotypes sometimes, you're still missing out on quite the number of important Pokemon that you shouldn't neglect on a Fire run, and opt for inferior options. While it's nice of you to be wary of keeping hazards away from the field while having hazards of your own, Torkoal is highly outclassed by two Pokemon that can do the respective roles; Heatran, which provides nifty resistances, and, albeit a debatable case, Moltres, which despite having an x4 weakness to Stealth Rock, has much better stats to work with, reliable recovery, and good Speed and offensive presence, as well as an extra immunity to Ground, in which most, if not all, Fire type teams appreciate. Even Infernape can function as a potent hazard lead, but you'd appreciate it's offensive capability more than its utility. I'll get to the specifics of this below. Moltres can remove entry hazards via Defog and Roost off stray damage, although you'd want to avoid the opponent setting up SR altogether, which is manageable apart from leads such as Custap Berry Skarmory/Forretress, should you lack the aid of Taunt. This can be put on Heatran, that can Taunt all common SR tanks that are slower than it even without significant investment in Speed, while it can also set up Stealth Rock itself. Defensively orientated spreads are desirable, for both, although offensive sets are viable for the two as well. Ironic as this may sound, if you're still pressed for a physical wall Fire type, you get two options in bulky Mega Charizard X and Defensive Arcanine, that have good bulk, the latter having Intimidate, as well as reliable recovery and Will-O-Wisp. Although they won't hit as hard as you want them to be with the given spreads, their attack stat allows little to compromise for physical damage output. One of the important things you're missing out on is Rotom-H. I'd go as far as to call it a staple on any serious mono-Fire, given it provides both a Ground immunity and a way to deal with Water types courtesy of Electric STAB. Even better, it can grab momentum with Volt Switch since Fire-type teams tend to be really hyper offensive and can't take hits all the time, but instead rely on sheer offensive pressure. Coming to more important offensive Fire types, let's get back to Infernape. Infernape's Fire/Fighting typing is really important in dealing with Rock-monos as well as other disadvantageous resists; most importantly, it helps to deal with mono-Ground teams where Excadrill can go on a rampage, and priority Mach Punch means Excadrill can't sweep so long as the monkey's around. Infernape's offensive typing and utility also helps in defeating most common Stealth Rock leads, and can also buy momentum in U-Turn. Using Ninetales along with Mega Charizard Y for consistent sun sustenance is actually more redundant that you'd think, meaning Ninetales may potentially be dead weight most of the time bar heavy weather wars, particularly against teams that have Tyranitar, that can easily strip apart both your Sun users. That said, while sun is a great thing for mono-Fire teams, it doesn't have to be there all the time, if at all. Ditch one or the other, depending on the team you wish to make; if you're lacking a physical attacker, Darmanitan and Emboar, preferably Choice Scarfed ones, as well as Entei, make for good options. Alternatively, you can keep Ninetales and get a Mega Charizard X, running a bulky or pure offensive set. I'm not sure if it's banned, but it's not included in the banlist.

Yukine and Debronee The library? He thought. A place where an abundance of books are kept, a haven of information beneath the welcoming of an open door for the most inquisitive. Does she think we can find enough information regarding our future adversaries? At the very least, she's taking this whole thing seriously, he finalized. "It shall be," He replied. "Where shall our search begin?" -

Yukine and Debronee A name? Normally, unless one was extremely knowledgeable when it came to names or was lucky when guessing them, one wouldn't know, especially through one gruesome, non-introductory encounter. Yet, somehow, the stubborn bell of instinct ran inside his mind again. "Ashnard," He enunciated the name as soon as it hit his mind. Thinking about it again, the name was befitting of that beast. A name he would remember until his blade sliced off that monstrosity of a head, or ripped that vicious, beating heart out. "I don't know how I know this, but it just....feels correct, perhaps." ((I've read your reasons before posting, actually. While justified, I felt it was kinda iffy to know immediately, but I guess I might as well. )) -

Yukine and Debronee The enemy's class, he thought, venturing throughout memories of the cruel, hasty night before, where he had first contracted with Yukine, and pursued by that monstrosity. The brute canine, with brawn but no brain. Debronee decided he would clarify everything again since his mistress had asked said question. The answer was within his mind, only waiting for his lips to divulge the information, what Yukine wanted to know. It seemed odd -- this clarity, this knowing of his regarding what attacked them last night, as if it were given to him by instinct. "We have seven classes," He began. "Apart from me, Assassin, there are six others: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, and Berserker. It'd be the best hunch to assume that we were attacked by the lattermost last night. Most of its qualities fit well, especially considering it didn't have a weapon- no, rather, its body was the weapon itself. They tend to be less....human, than others as well." And then he remembered the scene of the suspicious man hurrying to their location as they teleported away. Yes, it was likely..... "He was there," He quoted. "The Berserker's Master. I don't think he was involved in the fight, but I can't be sure. All I know is that he came after we vanished." His expression grew slightly cold upon mentioning that, knowing that if fate converged their paths again, he wouldn't hesitate to immediately slice him in two. -

Yukine and Debronee Debronee knew he had to face this one way or another; a slight disobedience as of last night. His mind wondered how Yukine would react. "If I may, Master...." Debronee began, as he showed Yukine the sack and unveiled a relatively large sum of money inside of it. The rectangular currency of paper was neatly arranged in wrapped stacks, like blocks, and there was a generous amount of it, more than enough to supply them for a couple of days. "Forgive me," He continued. "My overall instinct got the better of me and I ultimately decided to scavenge the area last night, despite your orders of not to leave you." There was a tone of remorse as he confessed, as he pointed towards the back where he examined the night before, just a stone's throw away into the south. No one was within their range to hear him, so he felt slightly more comfortable telling her about it, knowing that it would be unwise to attract unwanted attention as a thief. He decided to be as specific as possible, "I took merely fifteen minutes, however, and surveying the surrounding areas, I found this the most useful. I'd assumed it to be the currency of this place after a few notions. One of the rooms in that place was full of it, so I decided to take as much as we could carry. Hopefully, I'm not mistaken -- and don't worry, I made sure that everything was fine as if untouched." Debronee got up from his position, watching the busy, welcoming streets that would teach and guide him to the ways of this world. It was a passive priority he alone promised to undertake, to adapt to his Master's day-to-day life as soon as he could. "That settles the latter issue," He said, "Although not permanently. If anyone's to work, however, it would be me. I would prefer if my Master would rely on her Servant more." He extended a welcoming hand that promised to guide her throughout the day. "Shall we?" -

Yukine and Debronee The midnight now transitioned to day as the sky opened its black veil to reveal a colourful display of orange, blue and purple. Debronee was one to wait for the change; he had sat in mediation after only twenty minutes of sleep, watching the night shift into the coming morning. As the day welcomed the dawn, so did everyone; the originally empty, serene nightfall was now replaced by the hustle and bustle of the active city, echoing with the sound of fervor and activity. People of many unfamiliar faces were heading here and there, shops and stalls with illustrative signboards out and open, the empty roads now filled with traffic. Such a lively and occupied atmosphere, surprisingly, left the Servant in peace; the equanimity and tranquility amidst their surroundings, after all they had been through last night, seemed too good to be real, and the day would promise them a peaceful journey so long as the sun's rays still shone upon all. To that, Debronee knew that he had to make the most of it. He turned to the hidden, conspicuous patch of grass behind the bush, and watched Yukine, his Master, still sound asleep on the comfortable bed of grass, her dreams still accompanying her. Beside her was a relatively bulky, old and traditional storage bag that belonged to the servant. He watched the beautiful girl and the item beside her indifferently, watching a slit of sunlight pierce through the canopy above and fall upon her pristine face. "Well then, Master," He whispered, as he lightly nudged his mistress's temple, brushing off a few strands of her silky raven hair. The day wasn't going to wait for them. "Open your eyes." -
Topping all this up, they make a new gen every 3-4 years. There's some Japanese chart that illustrates it perfectly somewhere. To type it down, this is all true in that the interval between the introduction of a new gen took 3 years, that is with the exception of Gen 4, that took an extra year. 1996 was Gen 1. 1999 was Gen 2. 2003 was Gen 3. 2007 was Gen 4. 2010 was Gen 5. 2013 was Gen 6. Unless this is gonna be another Gen 4 shift and take an extra year, who knows? Gen 7 incoming?

Hukuna, I'd prefer if the other guy led a post first, since Debronee isn't one to start plans unless he's on his own. Because bad leading/communication and stuff.

Mega Banette, just because Banette's one of my favorites barring one other than doesn't have a Mega. It was sad that it was bad competitively but now it's my core RU Pokemon that does so much things it's insane. It's usable even in OU to shut down tons of core stuff, although Magic Bounce is still a pain in the rear to deal with (looking at you Mega Sable). It's sad that very little know how to use him effectively though.

Didn't say I wanted it to retain the rank, I was simply renouncing and correcting a wrong fact. I don't see why you have to make an assumption like that just because of it, although I apologize for anything/whatever I did in the past to make you think that way. To stick with the topic, though. I guess it can merit B-C, but not D; Seismitoad is not and never an inferior Swampert unless the Mega shows up, in which by then even the Swift Swim set is outclassed even if they attack from different spectrums. Scald argument applies to Swampert as well, as the difference is bulk isn't like leagues apart anyway, and Seismitoad gets a defensive trait over Pert in Water Absorb. Turning a neutrality to an immunity that gives HP helps a lot, although probably not significant at the moment until we get like Amaria. Seismitoad also means you get to pick Greninja since the free Swampert got axed, meaning it's the best Water/Ground unless you decided to pick Swampert over Greninja, so the availability factor is another thing. Life is getting busy as it is and I think I've done more than my needed share here anyway, so don't worry about me messing with all this any time soon, if ever. It was enjoyable, though, so thanks.

This is a Mega Altaria, so the ability of choice doesn't really matter; that aside, Cloud Nine means it won't take Sand damage or something when Altaria wants to come in, so that's one pro over Natural Cure. That aside, Expert Belt doesn't really help Serperior to fulfill the desired wallbreaking ability at all, and even if Life Orb compounds on longevity with Sand, Giga Drain makes up for it somewhat. People will tend to switch into resists when it comes to Serperior, and the 20% damage boost only works on super effective damage, meaning that you won't get a consistent boost and more often than not act as if you have no item at all. Miracle Seed/Meadow Plate can bolster Leaf Storm more consistently if you want to switch moves while simultaneously don't like Life Orb recoil. That aside, don't you think your team is a bit more vulnerable than it needs to against Mega Venusaur? It absorbs Cofagrigus' Toxic Spikes and walls pretty much everything on your team apart from a boosted Excadrill.
-
Same Steel weakness argument applies to Mega Scizor, especially considering the more offensive approach on Gliscor. It's free to do whatever it wants unless you Scald Burn it. You should probably put HP Fire on something.
-
....Seismitoad gets Earth Power as an egg move, even without reverting to e14. Just want to point that out, not inclined to start more clashes here on forth after this. Don't see why this still merits the case though, considering Swift Swim and Water Absorb also mean it does, or can do entirely different things over Swampert.

Debronee and Yukine Yukine seemed rather comfortable in the mattress of grass; to that, Debronee felt a slight relief in that she preferred such a surrounding. She then gave him what was perhaps the last order of the night, as her expression and eyes seemed pleading; for him to stay by her side and never leave her be. "Not a further inch away, Master. May pleasant dreams blanket your sleep." He sat beside her as she laid down, his scarlet eyes gazing at her as if they promised they would watch her until her eyes were shut asleep. He managed to hide a frown in that his words would be....sort of a lie, in that the man would truly be with her for the entire night, not leaving her alone for even a second. But to their survival overall, it was very much not strategic. The soundless night and the empty town facilitated a wonderful environment for the servant to plunder, and he could only imagine the issues he himself would face in finding supplies in open daylight, unless Yukine had something up her sleeve. A mild, begrudging feeling entered him at the situation he was in, in how he had to take such a risk to leave his mistress alone in search of supplies. He decided he wouldn't overextend, and only survey places that were very near to him; unfamiliar buildings with signs such as "Kirigaya Bank" and other odd names surrounded the vicinity, as he decided it wouldn't hurt to scour the place, even if it meant just a bit. And even if she would discover it the next morning, he would willingly bear with the shame of disobedience, the conscience of the risk he had put her. However, it would be much worse to be left as fish out of water without the incentive to explore, in his heart hoping that nothing would happen to her, possible as it could be, within the short time he set up for himself. Fifteen minutes. No longer than that, he promised. Of course, all that was to be done, until his Master Yukine was deep in her sleep, within her jubilee of sweet dreams he hoped would accompany her. For that, he had the patience that could await an eternity. -

Debronee had no real reason to object. He needed only twenty minutes of sleep at most; he was very much used to being awake long term with very short lengths of sleep, and he could mediate to pass the time if Yukine wanted him close. Such a habit meant that it didn't really affect his capability or health whatsoever, but Debronee found himself inclined to think otherwise. "As you wish, Master. Alternatively...." He went to his thoughts as he continued hesitantly, realizing the risk of his action. "I could carry you across this area for a more comfortable setting, or perhaps I shall go off looking for essential supplies myself, although I'd prefer it if I stood by you, Master. Manageable as is this, surely you would prefer a more....comfortable resting spot? I must confess that it does make me feel rather......inappropriate, to leave you like this, especially after what you've been through, Master. You need worry not of everything; I'll be doing the walking, and I will see fit that you find a place that you can write home about, if you'll allow me, Master." -

Debronee and Yukine "Master -- Master!" The girl had fainted. Understandably, due to have used to so much magic. Examining her, Debronee was reconfirmed of his hunch in that Yukine had simply fainted; there a mild sign of a pulse, and barely detectable breathing. Nothing too major; simply tiredness. Recalling her master's final order, it seemed manageable, for the streets were empty and he was free to scavenge the area -- hopefully undetected, unfamiliar to him as it was. But Debronee had a better idea; perhaps Yukine had earned her rest after all she had done, Debronee knew a way to regain her consciousness and give her a slight supply of energy, although it wouldn't replenish all that magic she had spent on fending that creature. Thinking of it, he was reminded of a man -- a man who immediately ran into the room as he miraculously escaped -- and pondered on him. Vaguely recognizing his appearance, he didn't seem like a civilian that had fallen asleep; a late-night worker? Just another person who had noticed the commotion and wanted to discover what was going on? Or worse yet- Debronee shoved the thought off. The fact that the Master of that creature was there seemed double-edged; perhaps if he had departed a slight bit later, he would've run his sword through him in one opportunity. It would have taken only a second, although that one second alone would also be enough for the beast to attack them. He was fortunate enough to have escaped safely with his mistress. If he really was controlling the beast, he assumed that the man was either some cruel homicide, or perhaps a helpless Master having that monstrosity under his tutelage. Either way, both figures one definitely ones to watch out for, as he wondered how soon -- or late -- it would be before they crossed paths again. Or maybe he wouldn't, if the beast was to be slain off by someone else, he hoped. The white-haired man reached for his waist pocket and withdrew a bottle -- an elixir. Slight magical quality seemed to dwell within the herbal liquid, as a smell, foul-odored to ones unused to the scent escaped as he opened the bottle. Positioning Yukine gently, he then opened her mouth slightly, fingers caressing beneath her chin to open her lips, as he attempted slowly to pour the liquid into her mouth. Yukine would be fortunate drinking this in her unconscious state, Debronee's mind knowing that it tasted as horrid as it smelled, effective as it would be. -

Debronee and Yukine "A command I solemnly heed." Debronee renounced firmly. The beast was climbing up the wall and he had no time to waste. What was strange though, was that he felt a power surge through him, a strength that allowed him to commit to Yukine's order without fail, under this seemingly hopeless situation. In what was only a second of time, his scarlet eyes surveyed the green sparks of electricity that tangled his master, quivering and in slight pain within the cage, a desperate arm reaching to him, as he devised a swift plan for him to set her free and immediately escape afterward. He flashed within the cage, cradling his master within his strong arms; the electricity stung the Servant slightly, but his speed meant that it was all temporary, and his clothes insulated the sparks. With a forceful pull of his entire body, Yukine was now free of the electrifying cage just in time, and with blinding speed, Debronee immediately departed the room, faster than lightning, heading for the back of the building. He leaped- And then they landed. Very unexpectedly, they were now somewhere unrecognizable; another residential area, however, far different from the one they were at just a short moment ago. ((The district north from the airport, nearby Caster and Rider)). They now stood on a road where a modern, industrial setting surrounded every corner; it was still quiet, for the late night had veiled all in sleep, only a few shops open and a few buildings with their yellow lights still illuminating the inside, the traffic lights blinking a faint yellow to govern the seemingly empty traffic. Above all, Debronee could no longer detect the fearful, bloodthirsty aura that pursued him. Was this the teleportation Yukine had beseeched, the power of the Command Seal? He felt impressed at his Master's command that provided him with such a power, unexpected as it was, and he didn't seem inclined to question her of the details now that they were safe. "The beast is no longer in sight," He whispered. "And should be far away. Let's continue our hustle while we can. To where shall I take you, Master?"
