Pokemon Reborn Redux [Mod][E18.71 Version Released]
Commander replied to Commander's topic in The Mod Market
So I uhhh...tried fixing some of the bugs and right now I'm sitting waiting for an hour to see if this other compression issue stops some other random issues that popped up. Anyways here's the debug version of the game (need to run it once for the fixes): link The data files if you just want to patch (just replace the data folder with this one): link And the full game with patches version: link Changelog: I don't remember everything but this one mostly just fixes some various bugs that I could find and fix. If you have the game, just freely download the data file and that's all you need to do. -
Pokemon Reborn Redux [Mod][E18.71 Version Released]
Commander replied to Commander's topic in The Mod Market
@RedAlert I'm well aware people are experiencing the error which is simply caused by not setting the option variables in the menu correctly though that was for selecting the choice. I would look more into it but I'm scratching my head what could be the issue as I've tested no seriously I've tried everything to crash it but I've gotten zilch results. I have one of two theories why this occurs: 1) It's a compression issue which would be fixed by using the uncompressed scripts (not likely) Scripts.rxdata 2) You're using mods which is conflicting with the scripts inserting over overwriting parts of the Redux scripts (The way to check this would be to theoretically remove all the mods then use the clean script file above) It could be not having the fonts installed as well but I'm not sure that'd cause a crash. One of the reasons I considered disabling mods was simply due to situations like these where I can't pinpoint glitches because of it without asking if they were used or not. While I say you can use mods with Redux, I never recommend it because plug 'n play stuff can harm your game or ending breaking stuff that is functional. -
Chapter 53: Death to all but that Lapras How to sum up a chapter in a title. (Looks like somewhere got an update) (Someone got a little test change happy) (I still don't like SEC) (And this is kind of the same just with a different map) (And here's Lita slayer of Flareons everywhere) (Well that was uneventful. The place looks better though) (Huh? There's still more) (That glass looks expensive...and fragile) (Clara is new. I like Clara) (We're never done with robots. There's a mech anime every year) (Shouldn't you be aware of our presence from SEC...then again who would want to listen to him) (What the...) (Oh come on! I wanted a free ride) So yeah, that happened. (Okay, I get the idea but I gotta talk about it for a second) Does anything look jarring in this scene? You gotta be honest to yourself as even when you really, really like a game sometimes there can be a part that just looks ugly. You see the doorway behind Madelis, you probably are about to get what I'm talking about. I get the idea that the factory is built into the wall but that does create some jarring depth perception with the pillars. The pillars indicate that the doorway should be curved in and a bit covered yet the wall is perfectly visible. In layman's terms, the top wall about the second set of doors creates a perception error. It's easy to miss if you aren't paying attention to it but when you do it can really bother you. I think it's easily fixed by putting a border on top there but I haven't tinkered with it. It's kind of hard to describe how 2-d games work because it's all about the illusion of depth. (Someone got a personality makeover) It's a good change as I said she reminded me too much of Nastashia aka probably the most forgettable character in the game besides Neved. (You have my permission to turn her into a cyborg) (Well this is new) (Yes, yes I did follow you. How's WLL progress going?) (This can't be good) (I'm pretty sure your version of drastic is like half the subplots of this game) (I mean duh it's a trap. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that) (..........Hooray for collection quests) (Yet she lays them out all around to find) (She's...not that threatening let's be honest. More bark than bite. Well the only one to really show a bite is Madame X as the rest play dirty when they ultimately lose) (Guess we're teaming up with Ken...Keta again) (Only a crazy person would run through this madness again) (Someone has too much time on there hands) And after a long explanation of locations: (Keta must be some type of party animal) (I don't even want to think about what went down at your last party, Keta) So I like when tiny details mean something down the line to explain a character. I think this party thing was a one off gag, but it'd be cool to see it actually play relevance such as maybe Keta made a wreck of this place before to try and stop Madelis still playing by the bounds of the rules to not break his contract. We do see some of that such as the elder at the beginning speaking about how the player arrived. (I like trains) (Well this is new) I think the left one is the female galactic grunt and the right sprite is Cheren. Guess it's nice to get new sprites as it keeps things interesting to look at. I'm not gonna comment much on this: (Explaining shadow Pokemon, nice) (Nothing new here. Pretend I'm not even here) (That barrier is new. Time to put this last key in) (I thought you told us not to. Stop contradicting yourself) (So this is a good stopping point) I really like how they are interacting like they know each other quite well. They do and that's shown in WLL. When I gave criticisms before or rewrites I'm not saying "Hey, this is how to write it" but simply showing one of many approaches towards it as I don't put a lot of thought nor do I know the full story. It sound more like someone took the things I said and redid it to give a better interpretation and presentation. That's the way to go as all I'm doing is bringing my thoughts to the table. I want to make it clear that I do not have the power to change the game nor change your opinion on your enjoyment of the game. At worst, I can rise up subconscious thoughts in your head and perhaps swing them a certain way if you have not put a lot of thought into them. That's just something I want to implant when I explain everything at the end. (I guess...you gotta get over it. [song cue]) Only Zero no Kiseki players will understand (Oh hell this is so, so much better than the original) (No, Aelita it's not) (I don't think you have much of a choice in that situation) (Madelis is many things, but a liar isn't one of them. Also that chair is awesome) (Keta admitting to his sins) (One who is lost from the light can always find their way back. Perhaps this was fate) (Don't mind me. I'll just be sitting here figuring out how to jump a barrier. Where's Lloyd when you need him?) (Hmmm....don't tell me we're all gonna die) (Keta is my brother and the protag of the other run. He des...he's not my actual brother but he's the only one in this room I can stand longer than 20 minutes) (So I thought this was weird, but it makes sense as I know more about the game) (Aelita, it has everything to do with it) (This is an important little detail. There's a reason why she's confused) (Well we were all screwed to begin with given Madame X is probably creating a new world or something) (...Please don't involve me in fam...she's gonna kill me for the Melia thing, isn't she?) (You realize I was making a joke when I thought her as being fabulous...don't change it though) I'm gonna be honest. Madelis is by far my favorite of the Xen villains and nobody even comes to a close second. All of her actions make sense as she's arrogant and really out for herself until a bigger dog barks at her then she becomes second fiddle if not just plain pathetic. It makes her such a good first villain threat since she doesn't feel like the big bad but she still feels like a dangerous baddie. Some people may not like her new tropey flair personality but I think we can agree she feels much more than a plot dump now. (That's also new. Guess we won't be getting a long clipscene before the impossible Mewtwo battle.) (...And we've entered the belly of the beast it seems) (She planted a bomb, didn't she? Nah. She probably ran out on SEC...she really is a master troll) (That is kind of how deals work. You break your end, you die) (She has a point. Though it's not like she wouldn't have done the things she did if you died anyways being honest) (Battle time?) (Okay, I think this is Madame X this time. Why does she want a Shadow of that?) (She's doing her happy dance. That's never a good sign) (Where is the discount store where Xen is finding all these legends as I want one) (Okay those two images together look like they are part of a mural. I probably could crop it to make it look better but that takes more effort) (My vote is for Aelita. That'd give us enough time to gtfo of there) (Guess we're dealing with this again. Member when Shadow Pokemon were relevant) (Even with a Snag machine it would've been hell) (And...we lost) So I actually lost but I did manage to screencap the scene if you lose which you'll see here: (We...didn't even reach Mewtwo) (Well that was embarrassing. I guess Swalot was a terrible option for this fight) (...Maybe I spoke a bit too soon) (Vivian, is that you?) (I'd do what she says but...we gotta go back in time for a minute) I gotta say holy shit that's different than before. I really like how threatening of a force Madelis is as you really need to plan to take her down. But I kind of get the theme being based around the character/type as Madelis is charming (Salazzle and Florges) and Dark type. It's a bit weird but their teams are kind of memorable due to it. It just feels a bit weird with the selection. It's not a bad weird, but weird and a bit unnatural in a way. When you have to explain or really think about how a team theme idea works it's kind of at the point where you can't really say if it's a good team or a bad one in terms of theme. I mean they function well but it's one of those that it's gonna be a hit or miss with people given devs can't be over everyone's shoulder to explain something. I want to also remind you that telling a players that it's there fault for not understanding is not a good response or simply that it's only them never ends on a good note. So something that is true whether you hate it or not is that you will get attacked for not having the popular opinion and having a certainly type of personality certainly doesn't help the case. It's so easy to get onto my case as sometimes I can be sarcastic or walk the line and even easier to go "Because a person is like that they can't know what they're saying." If you've done that, take that piece of your mind and be ready to fight it constantly. I've had plenty of times where I fought it and end up at least trying to do the right thing. Speaking of...it took me an episode of RWBY to finally understand a certain tic I had that set off a chain of events. This is a bit of a spoiler so be warned ...Which now reminds me of the whole fact the game is in some altered reality shit or something. I don't even want to know how the hell that happened and that certainly isn't something I'm looking forward to. And before you guys say anything to defend or say I'm wrong, it is and it isn't a writing sin. It's more like a sign that you are a rather incompetent writer. Sign. That does not mean fact. Time Travel, Alternate Worlds, and Bringing back the dead are the big three. When one of the three are introduced to a works (different from being established) it almost never ends well. If you guys want me to go into writing sins or like my own interpretation and my top 10, I certainly could go into it but it could bore you guys to death for all I know and I don't wanna be giving lectures if nobody is listening. And don't worry, I've broken all three. (Guess the perfect mon isn't so perfect) (Keta had 3 more Pokemon and I have uhhh 2? I probably am on my last stand) (Okay, I think the dialogue is different here) (This man be taking on a second Mewtwo. He deserves a medal) (Keta ain't gonna last long against that thing) (Good-bye favorite character of mine. Why do the good ones go so soon?) (If only he went out a more badass way) (Well we've looked everywhere else so it's probably there) And here's the team I used (Yeah, yeah I used three starters. So fun fact is that only one of these guys is on the current rotation) (I have a new mission. To sit my ass on every seat in the region. No seat shall escape thy ass) (Those statues are starting to creep me out. It's like they're staring into my soul) (This is kind of the same) (Sigh...Am I the one who is going to have to deal with this?) (Yeah, Aelita. Violence isn't always the answer) (I...like this robot. Why can't SEC be more like this thing. Too bad we'll never see you again after this segment) (Guess we gotta put it down then) (And here she...where's the green aura on the mewtwo?) (I'll buy her off of you. She's a nice robot...and more helpful than most of my companions) (So if you stroke her ego she'll let you free...I'm not sure if I trust that or not) (Now you're just asking to die) (And it's another boss battle time) (So it's a baby and not the actual...no wonder it's so weak) (......I don't remember....oh god) (I'm starting to feel bad about this) (You're...welcome for murdering you) (that's not a good sign...oh hello Gothitelle) (Madelis in a nutshell) (This scene is more or less the same but it has some slight differences I think) Sigh...I guess I'll do it for the old scene (What curzes haz ze devil brought upon our glorious nation?) (Zwei are lozing ze lab, ze mizzion, and even ze edge ever since ze raid on ze lake. Zi cannot live without ze edge) (But zwei cannot forget ze zupid zuicidal girl going zucidal. What a world zwei live in) (How can zwei win ze war when ze prize ez spider doo doo) (Zwei even lost me band partner, Zetta. What can zi do without ze blonde dishing out zose zweet beatz) (Ze also make zose rift monstrozities but zho cares about zat) (Zewut did zu say to ze great Geara? Do zu think zu zar above ze Geara because ze Geara about to show zu ze whooping of ze ass right now) (Zough zu seem to have ze calms too much right now. Zi am not ze crazy one here for thinking zis, no?) (Do zu see zis ass? Zis ass ez better zan any ass zu zall ever get.) I kind of only did snippets so you get the abridged version. I wasn't thinking about French boy when screenshotting these these. (Zat ez funnier zan Neved going black) (Zho zum little baybays zar ze problem. Zu lost little baybays. Zu zar more pathetic zan ze dirt on ze Geara's feet) (Zat name. Oh zow zhi hate zat name) (Zere ez not za dumpster in ze world zat would accept zuch trashy trash) (Only za baby would zay za baby haz power) (Zi zall handle ze baby with ease. Ze moment I zee zem, Zi zall zow zem zhi power) (Holy zit! Zi zon zof a zitch zoo turned zhi into ze zupid French man with ze accent of terrible ez here. Zoot zem before zit ez zoo late) Thank god that's over. At least it's not Citrine lines. Those make me lose IQ points. (Now we know how long it's been since Melia died) Jan, can we seriously get a timeline of when what events take place? I just kind of want to know the duration of the events or approximate duration to get an idea how long the protag has been on an adventure since they left the boat during certain point in the story. Doesn't have to be specific, but just a general idea. (Suddenly Shiny Celebi. Go away. I want the old one back) (Seriously, what is up with these Shinies replacing everything. It's a conspiracy. They're taking over the world with Melia as their queen) The directions are new (I like the pic of the elder. Nice touch whoever made that) Not much else was notable so now it's... (How bad could this be?) (Son of a Giratina it's bad.) (Well that's a good thing) (Well that's a bad omen) Oh boy there's a lot to talk about in this one. Where do I begin? Let's start with the battle. The battle was...way too hard. I've had trouble on other fights but that was more of my mon selection than more or less it being too hard. Geara down the line I could've brought a sucker punch mon which would resolve the issue I had. I'm going to just grind down everything wrong with the fight. The first sin is 31 IVs on all mons. Toning them down to 25 may not seem much of a difference but it can help reduce OHKOs on mons. Now I'm going to break down each mon individually: Ninetales: A very strong mon with a bit on the low side special attack, but solid speed and special defense. A solid tank with very little that'll outspeed it and is a very hard hitter at this point in the game Donphan: A rather fast mon at this point in the game with solid attack and defense. Very little will be able to one shot without taking significant damage. Thankfully it has to be desired special defense to take it down Gabite: Another strong and hard hitting ground type, but does have a bit more weakness to ice types...except there really isn't one making it really tanky and will dish out a lot of damage. Also outspeeds most options Roserade: A monster with really high attack power, speed, and special defense on top of technician with the only saving grace is that it often uses Venoshock, the move that hits about half as hard as its other options (Magical leaf does 70-90% of a +6 sp def Solrock...let that sink in for a minute) Lapras: A massive tank with solid stats all around for this point in the game including speed which the seed boosts its damage to ludicrous levels on top of having solid coverage against most options that can really damage it. The thing has Surf. Gallade: Probably the least threatening thing on his team due to being a little on the slow side but still faster than many options. Has a massive attack so will probably one shot a lot of options. The biggest kick to the dick is that we already earned the gym badge and now how to refight the guy for the same reward. I know it's a reference to WLL and probably is supposed to be mons that died with that story which is why he doesn't have Lucario. So fun little fact Az tried to dish on me the fact I complained about Roserade when I actually used a Roserade on Florinia. I told him that it doesn't have Technician on top of it originally didn't have any damaging moves which proved to be an issue with the AI so I adjusted it a little bit. It's more of a scare tactic than it being a threat. I do think it's a bit ironic that Roserade, a top tier grass threat, is not viewed as a threat on Keta's team despite having solid coverage and insane damage. How did that not raise flags? I don't think a single person is going to be happy hearing me say this or read it because I'm touching what their sacred ground is, but this fight just needs to be nerfed or changed in some ways. It's not so much a fight of strategy but more of you either have a team that can handle insanely strong mons at this point in the game or you don't. I didn't so I had to use Solrock to take out the main threats. Every single one of Keta's options are stronger than every single one of your options so it's really hard not to have 2 mons damaged from one of his. Do the math and you'll figure it out. Yes, I have restrictions on myself, but it just circles back to the issue. Keta's mons have really strong stats, solid moves, and all have various benefits from the field. It's not a difficulty thing, but the fact most of the following can't match or even come close to that difficulty due to simply players have better options and more of a selection. If I didn't use Solrock, I think most of my fights would've been 1/3rd of the length of outtakes this one would've had. 1/3rd. So this fight really needs to be nerfed for consistent difficulty over whether or not it is beatable imo. Remember the diagram I showed before? There's nothing gained from a fight being too hard, but there's nothing lost from a fight being too easy. That's a very important fact to remember when nerfing/buffing fights. *** Anyways, with that rant aside I do want to talk about the changes next. I don't know why but Rejuvenation feels more vibrant. It probably won't come to anyone's surprise, but I don't particularly care for Rejuv's story. It's pretty cliche and predictable which I haven't really seen much to say it's a very noteworthy story to write down in my books. Sorry, but you sometimes have to be brutally honest. With that said, I care about what Rejuv does with its story. I've talked about its little charm aspect and I really think Jan must've heard me or someone as bits of that are seen everywhere and it's just more fun to read and watch the story play out just to see how characters react or what animation Jan throws next. That vibrant feel is just really engaging and it really saves the story. I want to see what Jan is going to throw at us next as this eye candy makes reading the story worth it. I've said it many times is that Rejuv is at its best when it's not trying to be Reborn and I think it's on the right direction. I really does have that vibrant experience I don't think you can pick up any fan-game and really get. If I had to distinguish the differences between Reborn and Rejuvenation in a sentence I could actually do it now: "Reborn is about the adventure, but Rejuvenation is about the journey." Edit: Oh right, I forgot all about the thing I wanted to do. Remember when I said my words alone are meaningless, well I found an interesting video you should watch. Now I'm not particularly a fan of the subject, but this Youtuber did bring up a lot of good points about Mary Sues in the first half of the video. His ending note is pretty solid to stating that creators have an obligation to try and avoid Mary Sues by making changes to the content and learning and improving. It's because people speak out in mass that changes happen such as characters being dropped or changed. I will be discussing Melia obviously when we get there.

So I finally caught up on RWBY and spoilers will be found below:
The whole Adam fight was kind of a letdown. The mech battle absolutely destroys it in comparison which is sad given the whole 4 seasons hype this fight was built up to. Would've honestly rather have had him still around over Cinder. Also would have been way more satisfying to see Yang beat the living shit out of him since he deserved it, but alas we didn't.
-
My take is that he didn't suddenly start losing in order to preserve his threat as a villain, and to emphasize that BY did something incredibly difficult in defeating him, which neither of them could do alone.
Adam's power isn't derived from from any cybernetics or maiden powers or Grimm arms. He's just a really skilled huntsman with more issues than a lifetime magazine subscription. Blake and Yang managed to leverage their bond and new skills to their fullest extent and just barely eeked out a win.
That mech fight was excellent though, I agree. My favorite parts were Ruby taking charge and finally being a leader after spending much of v4 and 5 solidly in the backseat.
-
So I actually saw a cool theory that Adam could be a bastard son of the Schnee Dust Company explaining his whole scar situation but...that's a different story altogether. Would definitely be cool to see that explored but it doesn't seem like it would.
Adam was always a powerful character and is probably the strongest White Fang Member by a good margin. He honestly should have had an entire episode dedicated to him if he was going to be sent off like that and with how little he was involved in the volume. He was a man with nothing to lose at this point and that's when someone is the most dangerous. It also kind of felt dirty that his final stand was a method to turn Yang and Blake into a thing when Blake and Sunny have had a 3 season buildup. I don't know, but it just didn't feel right which is kind of why I said I would have wanted Yang to beat the living hell out of him instead of killing him off. Definitely was potential to turn him around.
It's just weird as I wanted Cinder to die as it'd flip the plot on its head seeing Salem pissed about losing an important pawn, but of course the typical she lives happened which was disappointing. Now that I want Adam to somehow survive (he ain't gonna be in fighting shape after that though) he probably won't which makes me a bit disappointed.

...I totally jinxed myself for this Chapter 52 Bah Bum Bu-da Bah Da Bum Buh TaKeta! So here's how we're going to divide the chapters up Chapter 52: Up through Keta Chapter 53: Up through Spirit Keta Chapter 54: Up through Narcissa Chapter 55: Up through Valarie Chapter 56 & 57: Up through Crawli Chapter 58 & 59: Up until where we left off before (aka post Angie) Those last 4 chapters kind of are at the point where there's too much for one chapter but almost too little to be separate so we'll see. Also most of the videos are on youtube except for like 6 that I still need to either cut the final take or add music. My computer hates RMXP games and I don't know why. I even fixed the Youtube issue I had but alas I just don't know what is causing it. But let's continue with our Rejuv adventure: (How to get a C&D notice hard and fast) So some of you younger folks might not know this but there have been plenty of online mmos of Pokemon before one of which I kind of really liked, but they all got taken down one by one. Was fun for what it was though but Nintendo hates those things way more than fan-games even. So yeah, never make one of those. (When life gets you down) (Seems profitable) (Yeah...I have mixed feelings about that) (And...it feels like a beta XD) (Now off to Johto we go) (Of course we know what I'd pick) (I like my sheep) (And...cue the battle) So I didn't record these for numerous reasons: 1) They are heavy RNG base so it took up to 4 times more attempts than any other fight in the game. 4 times of resets with Bugsy. The other reason is that I couldn't get a good feel for them. Though I did record Falkner who is the most reliable to KO with any of the teams. (Of course the Chikorita king wins...even if I mistake the name for Ephraim) (This is the only time a badge requirement is used for these fights) (I don't know how far it goes) So Falkner is actually in the just right difficulty range even on intense. It was a bit of a puzzle but I never felt the difficulty went too far. Of course I was running set mode with no items so things were going to be harder, but at least most intense fights I felt were within reason. Now I've heard Chikorita has it really hard at the start while other teams have it hard at around Whitney but I don't know how much truth is in there. But, I did draw something interesting you may want to look at: Well that was a rant...and thinking of other games people play DID YOU SEE THEY MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR COLD STEEL 3. I AM SO HAPPY AND A BIT SAD XSEED DIDN'T GET IT BUT I AM JUST HAPPY WE ARE GETTING IT REGARDLESS BECAUSE IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAME SERIES AAHHHHHH! Now back to things readers care about: (The only thing mad about him are his mad skills) (Okay...maybe he is a bit crazy. Harmless, but crazy) (Crazy people are fun though. Well most crazy people. Geara ain't fun...oh god I have to do more of his lines) (Maybe I shouldn't have told him to install a security system) (It didn't last time I was here) (Hi, I'm Commander and this is...) (I mean he gave me keys to his lab whenever he was away but...) (The other reason I have keys to his place) (Bye Flora, won't be seeing you for like 20 chapters) (I think my hiatus did things to you. You were supposed to be on my side) (............Are we really going to...) (Class is in sess) (Surprise new boss battle time) I really tried using Tropius but as you'll see it just...sucks. So glad the one event got chan...oh that's spoilers whoops. I mean you can make great use of a DD one but other than that it just has to be desired stats. (Oh he mad) (Is it me or do those white tiles look like a smiley face?) (Symbi what now?) (Well...yep that's Jenkel for you. Mutations being beneficial for Pokemon) (So you are harming them? I don't...it's Jenkel. I shouldn't question my master) (I understand. Just like how all critics are evil people who enjoy seeing others suffer. I mean I do, but not everyone likes to trash stuff for fun) (That smile is creeping me out now. Put the machine back) (Party at Jenkels? Actually, he seems like a party animal) (I'll be back...actually I won't since you don't have anything for me. Keep the bed warm though) (It was a fun distraction. Jenkel is the same as always) (..........................................................................................................I THOUGHT WE WERE DONE WITH THE IDIOT LOGIC!) So we are trying to save a girl in danger but instead of doing the smart thing we do the...you know what, I'll let that pass. This is not a fight I wanna fight. (Except we can't start it until after Amethyst Cave) I'm kind of sad as Jenkel had one of my favorite features in the game with the time machine aspect with that bed. The new event isn't bad but...I just really loved the old one. The change does make sense story wise since it involves Korrina pushing the plot instead of wondering around to find her so I guess it's a good change for anyone but me...even if I never want to go back into Jenkel's bed ever again. And not for route...oh we're still not done with Gearen. What more could be... (Oh god) (Well that escalated quickly) (Hi, I'm totally not here right now) (Gotcha! I'll meet you over there because I'm totally a Xen Grunt...but with a soul) (I would but that's the only one in the city) (...Is that a mother...NOPE! I'm not going there) (Go! Go! Xeno Rangers!) (Well that was incredibly easy) (Sometimes I wonder what goes through Jan's head when making these events. This is coming from a guy who thought of 8 ways to murder someone with a toaster) (And we haven't seen them since. Also, Swoop there it is!) (And here's a Pokemon I'm never gonna use) (Here's another Pokemon I'm never gonna use) (...Isn't this where Sean got the...) (Ay-U-da man) (Should've went with Amy so it'd be Ayu, Amy) (This is supposed to be a play on, isn't it? I don't get it. I think Ayu Ame Corp is better) (10/10 originality. Also has my gender and spells my favorite vegetable and starts with the same letter as my favorite Johto starter. It has much meaning behind it) (Well that sums up the choices pretty well, doesn't it?) (Are you saying I'm special? I guess I am if I traveled to another dimension where I have to redo everything I just did but nobody recognizes me...maybe that's why I don't talk) (Can't say I disagree? No, that does not give you permission to call me weird. Only my parents, a girlfriend, or Morgan Freeman are allowed to call me that. Of course Morgan Freeman can call me anything just so I can hear that soothing voice) (Too late. I just did) (I guess the white hair gave me superpowers) (..............................Oh heck no) (I'm just gonna skip over this next part.) (Why don't you ask Amanda? Not like she has anything better to do.) Also why didn't we get this at the start of the HC. It's not uncommon for people to finish up the HC before Venam and never walk back in here. It's just a suggestion since we'll be collecting these for a very, very long time it seems. (Is this like a cube where I shake it, it'll give me all the answers?) (Oh magic cube, should I ever come back here?) ...it didn't say anything so I assume no. (Well excuse me, princess) (Oh. This isn't FEH. Does that mean I can't...oh wait we're in NA. That feature was removed) And Nim time: (I forgot about that. That's a nice thing to get) (That line never gets old) (I...have something I should say) It's kind of implied Nim has been watching us this whole time and probably from the psychic real she's in. I know April said something about a tribe so I hope we eventually get to meet that tribe as they seem interesting. I doubt we will but I do expect April to show up later in the story. If she doesn't, that'd be sad. (Why did you guys wait for me? I spent like 20 minutes just wondering around for friendship evolutions) (So I actually want you to relook at these lines as it's actually a bit of self reflection. That much is made clearer in a rewritten segment of the game) (We go save Melia....I guess) (Fine. I guess getting Houndour will have to wait) (Oh. That's where the Galvantula came from...why was it here in the first place?) (I don't know if this was changed but it feels like it flows better. Also rifts look cooler now) (And another battle time) Bur first... (The one time Tropius was useful) (And we are into the next...) (So water cuts people in half...good to know) Yeah flowers function like grass so you get funny images like that. (That's kind of the game) (That's new though. Is that the egg from Mario and Luigi Partners in time? Kind of looks like Sunnyside. I'm going to look for a reference) I guess it is a unique sprite. Does remind me of Sunnyside though (So is it a baby or a mama?) (And begins my suffering) So I'm just going to say up front that I was planning on making a fail compiliation but that I feel is going to end up being too much work due to resets and such. But please, Jan add a PC in here because I was not prepared at all and I refuse to team up with Venam. Anyways, here's the video: (So this could relate to the moon...or the name could mean part as if she's part and not whole) (And Zetta got put in his place) (Oh hey, new reaction) (Ren trying to be the hero right now) Oh, I do want to take a step back and talk about some detail Ren mentioned later in the story. When he said "She lied to me" she didn't mean Narcissa but Crescent lied about Melia being dead which is why he joined Team Xen. The dialogue was changed a bit but I did want to clear that up now in case I didn't screencap it which I think I did. Okay so that scene I think was changed a bit (I'm not looking back to find that chapter but if someone can please tell me) as it doesn't feel as bad as it did, but there still wasn't much of a reaction out of it. It's better though or maybe my tolerance for the game has really skyrocketed since Terajuma. Whatever. I didn't mind it as much a second time around. (Will I get a reward out of it?) (Hold the...why are you wearing a hat in the overworld but not in your battle sprite? And how do you go from black to white to black. You're not Michael Jackson) (I already have. Just this time with extra suffering) (Well the gang fight was kind of anticlimatic...even if Vigoroth nearly owned me) (That's another thing cleared) (I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THIS LINE!) I know some spoiler stuff so I actually understand why she says this line now. (Guess we can't use this one...this run) So a soft restriction I put on myself is I can't use mons I used in the old run. So basically I can't have two Pangoro, two Leavanny, etc. Lycanroc is an exception since you can't get that one before V10/11 in the Dusk form. Besides, I like my doggies. (I kind of just randomly pick these up. I'm not going to get all 150) (Same old Jenkel. Never change.) (Thanks for the book) (Well that was easy) (...Great. Team Xen is involved with gangs. How low can they get?) (Sigh...we gotta do this the hard way it seems) (It's clear which option I picked...because I already know pretty much everything about these fields) I don't know if the dialogue changes...let me actually look...the dialogue is the same. I kind of wish there was a set for manning through the shocking. Something like "Holy shit I can't believe they made it through alive" or something. I love little details like that in a game. (...You're the only one I beat on the first try so far in this run...except for Keta but that was pure luck) (Yeah this is like death for Venam) (Well at least the place is more interesting) (It was only dark because I cut the power) (Not even a Tropius) (Heh!) So I have something special to showcase for this fight. And it ended up even funnier than I could have ever planned. (Sigh...another battle that was hell for me) And for my prize I pick... (I can see the rage right now) So the most logical choice would actually be Espeon since that thing hits like a truck and is great for Keta, but I wanted to go with Flareon since that's my favorite Eeveelution...sadly he won't be getting much use since my core team kind of didn't really need his use and the fights where he would be useful are brutal to fire types. Seriously, it's a terrible idea to bring a fire type to Angie unless you melt the field or change it. Even then she has so much coverage for them. Steel is the smart choice tbh. (I see that error is still in Rejuv as well) So something that the party system does that I didn't bother to fix was add Pokemon to the Pokedex. It's not a big issue and you can actually exploit that for the Johto fights gaining Totodile, Cyndaquil, and Chikorita by losing a few times. Nice way to pump up the Pokedex numbers a bit. Now for a couple things I missed: (...RIP Keta) (...That makes me feel like shit knowing what Texen does to this place. Like I ruined sacred ground when I did nothing) (I wonder why it's familiar hmmm....) (...I think this is actually a big plot point) I'm not sure if the story will be altered by your choices or not. Seemed like everything I did in the game played out more or less the same. Maybe Jan will throw a surprise but I won't be surprised if there's ultimately only one ending...kind of how I think most games should be. I don't particularly care for multiple ending games or branched path games since most of the time I kind of want a game to be a one time thing then done or at least be able to do everything in one run. (Kind of agree with that philosophy. False hope is still hope after all) (And I forget why I screencappped those. My feelings towards this part kind of remain the same...but thanks for early venoshock. I appreciate that for Roselia) And now... Here's our big fight of the chapter: Keta I got kind of lucky for a first try, but I did know what I was doing. I don't really think he's too bad though Lucario is a monster who probably could've swept me if I was unlucky. I don't think I could repeat it. I would say this is pushing the envelope of difficulty a bit much since we are still in the early stages of the game and not everyone is going to be running a Xatu or Swoobat. I kind of dislike the fact that it's all physical attackers as while fighting does lack special mons...it's the early game so there's PLENTY to work worth or play around with which disappoints me. One of the reasons I really like Reborn is the team design is often stuff you wouldn't expect which is sometimes used even if it does make the fight easier. I prefer creativity over difficulty any day. And that's about it. See you guys on the next chapter which probably is going to be my favorite thing to cover in this whole thing.

Gonna just drop in and say that there was quite a bit added, but not much was missed if you don't redo the older parts of the game. I'm really indifferent to changing stuff as time goes on because it takes time to redo maps (and quite a few places got completely redone. I...actually couldn't keep track of all the changes and I'm honestly more confused by it trying to figure out what got changed and what didn't and what dialogue got touched and what didn't. Most of them are obvious but it can be hard like at Blacksteeple to reread what you've read and figure out if there's a difference. There's 1.9k pics worth of differences (more like 1.5k) so yeah, I think Jan needs to lay off a bit with the changes XD. ------------------------------------------------------------ This...actually isn't a chapter but more of an update. I've caught back up to where I was in the run originally bar changing a few of my choices to see what they'd do. This is going to be a lot longer than I anticipated since there's 1.9k pics to go through which Blacksteeple was about that much. So yeah, that's a lot to cover. I'm just going to be going over my overrall thoughts on the rerun now and then doing chapters jumping into details. Let's just start off with the really, really bad which I didn't bother to even record battles for. Trust me, nothing is as bad as this or even close...not even Blacksteeple. So a new sidequest added was the fights against the Johto leaders. It's a good idea...on paper. So basically you pick a starter and you have a set team you have to fight all the leaders with. That doesn't sound so bad, right? I picked Chikorita and I honestly just swallowed my pride and used items. This is a man who spent 3 hours creating Veigue giving up on a challenge like that. So Intense mode actually changed the teams to make them stronger and this stuff has apparently been tested. Yeah...the leaders are tough...like insanely tough once you get past Chuck. I was expecting a really good reward for draining my item supply (not like I needed it for anything else though) and guess what the reward is? 25 AP. That's it. Just 25 AP. No TM. No Cool Mon. No lore. Just 25 AP. I have never been pissed off on a game as much as that in a very, very long time. Normal mode is easier, but it kind of circles back to the same result just with less frustration. Let me grind down my experience starting with Bugsy (which I used no items): I had to switch to Gastly and pray for a Hypnosis and a 2-3 turn sleep count. Then do the same to Ariados so I could get Bayleef in to finish it off and set up a reflect. Then I had to get flaafy in and thundershock scyther or t-wave and pray for at least one paralysis turn on top of praying the 20% crit chance doesn't happen. Whitney and Morty weren't terrible since I used items but Pryce was just...too much. Mamoswine one shots everything but Politoed and Espeon which Politoed 3 shots the thing...yeah, you can imagine why I wasted my revives on this fight. Every other fight in the game was cakewalk compared to dealing and figuring these out. And even then you may need to reset purely due to the field crit chance which team Chikorita has a lot of defensive maneuvers. By the time I hit Clair I was just done. I don't care what the reward is. It could be a Mewtwo and I wouldn't want to redo it. It's just frustration. Plain and simple and the reward was just icing on the cake. AP isn't a bad reward for something but AP gives QoL features which you can easily live without. It's not worth going out of your way just to shave off maybe an hour or two of playtime since you don't have to go back or drop moves on mons. I like the idea, but I think it was taken into a bad step. So how would old Mander have approached this? First off, I would've said no to battles being that difficult and make them be the same throughout all 3 difficulties. I wouldn't want this to be difficult because Rejuv is already bloated with difficult battles already to the point I kind of would want something relaxing. I would say normal mode should work for this idea. Now the game is meant to be a DnD styled game where your choices matter. In the current version, your choice is made at the start of the game, but what if that isn't your only choice? Let's turn this into a full scale DnD adventure where you make choices where to go and what to do. Let's take the Falkner segment. Your first choice is the starter but then you have a choice of exploring Route 1, Route 2 (or whatever the north one...you get the idea), or skipping on ahead. Each of these choices would give you a different Pokemon to use against Falkner as Route 1 would give I dunno Pidgeotto, Route 2 would give Onix, and skipping a Mareep. These choices factor into what your final team will be. So when you face Clair, you'd have a team you personally created and not a set one made by someone else. "But Mander, that's impossible to do" someone might say and...actually it's pretty simple. It'd just take quite a number of switches and probably best to make a script section for it to call upon. I could probably easily make it using the data from the custom made teams. It's keeping all the work they did, but toning down the fights so you can have a little nostalgic trip through Johto again. Maybe then people would want to start all over and try it out with a different team. As I said, I'm not mad about the 25 AP reward itself, but the fact that the reward isn't worth the frustration of this sidequest. Personally, I'd think I'd have a blast if it was reworked a bit like this. *************************************** But...*ahem* let's get onto the main stuff. I'll start with battles. Intense mode is hard throughout the whole game so I guess it lives up to its name. Other than Crawli being a bit too similar to Keta, I'd say the doubles are nailed down flat. I haven't reached Amber (obviously) but every double battle kind of had a unique feel. Singles...not so much. With every battle being focused on being super hard, you kind of start getting a samey kind of feel to them. You either counter them and it's easy or it's just straight up hell like Ren and especially Geara. That second Geara fight gave me pure hell and probably would have been my biggest struggle if not for sacrificing my one and only Telluric Seed. Max powered nukers this early in the game is kind of a risky play. My best singles options were kind of in my original run so...RIP. I kind of did get a bit bored with singles since it kind of relied using the same strat every one of those fights. The Madelis fights were actually some of my favorite in the game now. Though I do think this game suffers a bit of "too many bosses" now as the Sharpedo is now a boss even. As for other biggest struggles, I had a really, really hard time against an AA grunt's Porygon-Z. I had plenty of random wipes from trainers such as the one with 3 luxray on water surface. Sometimes I think those go a bit too far like the focus sash random trainer in Goldenwood Cave. And every time I see a stall mon on a random trainer it makes me cry blood as I rotate my team out as there's no point in keeping someone at cap when someone else could be using that experience. I have a love hate with the random trainers in this game. I'm probably going to keep intense on unless things get absolutely brutal then I can just jump back down. Intense is weird as hard battles like the Conk battle become a joke and easy battles like Novae become my bane. That last Novae battle I had a clutch win kind of bad. Even if I drop to normal mode, the set no items rule is continuing. No items really can change the rules of the game since you can't exploit healing both for you and the opponent and priority means so much more. As for story and map changes, it's honestly been pretty nice overall with my only gripes being it's a pain to hatch eggs and make babbies in Sheridan due to the layout and Taelia Resort is uhhh kind of hard to navigate around. It looks nice though. The spritework looks really, really good and you can really see the overhaul effect. Only thing is that new Aelita looks a tad bit tiny as an opponent. Maybe that's just me though. The mon lineup and TM selection is freaking fantastic. Getting T-wave and Brick Break this early does wonders. T-wave is one of my go to skills and keeps mons like Liepard relevant. Seriously, I feel like older mons don't drop like flies compared to Reborn where you feel where the drop is. Lopunny is still relevant. If you breed a fake out lopunny, you will not regret it. *Ahem* But yes, it's been more or less good things. Oh yeah, I like the new Xen Executive battle theme. I can really appreciate Jan taking criticism and this is the kind of the first time I'll say the effort kind of really paid off. So if whatever you're doing is how you make it successful then just keep on doing that I suppose. I would say Chapter 2 really, really rose from being one of my least favorites to being up there. Not there due to SEC though. I can't put a chapter with SEC in first place. I just can't. But I'm just going to say at the end of the day, enjoyment doesn't change that much. If you didn't like Rejuv before, you probably won't like it now. If you were avoiding it due to the offputting things told, I'd say try it since most of those are gone. Most. I don't think it's worth replaying though unless you haven't replayed since like V4 or I guess V6 even. A lot of cool things were added though. Now let's talk about my squad since I don't think they'll be mentioned much even in the videos: Main Squad: Notable Retired Mons I do try to keep things interesting and I still don't EV train or really check IVs/Natures except on one mon where it mattered. She needed lots and lots of Attack EVs just to get what I needed out of her. Anyways, I hope you guys will stay tuned when I eventually get around to the next chapter but we are going to be revisiting a lot of old places as thoughts and dialogue did change.

Major/Fatal Bugs V11
Commander replied to Jan's topic in Official Rejuvenation Club's Troubleshooting
So I think I repeated the glitch that Twintoop above managed to do which has to do with wiping on the Sharpedo battle. I don't know how that one works but wiping kind of makes you walk through walls and unable to exit any door. Interacting with people is fine though. -

For most of them, you are free to choose and you just need to beat one to get the job done. There is a reward, however, for beating all of the master fights but that one is difficult to obtain (for good reason). The game is made from the beginning until the end (I need to really update the OP) so you can do everything without worrying about missing something. The only mon I axed was Stufful since that thing is broken. Some events were moved around like Snubbull being earlier but most of them were just added on as additions. Oh yeah I did remove Nincada from the one egg since that is a cheese mon that definitely can break the game. Some mons were removed like Bronzor and Ducklett which the latter will be available in the next update coming on Monday but the other is available in Shade's gym. So yeah, the selection is pretty similar so don't worry too much about missing out on your favorite mon. It's just less RNG for mix mons. If they were easy then it wouldn't be called Master mode, would it? -

They should be three above cap so it'd be 28 for Florinia etc before they stop working. One thing to note is you may need to win a fight for that to work. Same goes for the auto leveler. As for the pricing, it's actually really cheap if you do the math. It costs 9.8k for just one rare candy and this is like getting 5 to even 80. Or even 160. Most late game trainers give that amount so it isn't so bad. It was mostly for other party members since they are time consuming to grind. You find them in the overworld after at least fighting them and partnering with them once. If it's the fact you can't pick it up, that's a me mistake die to how eggs are obtained changing. If it's an error message then that is a mod causing it. I fixed them for the next update but I am holding off until a week or a critical error pops up. I did something different for the Amaria fight though it only shows up on the Resh route. Wanted to see how people would respond to me doing that given I'd have to rewrite the entire event to put Jim there. I will give a hint. Nuzlockers can't face Amaria's master fight. Also dang you made progress. -
It's actually not that bad so far. While I am using some illegal mons, that's just because A) they are easier to grind up and B) I already did this once so I thought Intense mode would make a second go more interesting. I do suck at battling so we'll see if I have to turn it down later. I made it through Rift Galvantula so far. And note: never bring water and flying types to an electric type battle. I'll only be covering changes as I want the old parts to be brief but that does include sidequests and such if they are part of the changes. I'm also happy I can get Eevee now. Yay! @RedAlert I may have been playing the Nonary games which deal with that kind of stuff but...anyways, it's never a bad idea to talk about abnormal subjects and introduce and discuss them. There's a very massive world out there and you can't exactly know about every element possible in a story. Time travel alone has two different theories behind it. (Thank you again ZTD for teaching me how the other one works). As for the player, I can't exactly speak about them too much since we don't know much about them or even if they are human. But it's probably Crescent's kid given the context. --------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 51: Ludicrous Speed Guess What? We're going to be doing all of chapter one this chapter. It's gonna take a couple days, but we're doing it. But I do want to cover one rule of thumb of mind first given that it's gonna take me like a year to get to that part. Let me break it down on what I know: this game has a lot of ties to Reborn. Jan has worked with Ame on Reborn for a few things so it's no surprise he would reference it or at least pay some homages to it. From what I've gathered accidentally seeing stuff in RMXP and the discord spoilers, I have a pretty good grasp of where things lie. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but I think I'll try to make sense where I find issue in it (and it's not where you think). I'll be putting this into a spoiler just to warn you guys. So I do think it goes and uses way too much which never is a good thing. Game breaking? No, but it'll never leave a good taste in my mouth thinking about it. Not trying to diss you, Jan, but I'll never see Rejuvenation as a Reborn sequel. The two game take different directions in terms of story and design. That's not really good enough reason to avoid doing references towards another fan-game. In terms of players in Rejuv we could group them as follows: People who played Reborn and liked it, People who played Reborn and didn't like it, People who haven't played Reborn, and People who don't know what Reborn is. Let's just say 70% of the playerbase is the first category since most people who played Reborn have played Rejuv. Not a big deal that 30% of players won't really care for Reborn references, right? Not exactly. Let's just say that 30% of the first group really dislike games with a lot of Reborn references in it. That would mean half the fanbase dislikes them. And the more added the more the dislike ratio goes up. And there's really no benefit gained from doing this. It's also perfectly fine to show inspiration from another game. Smash Ultimate was inspired from Persona 5, but you certainly wouldn't call them the same game. Trails of Cold Steel took a lot of inspiration from the Persona series which are a lot closer compared to the first example, but they still manage to do their own things and both stand out. But you didn't need references to see the connections and ideas brought in from it. It also could have been pure coincidence. I'd have to look up sequels with new directors but I know a good example of where things go wrong is Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (I swear why is every sequel with Dawn end up bad to most fans. Radiant Dawn, Dark Dawn...) as people hate that game purely due to it being a Symphonia sequel and that it doesn't live up to that game's legacy. Rejuv isn't there yet, but it's teetering on that line which the reception would end negative at the end. Jan and Ame accel at different things as Ame really nailed the puzzle designs, some very, very creative battles, a unique story approach (which is hit or miss to most), and generally better exploration as it feels like you are venturing in a vast world. Rejuv really nails the colorful and vibrant feel and has better graphics. Sidequests are on par with each other. We could fight each other day and night, but the term "Inferior Reborn" isn't so hard to slap on it the more it tries to make itself to be like it. And I'm not trying to say the game is ruined or terrible, but just explain why you shouldn't add too many references to a game you were inspired by. I don't even like touching other people's work as I really do avoid touching Reborn's main plot as much as possible. It just feels wrong and every time I have to edit a story event in Redux due to a change in battles, it's like stabbing myself with a knife painful. So while it may not look that way, I really hate doing story changes but sometimes it's needed. It's also why I hate story connections from other people to a game if they aren't the original creator. Wasn't a big fan of the story connections to Awakening in Echoes (and RIP Marth appearance) despite the fact that it was probably the Awakening writers who made it. Just felt like shameless advertising then. Anyways, rant over and it is what it is. I'd have to really play the segments of the game to really judge them fully. That's just kind of my stance. Now back to the goo part. (Bitch, I was one badge away from getting past you. I got an army who could beat you down right now) The mapping is similar but some things got moves around and the bridge was added. Oh that bridge. (Huh. Wasn't expecting that) It looks better. And the more I look at it, the more I like it. I'm starting to wonder whether or not Jan is taking points from this run. Also I really like the touch of how the doors open. My first impression was that it's just a fancy Poke Center, but I think it works better than the old one as it's more pleasing to look at. The inside got redecorated as well. And yeah, we're doing the quests. (Not much changed here) I don't remember if she floated down from the roof but this event felt the same with maybe some altered dialogue. I didn't mind it before but I really did like her comment on how irresponsible the trainer was. Who bloody loses their Starly? That's like one of the best mons in the game. Hell, I wouldn't mind snatching it from her. Don't think she'd notice. And here's one big difference: (Oh god. Not the face! Not the face!) (...I think I'm in heaven. Nevermind, I'm not. Saki is here.) (I actually have done that during one of my jobs. It's fun) (Hooligan. Imma show you a hooligan) (Wait...we can do that? I'll sure you for the million you charge me. I'd be eating good for a while) (Bruises on the other hand...) (...Commander will remember this next time Sakai is in danger) (Probably revenge from the previous chapters) (I guess I am a street rat given I have no house) (I wish I had a helicopter) (You're saying that like it's a bad thing...I'm kidding. I don't want Saki to die. Take Venam instead) (...what?) (So go out and fish?) (...okay, I'll admit that is a good line) (Well that was certainly a greeting) (My feels) So I would say that introducing all these characters early is kind of pointless, but I gotta admit that was a great Saki scene. She's really started to grow on me as being an immature and looked down upon character due to it. I don't really mind her anymore. It does take me a while to warm up to some characters. I don't think she's a good character, but she's decent. Now I don't think any of this changed: (Well that explains why Melia is a future engineer student) (Nah. We got stuff to do) So you saw that detail. I guess that does make a bit of sense. It's a stretch but it's more logical than her just having natural talents. I would like to see more on Jenner though and his knowledge as that'd be interesting to look at. Anyways, I'm starting to think Jan has just been taking notes on things I rant about which more power to you since you fixed it and it flows better. Still blows me away Jan managed to make something that seemed impossible work. Melia still has issues, but there's really no way of avoiding it due to the plot. We'll go into that later though. But now... (SCREW YOU FOR GETTING 300 POKE OUT OF ME!) So this guy is tough. He has a hippo which is really strong at this point in the game. It's a bit of Paper Mario TTYD where this guy blocked the entrance but you could beat him at any point in the game to get rid of him. Same dealio here. But why did you have to give him sitrus berries. Those things are almost as annoying as potion spamming. Almost. (I just Veigued this again. Figured now would be the best time to get levels up. (Probably should've went back to him as you'll be in the PC forever) Well that was an interesting event but not really much to say. I just wanted to include it to show the difference. However... (Well this is new) (Just give me the money and I'll do whatever. I certain bridge guy beat my ass twice) (Guess we're back to errand boy) (Oh it can fail in so many ways such as the girl falling in love with me instead) (Show, don't tell. This man gets it) (So he be a stalker. Nice!) (But...that's a cute girl) (......If he falls in love with me, Imma kill you) (At least he's easy to recognize) (That sounds like me. I'm a broke hobo. 250 for a burn heal is outrageous) (If only you weren't gay, this would be a great bonding experience) (Yes, yes he did) (Now you're thinking. That's dangerous) (So a uhhh....Rawst Berry, right?) (Good thing I prepped and got a burn heal) So I'm just gonna say, I wish he gave you a bit of money as well to buy a present. I know you get the money back but it would've made more sense that way. This is a minor nitpick though and I'll finish the event before going over the rest of my thoughts, but as you can tell, this quest is different. (Do you know how hard it is to find a white haired man in this city? Every corner looks the same) (He did...I mean yes, he knew exactly what you needed.) (Yes. Eric is very thoughtful. He knows what to give a guy) (...I dunno what defines cuteness.) (YES! That means I get paid in full) (No problem. Easy money) (Congrats! I'm happy for you...just don't invite me to the wedding. Well you can, but I ain't being your flower girl) (...You owe me 250 for the burn heal) (I don't mind doing errands like this. Beats Terajuma) (Easy way to become broke) (I did and you have me a nugget. What a nice guy) I actually really liked this quest...despite the controversy we don't talk about. I thought the original version was lackluster which this one really kind of nailed what the quest should have been. Jan still had the "he's gay" surprise but it was brief and Eric didn't disappear right afterwards. I don't think it really mattered if it was a guy or girl which is the way it should be for a simple quest like this. Wonder if we'll get to see them later or if they are hanging out together. (Oh boy here we go again) (And now we get to talk about this...) (..........) Yeah...let's not talk about this because I hate it since it's an asspull since the original was a stone that made sense but Arcanine was axed and now this is the solution. Would've preferred a Pikachu gang honestly. I don't mind an over the top situation like stone convenience, but I think this was stretching it. (And I didn't record it) The fight was uneventful. Az said I cheated since it couldn't touch Litwick (why didn't it have bite) but actually it just kept hitting itself with confusion on Karin KO'd it without any help. Litwick did nothing and also didn't have flash fire. My luck is pretty funny as I'm either super lucky or have terrible luck. (Wet and full of holes. Like this event) (Hey, it's Luca. The one NPC nobody remembers but is part of the mansion chapter) (Uhhh...I may have spent 20 minutes grinding. Gotta abuse that partner up free heal) (What do you think two girls in one room will do? Ren? U okay?) (Oh. There's something I forgot to do) (This will probably be a cakewalk) (THIS IS NOT A CAKEWALK!) I guess we'll deal with this later. (Pretty sure this dialogue is the same but I wanted to show Melia's new sprite) (Well that was uneventful) So why am I using "illegal" mons? There's two reasons: 1) They're in my PC so why not and 2) If I don't use these guys now, I wouldn't use them in the future and stick with what likely is a more generic team to get by. Litwick actually is about on par with Shuppet in strength. Let that sink in. Sure I get a better Will-o-wisp user but it's the same deal. I'm not going to go for the most OP mon in my PC as I could just steamroll with the main crew to show new dialogue. So why not show off Litwick since nobody can use it since it's placed so late it'd only be good as a Chandelure. I also have limits as I can't use Mr. Mime, Sewaddle, Floatzel, etc so some of these are just fillers until I decide on a team. When you see the vids, you'll realize how irrelevant that fact is as most of the mons I caught in this run are doing the work. (...I have a 40 minute video proving otherwise) (And the rest is the same) Dialogue has been altered a bit so it's hard to remember what exactly is new and what remained untouched, but it gives the same general idea. We're really testing my memory as I haven't gone back to chapter uhhh 3 or something to sort that out. Now let's deal with her. And I planned to only do leaders at this point so I didn't make a recording. But we'll do it Mander style to explain what was going on. (Granberia loses about half her HP in exchange for I know what you're think and I will answer your question: yes. (That takes care of issue number one) (And...not as big of issue issue) (Intimidate is useful and my number one go to skill) (So is Baby-doll Eyes) And that was the point where I kind of lost the first time. So I had a few attempts but I used Nick Cage on Rockruff which worked. (Of course Charjabug the other big threat just had to paralyze me) (And down went the rock) So there was a switch which I used the bat there. And this is also another point where I lost, but here's how the good battle went down -Luxio KO'd Pickapeck -Switched in Litwick to Will-o-Wisp Stenee -Eventually KO'd Stenee with Embers from Fletchinder. Pain in the ass with Synthesis -Karin (what Popplio's evolution name is) used Icy Wind to take out Sandyghast before dying to Charjabug -Litwick Will-O'd Charjabug before dying -I think Swoobat was the one to finish it off. Either that or Nick cage. -Passimian came in and KO'd Luxio, Nick Cage, and Cordelia. Though Cordelia did manage to do some damage (she was the chipper) And finally... (Thank you Swoobat) And yes, I did obtain Swoobat legitimately by giving it a haircut and running around while hatching some eggs I neglected to hatch. Did you know that the left half of West Gearen is a big circle and easy to run around? Well now you know. (And that was a well earned victory) (Never doing that...oh god she's gonna have Lycanroc. Help me) (That's one dead team. Also, they are kind of trained up) (This is why you use your lights while driving kids) Don't remember if that NPC was in the older ones or not. But it's there, I suppose. (Nah. I wanna explore) (Oh look, another familiar face) (I just evolved two Pokemon from friendship, and I'm working on another 3. And I waited a year and a half to finish a mod and I've been working on a run for a year and half or close to that. I have patience to spare, lady) (At least she's honest) (Thanks for the Zinc I'll never use) At least they sell for a decent price (Now I'm thinking of Hocus Pocus) (I wonder who would actually win given each is weak to the other. My bets are on the Walter wannabe) Btw, I did catch a Rockruff to trade to the one lady. I did use Debug to rename it though. That's the only reason I'm going to use Debug though. That and to check stuff/fix it. You get the idea though. I'm not using it for Rare Candies and if it means I have to grind for an hour instead, I will grind for an hour. I told you I have patience. (We know how this all went down) (Boo! Give me Ren back) (At least she doesn't look like a litt..whoops. I should probably change that. I just used the legacy sprite since that's what I used in V10 for my sprites) (Yeah?) (Well that was a pain in the ass to kill) Praise Olivier. I know I used Roselia quite a bit but...I needed something else to grind given everyone is near the cap. Exp All is gonna be a godsend. (Not gonna use since I have Gaius) (And whoops I missed the blue screen moment. Not that blue screen but a shade...you know what I mean) And if you're wondering what's going on and where the Melia battle is well... My soundboard is awful and hates RMXP so you'll have to deal with some Audio hiccups or in this case an audio over it since the audio was corrupted. Everything past Rift Gyarados is fine though. Now for some fancy jumping... (Why is this thing even here) (Speedracer is awful. You'll see in the videos later) (The new design is okay but...I think I liked the original version better. I didn't get the female) (Ah, Eli. You never get old.) (...I'd go with sell. And Zetta must have a lot of patience dealing with these people) (Never change, Eli. Never change) (...DO IT! JUST DO IT!) (Yeah, I don't think it'll be that easy. Especially given the giant vortex of death in the lake) (I didn't record this video either. Sowwy) (Nor did I screencap. Sowwy again) Not much really happened if memory serves. Misdreavus got some KOs but it was mostly my mons doing the KOs and Melia doing jack to help. I am overleveled though which we experience some turned table in chapter 2. You didn't miss much here. (Surrender we done) (Careful. She hasn't gotten her shots yet.) (...Even though she's out of mons to use) (She may not, but I would...nevermind I won't. You're gorgeous) (And that's the end of those hooligans...for now) (And now for the moment you've been waiting for) I'd like to take a moment and say that the new rifts look super cool. Looks more like a hole ripe through space. Also this burn I think is new: (Oh so that's where you've been all this time) And...battle time! These aren't very eventful so I'm not going to comment. I know one of them I forgot I was on shift which is why I stayed in despite having the option. I have honor, if nothing else. I'm only in shift for the sake of grinding on random trainers. (And it's that time again) (I really wish he got knocked in with us). (And then he pushes us in) (That's different) (That moment when you expect it to be a long segment but suddenly it's boss battle time) I think this change is good as it's less "edgy" and really short which I feel these segments should be given you did a battle and an exploration segment even if said segment is short. (And you know what time it is) (They never did explain how she was able to do it. Not like this is the first game to ever have minor plot holes) (Oh hey, they explain why it's still alive) (I kind of miss the fact it poisoned the water to weaken it. Minor nitpicks though) (So no BS teleporting. Well that's certainly something) It's pretty cut and dry what got changed here. Zetta got a better burn and Melia doesn't have an OP af move. Guess that solves another issue in the plot. Wonder when Jan finally lost it and changed that. It's a good change though. (I think the dialogue was altered but basically the same.) (She knows Jenner is a traitor) (I'm guessing this better ties in with WLL) (And we're all gonna die) (Melia is pretty ignorant charging straight at the enemy when just escaping) (Jenner is face palming on the inside) I mean Melia has a point in which Jenner sent her in a trap despite knowing it was a trap. Doesn't mean it's a good idea to go shouting at him with someone suspicious in the room. (I love how confused Madelis is. I am too) (And I wasn't expecting this and freaked out) (Well this is new) (Well that ended badly) I used Yawn and I didn't save. I didn't expect the fight nor the one shot. Guessing the RNG is not on my side today. Probably could do it with two Ancient Powers but that'd require a boost. Well the dialogue isn't much different other than Madelis is impressed. There is a slight error as you see in the comment above. There's an easy fix as you can store the player name in a variable then call the script back for it. That's what I did for the party system. But yeah, I'm really glad this became a thing as playing as other characters. It's a concept that is not common in RPGs but temp party members always seem cool to me. It was a good surprise though I'm not expecting it again for a while. (Beauty? Am I qual...yeah I think Jenner is the only one who qualifies) (Explanation time) So imma blow your mind for a minute and you can blame ZTD. So you may be thinking "Melia is the damn luckiest girl in the world" and has absurd luck, but it actually could be the opposite. Let's just use the multiple universes theorem for a moment. Let's say that there's a universe for every situation Melia uses Metronome. Basically, Melia failed a thousand times, but we're in the one timeline that actually succeeded. But we don't know what happens in the thousand of other universes since we can't see them. So this one near impossible outcome was expected to happen given that is what this timeline's destiny is. Confused? It'd take me a minute to fully explain but it's not as bullshit (still bullshit) as you may think. (Wut?) (Well this is certainly new) (City not...whatever. Or vicinity. Learn2word Jan) (Well that was...something) (I guess I'm irrelevant. Good because I don't wanna face that houndoom) (I'm guess Nastasia and not Madame X) (Bye ginger with too much dialogue and ego) (Yes, there's a lot of 'em. Where do you find these kinds of people?) (This dialogue is the same) (Over the top camera angles are new) (That certainly is new) Can we just take a moment to appreciate that awesome new animation. So much cooler than a random warp. I never said I didn't like flashy as I love flashy. One way to make me go into Praisemander mode. But...the rest plays out the same so read if you want. Imma skip down. (Well nothing came out of that). Nothing else really changed so now you know what time it is: (I beat up a ton of them too) (And cue da boss battle) We're going to end on the Venam battle since the dialogue is all the same. If you're interested just go back to that chapter to read it. But here's what we've been waiting for. As for that fight, I feel like it could be toned up a little bit but the mon selection is fine. She's just lower than the exp growth curve as I had like 10 mons at the cap which at least 5 of them were from this run itself. It's whatever since it is the first gym battle and it's meant to give you a taste and see if you're ready or not. As for my strat, it was pretty simple: keep Swoobat alive until Seviper so that I could take things out quickly. Mereanie was something I wasn't sure if I could one shot which is why I did the switch. I definitely had plenty of ammo to spare as I was expecting a Posium-Z strike. I was prepped a bit too well for this fight. As for the episode itself, it pretty much solved my main complaints on top of adding an extra little with that Melia fight. Episode 1 was always my favorite as it was tame with a mix of misadventures and it really nailed how to handle the pacing even if you didn't need a huge area to explore like Gearen City. I guess I really, really like it now with very little to complain about. Maybe tone up the cap here but I tend to explore then do story. It's a habit as sidequests often get locked out if you don't do them right away in RPGs I play. Also can't really think too well since my knee is killing me since I pulled it. On a side note, let me know what battles you want me to record as it's pretty easy for me to do these. These were boring battles so there's not much for to talk about (even the gym battle was anticlimatic) and there's not fail compilation since I did everything in one attempt. I'm only going to be doing main story battles unless you want me to do special fights like Novae or the Conk fights. Or if you want me to only do gym battles I can just do those. It's really not that big of a deal since it's just mostly a push of a button and an upload. Anyways, I gotta get further since this is more or less enough for a chapter I have right now.

Gonna be a while before I get to another Rejuv chapter up, but Chapter 1 (Venam Gym Segment) ain't perfect, but it's pretty damn close.

Yeah, I was fiddling with Rejuv and I see what the issue is. Mystery Egg seems fine but the other three seems to not work due to the script being rewritten -

@ArcBolt27 I know exactly what went wrong. The coding for eggs got changed so I'll need to redo that. Can anyone report any eggs outside the following that don't work (if any in the list works, please tell me) -Girl in Onyx Ward (Save Daycare Couple) -Obsidia Slums Egg -Malchious Forest (The forest in Jasper Ward) -Police Station Mix Egg (May still work) Sorry about that, but I made an assumption that turned out wrong about eggs. Try having a slot open to pick it up and it should theoretically work then. -

Yes. You think I'm that out of touch. -

@Ainz Ooal Gown You can make adjustments but it won't show or I won't be uploading a new release until a game breaking bug shows up or another big feature is ready to be rolled out (though there's only one left on my list which won't be for a while). Just ping me in the create a thread so I know there was a change. -
Just a couple bugs I've noticed while playing: -On the ship up until you hit the gate, your trainer card will display Maria (I think you meant to disable it or something) -Switching Save Files on the start screen may cause a crash -Seviper Egg can't be picked up -When battling Madelis in Jenner's Lab, Melia's name is displayed as our own -If you lose to Rift Galvantula more than twice, Ren and Venam will be too far back causing the game to hard lock (honestly I'd just slap Ignore if can't move on them to solve this rare situation) -I'm not sure how Parental bond works, but if the first Pokemon attacked from spread damaged is KO'd, it'll activate on the second Pokemon when it normally wouldn't causing them to take more damage. Not a huge issue but a bug nonetheless.

@Angelkitsune I think I know what happened there but let me double check. Just don't use the synopsis for the time being until I figure out which entry is glitching out. Sorry about that. Edit: Uh could you tell me which one caused the glitch because I'm looking at it with a save an can't seem to repeat it. -
I got the pain in the ass part done so let's continue with our Rejuv... Oh no... Okay, now it's explanation time. Am I completely redoing the run? Yes and no. Let me try to explain it the best I can. Jan spends a lot of time redoing areas which he has redone Gearan City once again and so many overworld sprites got a revamp. This is going to be a repeated thing I'm going to say throughout about it may be too much, but I want to say that this time it paid off. I can't say the same will happen for another go around. The issue isn't with how good or bad it is, but often times devs to this and it leads to botched or half finished endings. A strong ending is actually pretty rare as devs often are low on budget and pretty much are exhausted by the time they get to that point. There almost always will be a point where you are going to go into half ass mode because these things take years to do. This isn't one of those you should listen to me, but more of a warning not to exhaust yourself trying to get everything right. I mean I tend to dream big, but the reality part of my brain kicks in and tells me that not all of that is possible with my limits. I feel a lot of these areas went from good to don't change at all. Now let's get into what I'm actually covering: it's going to be a combination of changes and a jog through the past. Due to that, I don't need as many pictures so you won't get as heavy of rants or long sections of dialogue unless it's really changed. The beginning is probably going to be the longest part but there is another piece to what I'm doing and we'll get back to that. Now let's jump to the next chapter (I debated if these would be Chapters N-1 or 50) Oh shit...I forgot response(s) I just looked at a short LP of it and it's kind of like a Monkey Island protag which could be amusing. The things that turned me off was the sheer amount of NPCs in the game pics which gave me the impression it was loaded with generic dialogue. It's really hard to tell if a game is good but I tend to err on store bought games over free ones when deciding between two. Kind of the the Zero Escape series which I actually can apply that in the beginning so yeah? I only recommend 999 though as the other two are a ho boy explanation. Now back to being on topic where I often go off topic. ------------------ Chapter 50: A Leap Through Time (We'll go over it in a minute) (Sorry I missed the first half) (...what a shitty bedtime story) So something about Bedtime stories in games is that the answer is right in front of us. There's a lot more to this story as you saw back during the Amber chapter with the puzzles as it also included a Darkrai. I think the story has two different meanings though. The first is an event yet to come in which Melia is the Zorua hence why she uses Zoroark a lot (could even be linked to Mosley), but also an event that had already happened. The Golden Apple would clearly be the gifts of the Garufa being able to use their powers which you could see why someone would both fight and bond over it. Perhaps it's an event that we will have to renew. I cannot say how important these events are, but likely this story is telling us the future and/or the past and we see the effects of it. Hard for me to say how thought out it was not knowing the full plot. (I just added these pictures because her mom looks like a Samurai viewing her form the side) (Okay, this is actually important) So player awareness is a dangerous tool to mess with as it can really botch the game. It's absolutely a great tool for a satire or comedy type game which I totally think Rejuv could've really pulled off, but we'll have to be realists and that's certainly not the direction Rejuv is trying to go for. People think the serious tone is the most effective way to make an enjoyable game, but honestly, I could say it's what ruins them since everyone goes that route. I honestly don't mind turning my brain off and enjoying games about nonsense once in a great while. This could be a turn off, but I do want to wait and bring up a major point. (a picture is worth a thousand words) There's probably more to this story but I don't exactly know every little bit about it. I do wonder looking at the picture now if Maria's mom is giving off a nervous smile since she's looking off to the side and away from her husband. Not sure if that's too much thought or on the right track. (Is that the city Anju wanted to know about? I don't remember) (Pretty sure Indy got a new sprite...if that's Indy. It's hard to keep track of people in this game) (It was a sound) (And the cycle begins once more) (I think I know who she's talking to) Remember how Maria was talking to the player? I think that's what Madame X is referring to. This would be very meta but when you restart the game, the cycle repeats itself. Why on earth would Madame X know that? Well it is possible she is Maria/Melia, but...I'm not going to assume that just yet. Things make more sense about her when you think about it this way: what if Madame X isn't alive? Her ace is the symbol of death so that could be symbolic to someone who has stared into the Abyss and is willing to do the extremes to stop it. Think of it like this for example: Melia couldn't be sacrificed because if she is Maria she would have been sacrificed causing the fading in an out moment. Why? It's possible her soul was split in half creating Madame X (with X symbolizing life). We would go down a rabbit hole of explanations as one possible thing is that she knows what will happen, but has to do these things to ensure the world is shifting on the right path. (And she forgets it soon afterwards) (Because we need to flip the event trigger) (And snap back to reality) (Okay...) So this is the actual event and the other event was looking into a mirror which is unusual as I think both happened. Perhaps it is two different worlds which she has jumped across or maybe something else. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish fact from fiction but I hope this gets answered sooner rather than later as Maria and Marianette are the same age. (Pretty sure this is why Melia is so important) (And that's all the intro) I didn't think I would be quite dedicated to this run so this kind of is nice to look back at knowing more about the game and have documentation of the intro to refer to. The rest is going to be big skips since we've (Yep, that is what you think it is) I'll be going over the rules and restrictions I put on myself at the end of the run. And yes, I did modify the game a little bit which I'll also explain. (Another detail I learned is that she's in GDC...though she probably said that and I forgot...but look at that face) (Yep. Your boy is back in action yet again) It was kind of close as a lot of people voted for Bubblegum girl but our white haired protag named... (MY NAME ISN'T MARIA!) Yeah, that's such an easy fix I'm surprised a careless mistake like that was made, but also how. Still not a fan of this new menu. I mean it looks nicer but I prefer being able to see everything. (We will be speeding things along) So I don't remember those fountains having animations, but nice touch regardless. Not much for the ship itself has changed but it looks much better than the original one. But on the not so nice changes... (Sometimes I wonder about Crescent) So...I don't really like the new Shiny Gothitelle. That may be more for my general distaste in shinies in general. Let's take a moment and step out of the fan-game world. Shinies are so rare you may not even see one for years. Back in the Gen 3 and 4 era, I'm sure many people didn't really have an idea they existed other than the fact of Shiny Gyarados. Now let's jump into fan-games. The rate is still 1% which is still quite rare. We're thrown two character early on now with shiny Pokemon. Yeah, that can be a bit aggravating similar to the whole not being able to use a legend but everyone else can dealeo. End of the day, shinies are less of a deal in this game and despite being custom ones, feel less special. Not really a pro nor a con, but a fact. I just don't really like them in general. Probably doesn't help my thoughts on Crescent. The issue with her though isn't her character but the early game storyline. You do something, doesn't work, someone does an asspull to resolve it. Beginning of the game through Angie in a nutshell. Nothing you do matters. (Even now I'm still bound to beds...despite Jenkel losing his role) (Time to go into theory crafting) We really haven't seem much of Blakeory but it would make sense if he was in cahoots with Team Xen. After all, they'd need money to do the things they do. Don't think they are, but you never can tell. Would also make sense how they easily found the boat an attacked it. (.........Time to get murdered) I'm not really sure how I feel about Piano Lady getting a custom sprite. She just is a nothing character everyone loves. She appears twice and then was kept being brought back. I just don't get it. It's kind of like the Orderly John thing. It's probably because I'm like the black sheep of the community with my tastes being different, but who knows. I will say I find her role on the boat amusing, but I think she stayed on the screen too long and was used a bit too much. I did say one-off characters can really leave a good experience. A good example is Randall from Reborn. You don't expect him to show up again so it's a nice surprise you can check on how he's been. (I never noticed this until now. Still the even engaging "..." bonding) (I miss the ginger) So team Xen got some sprite redesigns, but do you know the saying "Don't fix what isn't broken"? I feel that applies here. I feel the changes to their sprites make them less interesting to look at and pretty much now look like Rocket Grunts. I don't know why the decision to change them was made but I always liked the Team Xen design. I know it was only slightly changed but it doesn't look as good for some reason (I blame the female hair color change). It's not bad, but just not as good. (First it's tentacles) (And now it's wet) (I've seen enough...okay, I'll stop) So Nastasia now appears using some sort of teleportation device with an "N" symbol that my "catlike reflexes" missed. Nice touch and more logical than bloody Melia's explanation on how to get places. Nastasia seems to know quite a bit about technology so her having something like that is in the realm of sense. Though that then loops to the Madelis/Nastasia given they have such similar roles. (Time to break down the scene change) So the difference from last time is that Narcissa shows up when we do and our "Mom" wants us to take her Pokemon and run. I guess that makes more sense than one mon, but of course it's going to end the same regardless. I don't even remember my boat complaints but whatever they were are probably gone. (...I guess Neved had a lot of me time since our Blacksteeple Hiatus) You know when you aren't sure how you feel on a subject, but will probably sound more racist than it really is. That's my thoughts on this. I don't really know why the skin change. It looks overall better but...it's just weird especially given the whole Val might be his daughter thing. I'm not really against it, but it feels jarring since I'm used to the original one which didn't look too bad. Kind of different compared to Amaria who I really didn't care for the design given it was pretty much Hilda. I'll see what his VS and in-battle look like later before giving a final judgement. It's fine. Just something that will take me a bit to get used to. (And I missed the Talonswoop. Oh well) But for changes I like... (Okay, let's all admit this is really cool) I love chapter segregation in which we see a chapter screen. Also thank you for including a save at the start of the chapter. I like this change as it helps break up and divide segments. (Grunts in a nutshell) (Bye Tesla. You're still my favorite) (I'm sad. I'm going to have to go through this suffering all over again) And now for the one thing that people are confused about and it's really talked about for a certain "Mega Ring": And yes, this is spoiler but this is a run so that's to be expected: (Free ride to Hoenn, hmm...) (Well that's a rather sudden decision) (Oh hello voice of reason. I missed you) (And good day!) I missed some of the dialogue but basically it's a free trip to Hoenn. Here's what happens if you say yes: (...I'd actually be yelling. "PLEASE DON'T SINK! Please don't sink!") (I guess I am in a better place) (Are you kidding I have zero...well I guess finishing the run would be one) (I actually have never had a pina colada) (...But who will I have Ice Cream with?) (Huh?) (I destroyed Rejuv...wasn't I doing that already?) (Best. Ending. Ever.) (...well that happened) So let's break this down. It's honestly one of the few times I've laughed my ass off in the game this hard. It's easily the funniest addition with the music being the icing on the cake. Too bad it kind of is getting ruined. Like this is such a great game over that it's worth seeing just for the sake of seeing, but some of you are aware of the whole discord thing. Basically people are going around saying this is part of the Mega Ring quest. I know it's a joke, but I'm going to be the guy to say that it's not funny. People have been doing this kind of shit for years and it died out for good reason. It also just leaves people confused and may end up dedicating hours to figuring out what is supposed to be a quick joke or laugh. It's one thing to tease, but this is more or less tricking someone and playing with their desperation instead of being helpful. I really don't think that's right as now half of you are on my never listen to list. Congrats! I'm not mad (I figured it out way before even reaching it) just disappointed this gag went this route. I'm going to clear this up now: this is basically an alternate ending or bad ending to the game. I even checked the game events themselves to make sure. There's nothing special about it and this is all there is. So if you think there's something else to this, there isn't and don't let people make you think otherwise. It's worth seeing still as it's pretty funny and you can hit try again once you get a game over it seems so you don't lose any save data. There's nothing to worry about seeing it. Those are the good kinds of game overs. I'm pretty sure there's no Mega Ring as well. Everything else people say I think is actually true, but I have no idea anymore. (Look at all the fine ladies on the street) I still wish these binoculars had dialogue. Wasted potential. (...Oh boy, my favoritest mostest character ever) Amaria hasn't changed but she doesn't ride the ignorance train as much so it's much, much better. Pretty sure a lot of her lines were rewritten as they flowed better. Either Jan is reading this run and agreed or just noticed that and wanted to change it. Could have honestly been either. (Well this is new) So I'm just going to say this. DO NOT CHANGE THE LAB FROM THIS! I feel like this is more or less just perfect for the design as it is really unique and stands out. Kind of gives off a school and lab type place and I think it works. The original was fine, but I looked and the events and I kind of see why it got changed. I wasn't trying to spoil myself, but mostly trying to figure something out. Remember how I have a really old save and spent a lot of time grinding? I was going to make this just a run to see the new changed but...it's going to be part of the official run. Now I know what you're thinking "What's going to happen to Loewe, Walter, and the rest of the gang?" well... (I didn't forget) No, you aren't imagining things. This is everyone from the original run in the PC. And no, I don't have the Shared PC mod working to do this. If you really want to know, I just commented out wiping the PC when starting a new game. I tried so many other methods before that, but this is the only one that worked out. Which reminds me: the new multiple saves system is nice, broken, but nice as it makes save swapping easier. I don't know why it breaks for some files but not others where you have to open up the game again since it crashes. Anyways, I don't have the pic of what to do on hand for anyone interested nor a script since I removed the comment, but it's pretty easy to do for those wondering how they can transfer their Pokemon to a new game. It's not the Shared PC mod I'll say once more. I'll go more over this once we hit the end. (Hi Flora. We haven't met, but I like you...I think. This better not be a Venam complex) (We'll get back to her in a minute) (And that's how she got the hat...not by sending box tops in like the rumors said) (Hold it! There's one thing we need to cover) So something Gearen City did was add in a few NPCs who will show up later. I'm indifferent to that. The scene here has some background noise which can be cool or funny, but usually only when dialogue is going to be boring or long. Not a bad thing here as I guess someone could go "Oh, I remember that guy in the lab!" I personally like it, but I don't want to encourage people to do it. But if you want to spend the time going for it, then go for it. Doesn't really add much value, but I always enjoy a good Easter egg. (I liked her better without the hat) (I thought they said they were bro and sis, but oh well. I'm just going to assume it still is or I skipped some dialogue) (Get it? 'cause she uses Fire mons...I'm going to run out of captions soon, aren't I?) (Well that's a new sprite) I might be imagining it but it looks like everyone was polished a bit. Whatever overhaul people did for them was worth it. And by people, that probably means Zumi, but I don't know if anyone else does spriting and I don't want them to feel left out. Jan does everything so it all goes...HOLY SHIT THOSE FLOWERS BELOW LOOK AMAZING! Y'all need to calm down with the new graphics as I can't take it. Too much too soon. (Totally not suspicious) (I wish my chalkboard doubled as a monitor) (...hold up...you know the drill) I love this new Jenner sprite. I always wondered why Jan and Jenner were in the same place, but now it kind of works since Jenner is an instructor. His new design is really more suited for that role as well and he honestly just looks better. Good changes so far. (Or he's a scientist. Guess he has that look as well) (She's getting way too excited about this) (And now for the one bad change) So this is kind of Phoenix Rising styled Pokemon selection. It's not bad, but the old one was better because it was a big connected area. I really liked that more as it reminded me of Phenac City Gym and that was such a cool idea. It's fine though and I understand that since the map got redone some things had to be cut. The pro is that mons are easier to find and select and Oshawott still tries to follow you. But it's not as cute since it's trapped in a tight space. It's certainly not a game changing experience. Now let's just get to the part where I show you what mon I picked: (This thing) It was either this, Froakie, or Fennekin since those are the only three starters A) I don't have already and B) I haven't used before. I did do something with it in Debug because I realized the perfect name for it and I didn't feel like completely going back and soft resetting for a girl. I would have though. (I guess I didn't need Loewe for this fight) (You're about as weird as I am. Guess that's okay) And we also kick Ren's butt, but I think your imagination would be better than the actual fight and totally not because I forgot to screencap it. I don't remember the explanation in which he uses Jenner's mons to explore, but that does make a lot of sense as it's similar to the Wally situation in Gen 3. Another good change. Something tells me I'm probably going to end up liking Rejuv a lot more going through it again but faster. But no, we're probably not going to go this slow for all of the game as I expect the Goldeenwood chapter to be like this size in its entirety. Maybe even put Blacksteeple in there as well kind of short. (...WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?) Ignoring the implied torture shipping, I'm sure you noticed the yellow words. I could care less about them but they are pretty needed for Pokemon Players since people don't read. Then when I make that assumption, it's wrong and people actually can read. You just never know so that is a smart move. And wow, this episode came out fast if dialogue got overhauled like this. (And I got a bunch of stuff back) And here's the crew I'm going to be running with for now: So all-in-all there's been a lot of good changes. Now, you may have noticed a few things. Many of the mons on my team aren't available yet. That is true, but I also pretty much beat these guys before so it'd probably not be interesting to do it again. Also RIP Aqualad as I wanted to name the starter that as a nod the old Swordmaster himself. Should also name something based on Veigue's Grandma given I had to leave her behind to transfer all of them. Anyways, I'm doing intense mode, but there are going to be some restrictions which are as follows: 1) No items in battle (both me and the opponent) 2) Set Mode 3) No changing the terrain cheese (Unless absolutely needed) I had to mod the script files in order to do this so opponents will no long use healing items in battle which is always one big annoyance for me. I also removed the disobedience bit of code so technically I could have plowed through the game if I really wanted or can if I want to skip a fight. I do have a plan to use this down the line. And other than Debugging Popplio into a female and renaming it, I'm not going to be using Debug either. Everything will either be a mon from the old run or a newly trained up one. I also carried over a bunch of my inventory from the original run like stones, gems, candies, etc so I didn't lose much outside of TMs. Should've taught SEC sludge bomb. Depending on the response, I may end it once I get past Angie unless people really, really like it. I'm doing this for two reasons. The first is to have videos of all the old leaders, but the bigger reason is to show people I ain't full of shit when I complain about battles and it being a me issue more than a game issue.
