I would be honored to be the first one to undertake this challenge. I love trivia in general with Cash Cab, Trivial Pursuit, TrivaBot, etc. Bring it on! *flexes brain*

Yes, before all of this Investigation Squad business, I was getting to know the Gym Leaders in a relaxed setting. No interviews required, just conversation. Then again it was much easier when other Gym Leaders could come on at once, even if it was a bit annoying during battles sometimes. And to all you sick perverts who wanted to shag Shelly, for shaaaaaaame And yet once I go on that date it will probably the most official of any of the couples with Gym Leaders. Considering that everyone else is closer to being pals than going out being an item. But nothing will ever beat Miss Kitty feeding chocolate covered raspberries to Ame on his bed in lingerie. I didn't want to reveal this set at first, but most everyone has seen it already. I can proudly say that it has only lost to Critical Hits and Ghosts. Stockbelly Snorlax ~ Stockpile ~ Belly Drum ~ Rest ~ Body Slam Item Attached: Leftovers Ability: Thick Fat EVs and Nature: EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SpDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SpAtk) You can either start trying to Stockpile right away to make Snorlax more durable, or you can go for Body Slam. This move gets STAB, standard Base Power, and most importantly it can cause paralysis. Starting with Body Slam you hope to paralyze to help you set up. Once you get 3 Stockpiles up, you have +3 Def/SpDef on an extremely bulky Pokemon. Rest off the damage and when you awake either use Body Slam to try and get paralysis and damage, or go for Belly Drum if you think you can survive to Rest again. With +3 Defense (625), +3 Special Defense (640), +6 Attack (1032), and STAB Body Slam, Snorlax is ready to tear apart a team. You can put the 8 EVs in Defense into Attack if you want, but I prefer the extra defense to extra power. Thick Fat is better than Immunity because even if you get Toxic, you can just Rest it off. Use Snorlax as a late game sweeper so you can eliminate anything that can cripple it. This include Ghosts and the moves Trick, Taunt, and Leech Seed. This set was showed to me by one of my favorite battlers, TheFlamingSpade.

Thank you, Amethyst. Hopefully I can help to improve the standards of the forum so there is a more enjoyable experience, for both new and old members. Might take me a few days to go through all my new powers and figure out what I'll be doing, but I can tell you now what I intend to do. #1 - Double/Triple/Quadruple Posting I cannot tell you enough how annoying it is to see people do this without any real reason. Now it is completely understandable if you are trying to honestly revive a topic, but most of the time that's not what happens. What I see is people posting, then going back a few minutes later to add a thought. There is an Edit button, edit your previous post instead of making two or three new posts that are just one liners. I ask you now to remember to edit and if you don't I'll be editing the posts myself. #2 - Conversations There will be two or three people that are consistently posting back and forth and again there are some situations where this is allowable. But again those situations are rarely the cause. People will post back and forth with only a few minutes between each post, clearly watching the thread to jump at replying. On top of that the posts are usually short, like one sentence long. If you are going to post 10 times in the span of 5 minutes with a total length of only 11 sentences, go somewhere else to have your conversation like PO or some other client. Don't clog the forum with posts you could text on your phone in a matter of seconds. Again, if you fail to do this I'll just edit the conversations into a single post or outright delete them. #3 - One-Liners Now this one is a little more difficult to enforce and there is no clear line for it. What I'm talking about is when you post a single sentence or something that's just one or two words. I was personally raised under the internet etiquette that when you post, it should contribute to the topic. When someone just posts "lol Awesome lol," I cringe and attempt to reach through my screen to strangle the post. Sometimes you can just post a little blurb that is only one sentence. What is important is that it is relevant and not posting for the sake of posting. #4 - Proper Topic This is something that isn't really a problem, but should still be addressed. People have posted in topics that didn't have any relevance to what they wanted to post about. This happens because either a) there was no appropriate topic or b ) there was an appropriate topic but they didn't look very hard. If it's the first one, go ahead and make a topic about it. It's always refreshing to see people starting new topics to spread the discussions out over the entire forum. A good example of this is the discussions on the Gym Leaders and the investigations, even if I'm not really involved in it. Try to find the correct topic or create your own. And in the same vein as this, if you have something brief but important to add to core topics like the rules, feel free to contact staff so we can edit the original post with your new information. It's fine for people who have done this already since they are contributing. I merely want to do this to keep such topics down to a few posts for organization. #5 - Proper Grammar This should be pretty straight forward. Think before you type. As someone who enjoys to read and the English language in general, I will throttle you. This means posts such as "lol u r funnez lol plz post moar lol." See that makes me scream bloody murder. And then beyond obvious things like that, just read through your post before submitting for errors. I've written long posts before and missed things like typing "an" instead of "and" and that's just a good habit anyway. Respect your language people! Those are the basic things that I'll be looking at and just understand that there will be other things. I just want to make sure that the forum is more than just mundane posts that have no rhyme or reason. If we want to grow and add new members, standards must be met and currently many of us have fallen below them. Everyone knows how to do these things, it's just a matter of actively following what is right. The Pokemon G-Men are here to restore order.

I'm giving it to N8 because he went beyond just their stats. Not much else reasoning to it so yeah, you're Prof. Oak now. And Stars, you couldn't have Charmander in Yellow when you fought Brock

Whoa. Your Wii overheated, too? I really want to know how you fixed and how much is costs, but it sounds like yours is still broken. At least I know overheating and burning out something isn't unique to me.

I give it to NoGoodBoyo! Artie is supposed to represent the image of athletic. That and N8 just had to choose an image of Captain Falcon punching Luigi, MY character. *Finger Pokes N8 off the screen*

Snow Cloak - Evasion increases 20% in Hail Ice Body - Heals 1/16 max HP in Hail. Now I consider boosting evasion to boost a stat. Evasion can't be EV trained, but that along with move accuracy is still important. And Ice Body is just the Hail version of Rain Dish. I concede that neither really allows for a sweep like Swift Swim in Rain, but I just wanted to say that Hail can DO something. Again, Hail not nearly as common as Rain Dance nor is Sunny Day. But everything can do something at some level of the metagame since there is UU and NU, not just OU. I also don't understand why Salamence got banned along with Garchomp, but hey. Smogon is the authority and there was....some reason. Besides, those are the only two non-legendary Pokemon in Ubers...and Wobbufett *shudder*. The rest are there mostly for raw stats. I still stand by that they won't ban Tyranitar and Hippowdon just because they have Sand Stream. And again, we have no idea if this Pokemon that has the ability that boosts Ground, Rock, and Steel attacks in Sandstorms or boosts its speed in Sandstorms will be any good. It might have awful stats or awful moves or something that makes it UU or NU. If that ends up being the case, we won't ban the OU Tyranitar to restrain some NU pest. We also don't know if they are going to give other Pokemon the abilities Drizzle or Drought. So don't go freaking out about weather wars just yet. And besides, despite two strong Pokemon with Sand Stream, you don't see Sandstorm teams dominating the metagame.
Even one pokemon can sweep a team if it has a boost as simple as sending one pokemon in. Kingdra and akabutops decimate teams in their respective tiers without much support other than weather.
I didn't say a Pokemon couldn't sweep with proper support. Kingdra with Swift Swim gets a huge boost. What I said was they wouldn't get rid of the Pokemon that provides the boost. A Pokemon like Tyranitar that can do several things in addition to setting up Sandstorm won't be placed as Uber just to prevent a Sandstorm version of Kingdra. They didn't remove Abomasnow for being able to set up Hail. Sites like Smogon won't sacrafice one Pokemon to nerf another.
-
They've only released one Pokemon that has the ability to double Speed in Sandstorm. I highly doubt they would move Tyranitar and Hippowdon to Ubers just because they can set up a single Pokemon. We don't know what other Pokemon will have this ability nor if the one that has it will end up being any good in the Metagame. I have been rather disappointed with the type combination of a lot of the new Pokemon. When I saw Wooguru, this epic war eagle, I thought it would be something new like Fighting/Flying. But no, it's just another Normal/Flying type. I thought Rankurusu would be Psychic/Ghost because of how it is translucent, but it's just plain Psychic. And then most of them are just a single type like Rock or Normal. I'm just hoping that we see some more type combination. I am interested in Kurumiru because it's the first Grass/Bug Pokemon since Parasect. Now Parasect isn't exactly considered a beast and part of that is its typing and some of it is its stats. But hey, it has Spore and it was an interesting and unique type since the original games. Also like Emonga as I think the only other Electric/Flying Pokemon is Zapados, correct me if I'm wrong. So while it's not technically a new combination, it's new for a common Pokemon. If only they hadn't made it white as that is the only part of it that makes me think of Pachirisu, but I still like how it looks infinitely more.
Grass is weak to 5 common types and is resisted by 7 types. Steel resists 11 types, including psychic and dragon, two very strong types. Of all the grass types only 2 are neutral to fire. On a steel team, you can just carry a heatran. Grass types have one gimmick, which is chlorophyl ability in the sun, which ironically, powers up the fire moves they're weak to. Face it, they are statistically weak.
First of all, how do you determine what common type is? Grass is weak to Fire, Bug, Flying, Poison, and Ice. Personally, I don't consider Poison and Ice to be common. Scratch that, I don't consider any type to be common. There are over 400 Pokemon, you can't dub types to be common. Oh, and that Fire weakness? Steel is weak to Fire, too! Plus Grass resists Electric, Water, Ground, and Grass so that's pretty good. If anything Grass is an example of a standard type: Weak to 5 types, resists 4 types, and the rest are neutral. As Stars said, Steel is a very defensive type, which is why it resists so much. It's the nature of the type. It is only Super Effective against Ice and Rock while is it NOT effective against Electric, Fire, Water, and Steel. And then you say Steel resists Dragon and Psychic, two "very strong types." Last I checked, Dragon as a type was pretty bland. It is ONLY Super Effective against other Dragons and everything else takes neutral except Steel. Just because you resist Dragon does not make Steel the God Type. And then Psychic is only Super Effective against Fighting and Poison, while Psychic also resists and Dark is outright immune. If you want to talk resistances, look at the immune types like Ground tp Electric and Flying to Ground. To say that a Steel team it "unbeatable" is just stupid. If it was true, then you would never beat Stevens in Hoenn. Statistically, Grass is NOT weak nor is any type.

The winner is NoGoodBoyo! It was between him and Bullet as his answer felt like something from the actual game, but the Tick is just awesome.
...boring stuff aside... Friday night was very exciting for all of us! The recent appearance of Team Meteor brought an unexpected but very unpleasant surprise in the form of their leader, Solaris appearing... with a mind controlled Amor! You have no idea how fantastic this was! ...only for storytelling purposes, of course... ^^ Maybe. But, sadly, in the end, AmethystStorm challenged Solaris to an end-all fight, and earned the freedom of Will, and Amwhore. Shamed and distraught, Meteor turned tail and fled... Oh well...
AGAIN I am forgotten! I fought off their Grunt and two Sub-Leaders! I swear, next time I'm standing aside...

Don't know what's so funny especially since I didn't mix up type and species at all let alone mention type, but yeah Jynx is correct.

Dunsparce. I remember the first time I found it in Dark Cave playing Silver and gasped. I had never seen such a Pokemon before on previous play throughs and thought I had found an ultra rare Pokemon. Nintendo obviously has love for it, too, because Dunsparce learns many moves usually assigned to a specific type: it's the only non-Flying-type Pokémon to learn Roost by level up, the only non-Poison-type to learn Glare, the only non-Ghost-type to learn Spite by level up, and the only non-Ground-type to learn Dig by level up. It's just such a bizarre little Pokemon and awesome because of it. Even the professionals recognize this:
...he automatically grants your team infinite cool points.
Bidoof is just an HM Slave. No one has ever liked it. It has this stupid gaze about it. And it just fails in comparrison to its counterparts of Rattata, Sentret, and Zigzagoon. Bidoof was the joke of Diamond and Pearl.

Poliwrath used Mind Reader! Poliwrath used Fissure! POLIWRATH! God bless Nintendo forgetting to patch loopholes like that the first time they allowed generation trades. And since I know that is right... What is the only Pokemon species recognized as having its own distinct verbal language?

I knew it was Jolteon, too, so I'm going to revive my own game. Neh! What is the only Pokemon family that learns Waterfall by level up?
