Sharpen already exists. Porygon2 and Porygon-Z learn it and it raises Attack 1 stage.

What I want to know now is: Does improving Accuracy counter an increase in Evasion, or are the two completely separate? If an opponent uses Double Team and you have Wide Lens, will it make a 100% accurate move more accurate? Or will it give no boost because it is already 100% accurate and Evasion is separate. I also think that only an item can increase accuracy because I could only find moves that lower accuracy, not raise it.

I saw this strategy used on a Magmar for a NU battle and I'm pretty sure it would work on Magmortar. What's more, it could probably work on a large array of Pokemon and probably is, but I like seeing it on Magmar/Magmortar since they don't get as much love as Electivire. -Substitute -Belly Drum -Thunderpunch -Fire Punch ---Salac Berry You switch in on something that fears a Fire attack or has nothing to attack back with, set up a Substitute as they switch/don't break the Sub, Belly Drum while they attempt to break the Sub (and probably will), Salac Berry activates and boosts Speed, then sweep with Thunder and Fire Punch for coverage. Again, this is probably used on other Pokemon, but I like seeing it on something that can definitely use it.

I think it is utter tripe. Yes, there are times when you can overkill. A Jolteon that uses Thunderbolt against a Gyarados will always OHKO with or without Max SpAttack EVs. That is the kind of example she uses where overkill is pointless. But there are so many other places those SpAttack EVs would be of vital importance. Let's say that instead you are facing a Physically Defensive Skarmory. With no boosting item and Max SpAttack, Jolteon should still OHKO the Skarmory. No if we give Jolteon 0 EVs, then it will deal 90%-106% damage to the Skarmory, meaning it might or might NOT OHKO. The Skarmory can then attack if you're low on health to kill Jolteon, set up Spikes, or Whirlwind you out. Then if it's a Specially Defensive Skarmory, even with Max Special Attack Jolteon will not OHKO (it would with Choice Specs or Life Orb). Then if you didn't invest any EVs in Special Attack, you will only do 65%-78% to the Special Skarmory. This allows Skarmory to do plenty of things, since battles are not static. The same thing could happen between two Dragonites. You don't both to invest 252 Attack EVs in favor of adding more to Speed/HP/Defense. You come up against another Dragonite and attack with a Super Effective Dragon Claw! But....it doesn't kill, dealing around 85% damage let's say. The other Dragonite retaliates with its own Dragon Claw and gets a OHKO! What the crap? Oh hey, that other Dragonite invested more in Attack EVs, that's why. You invest in offense to help you deal with Pokemon that are not a guaranteed KO. Plus, people are going to switch around and try to predict moves so you can't always expect to stay in and give you that 2HKO either. Saying that multiplying the HP of all Pokemon by 20 is a quaint idea, but it's just an idea. What if we made it so in baseball you needed 9 Strikes to strike a batter out, and 12 balls to walk them? Then the pitcher would get tired faster and pitching power/speed wouldn't matter as much! Wouldn't that be graaaaaaaand? Proper Natures, IVs, and EV distribution is important. Going back to my Skarmory, you can invest in Special Defense and suddenly it can survive more hits. Or you can keep it purely physical. It's all another layer of strategy and personalization to make your Pokemon yours.

Yes, but only over local wifi I believe. When you do it I also believe you each bring 3 Pokemon, so it's a full 6 on 6 Double Battle. As a further example, moves with at least 90% accuracy, like Rock Slide, will have an effective 99% accuracy assuming no evasion/accuracy modifiers, whereas the normally 85% accurate Fire Blast will only reach 93.5% accuracy (.85 x 1.1 = .935).

I'm all for what has been proposed. The only other thing I could suggest is using another IRC server/channel to base our rules off of. You know, find a standard rule set.

I would be for the idea of creating two separate severs, though at the same time I am cautious of it. There has just been a large influx of people coming on to our server simply because we appear to be big. Not that hard when the #2 through #5 servers in size can be under 20 users. People who don't want to go to the main server migrate to ours, usually trying to find weaker opponents (faced someone who lead with a Darkrai when I had a Jumpluff, he got a critical hit, and then yelled "LOL n00b!" *shudder*). But there are ones trying to find a smaller server they can stand out in and enjoy, and those are the people we want for the site. It's just separating those people out. Having a server for only people who have signed up on the forums and a second one for people to find out about the site sounds great. My only worry is who would run the non-password protected one. I would assume our tournaments and the Reborn League would take place on the protected server, so why would any of us really want to go to the other server? If we just depend on us hanging out there to recruit people, I fear we just won't because...we're lazy. I'm all for giving it a shot though as it can't hurt. Now to go read this new comic that is being produced and the critique it.....to HELL!!! Muhahahahaha!

At this point, I really want to step away and not find out any more about the games. They have released such an absurd amount of information on new Pokemon that there is going to be no surprise or discovery left when they are released. We already have over 20 Pokemon confirmed, and with most generations introducing around 100+ new Pokemon, that's already 1/5 or the new content. Plus, most of these Pokemon will have evolutions so it is really 2/5 or even 3/5 of the new Pokemon. I'm going to find out everything when the game comes out in Japan anyway, but at least save a little bit. Instead of a giant wave of new stuff as people find everything in the game, we keep getting tiny splashes of spoilers until there is no wave to speak of. It's like having someone give you the names, descriptions, pictures, and opinions of a rides at Disney Land, a new ride revealed to you each day. Then once you actually get to go to Disney Land for the first time, all the charm of it being the first time is lost. The only Pokemon that I remember were revealed early for Diamond and Pearl were Dialga, Palkia, Lucario and Bidoof. Maybe there were more revealed, but that's all I remembered being important or well covered. With this, [i]everything [/i]is being ruined. I don't want to know what's under the Christmas tree a month in advance. Half the fun is the surprise. And if I wanted to follow all the new information, I can't do that either really. There is just too much being revealed that I can't keep up with it, especially when half of it is speculation and not known for sure yet. They're tossing all these names and pictures at us and I can't keep them organized based just on that. I wish they would tone down the leaks and coverage once it gets close to release, just to let things calm down for the big reveal.
