Aervana #1 - Group 2 - (IC Thread)
Jory replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Roland woke up and saw Megaira on the floor. He chuckled lightly, then nudged the Dok with his foot. "It is time to leave, Megaira. I will see you on the road." With that, the ranger dressed himself and left the room. He walked out the door of the inn and down the street toward a small storefront. He entered and purchased travel rations for the remainder of the trip to the Shantii capital, then left. He saw Nash and Crag standing in the designated meeting spot and approached them. "Crag, you rogue, how did you manage to get here before me?" Roland asked, smiling lightly. -
Jory entered the Armory and looked around. There were armaments everywhere, but his attention was immediately drawn to a crate on the far side of the room. He popped the lid off and smiled as he opened it up. He took out a standard issue loadout, then turned to the rest of the squad. "Let's go roast this oversized chicken."

The Awakened - First Pillar (IC Thread)
Jory replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Lux snatched the watch out of the air, shaking his head at the recruit's cocky attitude. Given his power, that may be well-deserved confidence, Lux thought to himself. But there's still nothing faster than light. He finally looked up at the loudmouth addressing him. Now that I'm a member of The Organization, I should probably choose an alias. What sounds awesome and has to do with light...? He put his hand on his chin in thought, then snapped his fingers. "You can call me Photon. This Organization, as far as I know, seeks to uncover the secrets of The Pillar. I know you two feel that inexplicable urge to go to it as well. All us Awakened do. And so long as you help us toward these ends, I suppose you could say we'd be 'adopting' you." Lux turned to Cedric, making sure he'd covered everything important. -

The Bartender nodded, turning to Lux and extending a hand. He spoke in a deep voice. "It's nice to meet you. Hopefully we will have a chance to get better acquainted later. Lux nodded at the other man in acknowledgement and grasped his hand, giving it a businesslike shake. "Likewise. I'm sure we'll have a lot to discuss before we get started with looking for the pillar." Lux then turned his attention to the new recruits. The first to appear was a grungy looking man with headphones and red hair. A loose cannon. We're going to have to use money or otherwise to keep him interested in our cause. Otherwise, he could end up against us just as quickly as he arrived here. Next, he examined the other two arrivals. There was a young man who was pretty close in age to Lux. He looks confused. He probably hasn't fully discovered the potential of his power yet. But he wouldn't be here unless it were of interest to us, so I'll just wait and see. The only one of them he couldn't read was the Asian girl. She's pretty cute. But now's not the time for that. The young man watched closely as they were asked to demonstrate their powers. Lux grinned and chuckled lightly. A speedster and Goku from Dragonball? Is this a freakin' comic book? he thought to himself, laughing quietly all the while. He then stepped forward and motioned for the other two recruits to step back. "This sunlight's a little stale, but I'm sure you'll get the basic idea." Lux raised his arm and pointed his index finger at the wall and his thumb at the sky, like he meant to pretend to shoot one of them. He remained calm as a focused yellow ray of light quickly appeared between his fingers and the rapidly growing char mark on the concrete wall. Lux turned to the others and smiled. "We're Awakened as well. Welcome to the party." -

To be honest, I'd been thinking about a story arc that sheds a little more light on Lux's brother. He's an interesting character to me because he and Lux's backgrounds are closely intertwined, and as of right now he's pretty much a blank slate that could have a serious impact on Lux's role in the overarching story. -
Jory nodded and followed Surge toward the armory, as his rifle had been torn from his hands by the incredible power of the large bird's wind attack.

Lux nodded at Cedric's suggestion. "I agree. If we're going to unlock the secrets of the Pillar, we'll need as many talented individuals as we can get our hands on." With that, Lux stood at attention, ready to follow Mr. Sterling out of the office to meet the new recruits. -

I would assume that Viktor's power would be able to defeat him. Unless Jude turns completely black (meaning no light is reflected off of him) or invisible (all light passes through him), I believe Lux's abilities would affect Jude. I hadn't thought of this before, but that would mean that invisible people are immune to Lux's power. EDIT: I guess the heat from focused light would kill the invisible people faster, actually, since it all passes through them. Their bodies would be like a focusing lens. -
I thought Emerald would die as part of an attack on the school or be assassinated like Uriel Septim in Oblivion.

Jory looked up at the bird just as it launched its wind attack. He was sent flying backward. Then, everything went dark. He awoke to a wet sensation on his cheek. He opened his eyes to see Sampson and Neffi over him, concern evident in their gaze. Neffi gave a happy bark upon seeing her trainer recover and licked his face once again. Jory smiled and stroked the Nidorina's head before sitting up and looking around him. "Guys, I'm alright!" he shouted, seeing that most of them were still standing.

I can see Cassidy becoming a major "antagonist" in this RP. Cool -
Jory chuckled at the small simian on his shoulder despite the seriousness of the situation. "It's alright. He's just curious. I am as well, actually. I haven't really seen much of what Neffi can do since she evolved." Upon hearing her name, the newly evolved GAO let out noise similar to a bark. Suddenly, another solider ran up to the group and handed them assault rifles. Jory popped the clip out to ensure it was loaded before putting it back in the gun, cocking it. He slung the strap over his shoulder and whistled, his GAOs standing at attention at the agreed-upon signal. Jory took a deep breath. No one else at the gate seemed to know what to do. "Alright, squad, listen up!" he began, addressing his fellow cadets. "Fort Bexly is under attack from an unknown threat. All we know is that they really seem to like this sudden cold. So let's heat'em up! Sampson, I want you to use your Embers to hit these guys from range! Logan, have Ace do the same! We can beat them back. This position will not fall. Are you with me?" Jory shouted over the whipping wind as Sampson whinnied in assent, beginning to sweep the oncoming wave with his Ember attack. Jory waited for a response, his knuckles white on the barrel of his gun.

Graterras Chapter 2: A Second Chance [IC]
Jory replied to Raindrop Valkyrie's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Drug'thok Grunara- Wall Team The half-Orc nodded. He raised his left foot, slamming it heavily to the ground as he mumbled, "Terra surgere." The ground rumbled and a dozen similar pillars shot up from the ground in perfect three by four formation. "Indeed. If these scrappy-looking archers are to fight the undead, they'll need all the training they can fit in today." He grinned quickly at Helzebeth before addressing Jupiter. "I don't believe we've been acquainted yet. I am Drug'thok Grunara, called the Earth Shaker by some. But you may simply call me Dru." -
"CODE CRYO! I REPEAT, CODE CRYO! THIS IS A PRIORITY ONE THREAT! FORT BEXLY IS IN DANGER OF DESTRUCTION! ALL SQUADRONS AND ABLE BODIED INDIVIDUALS, REPORT TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE! I REPEAT, ALL SQUADRONS AND ABLE BODIED INDIVIDUALS REPORT TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE!" Jory looked toward the loudspeaker, panic evident on his face. Neffi turned to her Trainer. He had never seen Neffi being serious until her evolution and subsequent victory that day, but her expression carried no humor. Her teeth clamped down on Jory's wrist and she began tugging him toward the entrance to the mess hall. As they exited the room, Jory shook his hand loose from the Nidorina's jaws and sprinted for the gate. If the situation was as serious as McCarthy was making it out to be, then they might be required to aid the guards in fending off whatever it was that was attacking the base. The pair arrived at the gates to find Kenny there, but no one else. "Hey, what's going on?! Are we under attack?" Jory asked the other cadet quickly as he reached for his belt and grabbed his other capsule, releasing Sampson from his ball. He snorted, a gout of embers coming from his muzzle.

The Awakened - First Pillar (IC Thread)
Jory replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Lux pondered the plan for a moment before responding. A party, huh? For some reason I didn't think we'd be involved in espionage so soon. Then, remembering how he had been chased throughout the city, he grimaced. There's no way any of us could get in there undetected. At least not without disguises. Lux looked back to Cedric. "I think it's a good idea, but we need to be extremely cautious in the planning stages. The longer we as an organization stay undetected by the government, the better chance we have of reaching the Pillar. We can't just strut in and strike up a conversation with this B.O.A guy. They'll be expecting someone to come after him if we've already heard about their new pet project. That might be problematic considering they clearly have some knowledge of what we- or at least I- look like, which was given away by the fact that local cops were after me. I'd assume I'm not the only Awakened to experience the long arm of the law. So we'll need to be invisible to them, at least until we can squeeze some information out of this man. We might even want to make it so he can't remember telling us whatever information he gives us," the young man finished quickly, looking to Sterling for a response. -

Drug'Thok Grunara- Wall Team Dru returned Helzebeth's nod with a stony gaze. He hadn't really gotten a chance to get to know the huntress yet, but he was under the impression that if there was one person in the group he never wanted to be on the other end of, it was Helzebeth. Her limber, catlike movements suggested an athletic ability far superior to the half-Orc's own. He chuckled quietly to himself, then turned his attention to the conversation at hand. After Jupiter finished speaking, the sorcerer stepped out of the shadow of the tent, his hood still drawn down as his cloak fluttered lightly. The dim light of day showed off Drug'thok's Orcish complexion, a feature usually hidden deep within the folds of his cloak. Next to the Victonari, the sorcerer looked comically short. "I agree. I will be glad for something to do. I was getting a little restless in there." -

Poke-people: Chapter 2: Your first Exam

Sonny grinned and shook his head as Alina disappeared right before his eyes. Whatever Alina had in store for him could wait until after he had eaten his full. Sonny proceeded out of the gymnasium and into the hallway, following the mass of students toward the cafeteria. He stood patiently in the lunch line for a few minutes before grabbing a tray and carefully selecting the parts of his meal. As a scout, he knew that it was important for him to stay in shape, so he liked to make a habit of rewarding himself with desserts every once in awhile. He stared longingly at a brownie before tearing his gaze away and taking his seat at the instructors' table. -
Sorry for the lack of posting @_@ Trying not to give too much away about Dru just yet. He's supposed to be a little enigmatic.

Graterras Chapter 2: A Second Chance [IC]
Jory replied to Raindrop Valkyrie's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Drug'thok Grunara- The Wall The sorcerer finished his tea, still chuckling over the last bit of conversation he'd had with Brass. His initial impressions of the Victonari had been incorrect. The man was quite amicable and after a few cups of tea they had gotten to know each other quite well. Suddenly, the half-Orc's face took on a more serious tone. "Earlier you asked me about my people. If you would like to know more, I will not deny you this information. However, every half-Orc's story is different. Oftentimes we are persecuted by the other races due to their blind hatred for our Green brethren." Dru removed his cloak, revealing a plain grey robe. He moved the shoulder over so the Victonari could see the brand on his neck. It was a horrid brand, spelling out the phrase 'traitor by blood.' The sorcerer covered it back up and looked at Brass. "I received that mark when I was still a boy. The villagers did not appreciate that my mother had taken an Orcish lover. Anywhere we went, I was called 'half-breed' or 'mongrel'. I cannot blame them for being fearful of me. It is simply what they know- that Orcs burn and pillage. It took me many years of meditation to come to terms with this realization." He smiled lightly. "The Earth taught me to be unshakable. To not let distrust worm its way to my core. That is what it is to be a half-Orc. It is to feel fear from those you wish to care for. It is to belong only with those who see not race, but character." -

Lux relaxed as relief washed over him. Just as he'd suspected, these people would let him go if he wanted to. However, he began to think more thoroughly about his situation. Given how I escaped, the police are probably still looking for me. I suppose there's safety in numbers, plus Sterling just offered me a rather high up position. The young man paced about the room for a minute, weighing his options. On the one hand, I have no idea what this organization is actually planning to do with the knowledge of the Pillar. But on the other hand, if they do figure it out, shouldn't I be here to help properly direct its use? Lux stopped pacing and turned to Cedric Sterling. "You have a deal, Mr. Sterling. But I think I'll take you up on that advisory role. There needs to be someone to speak on behalf of the Unawakened. It isn't that I don't trust you- it's that sometimes power can cause destructive oversights." Lux offered his hand to the man behind the desk. "So, what do you need me to do?"
