I would disagree, Aeirow. Thundurus has access to Prankster + Volt Absorb. No matter how you use Zapdos, Unless we're talking about spamming Heat Wave, Thundurus can do it better. It's got Nasty Plot, too, so...yeah. But I brought up the things about Sawk and Cobalion and I stand behind them. Sawk gets Sturdy + STAB Close Combat. Truly unique. As far as I understand, the only non-Rock, non-Steel pokemon with the ability. And as for Cobalion really anything is possible, going beyond the cliché Swords Dance set. Being unpredictable is a needed commodity in BL, since few Pokemon in the tier are capable of running decent sets outside of what they're known to do.

To Mashew: I actually had Virizion before instead of Alakazam. To slant: -This Genesect is a beast. Also there for the surprise factor. -This Thundurus actually did have that set before (minus Grass Knot). Hidden Power Ghost was recommended by somebody, and it worked for a while before it started to fail me. I presumed it was just me wanting to go back to it again and again that caused it to fail. -A spinner is necessary, I agree. I'll try Excadrill. -I'm choosing Sand Force for ol' Lando because weather is extremely common in the OU meta anywhere. This guy is there to use the moves he has to Earthquake Rocks and Steels into the ground while keeping the side effects of Brick Break and (if it actually disappears with Sheer Force) U-turn. -Keldeo is a staple on this team, meant to come in to eat up Rock attacks that would potentially destroy Thundurus if it doesn't Volt Switch (or just switch) the hell out of there. Gives me options if Excadrill is dead. -Alakazam is another staple of the team. If you gave me a dollar for each team it's swept on its own in other places, you probably wouldn't have much left. What I will change: - Take out Deoxys in favor of Excadrill. - Make Thundurus the lead, give it Leftovers, and swap out HP [Ghost] in favor of HP [Fighting]. No Focus Blast because I want guaranteed results. - Swap the order so that it's ready to rock and roll in Doubles and Triples.

Ryan C here. I generally like to destroy, and this is how I just might do it. A friend used this team (well, a modification of it), and it peaked at 1850 rating on Smogon back when people still played on that server. Here goes. Deoxys-D @ Fight Gem Trait: Pressure EVs: 48 HP / 252 SAtk / 208 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Stealth Rock - Spikes / Taunt - Hidden Power [Fighting] - Psycho Boost Deoxys has base 170 defenses, so it's no wonder that it ends up being one of the most common leads around. Stealth Rock provides universal damage, though it's greatly affected based on the Pokemon. Spikes is another entry hazard option, but by the time I get two or three off, it's time to switch out. Taunt can be used to shut down a lot of things, including Breloom, Amoonguss, crep's crappy Baton Pass team, and other things. Hidden Power [Fighting] is used primarily for coverage, bolstered to 105 base power by the Fight Gem for one use, which will probably be all I need. Finally Psycho Boost is the STAB slobberknocker. Alakazam (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Psyshock - Focus Blast - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Fire] Offensive Alakazam, as basically that's all it can do. Psyshock is the STAB attack that also wrecks Blissey and Chansey. Focus Blast is the coverage move, as sadly, Alakazam can nort learn Aura Sphere. Anyway, Shadow Ball is the next one. Espeon, Xatu, Cofagrigus, all of those will go down, and the odd other vulnerable pokemon as well. Hidden Power [Fire] is another coverage move that is the only reliable move that it can learn to damage Excadrill. Genesect @ Choice Band Trait: Download EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - U-turn - Iron Head - Quick Attack - Flamethrower Genesect is like a bug/steel Hydreigon. It's powerful and it's got options. This is one version very seldom seen, and underrated since due to common EV setups, Genesect's Attack gets boosted more than its Special Attack with Download, which gives Genesect a +2 Attack boost right off the bat with its Choice Band. U-turn and Iron Head are its STABs, the former being a hit-and-run tactic. Quick Attack does alright with its priority, and Zen Headbutt is a coverage move more than anything. It also helps put a dent in, if not kill, Blaziken and Infernape should it survive or have one of them switch in. Thundurus-T (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef Timid Nature (+Spd, -Def) - Thunderbolt / Discharge - Volt Switch - Hidden Power [Ghost] - Grass Knot Thundurus is useful in just about any weather, and is not better or worse in any particular weather than the other. Sure, it's weak to Ice, but Water-Ice combos are common, and any Ice-type who is faster than Thundurus is probably named Cryogonal and fragile as hell. But behold, it's Choice Scarf Thundurus! The perfect mid-game sweeper, really. Fast, powerful, and gifted with an awesome typing. Thunderbolt, Discharge and Volt Switch are the STABs. Choose Thunderbolt if you want power, orDischarge if you feel like you'll be in Doubles a lot or if you want to inflict paralysis. Hidden Power [Ghost] is a coverage move, capable of damaging the ever-so-annoying bulky Ghosts capable of healing off your other attacks, denting/killing Deoxys, and snuffing Espeon before it has time to blink. Why Ghost and not Dark? So that Justified doesn't kick in on Muskedeers/Lucario/Arcanine, and it's not resisted by Fighting. Grass Knot is a move that allows Thundurus to be a great lead because it can kill Politoed, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon. Okay, you'd use an Electric move for Politoed, but still it's useful on leads. Landorus (M) @ Expert Belt Trait: Sand Force EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) / Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Brick Break / Hammer Arm / Hidden Power [ice] - U-turn This guy has a moustache so fine that he gets a spot on my team. (I didn't feel the need for Jellicent.) Anyway, Landorus completes the VoltTurn trio, which you probably didn't notice until I mentioned it, with U-turn. Earthquake and Stone Edge, while kinda making this guy a wannabe Terrakion, is power nonetheless, and with Earthquake getting STAB here there's some real nice power going on. Your last move is a toss-up. Brick Break is for coverage and Dual Screen breaking (although it's pretty useless vs. Xatu), Hammer Arm is raw power though it cuts his Speed, and Hidden Power [ice] is for wall-breaking, specifically Gliscor and to a lesser extent Skarmory, and overall surprise. Note that Hidden Power, though, should only be used in conjunction with a Hasty Nature; otherwise, you want El Moustachio to be a Jolly ol' fella. Keldeo @ Choice Specs Trait: Justified EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Secret Sword - Hydro Pump - Icy Wind - Hidden Power [Dark] The form choice is somewhat important here, although just for mind games. You'll get those people that will think that just because Keldeo is in its normal form, that means that it probably won't know Secret Sword...but alas, they'll be surely surprised when their pink egg crumbles before it. Oh, did I mention that Choice Specs Keldeo is also stupidly powerful? Hydro Pump gives the opponent some solid proof, especially in rain. You'll 2HKO even the mighty Politoed. Icy Wind is the byproduct of Keldeo's relatively bad special movepool, but there could be worse things. At least it lowers Speed, which can force a switch. Finally, Hidden Power [Dark] is for coverage, but beware of the other Muskedeers and Gallade as that will raise their Attack. This team is very much open to all kinds of (serious) criticism, in fact I welcome it. Cheers guys. EDIT: Genesect has Flamethrower, not Zen Headbutt.

If you want to keep it simple, stay with the team that's on your card and run Dialga. Dialga is a bulky son of a bitch, with 100/120/100 defenses on top of 120 Attack and 150 Special Attack, sporting nine resistances while having its only weaknesses covered by the rest of your team through immunities. Draco Meteor murders...everything. Its Speed is decent, at 90 base. Yeah, throw this on your sandstorm team and watch things get crushed. If you want to run something else with that team, suit yourself, but Darkrai won't be too necessary with Amoonguss knowing Spore.

So, I find myself in college, and I can tell you it's pretty interesting over here in Toronto. I don't stay in residence, rather I commute. I am in the radio broadcasting program at the college which lasts two years. From there, I can either head into the work force and try to fight my way up the radio industry until I get my dream job as a sports news guy / play-by-play dude / on-air personality on a top-tier radio station, preferably Pennsylvania because there are no taxes. :-) Anyway, here's how a day goes. I'll throw you the typical Thursday as it's the most normal day on my schedule. - I'll get up at around 6:50 in the morning, do all the stuff I need to do. - I'm out of the house at around 7:45 and get to the train station, for the train that leaves roughly twenty minutes later at 8:05. - I'll get off the train at a station to get on a bus, but in the meantime, I get a coffee from the nearby Tim Hortons (absolutely massive café chain in Canada, although there are some in the northeastern States including Manhattan). The bus will come within 5 minutes of the time I get back to the local train station to catch a bus. That bus will take a roughly 20 minute trip to the college. - When I get there, I usually have just under two hours to kill. This will mostly be spent proofreading and revising homework so that it's top-notch, although it's mostly sound-based. - First class is at 10:50 a.m. On Thursday, it's the Introduction to Radio class. On Friday, it's the Announcing Skills class. On Monday, it's Sales class (which really sucks). On Tuesday, the class which actually started just after 8 will be dismissing me. I get all of Wednesday off. - I will get a lunch break every day except for Monday and Friday, as I have Writing Skills class right afterward on Friday and my day is done after Monday's class. But the lunch will usually be spent at the local mall, where my options expand beyond the somewhat limited choice that the college itself offers. Usually, it's something from good ol' Subway. - My second class is Creative Writing on Tuesday, News on Thursday, and the forementioned General Writing skills (English class, essentially, without all the novel-reading, Shakespeare-analyzing bullshit.) Each day it ends at the same time, around 3:30, but sometimes earlier because the teacher/professor/whatever just wants out of there. - Just under another hour to kill before the bus out comes. Usually spent reviewing/starting assignments, eating late lunches, or bugging you guys. Occasionally I'll hop on League of Legends because my bro bugs me to. (EVERYBODY in college with a laptop plays it. No joke!) - When the bus comes at around 4:25, I'm out and the bus takes me to the train station from whence I came. Then I take the train, and I'm back by 5:21. - I get home around 5:40, I might start homework, I might do one of many things. I still live with my parents for now, but only because they suggested I do so to save money. It's turning out to be a good choice, although opportunities for part-time jobs aren't as good due to my house being in a rural area. Actually, I guess not, since I have a car. - I seldom make my own dinner. But when I do, it's amazing.compared to my mom's cooking - My college class demands a lot of work with computers, so I'm on a lot anyway. I have a near-endless musical library full of good shit like Muse, Radiohead, (the older) Nickelback, etc. Usually, when I battle either a league battle or someone important, I put on something heavy. (My last battle vs. Mashew had me head-banging to Slayer, which explains why I lost. Okay, maybe not.) - I'll usually put myself out at around 11:30 p.m. So there you have it, my life in college. Post-mortem: I gotta remember that Electivire loves Rock Slide and Raichu loves Fake Out. That said, I do have an idea: Mamoswine on the left, Salamence in the middle, and Jolteon on the right. Jolteon uses Magnet Rise to survive the two potential Earthquakes, one of them being stopped based on who Sigmund feels is the greater threat. Electivire will deal some serious damage to Jolteon, but Discharge will heal it. I'm also going to start experimenting with items for this leader as well. Open to suggestions if you really want. I just want the next battle with him to be the last.

Log entry #145 January 22, 2561 Today was a bit of a mess. Pay's gonna be nice though. Of course, being a bounty hunter, I wouldn't be here. Anyway, I had to fight a large robot. Vitality of the robot was unknown. For concerns of time and others' safety, I used my F-Zero machine to launch myself at the robot before punching it out. I realized a little bit that there wasn't a thing I could do for the little guys with flowers on their heads that I slid into and killed. Turns out the spaceman can pull them out of the ground at will, so I guess it wasn't as bad as I initially thought. I won't go into a whole lot of detail, so I'll summarize: The spaceman and I joined a couple of troubled apes on a skiff that, after bashing some invaders, led into an enemy base. Together, we navigated our way through what seemed to be a factory. Our suspicions became reality when the bigger ape burst through a wall, revealing spheres which appeared to be bombs, accompanied by an army of robots, android, and biomechanical life forms. With the help of a robed robot, which I guess had some affiliation to this robot army, as well as another robot, which I'm starting to believe is a human in another exoskeleton, and a yellow mouse capable of discharging electricity (I'll just call it Pikachoo as that's all it could say), we were able to defeat the army and make a getaway before the bombs rigged to go off exploded, consuming the entire island in subspace, but not without sending the two robots to confront a mechanical dragon trying to take us down. Now I think that's the end of it...but I can't be sure. There's...something about that orange-clad figure...could it be... - G.S. Fed. B.H. 467 "Captain Falcon"

Analysis: - It's always interesting to have a powerhouse like Life Orb Alakazam leading on your team. You get to cause panic with a real special slammer. Ballsy move, but a smart one nonetheless. - Sandslash is great. Works well with Sandstorm teams. Dig isn't great, but noting your team I see why you aren't running Earthquake. - Great set on Amoonguss. Spore / Synthesis / Rocky Helmet is a real bastardly defensive set up for switch ins. - Magnezone is one hell of bastardly pokemon, especially on Steels. Great coverage that will make Titania hate you for life...oh wait, she already hates everyone anyway. Some misplaced EVs that could be better in Speed, IMO. - Haxorus...oh, that's a great set. I have the same issue with misplaced EVs on this pokemon, too. - Gallade's a neat case, but there's a lot of potential you seem to have missed. More info below. This is an absolutely outstanding team. Got every weakness covered in one way or another. I do have some comments though. - Don't replace Close Combat with Psycho Cut on Gallade! If you were thinking about that, that's ridiculous. Psycho Cut, though, is far better than Stone Edge on Gallade. More power when you take STAB into account, much more reliable with 100 accuracy, and it has the same high crit-hit ratio, only one resistance if I recall right (that being Steel, which goes down to Close Combat, especially if it's boosted), and it's way harder to stall out, with four times the PP. Sure, it doesn't hit Darks, but that's what Close Combat is for. If you thought about keeping Stone Edge and canning Close Combat, then you clearly don't know how well Close Combat, Shadow Sneak, and Psycho Cut work together. These three moves slam almost every type that resists or is immune to the other for super-effective damage. That's AMAZING. - Zen Headbutt is an alternative to Psycho Cut If you're looking for that extra inch of power (difference of 15 after STAB). The trade-off is that it's not as accurate as Psycho Cut, but at 90 accuracy, it is still more accurate than Stone Edge. You have two other attacks with 100 accuracy, so...do what you will. - A Life Orb on Gallade makes little to no sense with this moveset, no matter what Smogon tells you. One Close Combat and literally anything in OU can KO you when you have a Life Orb. Even Azumarill can OHKO you with Waterfall + Huge Power thank's to Gallade's less-than-desirable Defence. It makes even less sense when you have a boosting move that leaves you wide open to a potential KO, and possible self-KO with Life Orb damage. You're running Swords Dance, Close Combat, and a priority move. This set screams Focus Sash. You take the hit, you boost, and you hit hard next turn with a doubled-up Shadow Sneak. Or Close Combat if you're facing a Normal-type, because despite that 284 Speed you'll outrun most of them anyway. - Dig is a two-turn move, and in my opinion the worst of them because it's Ground-type. Perhaps there's a better move for Sandslash. Dunno though, as with Earthquake you'll be hitting teammates in Dubs/Trips.
